I wanted to like this but the scent does not mesh well with my body chemistry. I feel foolish for purchasing this.

This is the deodorant for me. It is the only one I've found that doesn't contain aluminum, while still being effective against body odour. I have it in fitness fresh and quite like the smell-sort of like clean laundry.
EDIT: stopped working, if it ever really worked. I started noticing smelling, and my clothes smelling a bit at the end of the day in the armpit region. not good.

I am extraordinarily picky about deodorants, and so far this is my favorite. It does a much better than average job of keeping me dry and inoffensive and, unlike most women's "invisible" deodorants, this one does not make a mess of my clothes or turn into a chalky mess on my skin. I couldn't even count the number of shirts I've had ruined by aluminum-containing products (greasy stains and gummy seams). Finding an effective, aluminum-free deodorant is pretty tough, especially if you aren't willing to go about your day smelling like Right Guard, but Adidas delivers. I smell fine, not spanking fresh, but fine after a 16 hour day wearing this, and the fitness fresh scent is very agreeable. Am I the only one who thinks that 99.9% of women's deodorants smell like portable toilets? My only complaints are that this product can be quite hard to find, and that I do have to keep a stick of Dove around to use after shaving, as this is a little sharp on raw skin. For the record, the men's Ice Dive version of the same product is also quite good, but has a stronger fragrance.
Who knew there could be a deodorant out there that didn't make me miserable?

Hi, i just want to say that i have tried Crystal deodorant, which has the ingredient potassium alum, which is part aluminum, this same ingredient is also in the "deodorant stone" "Thai deodorant stone" or any deodorant that claims to only have natural mineral salts. I just want to clarify, the reason why these work so well is because it has aluminum, if you read the label it says "mineral salts" aluminum IS SALT, or mineral salt. This is the same salt that makes up the aluminum in most antiperspirants. I found this out after reading about it online and calling the company, they claim that it is not as absorbed in the skin as other antiperspirants, but that statement cannot be justified.
That being said, i have also tried arm and hammer natural deodorant "fresh" scent, that is aluminum free and paraban free, also i have tried the baking soda technique and the crystal deodorant spray. Crystal works best, but if you really want the best advice, first wash the armpits throughly. Then use a little less than a dime size amount of baking soda and a splash of water spread evenly between the 2 armpits, and then use a cotton ball to dabble away any excess amount. Then once this has dried, use your favorite non aluminum deodorant, i alternate between the arm and hammer deodorant, and Adidas. If the baking soda technique is not used, you will smell like a rotten inion. Believe me, i sweat a lot and the sweat is not really going to decline but you will not stink, you may need to re-apply in midday. Also make sure to apply 9-10 circular strokes of the deodorant with good coverage, this makes a big difference in you stinking or not.And when you re-apply you only need about 4 strokes. I have also heard of using milk of magnesia, about a tablespoon for both arm pits, heard it works wonders, never tied it. It will be my next conquest. Good luck to all women, and remember aluminum causes breast cancer and Alzheimerz. And before you use the "deodorant stone", "The Thai deodorant stone" or "crystal deodorant" research the ingredients in their so called mineral salts, potassium alum. Here are the specs for those who want to be informed:

I agree the fitness fresh smels like men's cologne. I prefer the powder scent although I don't truly "like" it. But it's tolerable. Anyway, this is indeed a tad sticky and certainly won't control wetness like an antiperspirant, but it is aluminum and paraben free and that is what I am looking for. It does a good enough job although when summer hits I will have to give myself a whiff to see if it holds up. In the dead of winter I can easily get away with less protection. I will buy again, mainly because it can be swiped on quickly (unlike Kiss My Face liquid rock roll-on, which works well but takes a while to dry and often leaves my pits red). I'm not too smelly as a rule so YMMV. But worth a shot if you want aluminum-free. EDITED: Stopped using this since it has triclosan which is I believe banned in the EU. I think it has toxicity issues and it contributes to resistant bacteria to boot (although I don't know if it does the latter in one's pits)

Well, it doesn't work for 24 hours as it claims. I like the fact that it is more natural than other deoderants, with it's cotton technology thing, and I kind of like the scent. I got two in a BOGOF sale, so I have the sporty blue cap scent and the pink powder scent. I like the scent of the powder one more, although it doesn't smell powdery, kind of like roses. It's not unpleasant. I don't like that it only deoderizes for 12 hours, though. If I put it on in the morning after my shower, I stink at bedtime. So I won't be buying it again.

