I bought this as a BOGO on drugstore.com. I ordered the green and purple mascara. The brush on the green is great, and the purple is not so great. The green mascara lengthened my lashes and I used a brow eyeliner/lash tool to remove the clumps. The key to success is to run this product under hot water prior to application. This is an old trick that I learned when I was poor in my twenties and could not replace my mascare on a monthly basis...The green color is subtle and only noticable if your turn sideways ( I am a brunette) - it's still my favorite green colored mascara. I doubt that I will buy this product again...

Want a mascara that makes your lashes look sparser, straighter, and that's hard to remove? Then this is the one for you! Me, I'll go back to my good ol' reliable CG Lash Blast in Black Brown. Seriously, I gave this one lippie because the colour -- although nowhere near as "intense" as on the packaging -- is actually quite nice and sophisticated. Not black, not brown, not grey. Something in between. And it didn't smudge all day. But really...you can do so much better than this mascara. A little background: I got it because a co-worker who has hazel eyes wore the Raisin Quartz a lot, and it looked stunning on her! Suddenly she had long, thick, soft lashes, and you could actually see the colour of the mascara (not distracting, just enhancing her eye colour). I didn't get the Raisin Quartz because any time I put anything "ruddy" near my eyes they tend to look bloodshot. Well, this was not a good way to go. I'm so disappointed in this mascara, I don't think I'll bother trying any other Almay ones. And I definitely won't repurchase this one.

Ugh! I have tried THREE of the intense i-Color mascaras (Emerald Green, Purple Amethyst, and the Plum) and they are all TERRIBLE! I was intrigued and bought all three at once (big mistake) and although I loved the colors the mascara itself was too thick, gloopy and gave me the worst spider clumped lashes I have ever had. These mascaras were awful. The Emerald, however, was the worst - it was not as clumpy as the others but made my eyes sting. I was insanely dissapointed with this product. My search for a decent colored mascara continues...

i can't fathom why this product has such poor reviews. the colour is NOT a bright obnoxious green so don't get it expecting a halloween-worthy colour. its a very subtle effect. more importantly though, this product has an awesome wand. it is NEVER clumpy... what more could you want? i finally ran out of my first tube after about 5 months and am on to the second.

I like it as a mascara, nice want, not to thick or thin, last a while, low smudges. Is it Green?? NOOOOO!!!! I bought it (and it's purple counterpart) with the thought it would dry a nice colour, it didn't. My lashes are not dark, this stuff goes on green and dries dark, almost black.

It was not worth the money unless you want black lashes.

On my dark lashes this product barely shows up, which is due to the fact that hardly any of the moss green/grey stuff comes off the wand. Other reviewers are calling it dry and I guess this is really the only way to put it... lousy mascara if you like to really coat your lashes and make your eyes pop. Takes way too long to get any off the wand. I am going to try to return to Walgreens -- paid about $7-8.

Ewwww! Worst mascara I've used ever! It was an ugly green colour, it dried out within 2 weeks, didn't do shit for bringing out my eyes, applied clumpy and flaky and goopy and didn't even do anything besides add a slight [ugly] tint of colour. Seriously, how did Almay mess up a mascara so bad? This was even worse than Maybelline XXL Volume Waterproof Mascara (with the primer?) and that's saying something. I wouldn't even take this if they were giving this out for free with an included diamond necklace.

Yes, the wand could be better but this stuff is inexpensive and Almay makes the only mascara that doesn't make my eyes itch.

I have very pale lashes and black is way over the top for me and so are far too many browns. As others have said, this green is more of a grey/sage/lite brownish color and looks very natural but gives my eyes some depth and ooomph. I can wear it all day with no allergy problems and that's the main thing. It doesn't make my lashes longer or fuller. I have this in Raisin quartz as well and it's beautiful...really brings out the turq. in my eyes. Will continue to use as long as they make it.

I'm really picky with mascara but I actually liked this. It didnt flake or bleed which i usually have a problem with since my lashes are long and thick and touch my cheeks and upper eyes. The colour was not very noticeable. I didnt think that it made my green eyes "more intense" but I'm considering buying the black one for everyday use. It gives a lash that separates and thickens. It's also buildable for the thickness I prefer. I enjoyed it and i didnt have to use makeup remover to take it off. Came off well in the shower.

