I heard about this 'Almost Lipstick' and was interested! After searching up and seeing all the glowing reviews here on MUA, I was willing to give it a shot.

When I bought it and first looked at it, I was super nervous that I would end up with dark purple, almost black lips. But I had already bought it so I gave it a go. I have light skin with golden undertones, and on me, this lipstick is a sheer, plummy colour with a sliiiiight brownish tint. It's a perfect fall/winter shade for me, and warms me up nicely. Consider me impressed.

It wears nicely, lasts a decent amount of time and is a nice smooth finish. It does have a slight lipstick smell, but the scent goes away quickly. I wouldn't consider this to be moisturizing, but it isn't drying either. I have to say, this is not a good lipstick to wear if your lips are rough or chapped at all, because the chapped skin will collect more of the product, leaving darker lines that are quite noticeable. The sleek silver and brushed silver exterior is very pretty too.

I would repurchase!

I had forgot all about this lipstick until I recently got my Color IQ done at Sephora and was scanning the recommended lipsticks/colors. This looks different on everyone and yet is pretty much universally flattering. I am a fan of the packaging and sheer hint of color - I'm not one to wear a true lipstick so this gloss-like formula works for me. Despite the dark appearance in the tube, you really need to try it on to see how it works with your skin tone. I get a plummy brown color that actually makes my blue eyes "pop" in the way I'd love a red lipstick to but can't wear red as my lips are small and I have yet to find the right shade for my skin tone. The texture is similar to "Soft Lips" lip balm stick only there is the added bonus of a sheer color. The color is mildly buildable if you layer it or use it over a lip liner.

So glad I re-discovered an old favorite, it may be an oldie but it's still a goodie.

I've got this in Almost Lipstick, eyeliner, super balm, & nail polish I'm obsessed w this color I just must say! I've got Pink Honey too which I lurve but BH is like a cult favorite & I can see why. Just DC all the bs & keep BH! It's very scary in the tube remembering my 14 yes old self: "should I keep it?" But it sat for a long time not really used til I took it out 1 day never looked back; but 1 of my fave colors!! Dr Pepper lipsmacker is an okay dupe as far as dupes are concerned but this remains largely undupeable & loved by millions in the masses & celebrities alike. A tough act to follow--it's got enough brown in it to satisfy the 90s babes who have been following their beloved lip color trend resurface. This is NOT the "Kylie Jenner" lip that's been popular becoz it's too sheer not opaque enough & not matte just nothing like KJ (thankfully) maybe Kim K can "discover" this & make it popular again (haha), every woman has worn this in college lol even me! This is instant polish & sophistication even for a very little makeup day. Just powder, pencil in brows, eyeliner & lipstick & ur good to go!

This is is one of my HG lip products. I can put it on without looking. One coat gives a natural look, but the color gets more intense with multiple coats. It lasts a long time and is moisturizing. Great neutral color.

A true oldie, but favorite. I remember this lipstick-balm since 1995. This blows Fresh lipbalms-lipsticks out of the water. They last longer and the color fits all skin tones. It is a MLBB type of color. Great packaging to carry in your purse. A+

I absolutely love this product! I use it often and find that it fits everything I would want in a lipstick. I love how smoothly it goes on and it doesn't clump up or dry out like other lipstick's I have tried. The color adapts to my natural lip color very well. I would recommend this product to everyone!

totally in love!!! this is the exact color/consistency/texture/etc I've been searching for forever!! it's an amazing my-lips-but-better shade on my and its not overly sticky and slimy and gross like 99% of lip glosses are. it's more like a balm than a gloss or lipstick. this is my HG lip product and I will be repurchasing again and again. my only complaint (that doesn't affect the product at all) is that I wish the tube had cuter packaging instead of the silver and grey tube it is now. but who cares really because it's an amazing product and I will legit wear it until I die lol...ps it comes out very sheer, don't let the name and dark color in the tube scare you--it's a beautiful kind of berry sheer.

Throwback shade.
Really pretty shade for just about every skin tone.
I do not think this would look bad on anyone.
Loved using my moms when I was a teen.
Do not be afraid of how dark it looks. It comes off much lighter.

This is a great colour and I believe it would be flattering to most - I am pale with red hair and it complements my skintone. One downsize is this does not last. It is moisturising and feels comfortable on the lips.

I was excited to get this product as a gift with purchase because I might just be one of the last makeup hoarders on the planet to try it.

PROS: I like the formulation. I think the Covergirl Smoochies are a bit dryer but are essentially a dupe formula wise. This product is a lovely sheer wash of colour which is just easy to wear.

CONS: I didn't like how this pulled brown on me which maybe a silly con based on it being called black "honey" ... It really isn't much of a con either because its so sheer. The colour doesn't last long on the lips either.
