I loved this product so much and was so surprised to see all the low ratings. This product is awesome. It helped my skin tremendously! I have red, sensitive, and acne-prone skin, and this worked so well. For one, this helped as an anti-redness serum, it smoothed my large pores, it evened my skin tone, it didnt break me out what so ever, and it doesnt feel thick and sticky like many serums do. All in all a great serum/moisturizer that is fantastic for all skin types. The ONLY downside to this serum, is the price. This serum costs $80 which I think is very expensive. But if this will ever go on sale I will most definitely buy this again without hesitation, and I might even buy it again even if it doesnt go on sale.SAVE UP and give it a try...or go to macys and try the tester!!! :)

I am now on my third bottle and this is def my HG product. It goes on your face and it covers up EVERYTHING.. Every pore ever imperfection is smoothed over. It also makes my skin super soft. I am not sure what it does for wrinkles but for everything else it is amazing. I can't live without this product. After my first bottle I didn't see any difference in my wrinkles so I went and triend another product that was all the rage and that is when I noticed what an amazing prodcut this EL is. This was my first experience with EL (not perfume related).. LOVE IT..

The only downside to me is that the little tube inside does not reach all the way to the bottom so when you get to low you have to just open the jar and extract the serum that way.

I have no doubt that this serum is full of things that are very good for your skin. The problem is, as other reviewers have stated, its like slathering pure silicone all over your face. I don't really like the feeling I get from this serum....my skin feels smooth, but dry and smothered.....additionally, after a weeks use, I developed lots of little pimples....I kept using it until I just couldn't justify it any more, I looked dreadful! All the pimples cleared up within a week of me stopping using it.

Everytime I use this serum, it dries out my skin and gives small pimples on over my face. I really want to love it, but this product irritates my skin. I think that it contains too much silicone which can clog pore. I have to stop using it permanently :(

I have been using this product for a week. I can already see the wrinkles disappearing. I did not have that many but I didn't like what I saw.

Yes, it is very pricy but, IMHO, well worth the high cost. A little goes a long way too.

I really like the texture and feel of of this treatment. I use it undr my moisturizer every day. My skin soaks it right in and is not at all greasy.

My face looks so much more brighter and smoother.

My mom bought me the big 100ml at the duty free on her trip. I have the renewed version in the dark purple glass bottle. This creates a smooth base maily because of the silicone in the serum I think. I usually try to stay away from anything with silicone it them but this one doesn't create any bad breakouts for me so far. I actually received many compliments on my complexion since i've been using this serum. I stopped using this for about 3 months when I bought skin care products from AP and CdP but now that I ran out of those serums, I'm back on it and so far I like the results. It smoothes my skin (very silky), doesn't really even out the skintone or dramatically brighten my old acne scars. But I think it gradually improves the overall complexion. I don't think I will repurchase because I would like to try new things and this is out of my budget range right now.

I've used this product for a couple months now. So far this product does deliver what it claims. The lotion is not greasy, which is a plus. My skin is really soft after using this. Also, it does reduce the pore size. I would definitely repurchase, once i've used up the product.

i have been using this purple tint serum for a week, and i really see changes on the fine lines and dryness i was concerned about. this does contain skin brightening particles and fragrance, work great under mkup. i am holding back my judgement after a few months use.but so far, so good.
Edit: okie, i will not rebuy this because it stop improving my skin after a month. i think this is the best it can do to my skin..C/P value isn't justified.

Beware Acne prones! Not only is this product chock full of silicones but it also contains Wheat Germ, which is very high on the comodegenic scale. I unfortunately found out the hard way that this product was not for me and now I have an expensive bottle of product that is too late to return so it sits unused collecting dust in my product "graveyard". bummer....

I think that the formula for this may have been reformulated since it changed from being in a plastic bottle to a glass one. When I used to apply this I could feel a slight numbing sensation in my forehead but now there is nothing. As another reviewer has said, this is a good primer and it keeps my skin velvety and oil free for a few hours until the oil comes to the surface again. I'm not sure that I can see any results, the sunspot on the top of my cheek is still just as apparent. Seems expensive for what it is.

