Bought this Sunday and I really like this! I have dry, dehydrated skin that feels like sandpaper. It seems to confuse the heck out of aestheticians. Even a facial only lasts one day and then back to the dry feeling. I've even done a peel type facial and again...back to the dry feeling. But my skin doesn't look like it's dry or scaly or anything so it's stumped people as to what I need or should do. I have tried numerous products from moisturizers to exfoliaters, serums and facial oils for the past two years. This stuff delivers! When I bought it, I thought I have nothing to lose, just one more product to try. Now I just need a day moisturizer. I have used a bit of this during the day as well as at night because it just feel sooo good. And then I add a day moisturizer, EL or ROC just to make sure makeup doesn't slip and slide, but I wear more of a tinted moisturizer anyway, so it's not much of an issue. I'm 42, so less is more! You will like this!!

This stuff is great. I have very dry and red winter skin, and this is a great exfoliator. I got a large sample from sephora, which has lasted me a month. You only need to apply a thin layer of this to see results. I leave it on overnight and wake up to softer, flake-free skin that's less red. I even think it's helping a little with my acne. It's not quite enough moisture for me so I layer it with moisturizer, but I think if you have normal or oily skin this will be all you need. I've never had skin irritation from it despite the high glycolic acid content.

If this were cheaper, it would be my HG product. For now, I'm going to try cheaper products to see if I can get the same effect.

This is the BEST glycolic moisturizer. Not drying at all. I wear it at night and when I wake up, my skin is smooth and glowing. After one month, my combination/dry skin was supple and smooth. Blackhead have reduced drastically and my pores are smaller in notice. I use it only at night, because as an active glycolic, I worry about sun damage. Also it causes my makeup to move.

I have been turned onto glycolic creams about a year ago starting with neo strata creams. I found the neo strata stuff a little too clinical- they stung a little and I didn't like the high alcohol content in some of their stuff. After a bit of a search I found PTR's 10% glycolic cream.

I liked this immediately because the cream is nice and thick- perfect because glycolic acid may be a little drying for some people. Also I loved that this comes in a no none sense squeeze tube - easy for travel, and a lot more sanitary than the jars that you have to dip your fingers into.

I'm on the second tube of this and my skin has looked so great while I've been using this. I find that my skin craves a little more moisture than this gives during the winter months (I live in toronto where it gets SO DRY in winter) so sometimes I layer some face oil on top of this is still one of the more moisturizing glycolic creams I've tried.

Current HG and this is pretty big because I'm super picky when it comes to skincare stuff.

I feel that I can write an informed review on this product as I have just finished the whole tube. I bought and started using it in either November or December of 2011 and it is now the end of August 2012. During this time, I would say that i used it very frequently: there were some periods of time where I wouldnt use it too much and other, longer periods of time where I used it almost every day.

During the period of time that I was using this product I tried out several other products, but used this pretty consistantly. This past year I have done a ton of research into skincare with the help of the Skin Care Board on MUA and Paula Begoun at times (even though she can be biased). That is how I found this product, Paula Begoun rated it as one of her top picks on Beautipedia for AHA and it had good reviews here on MUA. I already knew that my skin liked glycolic acid so I was not worried about using a 10% product.

After doing much research on skincare, looking into the products I had been using and learning about my own skin in the past year I have realised that my skin is quite clog and acne prone when treated with the wrong products. So after using this product for close to a year, I feel I can definitively say that this product did not contribute to any breakouts. Upon application, I did experience a slight stinging sensation but I was used to this having used glycolic acid before. It is not incredibly moisturising but does the job, atleast for my skin, and upon application sinks right in to a matte finish. However, with all glycolic products you should only use it at night and a sunscreen in the daytime to prevent aging and sun-damage as a glycolic product makes your skin photosensitive.

Now, as for the results I experienced? Over time I did notice an evening of skin tone and more clarity and brightness to my skin. However, it is worth noting that I am young (early 20s) and I dont have extreme hyperpigmentation or sun damage. Therefore, I view this product as more of a maintenance and preventative product for myself. If you are looking for a nicely formulated glycolic acid product I would say this one is worth trying.

I started using this product about two months ago just to maintain my "clear" skin. It's been really good so far, I use the glycolic acid serum as well at night. It doesn't have SPF so I would definitely recommend using a sunscreen because glycolic acid does make skin more sensitive to the sun. The price is also a downside...its a little pricey but definitely worth the results since it doesnt break me out.

