This is a great product. I use it as a foundation base and a moisturiser. My skin is combinational and there are spots of the face, where my skin is very dry and sometime when applying foundation that part looks flaky. However, with this base my skin gets enough moisture and acts as a glue to the foundation and my skin looks better than before. I would definitely buy this again

If you are acne prone/oily, this is probably the best Bobbi Brown moisturizer for me. I've been using it for about a month now, at night and during the day under my makeup. I've seen a massive improvement in my skin, in fact, this surprisingly has been one of the best products I've ever used as far as getting rid of acne (mild). Simplicity is key when it really comes down to it!

Great primer, but not sure if it hydrates enough

I bought this Moisturizer once because I consider Bobbi Brown a very good cosmetic brand and i love the products, but all the BB skincare products ive tried are not that good, i think are expensive and the quality is not the best. About this cream doesn have SPF, absorbs quickly and its not oily but for the price i expect more, I didnt buy it again,

Finally, I have found a good daytime moisturiser! After Kiehl's discontinued their Lycopene face cream, I was devastated. Enter a few years of fumbling around trying different products, and this one landed in my lap.

I think I have thing for lycopene products - they just work so well on me, because this Face Base has lycopene too! It is quite thick in texture, but spreads out easily once you put it on your face - oh, and it smells absolutely divine! It's like vitamin-y candy fruity goodness on my face, every morning. With toner underneath, and sometimes an "essence" of sorts, this really keeps my skin very well hydrated, and FLAKE FREE! I used to have to worry about flaky skin after applying foundation sometimes, but this is no longer the case! I use this in the winter AND the summer, too - it's so good at balancing between hydration vs. grease/oil that I don't find this too heavy in the summer, yet it still holds up against the harsh winters. FYI I used this in the summer in Asia where it was humid and hot, in London where it never got warmer than 30 degrees, and it was fine in both places!

Love this - I'm on my second jar, and will be stocking up on my third the next time I swing through an airport duty-free. It is a bit pricey, but totally worth it if you have dry, prone-to-flaky skin like me!

I AM A BOBBI BROWN FREELANCE MAKEUP ARTIST. For those of you using this as your only moisturizer, but says this doesn't work, that's because THIS IS NOT A MOISTURIZER,, THIS IS A MAKEUP PRIMER. This is used AFTER your moisturizer, but BEFORE your makeup application. Its used to fill in lines and have your makeup last.

Bought this after seein so many rave reviews on it. But it really didn't quite work for me. The scent is nice but it doesn;t seem to make my makeup last very much longer. Now, I use this as my day moisturiser instead and use Shu Uemura's UV underbase mouse and my make up goes on so much better and the staying power is also improved.

I loved the smell and feel of this, but it made my face break out for the first time in twenty years -- I kept hoping it was something else that was causing the problem, because I so enjoyed the smell of this, so I stopped using my Philosophy Microdermabrasion peel, though it had never caused breakouts before, switched night creams, etc., but the breakouts kept happening (and always at the most embarrassing times, of course, like when I had some big party to attend), so I am reluctantly throwing this out. Bobbi Brown says it's for all skin types, but judging from some other reviews here I'd say it just isn't meant for combination skins.

I now have to edit this review, as I realized it might be my Urban Decay primer, not this, that was making my face break out! I read some reviews of the UD primer that complained of breakouts, and realized I had started using them both at the same time...

In my mid-40s w/combo but growing drier skin. I thought it might be too heavy, but it smoothes right in. I use AM and PM in the fall-winter and just PM in spring. Has a strong smell which I love but might not be for everyone (orange, geranium). I just wish BB would switch too plastic containers -- broke one already when it landed in the sink.

Great cream. I have just finished my first jar, it lasted 6 months, using every morning. I have first used a serum then a small amount of this ..you don't need much, warm it in your fingers and pat in. Then I use foundation or the new Garnier BB cream. my skin is moisturised, and the makeup is still there in the evening. Smells divine.
Does seem expensive initialy but it lasts so long thats is actually very good value.

Just an average silicone-based thing... My skin is normal, and this is too thick for it during the summer but not enough moisturizing for the winter. Didn't noticed any clogged pores either. Smells nice though - like a real orange peel!

