I was given a sample of this, and I've tried it for a week. I didn't get the ingredient list, but I just assumed it would be okay...I was wrong. Apparently it has alcohol on the list (pretty high up too) and that's nothing I would want near my face. So this didn't do anything. It felt nice, but that's the only nice thing. The packaging is chic as well, but those are the only 2 good points I will ever give this.

As a side note, I'm iffy about makeup brands that try to sell a skincare line. I just don't buy it. And at $60 a pop? No thanks, I'll pass.

I've gone through two containers of this Mud Mask. Sadly, the product doesn't last me very long and it is pretty expensive for what it is. I normally love NARS skincare (the brightening serum is amazing!), but this mask was just okay for me. I get very similar results using the cheap Queen Helene Mint Julep mask, and I'd rather save 40 dollars and skip out on the glamorous packaging.

It draws out impurities, blackheads, and leaves me with glowing, 'detoxed' skin. Normally, I use it once a week after exfoliating and apply a thin layer. I have normal to slightly dry skin in the winter, and if I follow with a good moisturizer I normally don't suffer from any dryness from this mask.

Ok, fantastic sleek packaging, but don't let this fool you. The 3rd listed ingredient is ALCOHOL, which is a known skin irritant, and this broke me out after using it. Also contains TALC, for those of you sensitive to it. Initially after using, my pores were smaller and all that, but I think it was just the drying effect of this mask. My skin felt noticeably drier after using it. The day after, I had a few pimples and a few are still popping up here and there. I had clear skin before using this mask! Ugh. I wouldn't have ordered this if Sephora.com actually listed the full list of ingredients out on their site instead of like...3, which is completely inaccurate.

I've just tried a sample of this stuff and so far I LOVE IT! I can see the difference almost immediately, my complexion seems to be more even and brighter! I'm very tempted to buy the full size product and yet I do think the price is a bit extreme. The smell isn't very appealing to me but if I can get the same results every time then I'm willing to settle for it.

I need to scab another sample elsewhere to determine if it's worth the price :P

I first had a sample of this mask about 4 years ago and quite liked it but was put off from the price of it, though it stayed in the back of my mind.

Through the years of being quite disappointed with skin care purchases and breaking out easily, I decided to go ahead and purchase a full size of this and i'm glad I did. It was what I remembered, making my skin brighter, smoother looking. I have been using it once a week and it has really made a difference in my opinion. No breakouts from it.

I heard wonders about this product so I tried it... well, it didn't go as I expected... my skin felt soft afterwards but the mask had drained ALL the moisture from my skin (I have a combo skin but it is dehydrated). As a result, my skin felt tight for a MONTH, even after I applied moisturizer like crazy. I do love NARS products but I think I just picked something it wasn't for me. I had to return it.

I don't know whether it's this mask .or the NARS primer or the Estee Lauder regenerist I have been using but my skin has FEWER BREAKOUTS. VISIBLY TIGHTER PORES and has an EVEN TONE!
I don't know which product did this but I have been using this mask religiously every other day for over a month and NO IRRITATION what so ever!
I like it!

I stopped using Nars make up due to the disappointing quality of their products and the skin care is not very impressive either. It smells of menthol and it is very drying. awfu

I use this mask about once or twice a week. My skin is pretty good, so I'm not relying on this for any miracles. My skin feels very smooth, clean and refined after using this. The best thing I like about this mask is how easily it goes on, and how it doesn't harden, something that really bothers me with regular mud masks... It takes a long time to use up, since you only need a little, because it's so easy to spread a thin layer. The texture and colour of this mask makes it feel like this is the way a classic mud mask should be. It's a luxury, and just feels great to put on. It's expensive, but I will buy it again, because it is a joy to use.

PROS:
- easy to apply and washes off easily too.
- despite being called a "mud mask", its actually quite smooth and therefore comes on in a thin layer (which you can build on), but a little can go a long way so it will last a while.
- once off, my skin felt baby soft.
CONS:
- was not very deep cleansing.
- this is more of a mask for those blessed with good skin! it'll give you a nice clean. But for those looking for some sort of "activity" from their mask (pore cleansing, refining, etc), this is going to disappoint.
- if it wasnt so expensive, I might still buy it and use it once in a while, but in addition to another mask regularly. However, its far too pricey for just "once in a while."

