This product came as part of the travel set. I found that in the morning, if I use this rather than wash my face with water, my skin stays calm yet still feels clean. It also helps exfoliate because I use a cotton round to apply it. It doesn't do anything fancy but I didn't expect it to. The price is reasonable so I would buy this again.

i'm scared of trying new products cause my skin, since turning 30, has been breaking out a lot. With a lot of nursing and gentle products, I've gotten my skin to calm and no real blemishes have surfaced for a year. So, after reading all the great reviews, I thought my skin can finally handle this, along with the Aubrey Organics Vegecol with Aloe & Oatmeal Soothing Mask. I used both products upon receiving them and the next day, my face broke out in little bumps. Naturally, i stopped using the products. two of the bumps turned into pimples, and one turned into a full cyst. That was a little over a week ago, the pimples have turned into scars but the cyst is still angry looking.
anyway- i started using the toner again, but not the mask. I don't know if the two combined were too much for my sensitive skin... but the toner alone is okay so far. like everyone says, it is like putting on water. I never used to use toner cause my oily skin would get dried out (in areas) fairly easily. This didn't dry my skin.
However, aside from the pimples/cyst situation, i probably still wouldn't purchase this toner again. Frankly, I don't know what the rave is about- cause this doesn't really do any of the things that a toner is suppose to do - it didn't shrink my pores, level my ph level, it didn't really refresh or clean my skin any more than water.

I'm not sure this toner actually does much, however, it is extremely gentle and my skin tolerates all of the ingredients. It also has a short, simple ingredient list. Everything in this toner is healthy for skin so it certainly can't hurt unless you're sensitive to something specific in the formula. I happen to be an aloe lover so I decided to try this out. I'm not sure I will repurchase.

This is the only toner I have used for about 5 years or so.. It is alcohol free, and all natural, free of chemicals. It is very gentle on the skin. I like it very much.

Great toner for sensitive skin. One of the few toners that doesn't leave a sticky feeling or have fragrance or other irritating ingredients. I don't use it every day, just when I feel like I might have left some cleanser residue on my face or I want that extra-fresh feeling. I'm giving it 4 stars just because it doesn't actually do much besides help remove cleanser residue or make the skin feel a little smoother, and if your skin is normal to oily you could probably get the same results with witch hazel. If you're looking for a toner with antioxidants or other beneficial ingredients, this isn't it. On a strict budget, I'd cut this out. As long as I can afford it, I'll buy it because I like the way my face feels after using it.

I purchased this item along with the Aubrey Organics Vegecol Moisturizing Cream from my last Vitacost.com order. I have been using it for over 2 weeks, and although some people might think this isn't sufficient time to try and truly be able to review the product, it's really quite simple in my case. Although I expect some cleansing products to break me out initially, this did not. I am very patient in dealing with periods of inital adjustment with new products; like I've mentioned on my review for Paula's Choice 2% BHA lotion, my skin will purge before it gets better. Luckily for me my skin has already completely cleared up so that might be why the product didn't break me out. Anyway...it has a very runny, watery look and texture to it, quite unlike any other toner i've used. This is probably because there isn't a whole lot to this toner; the ingredient list is: water, aloe, witch hazel, aubrey's vitamin blend, and lavender water. It sinks into my skin quicker than any toner i've tried, and leaves it comfortably moisturized: matte and smooth, not tight or dry. The only beef that I have with this product is the cap and the pop-open spout where the toner is poured from; it just doesn't seem to control the flow of the product as well as the design where you unscrew the cap and there being a small hole in the middle of the rubber base. Oh well...can't have it all. Love the product, already repurchased.

This is perfect for my oily, but sensitive skin. Does not have a lot of chemicals and it does a good job of keeping my face clear. Left my face soft and not dull-looking. Contains lavender oil, witch hazel, and aloe vera. If your face is dry, this might irritate your skin. I would try the rose masqueta line instead.

In Asian (at least Japanese) cultures, the main purpose of a toner is for moisturizing the skin instead of cleaning the skin. What these cultures recommend is to use a toner as a moisturizing agent and apply a lotion or cream to seam the moisture. And I think this is the reason why Asian women have less winkles compared to Caucasians because winkles are caused due to dehydration of the skin.
As I was grown up with theory, I was looking for a product that will hydrate my skin. I am Asian and has sensitive dry skin. I brought this product because it was alcohol free and for sensitive skin. Well, this product did not hydrate my skin at all. It dried my skin up. I guess I have to look for another toner...