I tried this because it was on sale and I had a coupon. I wasn't nuts about the scent but it's so subtle I barely notice it. It goes on clear and keeps me dry and fresh, but I got some irritation. Not a lot. Oh well, I only paid 62 cents for it. I will go back to my crystal rock deodorant.

This was a very basic deodorant. Didn't perform miracles but kept me quite dry and odourless. I liked the big ball. It didn't take too much time to dry so that I could get dressed.
The only con was that I happened to pick the wrong bottle with a very powdery scent which I didn't like. I'll probably be repurchasing, but definetely in another scent.

I'll be perfectly honest. I didn't even use this for more than a couple of days before I stopped using it. The scent of "Pure Powder" was nauseating upon application, my underarms felt kind of sticky, and I wasn't about to go around smelling like this all the time. It's weird, because I used to use an Adidas antiperspirant before I couldn't find it anymore, and that "Pure Powder" scent was light and clean smelling. Not like this one, which packs a certain "in-your-face" scent.
To be fair, I realize that some people say that your underarms need time to adjust to a deodorant that's not an antiperspirant, and things will kick in after a while. I'm not saying this doesn't work in that respect -- I'm saying the smell straight up turned me off altogether that I didn't even want to bother finding out if it could control wetness and all that jazz. What's the point if I feel like I already stink?

This is an effective aluminum-free and paraben-free deodorant that doesn't leave white marks, doesn't require drying time, and it's cheap and easy to find! For me, it holds up great for 8 hours on its own, but stays strong for 12 hours when Crystal Deodorant Rock is applied underneath (as mentioned by kak513 in her review 3 down from mine). I use the Icy Burst scent, and it's pretty mild, blends in well with most my perfume. I wish they made an unscented version, but oh well. I decided that I don't want to clog up my pores and lymph nodes with aluminum or parabens. I weaned myself off antiperspirants 3 years ago, then began my quest to find an effective organic deodorant. After trying 8 different kinds of natural and organic deodorants, I've learned that Crystal Deodo-Rock products work best, and natural products need to be used in combination (usually with crystal rock) to get odor protection that lasts more than 4 hours. Seriously, I don't always have time for that, so I use this Adidas stuff instead and I'm a stink-free girl all day. This product is not organic, but it's aluminum and paraben free, which is better than most deodorant products on the market.

Since I am allergic to aluminum, I can only use pure deodorant. I stumbled upon this during my search and it seems to be working well so far (and it is dirt cheap- nice)! I have used both the baby powder scent and the fitness fresh....I prefer the fitness fresh. I will use this from now on...or until something better comes along that is aluminum free!
UPDATE: This has been discontinued and replaced by one that contains aluminum. Thankfully I was able to snatch up about 5 at Big Lots for about $1.50 each. Still mad that they stopped making this!

Apparently I developed an allergy to aluminum-based deoderants, thus broke out in an ugly rash- not a pretty sight, not to mention painful. I asked around and was directed to this product, as it's alumimum-free and touted as a deoderant, not an anti-perspirant. Since I don't sweat buckets I wasn't worried about that as much as I was my allergy problems. I tried it, and fell in love with it. It doesn't sting, burn or irritate, even after shaving and doesn't leave white marks on my clothes like so many do (even when they say they aren't supposed to!). I buy the powder-fresh scent and haven't had any more allergy problems and it does the job nicely as a deoderant. It even seems to control wetness, so perhaps that "cotton" does absorb after all. In any case, it works great for me so if other products aren't working for you or you develop an allergy to them, it's probably the aluminum, so give this stuff a try.

