I loooooooooove this! It's super cheap, is SO much more effective than any flavored or yummy smelling lip balms. Sure, it doesn't smell or taste (trust me on this) the best but it does work WONDERS!

I use this on my lips every day, all day... This leaves them very hydrated and smooth. I also put a small amount on and let dry before I put my lipstick on, it acts as a base..

Blistex is great if you have extremely dry lips or a horrible cold sore that simply won't go away. I bough this lip ointment at walmart for $2.17 and it lasted me almost a month. I had a very stubborn cold sore on my upper lip and this provided so much relief to it. I switched from using carmex to this simply because of the strong smell that is in carmex products. They are both great and i will continue to buy both for the relief to dryness and cold sores. You should pick yourself up some.

Blistex works on COLD SoREs! :)
I've used blistex for years to treat extra dry cracked lips, but never on my cold sores...Until I saw my husband use it and it worked better than ABREVA!
So I finally tried and it truly does make a cold sore smaller, heal quick, and not develop into the puss stage and peeling/bleeding stage. It soothes the cold sore so you don't feel the tingly itchy feeling.
I will keep buying Blistex from now on and will never buy abreva again. Abreva dried quick and left me feeling itchy. It only worked if you used it immediately on first signs of the cold sore, and it still led to peeling of the skin and bleeding! I have a scar from one time , even after using abreva. With blistex-NO scar.
Blistex works and costed about $3.99 on sale (economy size, which I can cut open at the end to finish it all)
Abreva costs $19.99 for a stupid metal tube that's puny in size, and cannot open it up when it's almost done.
Try Blistex next time u have a cold sore! Apply about 4 times a day for good results.

Oh, how I hate dry, winter chapped lips! If I could only buy one product for my lips this is it! I have been using this stuff for years. Works great on dry, chapped lips. I put it on right before bed by the morning my chapped lips are completely soft, smooth, and totally healed. Only drawback is it smells like menthol, but it's totally worth it. I keep buying this again and again because I know it works!

This product is great when I have cracked dry lips in the winter. I put this on at night as a treatment and my lips improve significantly in a couple of days. I don't like using this during the day because of the smell. I use the blister renewal at night as well and the hydrating gel.

I LOVE this. My lips are big but very dry and chapped. I'm always bleeding and have layers peeled back (it's gross). So.. I decided to try different lip balms and rosebud salve. They both did nothing at all other than makd my lips slimey, sticky and uncomfortable. Then, my grandma handed me THIS BABY. No gimmick, just cracked lip defeating goodness. My lips are now soft, hydrated and I can finally wear lipstick after only two uses.I last used this 5 days ago and my lips are still in good condition. I plan on buying a new one to carry around tomorrow

I love this product. I'm a lip balm fanatic, but I never use this as a daily lip balm that I carry in my bag. I use this as part of my moisturizing and skincare routine, so in the morning, I put this on before I put on any makeup and I put it on at night before I go to bed, and it works a dream on my lips!
Love this product, it's always in my makeup bag. Best lip treatment I've ever owned, I don't think I'll ever change from this one.

This product is amaazzzzinnnnggggg at soothing my lips. It is an analgesic, however, so people, please don't use this as often as normal lip balm unless you must. I've always had problem with dry skin, including lips, and this works wonderfully at fixing flaky lips. For some reason, when I use regular lip balm on flaky lips it just makes them flaky and gunky. The packaging is nice because I like using my finger to apply this since I probably will use this when my lips are bleeding and flaky. I actually like the smell, but it may bother some. It smells minty and medicinal, but it's not incredibly strong. Only downside is it has some not so great ingredients, but not many. I will still use this when my lips are in terrible condition, but not too often.

I love this treatment. I have gotten used to the smell and I use it whenever my lips begin to feel tender. It seems to plump them up overnight.

only thing bothers me is the smell right after I apply. but it's gone soon.

I live in my states tallest mountain range. Which means snow. Lots and lots of snow. Sometimes up the my house's roof.
You know what that means?
Bloody, cracked lips. Lots of them.
When I started getting them really bad in middle school my mom brought home this for me. White, medicated tube. When I saw the words 'medicated' I was grossed out. But I tried it. Perfect. I keep one in my pencil case at school so I have it on me at all times.
In my teens I have developed some strange habit of biting my lips in my sleep. Why? I'm not sure. I just know I wake up with a huge cut on my lip. This stuff will clear it up in a matter of hours. Works like a charm, and I always keep some around. I have not tried any other products (besides just normal lip balm) because there is really no need. Buy it, it does just as it says and works perfectly.