I cant believe i actually found this! PERFECT! a very HG material again from NARS, this past week i have been trying nars and a single product havent ruin my NARS EXPERIENCE!. About this mask: The mask is a black claylike (mud) oil absorbing mask. The consistency is very good! after i apply it, i will wait for like 15 minutes and rinse it with warm water. and after that voila! PERFECT, DEWY-MATTE skin!. And i actually develop pimple every after day, but now im wondering why it stopped. as in the time i started using this, I HAVENT DEVELOPED A SINGLE PIMPLE ON MY FACE! and my makeup now goes smoother, my fine lines are visibly gone (means foundatin will not accentuate any lines) and one thing ti describe it... "PERFECT" LOVE LOVE NARS SO MUCH!

I really like this masque, my skin looks brighter the next day and it doesn't irritate my skin at all. The only thing I don't like about it is the price. Kinda expensive for a small jar. I will try some other stuff and see if they can match up to this. If not I'll come back to this again.

I've tried a lot of masks - but this is my first mud mask that actually looks like mud! Clean, pretty mud of course. I really like using this mask - whenever I see that my skin is not looking as well as I like it, or when I have some breakouts, I always go back to this - It's gently and never causes a problem. I find that my skin instantly starts to look better.

I have used several samples of this mud mask. I have very fair, somewhat sensitive skin with occasional breakouts from being lazy with my skincare routine. This mask is fabulous--improves skin tone and texture with great moisturizing results.I spot treat any acne and it will usually clear it up in less than 2 days. I will definitely buy this again!

Amazing, amazing, amazing product!! I've been using this mask for years and years and there has not been a single second that I want to try something else for a deep cleansing mask. I've used about 6-7 jars now (I stopped counting after the 5th). Honestly, I always loved to try new products but I just can't find anything that can compare to this so it has been the only stable product for the past 3 years. I think that is enough for you to know how much I love this mask! :) The mask is easy to apply, spread and remove. It never dried out my skin or caused any reactions. My skin felt soft, refresh, radiant, and brighter after. You can use it before going out to give you that "glow". The price is very reasonable for the quality and amount you got ($65 CAN and $45 US). I also love the glass jar even though it's heavy and can be a little difficult to use up all the mask from the bottom of the jar. This is definitely my HG!

I bought this after it was recommended for my ORNT skintype in "The Skin Type Solution" book by Leslie Baumann. I really, really love this mask. About an hour or two after I apply my m/u, I look a little shiny...not like an oil-well, but a little shinier than I like. Well, this mask totally solved that. It takes care of any shininess without stripping it. The price is really high, so I'm not sure I will purchase it again. I am using it very sparingly, though and it looks like it will last a long time.

THIS IS THE BEST FACE MASK I'VE EVER USED. Really, i go crazy for this one. IT clears out all my pores, but dosent make my face feel tight afterwards like most masks do. I dont even need to use a moisturizer after this one, since it has serious moisturizing properties.

I was going through awfu breakouts, and all my usual products of were just making my skin worse. I was using this as a once-a-week mask and liked how my skin felt afterwards--glowing and soft, but I hadn't noticed any change in my breakouts or readness. and acne was lessened. I saw a mud cleanser from another brand and thought, "Why can't I use this mask as a cleanser?" After a few days, my breakouts have slowly cleared and my skin is glowing. It is a bit expensive to use as an everyday cleanser, but if it works...I'm keeping my fingers crossed my skin will be cleared in a few weeks. Will update soon.

I think this is a pretty good mud mask, but not good enough to pay $45 for! I love the fact that it doesn't make my face feel tight and un-movable and it does leave my pores pretty clean and my face soft; but many products can do the same things for waaay less money.

Btw, there actually is one more plus to this mask: it's very calming/soothing. Once in a while I'll get a really bad stress breakout and I'll use Differen for a couple of days-which pretty much makes my skin feel like it's on fire. Any product that touches my face for the next week or so usually stings, but this mask didn't hurt a bit and actually made my skin less irritated and red.