I have combination skin, so hesitated buying this, but I'm really glad I did. I use it as a primer underneath foundation, also after washing my face and it hasn't caused any problem with oiliness at all. I know a lot of people don't seem to care for the scent, but I love it. It has a clean, citrusy scent which goes away after a bit. I also use it alone and my complexion looks nicer after applying. My makeup seems to last much longer, looks smoother and more natural when used as a primer. I'll definitely always use this. I just wish it weren't so expensive ($50), but I only need to use a small amount which goes far, so it'll last awhile.

Initially impressed with this product's performance as a skin-enhancing primer (when applied instore by SA). However, after just a short period of use at home, it proved to be too heavy for my combination skin. Congested pores resulted.

Love love LOVE this product! I also wrote a review for the BB Hydrating Gel Cream (hated it) so you can check out my opinions on it over there. Long story short: I originally intended to buy this one but a pushy SA convinced me to get the hydrating gel which I loathed and exchanged it for this one (my original choice). I love that while this cream is very thick and seems rather daunting and screaming that it will clog your pores, it really doesn't. Because it's so thick, I find it actually EASIER to spread a thin even layer on my face (when I swipe my finger in the jar, I get the perfect thin amount to spread on my face). I do 1 short swipe per area of the face: cheeks (separate), nose+upper lip/chin, and forehead. It absorbs very quickly and doesn't leave your face oily before makeup. But what made me fall in love with this little jar? It got rid of all my evil little dry skin flakies. For me, I have combo skin and when I get acne, after I treat it with something, the pimple dries up but the surrounding skin gets extremely dry and flaky which only gets emphasized with makeup thus drawing more attention to the blemishes I'm trying to hide. But once I started using the face base, it's so hydrating it got rid of pretty much all my flakies without overloading the rest of my face or clogging pores. I also love the lemony scent - could smell it all day! Only gripe I have is the steep price - $60 something CDN. But the thick formula means this jar will last forever - I've been using it for over a month now and I have on the smallest dip at the top (still not past the line where the screw top meets the jar body) so I'll probably repurchase eventually since it lasts so long. Highly highly HIGHLY recommend.

I love this product so much! It smells great and feels great. As soon as I put it on it makes my face look instantly more healthy. I love it because it is not a heavy moisturizer but it keeps my face feeling smooth and soft. Even my boyfriend comments that he loves the smell of it and that is saying something haha! The only downside is the price, so I only buy this when I have some extra cash or recieve it as a present, but its so worth it.

I LOVE this stuff.
Key points:
Smell: like lemon cookies, but not long lasting. I don't like the smell of lemon cookies and this wasn't strong enough to bother me.
Texture/Color: This has the look and texture of tub margerine..but room temp lol
Application: About a pea size will do for the whole face. I find that applied alone on a dry face makes it hard to spread. So I first spray some evian(which also adds moisture) then apply and it spreads nicely. Damp hands alone will also help.
Cost: Pricey for sure. $50....but happily so!

I have combo skin with typical oily Tzone and dry cheeks. I use this as a stand alone night moisturizer a couple of nights a week for deep hydration. I use it under makeup avoiding my nose. It does make a fabulous base for makeup if you are on the dry side or want an extra "glow". Last winter when my face was so dry it burned and peeled this healed it wonderfully without making me greasy or causing any stinging despite the fragrance. Also, this does not make me break out at all. I took risk with the shea butter, but so glad it worked for me. This will absolutely be a staple for me. 1 lippie off just because of the price and jar container. Would be better in a pump.

I absolutely love this product. At first I thought it was a little overrated, but then after I used it more and more I came to realize how great it really is. Like everyone has mentioned already, it has a kind of citrus lemony smell (actually smells like NYX round lipglosses or ELF mineral concealer). I'm not all that crazy about the smell, but its not unpleasant and it doesn't linger. I love applying this under my eyes prior to applying my concealer. It blends in my under eye skin like butter and instantly quenches my skin.. Making it the perfect canvas for my concealer. I love using this all over my face as well for a makeup base. It really makes my skin feel soft to the touch and it makes my foundation look even better. It is pretty expensive, but this is a product that I will continue to indulge in.