It's fairly good, nothing really special. Leaves my lips soft right after but doesn't seem to work in the long run.

This is what my mom and I call "bringing out the big guns". Well, I got home after a LONG day and school, looked in the mirror and my lips were frosted with dead skin (fight club reference, anyone?). It was gross and flaking and stuff and probably a result of my licking my lips and having a compulsive picking habit where you know, you peel the skin of your lips off in layers (unhealthy, I know) until they bleed and are raw and cracked. So I slathered this thick white ointment all over my poor babies and went to bed. Next morning, all the damage was reversed. Perfect, smooth lips. This is the most powerful, no-frills, no gimmicky packaging bullshit, utilitarian lip treatment that I own. It bashes up the horribleness of my lips overnight so aggressively that whenever I use it I go all "SAY HELLO TO MY LITTLE FRIEND!", complete with machine gun noises and tony montana's repulsive cuban accent. This is a WIN.

I never wanted to use this product because it never looked appealing at the drugstore counters. I always looked for the latest and greatest stuff chapstick or nivea would come out with. I have been a fan of rose bud salve for 4 years but lately it just wasn't cutting it. it seemed like it just was a lighter version of vaseline that really didn't do anything but sat on my lips. I still had chapped lips, some times so bad it would split on my bottom center lip.- very painful. I didn't want to use blistex bc i remember i bought it a long time ago and didn't like the white cast it left on my lips, and also it was supposed to help heal cold sores (which i don't have). I was at work the day and they had some in the medicine cabinet and I decided to give it another shot. I used some on my lips and you are supposed to rub it in like lotion to your skin and then the white cast will disappear and leave your lips with a protected sheen that was not only soothing, but minty. hmmm.. i don't remember that from before! My chapped lips instantly felt better and i immediately went to my cvs on my way home and picked up the biggest tube they had. I use that now at night and smear it all over my lips and in the morning when i wake up, my lips are nice and soft.. not chapped. Surprisingly, i was using it incorrectly the first time, which is why i didn't bother repurchasing it so many years ago. Now that i figured out how to correctly apply it, i think i will stick to it.
UPDATE: this ended up making my lips WORSE and caused it crack and bleed.. the OPPOSITE of what it's supposed to protect! I was horrified!. ended up tossing it in the trash. big mistake.

I've been using this since I was in preschool, as I always bit my lips growing up. Back then, I dreaded this stuff. It was unbearably minty, and tasted disgusting.
A few years back, though, I went through this phase where my lips would be in a constant condition of crackliness. Chapstick did almost nothing, if not made it worse, so I turned back to this ointment. It wasn't nearly as minty as I remembered, though it had a slight tinge of mintiness.
To this day, I use it as a daily moisturizer (though I know it's like medicine), always picking it over my EOS and Nivea lip balm. I've stopped biting my lips, but now I have a bad habit of licking them, which makes them painfully dry. This ALWAYS softens them up. The texture is a bit odd, being lotion-like. You have to treat it like a lotion, really rubbing it into your lips. It's at first white, but like lotion, it will just blend with your lips. I saw an earlier review about how it streaked lips white? I've never experienced that...
Cons:
Not the best smelling/tasting
Weird texture--like lotion, but a tiny bit thicker
Inconvenient packaging (just my opinion)
Sometimes the lotion aspect of the formula separates with the liquid, so you kind of have to mix it around in the packaging.
Pros:
Moisturizes when lips are dry, heals when lips are cracked/peeling. So it basically does its job.

So soothing. Just what my lips needed. I use this when I lips are really dry, sore, and peeling. It provides instant relief. I wouldn't use this as an everyday lip balm for that I love berts bees but it is amazing when my lips need extra care.

I could have gotten a bad tube of this but I'm not a fan. For severely chapped lips, I like Aquaphor or even Rosebud Salve better, and they also give you shine and feel nice on. This is a weird white paste, at least my tube was. Perhaps this would do more good if your issue was cold sores or something.

Amazing lip balm. I use it whenever my lips get really chapped and i can't put on any lipsticks because it'd accentuate any flakes on my lips
Just let this lip balm settle in for 5 minutes and you'd get soft baby lips.