I love this product. I have been using this for a few months now and it has greatly improved my skin tone. I have acne prone skin on my t-zone and I feel like this product has gradually faded hyper-pigmentation i have from previous breakouts, quickened healing time of active breakouts (from other products/time of the month), and made the areas I don't break out smoother and practically glowing! It is pretty pricey for such a small bottle but I love that it is a squeeze tube so its hygienic and I find a pea size amount is more than enough for my face. It does tingle a little when I first apply it but it has not irritated my sensitive skin and mild rosacea.

Age: 25-29   Skin: Normal, Medium   Hair: Brown   Eyes: Brown

I like this product. But, I want to point out a few issues I've had with it as a heads-up to others who are thinking about purchasing or have just purchased it.

Background: I have been using this product for almost 3 years. I'm on my third bottle. I have normal skin with slighly oily T-zone. No acne, some occational blemishes every month, but minor. I bought this product because I wanted a non-abrasive exfoliant, something to remove the dead layer of skin without physical abrasion.

First 6 months: Since it said moisturizer, I used this nightly as my sole moisturizer after my cleanser. I thought it did a good job making my skin look clearer and brighter. For the few days my skin was a bit sensitive. I think I used too much product. So, in an effort to use less of the 10% active ingredient, I would moisten my face before applying so that the cream had more slip and I could apply a thinner layer. This helped. However, while this is a good chemical exfoliant, I think the name moisturizer is misleading. It is not very moisturizing. If you had dry skin, I don't think this would cut it. Anyway, since I have normal skin, it worked ok, but I started to notice some drying particularly as winter rolled around.

First year: This moisturizer was not enough for me in the winter. My skin got so dry just using this that my foundation started to flake in places and the skin on my nose was peeling (not pretty!). I was so confused what was causing this because I had been getting such good results up til then from this product. I think the changing weather and dryer air exacerbated the worst qualities of this product. Again, it is not very moisturizing and you can really notice this in the winter. So winter time, I use this first sparingly, only in areas that need it and then top with my Embryolisse or other moisturizer.

Second year summer: As an alpha-hydroxy acid, glycolic acid will make your skin more sensitive to UV light. This means you skin will be more prone to sun damage and you absolutely need a sunscreen if you're usnig this product. I get away with it in the winter because 1) I use less of this for the reasons mentioned above and 2) I'm rarely in the sun for long. In my first summer using this, I did not notice too much extra sensitivity, but I had only had the product for a few months. However, the second year, after I had been using it on my skin for a full year, I noticed a drastic change. My skin would immediately show signs of sun exposure if I wasn't careful. On parts of my jaw where I missed applying sunscreen or was not shielded by my hat, I got painful, red, pimple-like bumps (maybe they were pimples, but they only showed up where the sun hit). I can tell, because my forehead and upper cheeks, being shielded by my hat, never broke out. So, be vigilant about your sunscreen if you use this product often.

Third year: after a few years of using this, I think the initial effect of glowy skin has worn off. Perhaps because my skin has reached some sort of equilibrium with this. I no longer use this every night. I find it too drying for every day and I want to reduce my skin's sensitivity to the sun. I think while it's great to have clear, glowy skin, I don't want my skin so sensitive that I'm afraid to go on impromtu sunny walks or hikes =P

Final note. I have suspected that the quality of this product deteriorates dramatically with time. By the end of the year, I'm nearly through a whole bottle but there's usually a bit left. However, I throw it out and get a new one. I've noticed that near the end of the year, the product does not seem to work as well as it used to. The effects are reduced and it dries/irritates my skin. And when I buy a new bottle, everything works as it should. So just a heads up, you may want to replace this every year even if you're not finished the bottle. I store this in a fairly cool, dark place in my dresser so it's not sun or heat that is causing the active ingredients to deteriorate.

Obviously, I like this product. I have repurchased many times, and I continue to use it. However, over time, my expectations and uses of this have changed. I now use twice a week instead of every day and I think the results are better.

I have been using this for almost 6 weeks now and can honestly say this product gets HQ status from me. MY skin has been just awful this past year. I got off BC and my skin totally freaked out. huge cystic pimples that would never go away on my chin and mouth area. I was left with dark marks and scarring and no amount of makeup would cover it. I Have not even been able to do any modeling because of my skin condition. It was depressing to say the least.

I knew PTR products were good, but never tried any of his Glycolic products. I've tried MD Forte and Paula's Choice in the past with a lot of irritation, peeling and more breakouts, so I stopped. Since the ingredients in this formula were more moisturizing (Glycerin and aloe are in it), I thought I would give it a desperate try. I started every other night. I got tiny pimples here and there, but I expected that. You only need one or two pumps for the whole face, any more than that, is just a waste. Thin layer is the key. I'm now using this night and day and my skin has adapted and as soon as a I ramped it up, my skin dramatically cleared. My Acne scars and spots are fading I have noticed that the lines on my forehead have diminished. My complexion is smoother in appearance. Glycolics are excellent for repairing sin texture issues and this one has far been the best one I have tried. I have had little if no irritation and I am somewhat sensitive. I cannot say enough about this product!!! I will definitely keep it in my arsenal!!!!

