I am super surprised that this cream has such harsh reviews... i have had a lot of luck with it, overall. I would normally define my skin as being a combination of oily with really dry patches. It makes everything so miserable and overly complicated, because i exfoliate my whole face, and then use a cleaner B.P. based to use on the oily sections- trying not to get any on the dry sections because it just driez it out that much more. Afterwards, I need another cleaner to clean my whole face, usually a cream cleaner to treat the more dry patches. Its just a pain! I was reading an article that said 70% of woman mis-diagnose their their skin type. I assumed that the parts of my face were oily because its where i tend to break out. ANYWAY- i got it all wrong. I have DRY- acne prone skin. So to treat it, I use many wonderful products, with olay regenerist night cream being part of my regimen. After I use my toner at night, and my face is dry- I treat my acne with a spot treatment and then I use this cream on my entire face and neck- rub it in until most of it is saturated. I use a good amount, just because I have fairly dry skin... Unlike others, I LOVE the scent of this cream. It is not harsh, or super strong. Compared to some of the others that either dont smell at all, or totally smell horrid- this one is refreshing. Its very light, so after I put it on, I can smell it for 20mins or so until it fully dries, and then I can no longer smell it at all. I dont get a tight feeling, or the feeling of a 'mini face lift'... i just get the feeling of deep moisturization, that works really well overnight and the olay day cream works well all day long- keeping my skin flake free, ultra hydrated (which has cut down tremendously the amount of break outs I get). I occasionally get a few zits, but I never attribute them to this face cream. I wouldn't recommend this cream to someone with super oily skin- only because I think it would lock in the oil. However, this has helped my dry skin with staying soft, day and night, leaves me with an awesome complexion, gives me the perfect amount of moisture- not leaving me feel oily after I use it. I have learned through my research and by trail and error that if you have acne prone skin (on the dry side), using products for acne only make the problem worse- as weird as that may sound. If you have dry- acne prone skin, you need a good day and night moisturizer to keep oil at bay, and lock in the pores with moisture and hydration vs. oil... And this is the perfect cream to start with. Its not super heavy, but not a light moisturizer either. Its lightly scented which shouldnt irritate unless you have ultra sensitive skin. Give it a try- I know I have really benefited from this product, and I intend to keep using it. I docked 1 lippie because of the price. I know its not SUPER expensive, but I use enough of it, that after 2 months, I am buying a new one, because the jar is fairly small. I will still rebuy over and over again....

Was not right for me, too heavy. Plus it stank to high heavens and had a waxy texture. Pores never looked so huge, magnified each and every fine line. Sat on my face for hours without sinking in. Returned to store.

Really like my Olay Regenerist Night Recovery Moisturizing Treatment. Really did wonders for my dry skin during the last winter time. One thing is if you are acne prone I would advise staying away from it. A lot of my girlfriends steer clear of this product because they claim it broke them out.
On that note, I have never seen a pimple from it and really overall love this product. Its so silky and smooth and leaves my face feeling invigorated the whole next day. I truly look forward to putting this on my face throughout the day and it used to give me excitement when bed time is coming!

I just saw a recent reviewer explain she got pimples from this, and sometimes I do too. I`m using it more as handcream till it`s finished.
I find it a soft, lovely feeling cream and it`s hydrating but I do get pimples forming when I`ve used this.
I prefer using Olay`s black labelled night cream with BHA in it, I forget the name right now, or Regenerist Serum or Neutrogena the dark blue and silver one for night with retinol and hyaluronic acid.
I think Paula was right about the jar packaging. The good antioxidents burn out fast in the jar package which is open to the air. Pump or squeeze tube are better. I wonder if the antioxidents when they go, become irritating because this stuff worked best when new. Now a few months later, the pimples.

I've never broken out from a night cream ever in my life but this stuff gave me pimples on my chin, nose, forehead all at once like I have never seen my skin do before. This happened a few days after i started using it. I thought it was a coincidence and have now been using it for 3 weeks and I've a face full of pimples. NEVER buying it again.

This retails for about $20, but I got it for $16 at a big box warehouse. To me, the price isn't really that bad. I was using a sample of something that was almost 4 times the price of this.
So far, I like it. It does moisturize, without being too rich. It does make the skin feel smoother in the morning. I can't complain. The scent doesn't bother me. Then agian, scented products don't bother me unless they cause a rash. I would say this is good and affordable.

I use it but would switch to something else if I could find a better cream. The pro is that my skin does look a bit smoother in the morning after I use it. However the effect doesn't last more than a day (ie it's not really fixing the skin problems, just masking them). Also, it's not very moisturizing and I still get flaky skin sometimes with it.

My mom uses this, and she gave me one to try too. It broke my face out terribly the first time I used it!! I have normal skin on the dry side, and I rarely break out badly, but this stuff did it! I tried it a second time a few days ago, hoping that the first time was a coincidence. Not so, this product broke my face out again, even on my cheeks! My cheeks tend to be the driest parts of my face, and I have NEVER broken out like this product made me on my cheeks. The packaging is nice, but the product is terrible, especially for the price. The smell is also very overpowering, not super terrible, but there's definitely a more "older woman" scent. I definitely would not recommend this.

