The lotion itself is nice in that it's super creamy and absorbs into the skin fairly quickly without leaving a greasy feeling. I have eczema, and while it doesn't aggravate my skin, it's normally not moisturizing enough for me to use unless I'm having a day where my hands are only slightly chapped. So, if you have extremely dry skin and/or skin conditions, this hand cream might not do much for you. (Though I will say that obviously everyone's different - one person could discover that this is the miracle cure!) I don't think it's really moisturizing enough for excessively dry weather. The scent is too much, in my opinion, a really strong orange/citrus that lingers for quite a while - although, on the plus side, it's from natural essential oils rather than a nasty, fake chemical fragrance. In conclusion, this really isn't for me, but it might be worth trying if you're into citrus scents and don't suffer from really dry skin coupled with dermatitis.

One of my favorite hand creams ever. Not greasy! The citrusy smell is soft, more creamy than sharp, and not overpowering. The cream is less thick than other hand creams, so I think of it more like a lotion (though Weleda's Sea Buckthorn lotion itself is very very thin, almost runny). This stuff sinks in pretty fast and lasts a while.

This hand cream reminds me very much of the Sea Buckthorn Creamy Body wash in terms of smell, even though the hand cream smells a little bit stronger than the body wash. The hand cream smells of oranges and citrus fruits and has got a nice consistency and is easily absorbed by the skin.
It moisturizes the hands pretty good but especially in the wintertime I feel that it doesn't hydrate the hands good enough. But other than that this is a good hand cream.

This hand cream works fine if I just want to keep my hands moisturised during the summer. However, as soon as the weather gets colder and my hands dry out, it is just not enough! So if you have dry hands, it just won´t do its job!

Pros: Orange scent
Fast absorbing
Silky texture
Cons: Cost
Not for very dry skin
Annoying metal tube packaging = wasted product
This is a good hand cream for the late spring or early fall, when the hands get drier. It is NOT for chapped skin; it is simply not moisturizing enough.
Lovely smell (fruity citrus) and wonderful creamy feel, but quite pricey for what it is: a basic hand cream.

Nice, fruity smell. It is absorbed pretty quickly, but the feeling afterwards is weird. It didn't do much to my dry hands, maybe I needed a heavier cream.A bit expensive for a hand cream.

I hated this stuff - used half the tube just to be sure I wasn't jumping the gun but it never got better. Smell was atrocious, exactly like Goo Be Gone - fake orange. The cream was super sticky and runny, and did nothing for my hands. Tossed the second half of the tube, and I rarely throw anything out. Ick!

I really love this product. For my sometimes-dry hands it's perfect. It's not too thick and greasy and it melts quickly into the skin.
I also love the smell. Mandarin-orange-y? Yum. I'd rather eat it than wear it on my hands if that were possible. lol.

It's a love-and-hate-relationship. I hate the smell, and I love the smell. The cream cures my dry hands, but make them orange! Because of this, I will not buy other Sea Buckthorn product either. I hope I will find a substitute as good as this one. But without the smell and the discoloration.
Update: I have not found any replacement, and have actually bought this again

I completely concur w/ reviewer alba75 except I didn't get a chalky white film, but other that than, my experience and feelings towards this product are identical to hers. I have used up an entire tube, so have definitely given this product many, many chances to improve its performance = nope. Definitely will not re-purchase - very disappointed in this product.

This hand cream has got a light pleasant smell and sinks into skin fast. At the time, this product tends to create a chalky tight film that is uncomfortable especially during winter times. Furthermore, it is not rich enough for my hands to alleviate winter dryness. In no time I used up the tube applying cream several times a day. Given the fact that Weleda is an organic brand, the cream cost more than its non-organic counterparts. A metal tube is extremely awkward to use. This leads to unnecessarily waisting some amount of product.

Love!!!! This lotion is amazing. I have dry hands and this keeps my skin so soft and smooth! Now - I do not have chapped hands, so I don't know how it would work on that type of severity, but on normal dry, it works fantastic!! I tried a small sample in the store and by the end of the day my hands were still smooth! I couldn't believe it because whenever I try lotion samples, they seem to wear off and it never seems like I put anything on in the first place. Plus, the scent is fantastic!! Fruity orange - mmmm. Definitely worth the purchase.

This is a very fine hand cream. It isn't extremely moisturising, but personally I prefer reapplying to greasiness, and the great thing about this one is that it sinks very quickly into the skin. It leaves your hands soft but not sticky. It also has a lovely citrusy scent - strong but lovely.
All in all, I'd say it's pretty similar to the Dr.Hauschka one, only with a different scent...and cheaper.

I keep this hand cream by my bed, and use it before I go to sleep. It is a thick rich cream with a nice citrus scent. It thoroughly moisturizes and softens my hands and elbows. I wouldn't use a hand cream this thick during the day, unless my skin was extremely parched, because it does take awhile to absorb. I would definitely recommend!

I love the Sea Buckthorn range, but althought this is okay, it did leave my hands slightly sticky after use. I'm still on the hunt for my perfect naural handcream with sunsreen.

This is a very well formulated and quick absorbing hand cream. Both my husband and myself use this so we always have a tube around the house. Hands remains soft, well moisturized and smeels great. This handcream does have a very strong citrus fragrance but it eveporates quite quickly. Weleda products are very inexpensive as compared to other Bio brands however the quality is excellent. This hand cream is free of synthetic fragrance, coloring agents and mineral oil ingredients. Safe for the entire family.

I think Weleda has some truly excellent products (their Cellulite oil being an outstanding example).
Sea Buckthorn hand cream is a very good product from the line: The smell is fresh and sweet and uplifting. It moisturizes but doesn't leave your hands greasy.
Even if it didn't moisturize, I'd buy it for the scent alone.
I have repurchased this several times and it only comes second to L'Occitane hand cream IMHO. I agree with the Weleda philosophy and enjoy buying and using their products.

I bought this at Walgreens for $9.99 for 2.5 oz. tub. Kinda pricey but natural ingredients and I believe most, if not all, of the products in this line aren't tested on animals. Smelled great in the tube, kinda orangey which I love. When I put it on my hands, it felt nice but the scent was too strong. I love fruit scents but only if they aren't strong. This was quite strong for me but I'm sensitive to smells. This should be just fine for people who have no sensitivities to odors.

I don't understand why so many people like this. It smells fine, like oranges, and the texture is fine not greasy like some hand lotions. But after rubbing it in my hands still feel dry and have an odd tingly sensation. The tingly thing I could probably live with but my hands being just as dry after I put it on I can't. I have a feeling that the alcohol is the reason for my dry skin, or I am allergic.Either way it is going to be returned.

This does have a strong citrusy sent though it is not unpleasant. I like how the cream moisturises without being greasy at all. I get dry hands but they also get quite hot and I don't like the feeling of a film on my skin so this is perfect. Another great product from Weleda! Also as an aside, you can visit the Weleda factory and see how their products are grown (herbs, flowers etc.) and made - it's a really nice day out.
