Just like the other reviews, this does not remove makeup. I don't have that clean face feeling after using it. The smell is nice.

Tried this instead of purchasing my usual gel cleanser. Biggest mistake ever. It didnt do anything for my skin. It even made it drier & more sensitive. Will never repurchase or recommend this to anyone.

This barely does the job of cleaning my face. At first I figured that the creamy film it leaves behind is moisturizing, but time and time again I use a cotton ball with toner afterward and it's full of makeup that the cleanser couldn't remove. I can only use this on the weekend when I wear minimal or no makeup, but the one thing I like is the smell. I've replaced the Aveda cleanser with Neutrogena Naturals Facial Cleanser which was under $10 at the drugstore and works really well. I used to use all Aveda all the time, but not so much anymore.

I am actually rather disappointed in this product. It's pleasant to use but I don't really feel as if my skin is getting clean. I'm now using it just in the a.m. only because I don't feel that it does a very good job at removing makeup. Will not repurchase.

This cleanser is for dry to normal skin.

I have been using this cleanser along with the rest of the Aveda skin care line for about 5 years now, and I just love Aveda products! I am 27 years old and have great skin, and I highly credit Aveda products for this. If I go on a trip for a couple of weeks and don't follow my usual morning and night beauty regime with these products, I definitely notice negative changes in my skin.

It is not great at removing makeup, so I usually use a makeup remover for eyes before using this, and it is also great in the morning when your skin is clean.

I also alternate my use of this cleanser every other day or so with the Aveda Tourmaline Charged Exfoliating Cleanser.

This is mild and moisturizing, and I highly recommend its use along with the toner, exfoliant, and moisturizer (applied in that order after cleansing).

I think this cleanser is great mild cleanser for individuals with drier skin and who need a nice cleanser for the morning. I don't think this does much to remove makeup but it does replenish moisture in the skin. It has a nice consistency (it does not really suds up though) and it smells nice. I like this for when my skin is on the drier side when I just want a light wash in the mornings. I ran out of my creme cleanser a while ago and I don't know if I will repurchase. I have tons of cleansers at home and I like something that will help more with breakouts or exfoliate.

After I got my eyebrows waxed, the esthetician suggested some products for me. I was all stocked up on moisturizer and I don't use toner, but I was in need of a new cleanser. I had high hopes for this one, but after the first use my skin didn't feel clean. It has the consistency of creamy moisturizer and there is no foam at all. It is truly like putting on lotion and rinsing it off. I tried again with a different scrubbing implement, but I still didn't feel clean. As an experiment, I used a cosmetic wipe on my face after "washing" with this stuff. Sure enough, there was plenty of foundation still left on my skin! I will be trying to return this product for a refund.

Uggh. I really love Aveda and there Botanical Kinectics line considering I own alot of it, but this fell flat for me. I guess I expect a cleanser to have some sort of soap and lather properties, but this was like rubbing moisturizer on my face and rinsing it off. It feels as though I skipped washing my face. Even when I wipe my face off with a towel, I still get makeup transfer, so obviously it's not doing its job!

Absolutely love this cleasner! I have literally tried every skin care line you could possibly think of. Drugstore and department store brands, I've used it all. My skin is super sensative as well as pretty dry. I need to use a daily toner to get off any and all oils and dirt from my face. While at the same time, I need a lot of moisture to keep my skin from drying out. Because of this I have to use a creamy cleanser instead of a soapy one. For years I was using Bobbi Browns skin care line and was in love with it. However, a few months ago found out they discountinued my cream cleanser in the line. After trying a sample of Avedas line i was hooked! Not only is it way cheaper than Bobbi Brown(Bobbi Brown cleanser around $70, Aveda around $35), the all natural ingredients sits really well with my sensative skin. I haven't had one breakout since using it. It smells gorgeous and feels so incredibly refreshing. I highly recommend all products in this line. The cleanser, toner, and moisturizer work amazingly together!

Recently I went on a rampage to rid my morning/nightly routine of all the products I used that were tested on animals. After realizing that 99% of these products are in fact tested on animals and after doing the research on cruelty free products, I discovered Aveda. I've been using this cleanser for a little less than a month now and I love it. It takes off all of my makeup and leaves my skin feeling extremely smooth and I love the scent. I was just looking for a simple glycerin face wash and I found that and more. (Glycerin is typically the active ingredient found in most gentle cleansers.) I would definitely purchase this product again.

