This is great. I currently have normal skin (under control with Dianette) so needed something non-drying and non-oily, but which could shift the makeup that I wear to cover acne scars. This gets rid of everything, including Benefit 'They're Real' waterproof mascara. I like to double cleanse and go over it with toner on a cotton pad. Nothing is ever left on the pad after using this. It has a very thin gel-like texture, not far removed from washing with water alone. I disagree that it smells artificial, anyway, Ren don't use any artificial fragrances. Also, one thing I dislike is when rating for products are skewed by a few people who use the products despite them being wrong for their skin type and then post negatives (have just read one woman give Benefit Lemonaid eyelid colour correcting primer, which is bright yellow, a negative for being too yellow as an under eye concealer. Seriously.) A few people with sensitive skin have marked down this doing saying that they found this to be harsh, when it's a product for normal skin which isn't reactive. REN do a sensitive skin range. Normal skin should not react to this face wash. If it does, it is not normal skin. Sorry for the rant.

If I'm going to spend this much on facial cleanser, I really want to be in love with it, and that did not happen here. The most annoying feature is that the cleanser seems very generic-there was nothing about it that struck me as unique and must-have. The gel is fine, but does not really lather into nice-feeling suds, nor does it go on as a smooth cream. The rose scent is fake-smelling and perfumey-definitely not a "natural" scent. And I didn't feel great after using it-nor did I see any noticeable change in my skin's cleanliness after using it for a few months. I'm going to move entirely to MyChelle products as REN is overpriced and not that great.

This is for normal skin and came in a set that includes their famous Glycolactic mask. But i ended up loving this cleanser more than the mask. I only use this in the morning because its not meant to remove makeup. It cleanses my face so well and yet feels so gentle and does not dry my skin. I have combination skin with pretty dry cheeks. This cleanser feels so gentle, delicate, pure and effective. After washing, my face feel clean yet very comfortable, moist, refreshed... amazing!!!
Texture - light, watery, transparent gel, feels very refreshing. Foams mildly.
Smell - of essential oil, mostly lavenderish scent
The best facial cleanser I've ever tried.

I finished this product and so pleased w/this gentle cleanser. It's gentle and didn't overly stripped my combo skin. I used to use Philosophy Purity w/my clarisonic but this does a better job at taking off my makeup. Definitely repurchasing!

Not only is this cleanser very clean in terms of being natural and non-toxic, but the packaging prevents airborne exposure to help the product maintain effectiveness.
I was very pleased with the cleanser, it left my skin moist, not stripped, toned, and refreshed. The smell was very light, and subtle with hints of aloe and rose. The texture was gel like, and also it didn't really lather up well, it was very effective at cleaning.
Only complaint is that the pump should be more durable, have had two malfunction after rolling out of shower. But will definitely purchase again.

I like this quite a lot, but I don't LOVE it. Good refreshing cleanser for my face with a nice rose scent. Have concerns about whether it is actually getting my make-up off or not. My skin does feel very nice after using it. Very expensive though and it didn't last me very long (had to use a lot to feel clean)

I don't know why I can't seem to find a gentle cleanser I like under $30, but so it goes. I might buy this again, but I might not. It smells pleasant, is pleasant to use, and leaves my face smooth and not overly stripped. I use it as the second step in a double cleanse with Softymo cleansing oil, so I can't attest to the makeup removing qualities. A gentle cleanser, along the lines of Avene soapless cleanser and Fresh soy cleanser. It has nice ingredients (including aloe vera), especially nicer in relation to the soy cleanser, and is mostly pretty soothing. Not holy grail status, but isn't bad either.

Last time I used the mayblossom cleanser, which I wasn't impressed at all; but this time with the rosa cleanser, it is just good:)
I actually have combination skin, but not the kind with really oily T-zone, I think maybe that reason the mayblossom was not suitable for me. For those who has normal or slightly combination, try this one.
After wash my face, it keeps my face calm (from the break out of using unsuitable products) and doesn't dry me out, i don't actually know does it make my skin soft, but as a cleanser with no harmful ingredients, it does it's job.

Nice gentle face wash. I use one pump and it foams up nicely and rinses clean. My face feels soft after using and not tight. The packaging is great b/c you can get out the very last drop of product.

This made my face feel too squeaky-clean-- literally SQUEAKY clean. I felt like it stripped my face of the natural oils and left my face feeling too tight and dry. Maybe because my face might be sensitive to the rose water. Rose water is an astringent and may have been too harsh/drying for my sensitive, acne-prone with mild rosacea skin.

I found this wash very good on my normal/dry skin. I never had any break outs and it left my skin feeling nice without being tight yet it felt clean. I liked the pump packaging because you could see how much you had left. The bag inside the tube squeezes when you run out so you know you've used all your face wash/monies! Would definitely recommend but it is a bit pricey.