Update: I am now using this with the PTR Peel pads. The combo of these products have faded my post acne marks by about 80%. I now use this 10% moisturizer day and night and under my other moisturizers. I get very dry in the winter and PTR has saved my skin. It's smoother and now I hardly need anything other than concealer and a lttle powder during the day. I used to have to wear a full face of makeup to even leave the house. Miracle in a bottle for me.

I'm 42, have been using high-end skincare and make up for over 20 years and have never raved about any product before - this is it! While I don't expect any product will make my skin younger and wrinkles disappear, this makes my skin feel much better than anything else I've tried. Will be buying again and again.
Partly thanks to Paula Beguon too.:)

I love love this! I have tried quite a few glycolic moisturizers. This makes my skin feel amazing and soft! I think this will replace my Neostra Ultra Smoothing Cream which has been the best AHA treatment I have found so far! But will update after I've used it for about a month or two. i only wear this at night.

Update: This is the best! I love using it. In the winter if it's snot enough moisture at night I add a few drops of Rosehip oil before I put this on. It makes my skin soft and this cream makes my skin so smooth, clear and improves the toner of my skin. This has never broken me out. So it's a keeper for sure.

I LOVE this moisturizer. I began using this in 2006 and have purchased it on several occasions since then. Of course I have used other creams but nothing has compared to this.

This cream makes my face so soft and smooth. It’s ridiculous. I use it only at night. In the morning my skin is super smooth. Sometimes there is a bit of a tingling sensation but for the most part my skin responds well to this cream. This is a must have!

SIDE NOTE: I bought the Retinol Fusion PM serum from PTR and was not happy. It felt oily and I didn’t see any noticeable change. I returned it and got the PTR glycolic moisturizer and a cleanser!

i like this product. I have been using for 1 week, i keep looking at my skin - that must be a good sign! it feels quite nourishing and hydrating, even a little shiny for my liking but maybe that is just my rosacea? (It doesn't feel oily.) I will update this with more use.

*update: it is recommended to use this am and pm, but I find I can skip a day or two and still get a good result.

I was very happy with DDF Glycolic Acid 10% Acne treatment gel,
had been acne free for a long time.
One day DDF Gel was sold out at Sephora, so I thought this will be the same thing as DDF GeI.

But I used this for 3 days, then small white bumps, and cystic red bumps was coming out all over my face and my skin was getting so itchy and became very sensitive. Some kind of allergic reaction.
This was not good for me at all... I'm going back to DDF again.

I really like this moisturizer and have never really tried anything like it before. It goes on smoothly and disappears into the skin. It doesn't feel greasy or sticky when on the face. It did sting a little initially when I first started using this but I guess my skin was not used to this kind of product. After several weeks of use my skintone has become more even and my skin feels much smoother.

So far so good. I've been using for about 1 week and have noticed the fine lines on my forehead definitly seem softened. In conjunction with this moisturizer, I use Philosphy Hope in A Jar for dry sensitive skin. PTR does not provide enough moisturizer for my dry skin, but I use this first then layer Hope in a Jar.
There is a slight tingling, but nothing major. I also like that it is gentle enough to be used on my sensitive skin. I'm able to use it every night with no problems.

I bought this because it was one fo the products recommended in Paula Begouns latest edition, and she also believes that facial scrubs are ntotreally necessary if you use a product like this and your wash cloth to exfoliate. Makes perfectly good sense to me.
The moisturizer has the same texture as my much more expensive kinerase cream but has the enzymes to exfoliate at the same time. I have normal to dry skin and this is very moisturizing but has almost a matte texture that sinks in quickly. It tingles a bit at first, but if I can stand mama lotion, I can stand this for a sec. :)

I use this on my nose and chin, where I am trying to get rid of my blackheads (the PTR glycolic range is doing wonders for this). I absolutely love it, because I know the glycolic acid is doing its stuff while the other ingredients leave a nice matte finish on my skin that doesn't go oily or shiny or show up my pores - quite the opposite, it hides them really well.

It leaves my skin soft all day, but I don't think of it as a moisturiser, more as a skin re-finishing glycolic treatment that evens things out before I leave the house. I use a light SPF moisturiser over the top if I'm going out and this makes a nice base for it.
