I bought this with the influence of a SA. Thank goodness I did. They way I use this product is by mixing it with my Cargo liquid foundation. It helps match my foundation to my skintone as my skin color changes over the season. I add more when I need it to look darker. It also makes my foundation turn into more of a mousse rather than a liquid. I can't imagine using it as a regular powder. I want to repurchase due to the fact that my foundation is a smidge too light for me and the powder helps darken it the perfect amount.

first of all, I want to say for those using this product in accordance with its name, no wonder you don't like it. It really doesn't do much as a 'powder', or 'over' other things. However, when used lightly, this product makes a great lightweight base for a powder, a mineral foundation, and even a regular foundation. The two different colors it comes in are really all that is needed, as none of its pigment shows up anyway (at least that I've noticed on my own fair skin). Thusly, don't expect any 'coverage'. The 'glitter' is really very fine, and unless you are looking for an absolutely flat matte look, it really isn't bothersome.
It (the glitter) doesn't seem to accentuate and hang out in fine lines and pores. I usually apply it very thinly all over my face, or at least, nose cheeks and chin, and my concealer, foundation, or powder all go on so much more smoothly over it. The other thing it's great for is a makeup goof spot-fixer.. it fixes mascara smears, eyeliner whoopses, and eyeshadow fall-out with just a little dab on the end of my finger, saving me from redoing the entire eye. If for no other reason than that, this should be a makeup bag staple. I've already repurchased.

I got this as a gift and I have to say I barely ever use it. I keep it on hand just in case I ever need it. The concept of a liquid powder is very interesting. My only issue with it is that it has a bit of shimmer in it which always made me hesitant to use it. I like the packaging though. I probably won't buy it again.

It's glittery, even in indoor lighting, if layered on top of liquid/cream foundation, it will smear whatever is underneath, it has fragrance, it uses silicone as a carrier.
I purchased this when it first came out several years ago, and have since threw it away.

What a waste! I really thought this would be a nice change and what a great idea I thought but it just didn't live up to anything. It's a soft powdery product that dries on contact w/your skin and it has some kind of sparkle to it that's almost invisible to detect. I saw no difference at all and my skin looked the same as if I had nothing on. Since it dries to a matte finish my face felt kind of dry as if it sucked the moisture out of it. I think that this may work over your m/u if you want a matte finish but that's the only way I see this working. Go to Sephora and get a sample trust me you'll be glad you didn't buy the full size unless like I said you want to use it as a finishing touch to get a matte finish over your m/u.

um, this stuff is weird. it doesn't seem to do a thing to my face but make me feel like i just smeared a bunch of chemicals and polymers into my skin for nothing. i try to use more to see more of an effect, but i seriously see no difference at all. admittedly, i am not very experienced with using primers, but smashbox photo finish feels so much nicer on my skin. maybe it's my imagination, but i think the photofinish is healthier for my skin. and if this "liquid powder" stuff doesn't even show up on my skin, i can't imagine continue to slather it on my overworked face for no reason. too bad though, it really is a neat concept.

definitely going back to sephora to find a proper powder ASAP.

I got this as part of a set. I was always curious about it, but whenever I tested it at Sephora, it would always ball up and flake off of my hand, due to the large amount of silicones in it.

An MA used this on me during a "makeover" -- she used it as a primer on me. She said that I was using too much, and that was why it was balling up.

I am not wearing any foundation today, only concealer, and I "set" with this liquid powder. I used just a pea-sized amount all over my face, and, as others have mentioned, this is very shimmery/glittery, so that small amount was enough to give some luminosity to my face. It's helped keep the oilies on my nose at bay.

If this doesn't break me out, it could be a nice alternative to pressed powder. I do wonder why they have so few colors in the selection, though. I have 01 Beige, and I am NC20-25.

O.K. the reason I keep buying products with shimmer and shine is because I want red carpet luminosity!!!! Is that too much to ask for??? Again, I have the crazy skin so I have to be careful. This wasn't at all what I was looking for. For my DDD complexion I bought #02- medium- dark. Packaging is great- flip cap. Easy to use..squeeze out and throw on. But I see GLITTER not shimmer or luminesence. I'm new at this so I'll keep pounding away.
peace, love and lipgloss

This is a young woman's must have item in my opinion. I actually do not wear foundation so I wasnt sure if this is a good item for me. However, after speaking with a wonderful cargo rep she told me that I dont need to wear foundation to like this. She told me that I can wear my own powder on top if i wanted to or wear it alone. I also bought the One base/foundation which she said i can use as a concealer under my eyes and on top of my brows and in between them at night. It looked sooo pretty. She used a light shade which scared me at first because I am medium skin toned, but she explained that a light concealor needs to be used at night when you go out because it highlights the rest of the face. I wish I can explain it better but it honestly looked pretty.
For day she said that girls need to wear a concealer that is one shade darker because it hides blemishes.