This is my HG cleanser. I am a huge REN fan and have tried all three cleanser-moisturiser ranges for the normal, combi, and sensitive skin. My skin is problematic because it's somewhere in between dry, oily, and sensitive. Needless to say, this makes for very difficult cleanser shopping :P This one works best for me and I'm probably on my fourth bottle now.
I like this a lot because it's mild enough for my dry patches and my slightly sensitive skin. This is definitely not enough for removing make-up so don't purchase this if you want it for that purpose but it works very well for me as an everyday cleanser. I use this together with a wash-cloth and I find that this helps since my pores love clogging up and I want to achieve a cleaner cleanse. I have used products formulated without parabens/sulphates/other harmful chemicals for almost 2.5 years now and honestly feel that it makes a difference because if I use products with petrochemicals etc my skin gets really irritated and breaks out.
I tried to switch to other 'natural' brands or use the other ranges within REN but this really works best for me since my skin is in between so many conditions. I use this together with the Mayblossom + Konjac moisturiser aka Matt Balancing Fluid (REN's moisturiser for combi skin) and find that this combination really worked out for me. For gals with oily skin, you might find REN's Normal-skin moisturiser (Vita-Mineral Day Cream) a bit too rich.
Price-wise it definitely is steep but one bottle lasts about 3 months for me because I use it conservatively and only once a day (I use FANCL mild cleansing oil for my night cleanse). I used to use Dr. Hauschka so, comparatively, this one gives me more bang for my buck and lasts longer. The packaging is also perfect for someone who travels a lot -- it will definitely survive all the knocks of cargo -- and very hygienic. The scent is a lovely mild rose and aloe. One of the major pluses about this product for me is that is survives the transition from the tropical to the winter weathers; it's not too drying during the cold season. This was important for me because I don't want to spend more or keep two different cleansers around. God knows I already have enough products lol.

This is a lovely product, the gel texture is wonderful and the smell is gorgeous! But the cleansing power is so weak, it doesn't really do anything. If you have even a speck of makeup or acne, forget it. I would definitely use this if I had no skin complaints and didn't wear makeup. And lived in the country with fresh air. Basically if I didn't need to clean my face well anyway ^_^ It really is very nice though, so when I want to pamper myself I usually use this as part of a double cleanse.

I have normal skin and live in tropical country. I love this Rose cleanser for the slightly colder months. The smell and feel of the cleanser is really nice. It's enough for people who do not wear foundation or mascara. The feeling is clean, non-drying and luxurious. However, I find that this is not enough for the summer months, so I use REN Mayblossom cleanser instead.

I'm not 100% if I'll actually purchase this. I've been trialling this and thoroughly enjoying this. I like the results; my skin normally dries out from using a gel cleanser, however I have liked the feeling of my skin afterwards. I have a couple of spots I'm not sure if its because of this or if its because of other factors. My skin is looking good otherwise. At full price its quite pricey and on a student allowance I'm not sure I could sustain continued use and in NZ it isn't readily availble only 1 store and online. I have plenty left of my sample so I'll consider purchasing this after I have finished. Overall impressed.

I bought a REN trial size kit with five different products and the face wash was one of the products. I have pretty normal skin, sometimes oily t-zone and in the wintertime some dry spots, but overall quite normal. The wash is a clear gel that doesn't make a a lot of foam (which is good because foam is a sign of drying ingredients). It has a mild fragrance, smells like a soft muted version of rose petals. I used it regularly for three weeks but then my skin began breaking out, small pimples underneath the surface of the skin. I don't have sensitive skin, but I reacted quite bad to this facial wash.. Will not be buying this again.

I bought this because of the natural ingredients (rosa damascena flower water, aloe vera juice etc) and its lack of chemical 'nasties' (parabens, petrochemicals, sulfates, synthetic fragrance/colour etc). The wash wasn't unpleasant to use - nice smell, light gel texture - and didn't break me out or anything, but it left my cheeks looking and feeling a little dry. I won't be buying this again.

I really like this enough to buy it despite the price. I use another cleanser to take off my eye make up (as I don't want to waste this one) and this as the final cleanser. I love how it makes my skin feel clean - fresh, relaxed, as it should be. I'm not saying that it's going to do any miracles for you but if you want a natural cleanser that makes your skin feel good, try this one.

I have tried using this twice and both times after a week or so I began to get bloked pores and blemishes that took ages to go. They weren't huge but were really stubborn and left marks on my extremely fair skin.
Disappointing as it is sulfate free and smells lovely and is a pleasure to use.
Will NOT be re-purchasing!