Whenever there is a product with a high score, it doesn't seem to work for me. I bought this toner because of all the high ratings, but I must be allergic to some ingredient because it broke me out right away. I waited a week for the breakout to clear and tried again - same reaction.
I gave it 3 stars though because I have since given the toner to my mom and it makes her skin glow! So it just wasn't right for me, but seems to work for many others.

I just picked this up recently and I like it! It doesn't sting going on like most toners do. I haven't bought toner in a while because of it. But I realized I should get some more because my face wash isn't getting off ALL of my makeup. I am happy to have found Aubrey Organics. Thanks MUA.

I love this stuff! As at least one other person has said, it doesn't really feel like it's doing anything, but it has definitely improved my skin. I also use Aubrey Organics' Calaguala Skin Treatment Bar and love that too. (I would submit a review for the soap, except I don't know how to start up a new product review.)

I was skeptical when I first got this because of its strange brown tint and the fact that the top tended to leak when I shook it. Since it doesn't contain alcohol, it didn't feel like it was doing anything. BUT after using the entire bottle over the course of about 4 to 6 weeks twice daily, I was totally sold. I have had problem skin with mild to moderate acne since I was a teenager (I'm 26 now) and for once, my face was perfectly clear, smooth and glowy. It was incredible. I went a few weeks without buying another bottle because I wanted to try a homemade toner of lemon juice and witch hazel instead and my skin went right back to being kinda overall bumpy with pimples within a couple of weeks. Not only am I buying this product again, I'm picking up two bottles.

i've been using this product for about a month now.. and so far so good. this doesn't make your skin feel tight or dry. i have acne-prone skin and this does not appear to irritate it. my skin has actually been calming down since using this product, but i also have started using mario badescu acne products so i can't be sure which product is doing the most help.

This toner is definitely gentle and nonirritating, but it bothers me that it has a slight color to it -- hard to tell if it is just the toner or residual dirt on the cotton ball! Overall, I would agree that it's a good product for sensitive skin, but I'm not sure if it is worth the extra $ (Dickensons seems works just as well for me).

I love this stuff! Mostly because it doesn't have any alcohol, which always dry my face out. The Vegecol hasn't dried my face out at all (and i live in Chicago where a dry face is the norm) and sometimes I even forget to put on a moisturizer afterwards! It definitely removes dirt and grime. I'm unsure how well it removes make-up because I usually don't wear any. I don't think it has done anything to decrease the size of any of the blackheads around my nose, but I'm not overly concerned. I like the fell of it (no burning or tingling) and I like how it cleans, which is why I bought it in the first place.

I like this toner a lot. Very simple ingredient list but all are skin-beneficial. I tried to switch to all natural/organic skincare product and have tried several all natural toner so far. I like to read about skincare stuff, so I tend to switch to other products as any new products interest me. But so far I find this is best in terms of value and ingredients, and I am using my fourth bottle now. The lippy was taken off for the bad packaging. The toner requires shaking before apply, but the cap actually leaks while shaking! My solution is transferring the toner to a spray bottle. Spraying on the face actually is better for me. I can either wipe off with cotton pad or just pad dry a little bit using my hand before applying my lotion.

This is gorgeous and fresh. It cleans your face, without stripping it of its natural oils (thanks to its lack of alcohol). I am addicted!!

Absolutely my favourite toner :) I have dry skin that is prone to breakouts so I have a lot of difficulty finding skincare products that suit my skintype. I was quite apprehensive to purchase this product b/c it contains witch hazel, which I have found irritating/drying in the past. In addition, Paula Begoun strongly opposes many of A.O.'s products which made me even more sceptical. Regardless I purchased it anyways as I was desperate for toner. I was pleasantly surprised to discover how soothing and gentle this toner made my skin feel. No irritation, nor drying, etc...and to add to that it is very inexpensive
(around $12Cdn). Also has a pleasant, natural scent that is addictive:)

Used this on a trip for over a week and my skin did not break out from this at all. My skin is very moody and breaks out at the drop of a hat. When the SA told me that this toner was for sensitive skin and for skin that needed an exremely light moisturizer I was wary. I can say now that this toner is,possibly, perfect for my skin. Still though as a rule I give skin products two weeks to see how my skin reacts. It's possible that even though my skin was ok with this for a couple days that it might not be for a longer time period. Might use this again since I already have a moisturizer that I really like. EDIT 4/18/08 Still loving this. I use the Vegecol toner after washing my face with Aubrey's Herbal Cleanser since it leaves a slight film. Still no breakouts and my skin doesn't feel tight after using this. Will be great when the weather gets warmer.
NOTE:
I called Aubrey's to ask about the little black flakes/dots floating around in the toner. Was told that it's not mold, like I'd feared, but aloe leaf flakes. She said that the product must not have been strained. No big deal to me then.