I wasn't sure what to expect from this product. It came in a Cargo set that I was buying for the blush and the gloss. In the tube it looks quite dark and I wasn't sure what it was for. The package says to use under or over make up. It was evening when I got the package so I applied a bit of it on top of my 8+ hour makeup. I have very oily skin and I get redness on and under my nose, along with shine. I noticed that after I put the liquid powder on my make up almost looked like it does when I first apply it. Next day I tried it as a primer. I put on moisturizer, MOM, Cargo liquid powder and the foundation. My make up stays fresh looking longer than ever before and I've tried everything made for controlling oil and redness. If it continues to perform like this I will buy it again and again for sure. Don't let the color of the product scare you. It appears to deposit no color but it gives an awesome finish to the skin. Big thumbs up from me.

Other primers I've tried... Dr. Brandt's Pores No More, Philosphy's Clear Powder, Bare Minerals Prime Time, Benefit's Dr. Feelgood, Laura Geller's Spackle, and Napeolean Perdis Auto-Pilot. It works as well as Philosphy's Clear Powder but that's hard to find. Only other one I'd repurchase is Laura Geller's Spackle. And of course, Cargo's.

I got this as part of a kit - sephora doesn't say what size it is when you buy it by itself, but if its the same size or even half the size as what I got, $22 is way too much for it. I actually wouldn't pay $1 for it though as it didn't do anything. I am very pale, and could not see this on my skin at ALL though it looks like it would be good for medium skin tones. I really like the idea, and like how it felt to put on, turned into a powdery finish, but it did not show up at all, and did not cover blemishes or even out my skintone anywhere I put it. Too bad because it'd make the perfect portable powder to carry around, and it was the only item in the kit I wasn't happy with.

I bought this in the darker shade. In the tube, it looked like it would provide sheer to light coverage with some subtle highlight (there is a small amount of sparkles in the tube).

I used this alone for a couple for days. This gave my combination skin a matte finish, but this on;y lasted about an hour. It really didn't even out my skin tone like a powder either.

I have never used primer, so I decided to try it under my foundation (Clinique Superfit). There was no difference. I took this back to Sephora. I honestly don't know what this product is supposed to do.

There was waaaay too much silicone in this for my taste. I have it in 02, the darker of the two shades, but it goes on clear with a slight sparkle. I guess I might use it for minimal-makeup days to help keep shine at bay, but I don't like the way it looks over foundation at all. I really like the concept, but do not like the formula at all. A much better product is the now-discontinued Dior I'od Aqua Powder.

I got this with my Cargo 10th Anniversary Set, but I was already intrigued by the concept....Liquid Powder. It sounded good, however, it failed miserably. First off, it's an odd beige color which supposedly matches all skin tones. Ummmm, nope. Too dark on me, plus I it had noticable sparkles in it. But the worst part is it made my skin burn and tingle something fierce, so I must be allergic to it. I ended up swapping it away.

I can see how this product mattifies, however the color is not for me, I have very very fair and it was almost like a bronzer on my skin which didn't look right. I tried the Beige which is the lightest

This is an okay product. I use it as a primer although have had someone swear you could pat some on top of your powder to mattify throughout the day but I think it would separate the makeup too much. It IS an amazing primer for Bare Escentuals though, especially for drier skins.

The only foundation primer I have used to date is the MAC Prep & Prime Skin, so I suppose that my review is mostly in comparison to that. With that said, Cargo's Liquid Powder comes in a squeeze tube (very convenient!) and at first I was worried that it was tinted and would be too glittery, as it appears so in the clear tube. However, when applied, it makes your face feel matte and the sparkles disappear under a foundation or loose powder. In regards to MAC's primer, it really doesn't compare. Cargo's keeps your face matte, but this does not last for the entire day. That's not to say that it doesn't work whatsoever though. If between using the Cargo primer and not using a primer at all, I can definitely notice a difference. Sometimes also a little difficult to tell where specifically on your face has it been applied because it is so matte. This is just a mediocre product, and I would choose MAC over this any day. I'm kind of disappointed because I love Cargo and I'm always willing to support a Canadian brand!

Don't think I would repurchase.

Like many reviewers, I wasn't sure what to expect from Liquid Powder by Cargo. Of course, rather than containing actual "powder", it is a almost intimidating looking bronze-gold colored gel with a moderate amount of shimmer/sparkle. The texture is similar to many of the other silicone primers on the market in that it is luxuriously velvety and yes, powdery feeling on the skin. Whatever tint the product contained was very sheer and blended well with my pale complexion.
Liquid Powder (and most other silicone products) did not work very well with my skin, especially considering the price. While it did blend well and made a decent base for makeup, it stuck tenaciously to any dry patches and tended to "roll" up around blemishes. I applied it before a 12-hour shift at the hospital and it did make my t-zone nominally more matte. Hopefully it will come in handy as the weather gets hotter & more humid.
I have a feeling that this tube will last at least six months, and I probably wouldn't re-purchase Liquid Powder. There are better, less shiny, and non-tinted silicone primers on the market.