I had to search around forever to find this--it seems to be the only non-aluminum deodorant that works for some people--and finally found it at horrible Wal-Mart for $1.47, plus 60% more free. Sweet deal. Anyway, Fitness Fresh is a bit overpowering in the tube--like industrial citrus and something I can't put my finger on, but sleek to apply, and I didn't notice any overwhelming scent on my person afterward. I applied it at about 8am, and I can already smell my underarms at noon, although I do have to lift my arms to get a whiff. I'm just sitting in a cool office, too, not jogging around, so while it might be okay for lazing about, it certainly won't hold up in any situation when I really need it. I'll try this for a few more days (I have my own office, so I won't be punishing anyone) and see how it goes.
Edit: 6/25/2007 - Since this wasn't working for me, I thought I'd try the Naturally Fresh Deodorant Crystal Spray Mist that I found at Big Lots for $2. The Crystal Rock didn't work for me, but I thought that this product might get more of the salt to apply to my skin. It was definitely an improvement over the rock, but I only got a half day of odor-freeness. I then tried applying this as a first layer under the Adidas--2 squirts per underarm, let dry, and then apply the Adidas. So far, so good! I've been able to have stinkless days with this combination, and stay aluminum-free to boot!

I bought this because it has no aluminum and because a friend of mine bought it and liked it. I have to say I'm one of those who LOVES it. It keeps me quite dry and doesn't make my underarms parched. Even now that the weather is getting warmer it's still great. Maybe it is the cotton in here or some other ingredients that keep me dry but I think it's great. Oh and it does a MUCH better job at keeping me from stinking (my biggest concern) than other antiperspirants do. I didn't bother to smell them before I got them so I randomly chose Fitness Fresh. It seems to work well with my body chemistry and I don't think it stinks. I usually don't repurchase a deodorant twice cause I'm always trying new ones but I will for sure get this again! EDIT Dec 21st 2007: I am still in love with this stuff :)

I love this stuff. I've been using it for over a year now. It doesn't clog my pits, and I still smell good. I bought the Fitness Fresh flavor once... that was a mistake, yuck! But otherwise, I'm sooo thrilled to be off anti-perspirant!

One of the better non-aluminium deos I've used. I was using a natural roll-on by Ombra (a German company that makes herbal bodywashes and skincare), but after 3 bottles I got fed up with the extremely strong scent that clashed with all my perfumes, and the fact that it doesn't mask odour as well as I wanted. Instead it blended with my bo and was just rank on the days I really sweat. So I had used this over the summer in the cotton-scented verison and I thought it wasn't bad. This time I bought the Icy Blast scent, and it's fresh and well-icy smelling. I have no idea how this will perform under pressure at the gym, but I have high hopes. I now some hate that this doesn't work excellently, but I don't mind keeping one in my purse to reapply during the day. So far I'm not sure I'll buy again, but right now I have it as yes.

This deodorant gets 5 lippies because it doesn't make me smell , it is cheap, and it is the best deodorant I’ve found that DOES NOT contain aluminum (yes, I believe aluminum is bad for you & you shouldn't rub it in your skin). There seems to be two camps for this deodorant- you either like it, or you hate it. If you hate it, you're probably looking for an antiperspirant (i.e. something that stops your pores from sweating AND contains aluminum). This product does keep me dry- maybe it is the “cotton tech +” technology it claims to have, but I’m not sure what that is. It doesn’t however stop me from extreme nervous sweating, like for a job interview. I will switch to a regular antiperspirant for that situation, but for everything else this seems to work great for me and keeps me dry & I don’t smell like bad b.o. or curry.

This deodorant isn't perfect, but it works better than any other aluminum-free deodorant I've used (Tom's, Jason, Alba, etc.). It's NOT an anti-perspirant (there seemed to be some confusion about that in a few of the reviews), so don't expect strong wetness control. That said, I find it works fine for me, and I perspire quite a bit when I'm hot or working out. I've tried a few of the scents and I don't find any of them offensive. The texture can be a bit gritty, but I don't get any irritation in my armpits. I like it, and I'm on my third container so far. The only gripe is that the top can be difficult to remove.

This is a horrible antiperspirant/deoderant. The packaging looks good, but I always have trouble removing the cap. Everything else about this is awful. It applies extremely moist, taking at least 10 minutes to dry. It makes me smell worse than not using anything. And it made my underarms yellow, as well as the skin there starting to get peely. I will not purchase again.