UPDATE: 06/15/2009: Argh, I have 2 horrible cyst like acne zits on my cheek after going back to this for a while. Now I remember the prime reason why I stopped using it. I hate the bottle that you have to jam a q-tip down to get the last remains out too. Lastly, if a product is called a 'serum' it should be a serum not a silicone lotion. The fragrance is pleasant however.

HORRIBLE.

This made my face break out in horrible cysts, something which hasn't happened in 30 years. I love Estee Lauder Night Repair and loved Diminish (my skin is too senstive for Retin A or Renova), so I spent the $$$ when the Estee Lauder rep told me this was the "new version of Diminish." Uh, no. It isn't. Diminish didn't clog my pores and irritate my skin and cause a giant acne outbreak. After spending the $$ to have my face break out, I had to spend $$ on a dermatologist to get the cysts lanced. Thanks, Estee Lauder.

The dermatologist told me there is silicone in this and it clogs pore, plus a lot of people are sensitive to silicone. She does not sell or advise anyone to use products containing silicone SO ASK BEFORE YOU BUY "Does this contain silicone? Are you SURE? Because I am allergic to silicone."

I wanted to like this but it was horribly wrong for my skin. I broke out like crazy with this and I never break out.....ever. Strangely, it also seemed to dry my skin out. It offers zero hydration and is too heavily perfumed. The product is nicely packaged but I needed more than one pump to cover my face and it would not have lasted very long at that rate. It's expensive. Get a sample of this before you buy it.

It is a good product, only you do not have to have huge expectations on it!
I use it as a primer, on mornings, as its main feature (due to the silicons contained) is to leave your skin with a velvety finish. But I see this is only cosmetic!
Your skin is then soft & smooths, and foundation glides on so easily. Nice neutral scent. Great.
But I did not notice any improvement on the texture or on the (very) fine lines I have nor on the brown spots (the product claims to help as well with dark spots).
So as I said, the effect is purely cosmetic. And, just for that, the product is way too expensive.
To my opinion, Idealist (new formula) is way better.

Not sure if it actually does anything to treat/reduce fine lines, but when you put it on, your lines looked diminished. Has a "pumped" out effect, but I'm certain it's only cosmetic. But it smells and looks so good, that I'll still buy it once in a while (when i feel rich).

Perfectionist has ruined my skin (for now). I'm 35 and have no wrinkles, except a deep, vertical one over my right eyebrow (I started stealing my mom's Advanced Night Repair when I was 14 and talked her into buying Eyzone for me at 16!). I'm usually a Lauder loyalist, but frankly, this stuff sucks. I've been using Idealist forever, and it's made my skin glow-ey and clear and even-toned. Also, I never, ever break out. I spent a LOT on the perfectionist, and after day 1, literally, I woke up and had three of those hard zits that start under your skin and hurt and never come to a head. OUCH!
I purchased a 3.4-oz. bottle of this, and I'm going to put it up for Swap. It's silicone, and it just sits on your skin, while some of it soaks in and simply aggravates your pores, causing acne. I've got a big bottle of Idealist left, and I'm going to stick with it. The wrinkle above my eyebrow will just have to stay there, because I don't really want to pursue Botox at this time. I'm sooooo disappointed in Perfectionist. It's a complexion-ruiner and the most expensive 'treatment' out there. It's done nothing to help my brow wrinkle. It works OK as a makeup primer, but I love my Smashbox primer, and I'm going to stick with it - it works a lot better than this waste of money. Don't waste the dinero on this stuff.

I bought this product with Advanced Night repair as a serum set. I really hope this one would work as well as ANR does. But so far I'm still dissapointed. The texture is a bit too dry for me. I've been used this for 2-3 weeks, the only obvious effect I felt is the primer-like thing. After seeing Kitty_Glamourcat's review, i'm so scared b/c my skin is combination and acne-prone. I'm afraid this product would break me out too if I continue using it. Am I gonna throw it away?----it was expensive! If you're considering this one, don't give it a try!
