I use this brush for the Bare Minerals matte foundation, and find it effective - application is fine, and I like that the bristles aren't soft. I don't have a problem with scratchiness. After the first couple of uses, however, the level of shedding has become absurd - I'm left with more small pieces of brush on my face than makeup! Poor, brittle bristle quality.

This brush wouldn't be that bad for makeup application. It works and serves its purpose. It puts the makeup on, although it is a bit rough feeling.

But, the biggest flaw of this "flawless" brush is that it SHEDS like crazy. I got a BRAND NEW one in a kit the other day. I used it one time, and there were so many hairs from this brush on my face, chest, and shirt that it looked like I'd wiped my face on a horse's tail.

I wish I were kidding, but it is awful.

Every BE brush that I've used is terrible. I am just going to give these to my cat to use as a toy or I'm going to throw them out because they're worthless.

I don't understand how the workers at the BE stores and Sephora can use these brushes and their brushes don't shed like these ones. I've had three BE brushes so far and all do the same thing. My first, the full flawless brush, didn't shed so bad at first, but then it started shedding like crazy.

So, I would NEVER recommend this brush.

I bought some EcoTools brushes as a replacement, and then I found an insane deal on a Sephora brush kit ($12 for a $60 brush set) and I've been very happy with it. Just about ANY brush beats a BE brush.

I love BE products, but this brush is a FAIL for me. Sad, because it actually applies product decently.

This brush sheds like crazy. I've had it for a long time now... always took care of it, washed it on a regular basis using gentle shampoo. But my face and shirt are covered with hairs when I'm done using it. I'm surprised the brush even has bristles left!

Like I said... it actually does a decent job of applying product. But having to clean myself up after using it is no fun. I know several people who have the same problem with this brush. Will definitely not repurchase.

This brush doesn't give that good of coverage and is kind of corse. It's good for a light dusting of the powder but if you need coverage this won't help much.

It shad a lot at first, but after a couple wash and conditioning will soften the goat hair and speed up the shedding. when it finally stop shedding, it become a nice powder brush. I like to use it with mineral compact, it can pick up product in no time and deliver a light coverage for everyday look.

I got this as part of the Bare Minerals starter kit about 2 years ago and threw it away within 3-4 months because it wasn't even worth donating to Goodwill -- and I normally try to recycle things! I have nothing positive to say about this brush.

CONS
--- bristles fell out all the time, even when applying
--- did not buff in my foundation
--- made my foundation look cakey
--- not very soft bristles
--- seems like the brush absorbed more makeup than it put on me. It got dirty so fast.

This brush is one word is just awkward haha, the shape of the bristles is just weird, it's not the best thing to use when applying mineral foundation or any kind of powder product. I feel like it just spreads the product around instead of buffering it into the skin or blending it. Also it sheds like there's no tomorrow, my Sonia Kashuk brush I bought for like 10 bucks at Target is better than this. Whenever I use it I have those stupid hairs all over my face and I have to pick them off. To me it's just a big chunky brush that doesn't really do much. I'm gonna pass on this brush.

I liked this brush...until I washed it! When I washed it, I follow Bare Minerals directions. Now it feels like it has zero density and it sheds a bit. I like my ELF Studio brushes much better than this expensive one. =/

Bare escentuals flawless app face brush--I HATE YOU I HATE YOU I HATE YOU! Not only did you shed like a balding cat all over my face and in my makeup bag, in fact your bristles that stayed in around the edges of the brush bent and frayed so that they would be poking my pores while I was trying to just mind my business and put on my blush. I hate you. For 22 or 24 dollars whatever you are SO not worth it. Back to Ulta you go. Boo.

IDK why this has such low rating because I got the mini version in a kit and it's an exact dupe for the MAC 109, but denser! it does however shed a little like once every like two washes ^_^

These brushes are so expensive and worthless. These were my first ever makeup brushes because this is when I started to wear makeup and my mom was at sephora with me. Let me just say that my first experience was horrible lol. It makes me looked caked on, so I do have to say it provides lots of coverage. But the bristles are absolutely horrible. Every time I wash them, It shreds ! They arent as soft as other powder brushes that are way cheaper like the elf studio powder brush, (which is only 3 dollars ! buy them !)

Not a fan of this brush. The bristles are flimsy, floppy, rough, and scratchy. Does absolutely nothing to apply or blend any type of makeup products onto my face. This makes my top 5 worst makeup brush list.

I got this brush with my bare minerals set I bought a while back. This brush did provide flawless coverage, but this brush sheds like crazy & the handle of the brush broke almost instantly (& I'm careful with my makeup products). Also, over time the hairs on this brush start to get coarse & hard. This brush is cheapily made. Overall, I did really like the effect of the brush & how it made my makeup look, but for the price & poor quality of this, you can definitely find way better brushes. All the brushes from this line are the worst quality brushes I've ever used, & that includes drugstore brushes. So, I will not buy this again, but it did work well for a short while. But, in the long run, this is not a good investment.

Inherited this from my mom's makeup kit and I'd have to say that this is the worst brush I've ever used. The brush itself is easy to hold, but the bristles are VERY rough and sometimes irritate my face. Along with being very rough, the brush sheds like crazy! I hate seeing random brush hairs on my face after doing my face. Awful.

I got this brush in the set I bought with the foundation. I gave it try & ended up with more of the brush hairs on my face than foundation. The brush felt a bit rough in my opinion also. After one wash that was it, the brush felt like sandpaper! Worst brush I have ever used/had in my life.

I have both this brush and the kabuki but the quality is the same and I think the review I wrote one kabuki applies to this one too.

Absolutley worst brush ever! And for the price I paid it's simply outrageous. I hate everything about it, from the way it applies, the shape and the bristles. It applies really patchy and I have to use about 3x times the amount of product compared to a regular brush because the product "falls down" into the brush and doesn't stay on the top part of the bristles. This means that I have to add more and more product to get any results. Even my cheap blush brush does a way better job.
The bristles are a nightmare! They are really harsh and sharp and irritate my skin, it hurts and my skin often stays red for a long time after applying. I sometimes avoid using my mineral makeup just because of this brush. I hate the BE brushes to the extent that I threw all of them in the thrash the second I bought a new ones.

For a billion dollar mineral makeup corporation, you would think they'd get their mineral brushes right. I got this one from the "Try Me" kit and as time went on, this brush gave a scratchy feel to my face. Sure it'll soften once it's washed and conditioned... until it is used again continually and that scratchy feeling will resurface once again. Also, it never stopped its shedding process that you would think it's alive! I gave it one lippie since it was great when buffing mineral foundation onto the face. Other than that, I would never repurchase this until Leslie Blodgett (the owner of Bare Minerals) makes an executive decision on making these things better!

Anyone who uses this brush on a daily basis will know that over time it becomes scratchy and irritating on the skin! Initially I thought it was lovely and soft and worked well with the BE foundation application. However with regular use and frequent washing (using MAC brush cleanser) gradually this brush becomes sharp and poky. I LOVE BE and have used the line for a few years now (and will continue to) but they REALLY need to address the quality of their brushes!