I have always wanted to try this but didn't think it was worth buying like my life time HG the Botanical Kinetics Exfoliant Toner which is honestly the best product in the entire Aveda company. This cleanser is in the same line which is why I was intrigued but honestly it is always hard for me to beleive that you can ideally find a great creamy cleanser that ofcoruse won't ever dry you out but that can at the same time manage to really deep clean your pores. The only cleanser I have ever found and use daily that does all the above is my staple the Philosophy Purity Cleanser which honestly seams like it would be made by Aveda lol considering it has amazing ingredients like Aveda products along with that natural planty herbal fresh smell. Since I got this Creme Cleanser in a swap I had nothing to lose. I have to say I am impressed that it does seem to clean my face pretty well as a nighttime cleanser. I lvoe teh convenience of the glass pump bottle and ofcourse the great ingredients. However I was really dissapointed as I was hoping it would smell fresh adn herbally like the Philosophy Cleanser or the Aveda Exfoliant however instead it smells of old organic soap which definitely isn't too pleasant and also even though it doesn't clog your skint he texture is pretty thick and it isn't conveniently somewhat emoiliant/easily spreadable when you rub it into a wet face (like the Philosophy cleanser is even though it's creamy as well) and for taht reason you need to use mroe fo teh product to feel like your face is getting clean. So as much as I would have lvoed to ahve this as a staple with the Aveda Exfoliant I swear by there are just more cons for this cleanser than pros for it to be STAPLE worthy for me. I will definitely use it up as the ingredients are quality and honestly jsut want to use the pump bottle so that I can pour my Philosophy Cleanser in it. Figures I found my HG cleanser but hate how Philosophy is the only damn cleanser where it comes in the annoying body wash bottle instead of a pump!! lol

The only good thing about this product was the pump and nice glass container. It was otherwise a disappointing cleanser that did not clean well or took off my make up well at all. On the plus side, this didn't break me out.

I've been using oil cleansers for a couple years, but when I ran out I found a small bottle of this in my cabinet that I'd forgotten about. I used it, thinking it'd just be a stop-gap until I could get some of my usual cleanser, but, surprisingly, I ended up loving this stuff. I get the same results as with the oil cleansers, but this is much easier to use and travel with b/c it's in cream form. I wouldn't say this product smells good, but it's not too strong. It's kind of a typical Aveda-like smell.

I have been using this cleanser for two weeks, I really like it so far. It's very creamy, not foamy at all. It washes off all my makeup, I don't even need to use the makeup remover. The scent is very nice, I really like this product, I would recommend it to others.

This cleanser was recommended as a great product to improve your skin. Well, it may be a decent cleanser generally, but not worth the high price.

I just purchased this product today along with a few other skin care products. I am a 21-year-old male and within this past year, I have had dryer skin than opposed to combo skin. I usually use Yonka or Shu Umuera oil and creme cleansers. But I thought I'd give this a try. Of course creme cleansers are more moist and soothing than gel ones. I actually tend to like this product. It smells great, the bottle is beautiful and it leaves my skin soft and moist for hours. Will purchase again.

Here's my beef with this cleanser...it should be awesome. It smells fantastic, the bottle is beautiful, it promises organic ingredients, the texture is lovely...but when the product goes to work it just doesn't cut it. My make up is still lingering, my sensitive skin is dry and uncomfortable, and I feel as if I need to wash, rinse and repeat. Just not worth the money for me...even though I wish it weren't this way!

I tried this for the first time about 2 months ago. For the most part, I'm not a huge Aveda fan; I think the products are not as effective as they lead on to be. However, there a few products of theirs that do impress me and this certainly has become one of them. I have normal to dry skin that can be very sensitive and this treats it beautifully. I love a creame cleanser, and this one is the perfect consistency and does not leave a residue, only soft, cleansed skin. I love the smell (very Aveda) but it may some people off. I know it's silly to spend more than necessary on a cleanser considering its on your face for about 2 minutes, but considering how well my face reacts to this I think its worth it. I like that its in a glass bottle (for recylcing) but it can be a pain since its so fragile. After the holidays I'm on a tighter budget so I've had to go back to a d/s cleanser but I'll definitely be going back to this soon.

I love this cleanser!
Have been using it for 1 month, alone in the morning and as a makeup remover in the evening. So far so good. I am combinational towards the oily side, prone to break outs. A bit hesitant at first cuz it's stated for "dry skin", but so far I haven't seen any bad reaction. Skin feels soft and supple afterwards, don't have to rush to moisturizer. I do add another foam cleanser after it in sweaty/dirty days though.

I absolutely love this cleanser. It's the only cream cleanser I've found that I can use with water and it actually takes every last drop of makeup off (including mascara). I just wet my face and use one pump for my eye makeup and another pump for the rest of my face. Just massage for a minute or so and everything comes off. I stray and keep coming back to it. It doesn't burn my eyes and smells really nice. It's great for winter because it leaves your skin smooth and soft, not dry. I've tried all kinds of creamy cleansers, including d/s cleansers, trying to find one that lives up to Aveda, but no such luck. Most of them leave makeup on my face (I test by swiping with toner afterwards) or black streaks around my eyes. During the summer months I sometimes switch to the gel cleanser just because my face is more oily, but, even then, I can still use the cream cleanser and it works just fine. I love the pretty glass pump bottle and the fact that it comes with a plastic "lock" that makes it great for traveling. UPDATE: When wearing heavier foundations/eye makeup I've noticed I need to use a wet washcloth to rinse this off to completely remove all traces of residue. This is a great non-drying cleanser, though.
