So I'm looking for a no-nonsense, honest-to-goodness, blood-red lipstick. Some ladies here have given me great suggestions (thank you, ladies!). However, since I'm not exactly flush, I rummaged in my Makeup Warehouse 13 (where I keep that "vintage" stuff that I don't want to get rid of for sentimental reasons) before I went out and spent money. And I stumbled on a EL Futurist Lipstick. I can't remember when I got it, but it doesn't smell, or taste, or look bad, it's still creamy and perfectly wearable (it pays to take good care of your MU). The color is Very Red, and boy, they aren't kidding. This is a gorgeous, deep, 1940s Femme Fatale, blood red. I call it my Spy-from-Shanghai color. Just what I was looking for. Of course, it's been discontinued (don't you hate it when that happens?), and that is just a blooming shame. I'm reserving it for special occasions.

I have a tube of this lipstick in Smoky Topaz, which is a brown bronzed nude. The formula is soft and wears well, but the color is just too warm and dark for my complexion. I probably won't purchase anything else from the Futurist line.

I think the Futurist line has been discontined, but I was able to purchase it at an outlet near my home. It's highly pigmented and the formula is rich and creamy. I paid only $14.00 for it after tax, and I think I will go back and get a couple more colors before they all run out. This is a great lipstick. A huge bonus: It doesn't have that typical Estee Lauder fruit/wax smell that I really don't care for. Oh, well, like lots of things in life, the best stuff doesn't last or, in this case, gets 86'd.

I love this lipstick, but I understand that all Futurist lipsticks are being discontinued. :( My local Estee Lauder rep didn't have any in stock. Is there any way that we can boycott this??

I have the shade 'Passionate Plum' and if ever there was a lipstick deserved to have 'plum' in its title than this is it - very plum (don't know about the passionate part). The pigment is top quality, creamy on the lips. Reminds me of 1920s goodtime gals and that is how I feel when I put it on... makes me want to cut my hair into a bob to complete the picture. After writing all that I must also admit that the colour could do more for me but doesn't so I probably won't repurchase.

This is great stuff - very moisturizing and contains a decent SPF. The previous reviewer doesn't seem to understand the process of safety testing in cosmetics.

I do respect the fact some people do not care about dangerous ingredients in the cosmetics, but if you do read this.
THIS PRODUCT IS LOADED WITH ingredients posing potential CANCER risks, ingredients posing potential gastrointestinal or liver toxicity hazards, ingredients with potential to instigate immune system response that can include itching, burning, scaling, hives, and blistering of skin (sensitization).

I got this in Passionate Plum (shade 21) as a GWP eons ago. I am a lipstick addict~ I collect lipstick like crazy, and I own enough GWP lipsticks to open a store! So this means a lot when I say that this lipstick is undoubtedly my all-time favorite. The color is perfect for my skin tone~ as the name implies, a darkish plum color that looks pinky brown at first glance, but actually doesn't seem to have too many brown undertones. It has a subtle shimmer, and it looks shiny enough on my lips that I sometimes skip my usual gloss that i wear over lipsticks. The formula itself is very rich and creamy. The coverage is moderate to full, so it's very slightly sheer~ I like wearing my lipsticks with full coverage, so an extra layer of this does the trick for me. I definitely like this over the Pure Color Crystal lipstick, which is too sheer feels a little too light for my tastes, and has that funky "fig" smell on top of that. I usually never buy lipsticks (I have so many GWPs that I don't need to!), but I'll definitely be buying this one once I use it up. I love it!

Really love this lipstick. It goes on smooth. Great staying power. No heavy fragrance or bad taste. Blazing Berry is my favorite. It's such a great shade. I love the way I feel when I put it on. I'm really upset they're discontinuing this lipstick line.

Since moving to Colorado I have discovered that none of my lipsticks (MAC, Bobby Brown, Lancome, Revlon moisturous etc) have kept my lips from chapping EXCEPT Futurist. I have it in Sultry Blush and am now looking to branch out into other colors. Truly, this stuff really works to keep your lips from drying out and keeps away those nasty dry skin patches completely, plus with the SPF 15 you can't go wrong. Yes, they are expensive, but it's worth it IMO.

I got a couple of these for cheap on ebay - Sleek Pink and Very Red. Considering I bought them sight unseen, I love these! First, the formula is to die for. They're very smooth and luxurious, but not too thick like Mac amplified lipsticks where you feel like you're wearing an inch of cream on your lips! Better still, the colours were just what I was looking for. I'm Asian but look better in cool tones. I've been looking for the perfect red but blue reds are just too bright for me and brown reds make my skin look dirty. Very Red is the perfect red for me - just a teensy hint of brown but comes on me like a true red without any berry and not too bright. Sleek Pink is equally great - a slightly shimmery pink without any red tones that doesn't wash me out like many light pinks. If I've only one small bone to pick, it's that it comes in an old lady gold case. But not enough for me to take away one lippie. Too bad they discontinued this series. A real winner!

I bought this lipstick in 14 Sultry Blush. This color is brownish. The texture feels smooth, unlike all other lipsticks. It's sort of shiny when applied on the lips too. It doesn't dry out my lips and have SPF 15. The packaging is just like any other normal lipsticks. I got this as a gift, but the online price is: $19.50. That's very expensive for just a lipstick. I would recommend these lipsticks to people, but only if they're willing to pay that much for them. I wouldn't get these again due to the price.

i generally like estee lipsticks. i know estee isn't a favorite brand on mua, but as far as most of their lipsticks go, i think they are pretty good. futurist and most formulas from estee go on smooth and creamy. they wear pretty well too. they aren't my all time favorite l/s brand, but as a general rule i think most estee lipsticks are of good quality.

Mine is in Divine Wine and was a gwp. This prodcut glides on so smoothly and has actually made me into a lipstick lover, whereas I used to only wear gloss. It has the perfect amount of shine and gloss, and I have never seen anything better in a lipstick. The color is a little too powerful on my FFF skin but i can make it work for dramatic nights. This stuff lasts forever too. I'm going to have to go and buy one in a color that is more suited to me! I think divine wine would look amazing on some of you CCC's and DDD's.

How can you go wrong, it's Estee Lauder! I don't like dramatic lips, so don't buy lipsticks that much and just stick to balms and glosses.... but Futurist Lipstick (Sultry Blush, baby!) is a really cute pinkish nude color. It applies creamy and feels like a gloss but maybe without the shine. I love this for dates and going to class when I want to look my age, 17 :) but with a lil sumthin extra. Oh, and it smells like roses for some reason lol must be me.

This is my favorite lipstick. Creamy, moisturizing, slightly plumps my lips, long lasting and protecting - simply the best. I use "quite nude" shade. The best nude colour ever!

- in sultry blush -
stole this from my mom's gift set a while back. can't complain (esp for it being free). a nice subtle nude - creamy when applied. the staying power isn't as great as others have experienced, but this shade nice when going for toned down look.

Futurist lipsticks are rich, creamy and stay put. I have them in several colors - Hot Fudge,
Forward Fig and Fiery Russet. Futurist is my favorite of the EL lipstick lines. To me, they are the ultimate in luxury at a medium-high pricepoint.