This product is ok. It clumps too much for me and the green is just too bold.

I have always liked the concept of colored mascara for a fun, different look, but they have always been impossible to find. When I saw this product I just had to try it. I thought it would be more noticible but it is not. However, somehow it does make my eyes appear more green.

I love this mascara! I technically have blue eyes, but they're more teal than anything, and this mascara made that color just pop. I literally had people stopping me in stores asking me "where I got those amazing contacts!" or just stating that they've never seen such a beautiful eye color. I also found that this mascara lengthened my lashes wonderfully and didn't clump much at all. Will definately buy again and again.

I had seen this product many times in the store, but hesitated to purchase because I am in my mid-30's and thought that green mascara may be a little much. After seeing it on sale for about $3.79, I decided to try it- did not have much to lose at that price! Unlike some of the reviewers, I was actually happy to see that it was more like a moss green and not a bright emerald green. I have hazel eyes, which have more green than brown, and this color actually does accent the green in my eyes without looking like I have green mascara on. I like the shape of the brush and how it fits to my lashes. I did find the product to be just a touch on the dry side, but overall, I really like this mascara and I'm going to purchase it again.

I bought this hoping for a nice pop of color...I didn't expect it to be vibrant, but I thought it would be at least somewhat noticeable when the light hit it. Nope. Can't see it at all. I even tried to layer it over black mascara just to make sure it didn't help it stand out more...no luck. It's also very thick and sticky on the brush...I was really expecting better quality for the price/brand, but I know better than to trust Almay now. Fortunately, Target has a great return policy and I'll be taking this and getting my money back on my next trip.

I never knew what raccoon eyes was as a result of mascara until I tried this product. It made rings around my eyes and looked terrible. It also did not bring out the color of my eyes, did not make my lashes look fuller, and did not lengthen them whatsoever. This is a terrible product that I would never recommend to anybody. I wish I had read some reviews before wasting my money.

First time trying this particular product. i have tried the color coordinated eye shadows. But anyway... the mascara

I have dark brown hair, pale-light skin and my eyes change color daily - between hazel - light green and then deep dark green. I wanted to bring out the "green" in my eyes and regualr black mascara was too harsh, made me look pale and washed out. Tried this green tinted mascara and LOVE it. Made my eyes POP instantly. I use a different brand of eye shadow but keep using shades in the recommended color family.. Looks great with this mascara. Went on clean and clump free. Definetly lengthened, but not so sure about thickining. i would purchase again. Another great item added to my makeup bag!

I had been searching for a maroon or deep wine colored mascara for a while (had one years ago from Revlon, but it was discontinued). My friend had the Almay i-color volumizing mascara for green eyes in "Raisin Quartz" and intended to purchase it for me as a gift. However, she grabbed the "Emerald Green" lengthening mascara instead.

I really enjoy experimenting with color, so I was excited to give it a go. But I was quickly disappointed. The mascara is very heavy and clumped going on the lashes. I'm not particularly fond of the brush, as it got extremely gunky after only two applications.

Perhaps the most disappointing factor was the color. The "Emerald Green" looks more like a moss green in the tube, and it doesn't show very well on my lashes. I applied several coats, but still didn't achieve a desirable hue.

I really like this mascara, and although you can't notice the mascara, i can definetly see a bit more green in my eyes. I use this with the i-color eyeshadow and it really makes my green eyes stand out. It does clump a bit, but comb it after and it's all good. And if you find that your some of your lashes curl downwards (even after curling them) or it's really hard to mascara on smoothly, rub a bit of vaseline onto your lashes before putting on your mascara.

Well, I have been looking for a true emerald green mascara for awhile now and was excited to see this at Target. Well, the mascara itself is not bad, but I already have a mascara I love. I bought it for the color not a a replacement for my everyday mascara.

Needless to say-it does not show up. You kind kinda see it in a magnified mirror with bright light, but what is the point of that.

So-unless you have clear or white lashes-don't waste your money.

I'm surprised at the low rating of this product because I LOVE it. I have hazel eyes with a brown cast, and I thought this really made them look MUCH more green and pretty. My advice though, is to use a true brown and then to layer with this color. Really makes your eyes POP!
