I LOVE ELLE, it looks nothing like it does on when u see it in the tube, It looks pearly and white, but it goes on pink. I tried it in the new holiday 2009 set and fell in love with it! The smell is always wonderful. I NEED A FULL SIZE

I wish I could buy this color again! This color is crazy! It comes on milky but looks pink because of the red pearl in it! This is my favorite color of all time right now!

Elle is a MAC Lipglass. If you want reviews on the formula & format, you can check out the general review. Me, I find it somewhat sticky, but I don't mind it since this means more staying powder IME. It has decent coverage and the vanilla scent is nice. I own many more Lipglasses and I'm always willing to try new shades, since I do like the formula & format (although I'm not too much of a fan of the applicator: I prefer a brush)

On to the color. Elle shade is quite unique. In the tube, it looks scary white/creamy opalescent. If you look closely, you can see tiny specks of red shimmer (too small to be considered glitter). When I got my tube (bought it off ebay) I thought it was my biggest MAC mistake up to day. But, hell no.

Once applied, the color pretty much transforms and looks nothing like you'd expect from wathcing it in the tube. This goes on like a clear gloss (since the base color is so light I think it actually tones down a teeny bit my natural lip color) and the tiny red specks are uniformly distributed to create a sheer soft pink sheen. Very natural and polished. You can notice you are wearing a gloss, since it's really shiny and you do get some color on your lips. But it's the kind of gloss that, without looking obvious at all, really makes you look finished and pretty.

I can't do pink on my lips, only warmer shades of pink (eg, mixed with gold, etc) This is a way of adding a subtle pink sheen to my lips to complete looks that call for that shade but that, otherwise, I wouldn't be able to pull off.

So there you go. Elle is my pink alternative (otherwise, I'd be wearing VGV lipglass) and I'm sad it's discontinued. If it wasn't I'd probably repurchase.

Would I buy this if I could YES! I love this color! Too bad it's LE :( It's a creamy off-white ivory kind of color in the tube, but if you look at it closley, you can see the copper/red/pink pearl. And it goes on like a nude with copper/red/pink pearl. It's so unique. It has all the qualities of the glasses, sticky, pretty long wearability, the great vanilla scent. This one though has a dark copper/brown top. It just sucks that is LE.

But if I got the chance to buy it again, I'd do so in a heartbeat!

It was released in 2005 with Belle Azure. Very original colour. Looks like your typical clear white glittery gloss but it's got a gorgeous reddish sheen in it that shows up on your lips as a very natural light pink, not Barbie pink, but very subtle and pearly. Gorgeous! Found this in a CCO last summer, shame it was LE! Other identical colour is Phosphorelle, which was released later, in June 2006 with Lure.

This is hot! My boyfriend thinks this looks so sexy! I would have never tried it based on how it looks before applied. Once on, it is a beautiful nude/opalescent kind of color. Looks great with a smokey eye and nude lip liner. I reach for it more often than I thought I would.

I like this gloss, but it wasn't as amazing as the reviews here led me to expect. I haven't tried it over other lipsticks yet. It looks okay on its own, but it isn't much more impressive than any other clear gloss I own.

I normally go for the lustreglasses, but Elle was so intriguing! So glad I got it off Nordies, it is part of my HG/everyday lipglass collection. :) I reach for it often because it's sheer enough for day wear, but pretty enough to make it more than MLBB. I like how it has that extra opalescent sheen, but it's kinda weird sometimes. I can kinda see the "shing!" on my lips which is kinda unnerving, but I still like it because of the original color and RED PEARL! It's like MLBB if my lips were naturally glossy. hehe Just enough shine to look like I'm wearing something pretty, but quietly subtle enough to wear often. I guess the opalescent in it makes it look different from day to night so I don't need to switch l/g for a night look. Bonus! hehe

Elle has to be one of the most beautiful glosses ever made! It's deffinitelly a misleading color in the tube, but once applied creates a wet, sexy naked pearl look. Why I waited this long to purchase?? I have no idea, but I need a backup ASAP!

This is one of my favorite glosses MAC or otherwise and I am sure I have over a hundred. It looks too white in the tube, but once on it is a beautiful shiny, reflective, shimmery nude/pink/gold color. It really blends with my pigmented lips and lets them show through. I bought it without even trying it on mainly because it was LE, I thought it might be pretty and if I didnt like it, I could just swap it. As soon as I used it, I turned around and went back to buy another. I love it.

I love this gloss! It's just SO pretty on- very different from how it looks in the tube. It goes on milky-clear with pink iridescence and it makes my lips look shiny and super plump. I had to buy a back-up of this because it's so beautiful and so LE. Does MAC make things LE because they are fabulous, or are they fabulous because they are LE? Or is just to drive us all slowly insane? Either way, grab this gloss while you can.

I must steal a song line from Disney's Aladdin to encompass the grandur of this gloss. Elle lipglass is, "Shining, Shimmering, Splendid." Yet perhaps more importantly it still manages to be subtle. It's not super frosty and it lacks those obnoxious chuncks of glitter that MAC is notorious for. Instead it is infused with red pearl particles. Since it's basically clear kicked up a notch it's pretty much failproof and would suit most skintones and situations. In other words: I wish they would make this a part of the permanent MAC line.

I love this l/g! It's one step up from a clear glass on my pigmented lips, a shiny natural pink with faint pearl.

After a few weeks of thinking about buying Elle lipglass, I finally broke down and bought it when I was at a MAC counter. It looks almost yellow in the tube with a bit of red shimmer. On my pigmented lips, however, this turns into a baby pink-it basically tones down my lips into an incredibly girly, shiny color with barely noticable red shimmer. At first, I wasn't too impressed, thinking that it was pretty much clear, but when I looked at my lips in natural light, it was definitely a gorgeous pink. I love the texture-this lipglass is really thick, but not too sticky, and the scent is wonderful. I'd buy this one again if I could ever find it-it's LE, unfortunately.

ohohoh I do love this! The color - as described below, looks milky white in the tube but is a sheer looking opal pink on the lips. My friend who saw me applying it said ' Oh my gosh, why would you wear WHITE lipgloss!?' but when she saw it on, she went to MAC to buy her own! Another thing I love about this l/g, after most of the gloss is gone ( it actually has a pretty good staying power) you still have a pink opal sheen on the lips! I really love it!

I love love love this lipglass!
In general, I'm partial to the lusterglasses because I prefer the texture. I actually bought this and Magnetique from the Belle Azure collection on a whim, and I'm so very glad I did. Elle is amazing on its own and gorgeous over Magnetique - it probably looks good over anything! Go get it now! :D

After reading all the great reviews for this l/g, I had to go get it! It really is a very unique shade - it looks milky white in the tube, but it glimmers opalescent pink once on the lips. I tried layering it over Syrup lipstick and the combination of the two looks really similar to Nymphette lip gloss, but not as peachy-gold. Worn alone, it also makes a good almost-nude lip look - just a very glossy, pink lip. I'll definitely be using this a lot over the summer!

Elle is the best lipglass in the Belle Azure collection. It looks off-white in the tube, but applies as a sheer opalescence with a slight red pearl. It looks good on it's own or over other lip colors. Now if I could only switch the bronze cap for a black one...
