I have used this brand for years, but never this type. Some Tresemme shampoos wash better than others. This one really weighed down my hair and actually seemed to cause more breakage. When I got my hair cut, my stylist asked me what I was using because my hair was kind of "sticking together" when it got wet and it didnt' seem to be cleaning my hair. I was a little offended by the comment, but decided to try something else. My hair has gotten better.

Wow. I'm truly impressed! This shampoo smells great, and it lathered like crazy. The foam was very light and gel-like. A little goes a long way! I just colored my hair and this didn't strip it. Excellent!

I love love LOVE this shampoo. It's amazing for my hair. After I started using this (in conjunction with random conditioners that were lying around), my hair felt softer, stronger, and smoother. It didn't make my hair more oily than normal (I've already accepted that nothing will change the second-day oiliness of my hair) and I used up my entire jumbo-sized bottle without any complaints. It didn't strip my hair, but cleaned rather well. It didn't cause dandruff. After finishing this, I tried to go back to Herbal Essences; that did NOT work out... My mom started making me try organic shampoo - it caused dandruff O_o
All in all, I LOVE THIS STUFF.

This is one of the most horrendous shampoos I've even used. My hair has never been in such a terrible condition. I generally have healthy, thick hair and this made it coarse, tangled and entirely unmanageable. Normally the egg bomb hair mask totally fixes any dryness that sometimes arises; however even that wasn't enough to tame the monster this shampoo created. It drastically changed the condition of my hair - the strands look much thinner than they did. My SO even noticed that my hair was a bit straw-like and rougher. There was also a huge increase in hair falling out (I guess b/c it stripped my hair so much and the roots became weak? I don't know). As if this review couldn't get any worse: I also saw a couple of large pimples form on my shoulders, chest and forehead while using this shampoo. Keep me away from this stuff. I've since found L'oreal's Evercreme line and its absolutely BRILLIANT with my hair. I'm normally into frugal haircare practices (hence my trying this terrible shampoo) but the Evercreme line has made a believer out of me.

I have been fighting a losing battle with acne on my face, chest and back since giving birth to my children and tried everything under the sun to get rid of the problem. Last week, I decided to try going back to a shampoo I used to use before I had this problem, when my skin was clear, and I stopped using Tresemme. My acne disappeared within 5 days. I was thrilled but also very upset that not one doctor (saw GP, dermatologist, and Naturopathic doctor) ever asked me what products I used regularly, and only shoved the products at me that THEY wanted me to use/buy. I WISH there was at least one person out there who had suggested that this could be the problem so I could have had relief a long time ago. I plan to share this with everyone I encounter with skin issues, and I thank YOU for putting it out into cyberspace for me to confirm my suspicions about this horrible product. I can't believe I might actually have a blemish-free future, something I thought I'd never have. Best of luck to all of you.

This review is for both the shampoo and conditioner labeled "Breakage Defense". I have only used the two together, so I can't truly review them separately.
I like the way this shampoo and conditioner made my hair feel, soft and healthy, but unfortunately, my forehead broke out after every use. I never break out on my forehead, and I have bangs, so I have to assume that this is what caused it.

My hair stopped breaking and falling out as much. It also didn't irritate my picky scalp, give me dandruff or any scalp pimples. One shampoo gave me dandruff and it promptly went away right after switching to this. However, a very good conditioner is needed as this can be slightly drying. Ironically, my hair is most prone to breaking or falling after rinsing the shampoo out and before applying conditioner.

This product is awful!!! My hair is very distressed and i've noticed after I use the shampoo and the conditioner, my hair breaks off into little pieces, and I can't even swipe my comb through it!! Horrible horrible product. The gelatin prob doesn't do it any good, either!! Will NOT repurchase.

This is the WORST shampoo I have ever used!!! I began using this shampoo about a year ago after I had moved out of my parents house. Ironically I had purchased this shampoo for my split ends because I had recently gotten highlights and it left my hair a tangled mess leading to more split ends! I honestly believed there was nothing I could do because I initially thought it was the change of water from where my parents lived and where I had moved to and even though I tried using conditioner (thought it was the last thing I wanted to do because I have super oily hair) it did not help at all! Even at hair salons they would ask me why my hair was so easily tangled and I would always blame it on the water. I had really really long hair, but was forced to cut my hair short because it became so bad that it was actually painful to brush my hair :( Now that I've moved close to my parents house and realized that it's no longer the water that I believed was causing all that did I realize that it was not the water, it was the effin shampoo! I threw that thing out fassst and immediately saw the difference when I switched shampoos and though I'm glad it worked for some people, this DEFINITELY did not work for me! The shampoo bottle lasted a long time and that's pretty much the only pro I can say...

The thing about shampoos and conditioners is that we all jump around and use different ones when you think the brand your using is not working for you. Other brands have never worked as well with my hair and leave weird white residue flakes in my hair(which is not dandruff trust me) but with tresemme the way their different collections of shampoos and conditioners makes the way my hair feel is awesome. This one product particularly both shampoo and conditioner leaves my hair feeling much stronger and smoother. I really love how it protects my hair from getting split ends, my hair tends to do that often which is why i switched to this collection of product. The label says it strengthens and protects hair against breakage and slit ends. Thats exactly what it did and im so happy with that! I highly recommend these products to anyone who has a problem with split ends and wanting to re-enforce your hairs strength!

This product was very refreshing and smoothing the first couple of times I used it, but then I noticed my hair becoming limp and dry.
There is also so much product (that didn't work) that it is hard to use all of it.

This shampoo is AMAZING I used this in the summer and I was swimming and straightening my hair EVERYDAY and didn't get any split ends.It is a good product for a pretty low price.I just wish they had a pump so that you wouldn't have to pick it up and squeeze it.

I bought a mini bottle of this shampoo, just to sample it. It definitely was very gentle with my hair and helped my hair recover from damage and moisture loss. I was extremely happy with it and I even though that I would buy the full bottle when I started noticing too, that I had some dandruff.
What I did notice though is that it does not clean you hair/scalp deeply. So my hair was becoming oily quite fast. I had NEVER had this problem before, so I'm freaking out. I have been using it in combination with The Body Shop's Honey Shampoo for dry hair, the reformulated version (Rainforest something) which is Sulfate free, so I can not say what exactly caused me these problem.
I would not recommend this product.

I really like this shampoo. I have used sooo many different shampoos-- everything from the expensive stuff down to the cheap drugstore brands, and TRESemme is still my absolute favorite. I feel like you're getting a top salon quality shampoo without breaking the bank. It smells good, does't make my hair oily, adds volume, and my hair feels very healthy.

I used this last night and it was amazing. To test it out before, I put a bunch of stuff in my hair like hairspray, dry shampoo, shine spray, and mousse. It took me 2 times to wash it all out, which wasn't bad saying all of the stuff I put in it.

I'm usually a big fan of TRESemme products, but this wasn't the best one I have from them. It cleaned my hair well, lathered nicely, easy to work with, had a pleasant smell, and wasn't that expensive; however, I didn't feel that it is any better at preventing/stopping breakage than a normal shampoo. I would have thrown it away sooner, but I didn't any of the product to go to waste.
