deep berry toned red in what I would say is a jelly base, with red and silver glitter. I love this color, but the application is streaky (usually happens with most jellies). Takes about 3 coats of mindful application to even out.
The color is really beautiful. It can tend to look a little flat when all is said and done, but it comes right back to life with a good top coat.
It also looks great over dark cremes!

Beautiful color but is very streaky. I actually like the color with two thin coats but need to apply a 3rd coat cuz it's so streaky. Then it looks almost black and you can't even see the nice glitters.

Nice deep red/burgundy... Essie quality. Too bad I don't like glitter (and this one has some serious sparkle), so I don't use it too often.

This is a lovely deep red with glitter in it (which only appeared when I put the second coat on). I feel like ana dult with it on! Haha it's a very pretty shade, glitter and all.

Great color. I wish I'd found this before I bought the opi russian shades. I'd been looking for a perfect deep red- and this is it. The glitter isnt over the top- and it is really the perfect shade of deep sexy red. Very nice...

Hot Commodity is a wine/burgundy (more purple-wine than burgundy) color with a spattering of chunky glitter in it. It's not a full on glittery nail polish, but it certainly is noticeable and is more than just shimmer. The glitter kind of makes it hard to apply, I think. Nonetheless, it's a pretty color and I think that most people would enjoy this (at least on their toes). Hot Commodity is from the 2004 winter Frozen Assets collection.

This is a deep berry-toned red with loads of micro-glitter. The shade is so dark that you really can't see the glitter until you're in the sunlight or you "look" for it. I have this on my toes and it looks great. The application, however, was less than great. It was a tad streaky and I had to apply 3 coats to get it completely even. It also didn't seem to dry as quickly as I thought it should. I do like the color a lot, so I'll keep it and I would recommend it to those that like deep vampy reds.

Ok, so i tried this when i first bought it and it goes on pretty thin and streaky and dries slowly...i felt like i needed a third coat to even it out...so i just got tired of waiting and not using my hands and took it all off and forgot about it.
However today, I thought i'd try it on top of my nails which i had painted black in OPI's Black Satin. And to my surprise, one coat of this creates a dark, deep vampy and slightly shimmery blood colour. Beautiful.
I doubt i'll use this up, but if i do, i'll repurchase.

It's definitely my favorite toe color. I always use dark colors for toes, and this nailpolish, with its microglitter, gives a great look, ultra shiny, and as said before quite vampish, very sexy...
Besides, sometimes I'm quite lazy regarding changing nailpolish, so sometimes just put another coat and go on with the same for another week, and Essie stays on like a miracle: no chips whatsoever.
Great Essie nailpolish!

Hot Commodity is a deep berry red with red microglitter. I don't generally care for glitter on the fingernails, so this will definitely be a toe colour for me. It's very pretty, has a lot of depth, and is quite unique (at least I don't have anything quite the same). I think this would flatter a variety of skintones, as it somehow seems quite neutral.

This is a fun color, especially for toes. It's a deep berry with subtle red glitter. The first time I tried to apply this, it looked terrible and I removed it. Then I read on the boards that it really evens out as it dries, so I gave it another chance with an opaque ridge filler underneath. This time it looked really good. This is my first Essie polish, and it's on my toes, so I can't really comment on wear yet. (Even cheapie brands last forever on my toes!)

Beautiful vampish red/plum shade with micro-glitter. Like a previous reviewer said, one coat goes on nice and even, and the second gives it that extra kick. My issue with this is that it chipped really badly after one day. I decided to fix the chips and then add another coat on all the nails for evenness. The third coat makes the polish look extra vampish and super plum (I don't usually do three coats on anything). After all that, and even with another layer of topcoat, the polish still chipped the next day. I know that dark shades are always more prone to chips, but for me (even with drugstore brands) that doesn't happen at least until the second day of wear. This Essie chips on a daily basis and very easily. I'll keep working with this shade, but I wouldn't repurchase it.

A very nice deep plummy red with red microglitter. It looks great on my cool-toned PPP fingertips. However, I would not buy it again simply because I've decided that I don't like glitter in nailpolish. Especially in dark nail polish because in certain lights, I feel like it makes the polish look water-spotted. However, if you are a glitter or shimmer gal, this polish is a must have for fall!

I love this color. I'm very into deep berries and reds right now, so this looked promising. At first I was a little wary of the glitter, but as soon as I put it on I loved it. This is the first Essie nail polish I've tried and I'm in love. I bought a bunch of shades from Trade Secret, at 80% off. Meaning less than two bucks a pop- who could resist. It goes on very smoothly. The color is so shiny, too! Definitely not like any drugstore brand I've tried. Even one coat looked good. Two coats produced an even shinier and deeper color. Not sure about chip-resistance, since I just put it on. But so far, so good!

Not bad...Hot Commodity has a deep berry red base with loads and loads of red micro-glitter (not the annoying, impossible to take off kind), but I swear Maybelline has a similar shade. But then again, Maybelline's glitter needed an electric sander to get the glitter off my nails!
