I am very very impressed with this mascara. It's waterproof and it does exactly what I want my mascara to do- hold curl and make my lashes pitch black.
The trick with this mascara is to remove excess from the brush (same as any mascara) and swipe it upwards while wiggling. The ONLY downside w/ this mascara is that once it's on, it's on. It's hard to comb through lashes and get them perfect because this mascara dries really quickly. I don't know how long the tube will last but I am impressed with this and will buy it again!

This actually is a pretty good mascara. It gives me great length.I got it on sale for like a buck.HG worthy
**UPDATE**
This mascara holds a curl really well.I put this on around 12 or so and its now 8 and it hardly has dropped at all.I thought that I'd have to spend a lot of money for a good mascara, but apparently not!

I think this is such a great value - its a nice basic, cheap mascara. I've gotten quite a few compliments on my lashes with this on.

I don't understand what's with all the horrible reviews~ I haven't tested it's abilities being waterproof/smudgeproof~ I'll update late about that but in terms of visual effects, this is not bad~ excellent lengthening abilities~ gives a very defined, fluttery look~ like you have a billion seperated lashes instead of the thick/clumpy look~

I bought this product expecting it to be what its name entailed- waterproof. To start off, it is extremely clumpy. I've never seen a mascara so clumpy in my life. Second of all, you have to apply about 4 coats in order to make it show up on your lashes. Thirdly, it is absolutely not waterproof whatsoever. I went swimming with it on, and after about an hour it had almost completely come off. I guess the saying "you get what you pay for" fits nicely here. This mascara requires too much work to put on just to see racoon eyes an hour later. Terrible product and I would not touch it with a ten foot pole.

I seem to be the only one who loves this mascara. The formula was not dry, maybe I got the good tube, cause it was wet. It makes my lashes long and for the price its only 1.99 american at Kmart!

I'm reviewing this in the new version after Jane discontinued and relaunched their entire line. And it's not the same. It's one of those "do-nothing" mascaras. On top of that, the mascara tends to accumulate near the bottom of the wand...no wonder so little ends up on my lashes!

I bought 10 waterproof drugstore mascaras recently, and plan to review them all. I probably have the worst natural eyelashes on the planet, barring people who have medical or traumatic eyelash loss or damage. My Asian lashes are extremely sparse, poker-straight, and short short short. I also must use waterproof formulas, because the quick-drying water-free wax in them keeps the curl from my lash curler from drooping out. I won't be commenting on removeability, because from my experience, ALL waterproof mascaras that are really waterproof are difficult to remove. That is an unavoidable fact.
This mascara contains fibers that do thicken, but the fibers got into my eyes even during application. While there is some thickening effect from the fibers, this eye irritation component is a real problem. It let out the curl in my lashes instantly, and smudged after a couple hours. I threw this in the trash.

The texture of mine is runny. I'm not sure what the deal with that is. Also, after a while (a few hours) it starts flaking off. I will continue to use the tube. Maybe things will get better.

i really love this mascara. i got it to use in the summer when i'm out all day getting sweaty or swimming. i get zero clumps even when i just swipe it on quickly. it does smudge a little if i wear it all day, but the effect is usually really pretty. once i run out of my maybelline define-a-lash i might try this in the non-waterproof formula.

This is such a good deal for the money. Better than a lot of high end mascaras. Really is waterproof.

It's gorgeous and thickening when you put this on (it has tiny eyelash-looking fibers in the black goop), but why on earth is it labeled "waterproof?" It was flake city and gave me raccoon smudges in a couple of hours! Moreover, it dried out and was totally unusable within 2 weeks, so I don't know that it was such a bargain once you consider that! However, I didn't have a problem applying with the brush like other reviewers--I thought it had a good amount on the brush and applied reasonably well. But, this mascara was really only usuable for more than 2 hours when I coated it with a waterproofer on top-- but, that was a major bummer as it claimed to be waterproof.

The fibers didn't do much but flake off. On the plus side, it's a very nice deep black.

This stuff is incredible. Set me back a whopping $1.74 and delivered long, beautiful, separated, feathery lashes. Usually I get the greatly desired mascara smudgies under my eyes that make me look old and tired (*scoff!*), but this cheapie mascara surprisingly stays in place rather well. Three cheers for this product!

Not really a fan. I've been on a quest for the last week or so to find the perfect new mascara and bought this at Rite-Aid for $3.99. The tube itself is very cute; I like the curved top, and I especially like the big clear lettering on the lower portion. However, the brush is much too large and the mascara comes out very clumpy, I guess the thin little hair-like bits on the bristles are supposed to be the fibers? Too bad, I have to give this a good couple of squeezes in a tissue before applying so it doesn't make a clumpy mess of my lashes, and then there's barely anything left so I have to do several coats to even see a result. Doesn't smear or flake but today I noticed in the middle of the day that there was barely any color left on the tips of my lashes and had to reapply. I might use this for a few more days to get at least a bit more of my money's worth but I certainly won't use it up.

I tried to apply this but it came out of the bottle so dry and clumpy that it was like smearing black lumps all over my lashes. I tried to wipe off the wand and try again, but it stayed lumpy.
I love Jane stuff, but this one didn't work. Maybe I got an old bottle?

PROS: I liked that this mascara had an instant "effect" on my lashes--the little fiber things in it really helped plump and lengthen my lashes a LOT. Makes for an innocent, doe-eyed look, as it also looks quite natural.
CONS: Because I wear contacts, sometimes my eyes BURN like crazy because of the little fiber things in it, but I take caution not to rub my eyes when I have this mascara on. It flakes and smudges a little, hence the minused lippy. Plus, the brush picks up CLUMPS of mascara. I have to wipe down the brush before using, which irritates me and cuts into my morning time.
Regardless of the cons, once the brush is clean of clumps, this mascara goes on beautifully. Love the finish, but is a bit too high-maintenance for me. Would repurchase for the length and fullness it gave my lashes, but please Jane, change the tube shape so that the brush doesn't pick up so many gobs of mascara!

this is the by far the best mascara i've ever bought. and when i say the best, i really mean it - i'm usually a fan of shiseido's extra length mascara, but sometimes i feel like i'm wasting my hard earn money on a tiny tube of mascara for $25 each. actually it was my 15 year old cousin who introduced me to this mascara, and i was sooooo amazed with the result, better yet, it even looks better than the shiseido mascara with only 1/5 of its price.

Huge rave. This is what I wanted from MAC Fibre Rich but didn't get.The wand gets a bit messy, but wipe off the end(sounds dirty! :P ) and you're good to go.Builds lashes that are thick, full, flirty and has not flaked or clumped badly. Also, the price is great-I do not buy dept store mascaras as I throw them out after 3 mos anyway,so it's not cost effective for me, and truth be told, drugstore mascaras are good quality.Best thing about this mascara-it is waterproof so it holds a curl, and comes off fairly easily with an oil based eye makeup remover.