Once again, Olay makes a nice product with an intolerable smell. I liked the way this worked and loved the elegant formula, but neither I nor anybody else in the house could deal with the strong lingering fragrance. I had to return it. Olay, when are you going to get the message?

Okay, yes, the smell is perfume-y and a bit overbearing (I smell like my mom after putting this stuff on). However, it really does effectively hydrate my skin - I am 28 years old with combo skin, and I'm using night creams for prevention. That being said, I can't slather on a generous amount of this cream or else I break out, but using a moderate and reasonable amount of this product at night does make my skin feel soft and hydrated in the morning, proving that this product does contain ingredients that effectively smooth out your skin. As for the price, I don't feel like shelling out more than $30 for high-end products that will yield similar results, so the cost of approximately $20 something USD seems like a bargain to me (my fiance actually bought mine in a 2-pack at Costco, score!).

I bought this as an urgent need for my trip to NYC during the winter. This is recommended to be used in the night as a night moisturizer but I beg to differ. This was not rich enough to be used as a night cream since my face felt tight after applying. I like my night creams to be a little rich in order to replenish my skin. So instead I used the remainder as a day moisturizer.
I don't recommend this for people with combination skin/dry skin like me since it is simply not enough to moisturize at night.

I put no for repurchase on this but I may change my mind. I think the price is a little up there but if it works well it will be worth it.
I like the feel of the cream going on. It is smooth and thick. It is definitely for night use only. Day time would be a grease ball. It takes a good hour to soak in and you can still feel the moisture on the surface but when I wake up in the morning my skin is soft and smooth and more even. I have been using it for a week so I don't know about reducing wrinkles yet. I don't have a lot. Just a little smile lines and a small crease on my forehead.
The con, and it's considerable for me. It smells so perfumey. I have a very sensitive nose and this is just a lot of smell. It gives me a headache and makes my stomachs hurt. I have to go right to bed after putting it on. I will try to use up the jar at least if the smell doesn't do me in first. At the end of the jar I will weigh the results to the smell and decide if it's worth it.

I have been using this product under my eyes because the rest of my skin doesn't need such intense moisturizer ... And it does have a nice hydrating effect .... but ...the smell is so strong I just can't stand it anymore. Another reviewer said she would use the rest of it on her feet so it wouldn't go to waste and that sounds like a good idea to me. The farther away from my nose the better... I have never understood why companies feel the need to overpower their products with fragrance. It's unnecessary and a huge turn off. If I could attempt to describe the smell it's like a really strong cheap perfume that might be worn by an 80 year old woman who lost all of her olfactory senses.

I have been using Boots Night cream..I believe it is firming and lifting...It always left my skin dewey and moist in the morning...Although it did not actually change the firmness or lift...I decided to change and give Olay Regenerist night recovery cream a try...WORST decision...Let's start with the color and texture: gray and like a plumbing glue...I put it on at night and in 30 minutes it is as if I did not put anything on at all..Worst still, in the morning, my skin is dry...This mess is total c___. Please save your money...

Okay, I love Olay Total Effect Gentle SPF 15 and non SPF 15 cream, so I went ahead and bought this night cream. Worst decision even. within few day developed few huge cystic acne. I bought at SGD 25, while TE Gentle cream I bought at SGD12.90. Regret big time.
Glad that after I switch back to TE plus Retin-A, the acne bumps flatten. I may try to use back this cream again, maybe after my mense.

Im 18 so i dont see a mini lift effect, nor was i expecting too. I wash my face at night with benzoyl peroxide which is very drying after I apply this night cream and in the morning i can skip my moisturizer because my face still feels soft and moisturized from the night before. I will definitely repurchase and this time Im not sharing with my mom lol

The product claims to give a "mini-lift" to the skin each morning, but I did not notice any improvement in skin tone or texture after a few weeks of daily night time use. On the contrary, this cream did not provide adequate hydration on my dry/combination skin. I often woke up with patches of flaking skin. In addition, I believe this sparked a few acne break outs. The lavender/flowery scent is overpowering, unnecessary, and likely the cause of irritation in my case. I discontinued use on my face and used the remaining product as a foot cream. Seems more appropriate to put lavender on the feet, rather than the face. The product ingredients list includes peptide actives and antioxidants, but I did not see the more noticeable results I have experienced from other brands with peptide/antioxidant actives. This leads me to believe that the peptides are unstable in the jar packaging, low in concentration, and/or rendered useless when combined with the other product ingredients.

This cream was too heavy on my skin. It also caused EXTREME acne. I've never had such a terrible acne breakout until I began using this product. I will not say that no one should try the product because I know many who love it. I have extremely sensitive skin and I believe that this product is simply too harsh for my skin type. So for me, I will never use this product again.

I have been using this product for the past 2 years and I guess it's time to move on. I love how it feels - but that's about it. It has not changed the appearance of my skin as I am looking for something to give me a nice even skin tone. Any suggestions anyone?

I've used this on and off, and am not a fan of it as a night cream. It's really thick and smells gross. Kind of feels like it's made of lots of silicones. Also feels like it doesn't quite absorb into skin, but rather sits on top of it. I've since moved on to another night cream, so started using this as body lotion, and even then it's pretty heavy. Olay makes much better night creams than this.
