Did not irritate or break out my skin like some other scrubs can (mac's volcanic ash! Hiss, boo!).
My skin felt sufficiently "polished" after using this. I didnt notice any gross residue after wiping it off with a warm wet towel or just warm water.
It smells freaking a-mazing so that when Im not even using it and I spot it in my bathroom I will open it and take a whiff. I use a qtip to get it out of the pot. You could probably make a home made sugar scrub like this, but would it smell this good or feel this luxurious when you're using it? I would definitely repurchase.

Definitely not for me. I highly dislike the "masky" layer it leaves behind. It almost feels like I have a mask of vasline left behind on my skin after rinsing off. I'd rather DIY my own sugar + strawberry mask.

So it took me a while to figure out how to use this product properly ...apparent ally you apply it and leave it on for 10 n then rub n and rinse (i thought it was just a basic exfoliator not a mask ) I like this mask before a chemical peel because it removes the dead skin to allow the peel to penetrate . Nice texture n nice smell. The majorly of it is sugar n strawberry seeds .

A tough one to rate. I would give this a 4 for the product itself, but the 3 is for the price you have to pay.

Thinking back though, it is one of the best face scrubs I've tried. As you scrub, you immediately feel the brown sugar scrubbing away at the dirt and dead skin (even in the small crevices near your nose). As you continue to scrub & the sugar dissolves, you start to feel the softness of your skin. Once the sugar dissolves, I like to wait a few minutes before rinsing. Your face feels like a clean slate, ready for your skincare products. I love using this before a night out, I feel like it really preps my skin, providing a clean/smooth canvas for your makeup.

It's very gentle & has a wonderful sweet scent to it that makes you want to just eat it. The jar itself is really heavy & a bit of a hassle to have to unscrew the lid off & screw it back on. I also don't really like digging my finger into the scrub. Could use a spoon/spatula, but that's just more things to keep cluttered in my shower.

Due to the price, once I finished my jar, I tried to make my own basic brown sugar scrub with honey. It does the job of scrubbing & smoothing, but not to the level the Fresh version does. Someone out there has to have perfected a DIY version of this scrub, but I just haven't been too bothered to find it and try perfecting one for myself.

I admit, I love this product and I don't like to overspend on facial scrubs because I tend to either make my own scrubs using the same cheap brown sugar or buy a less expensive yet equally effective scrub at the drugstore. However, there is something squeaky clean about this face polish that I find my mind encumbered in thoughts of luxurious nurture. The exfoliating quality of the brown sugar is perfect enough to slough away a thin layer of dead skin cells. After a couple of minutes, the sugar melts on your skin as you exfoliate and even after plentiful splashes of water, your skin remains smooth. It feels like the kind of smoothness one has after rich body butter sinks in your skin and you run your fingers gently over it. The jar did make it tricky to prevent drops of water from coming in and dissolving the precious polish to nothing but a puddle of melted sugar. It didn't find it to brighten my skin significantly but it did improve the overall texture of my skin as well as lift a small layer of dead skin cells. The smell of the citrus and sugar is quite intoxicating and gives the overall exfoliating experience an immaculately clean feel.

I was hesitant to use this because it has oils in it and that was something new to me, but I got a sample at the fresh store and was shocked to have no reaction whatsoever (I have sensitive skin that freaks out at the most random natural products). I used it as she said, scrubbed gently for several minutes on damp skin and then let it sit for 10 minutes before washing it off. My only issue is with the packaging; while I love the jar (nicer than plastic), it's hard to make sure you add moisture to dampen your face without leaving any on your fingers to get into the jar, but you just need to get used to drying your hands well before starting.
I LOVE the way it makes my face feel! I even finish it with Decleor neroli oil and still don't get oily skin. I use this a couple of times a week and definitely see that my skin is overall brighter and clearer since adding this to my skincare routine. I will definitely buy again :)

I really wanted to hate this product because of the price but it is worth all the hype it gets. After the first use I instantly noticed a difference in my skin. My skin is very sensitive so I've always stayed away from masks but I have to use something to detox my skin and with this having so many great reviews, I figured this would be the best thing for me and it is. This scrub does the job but isn't harmful to sensitive skin. I get a little redness but the other scrubs I used that didn't give me redness also didn't do a good job. So using this once a week is good enough to not be too strong and I'd rather have to use it less than have to use it more often for it to do its job. Especially given how expensive it is. I cleanse my face, towel dry, apply the scrub in a upward motion, then let it sit for 10-15 minutes. Rinse really well then pat dry with a towel and I have nice and glowing skin.

I adore this product. I've used it for several years, now, and it works, and works well, without irritating or drying out my dry, sometimes fussy skin. Like most of the Fresh Sugar line, it's lemon-scented, but the scent here is light and generally dissipates quickly after rinsing the polish from my face.

Because it's a polish, rather than a traditional scrub, the grains are very fine. This translates to a gentle, subtle retexturizing effect for me, provided my face is just damp when I put it on; the slightly waxy moisturizing part of the action happens only if I leave it on for 5-10 minutes after applying.

It's gentle enough that I can use it several times per week, smells wonderful, and leaves my skin smooth, soft, and oh-so-subtly glowing. The standard-issue container lasts me about a year, making the price point a bit more tolerable. While I've yet to have a mishap, have a heavy glass jar in my shower does make me nervous and the death-grip I use to hold it during use is probably not particularly good for my hands.

Even with concerns about price and packaging, this is my desert-island facial product - if I could only have one thing to maintain my skin (after sunblock), I'd choose this.

Pros: lovely scent, gentle & effective exfoliation, retexturizes skin, lasts forever, leaves me glowing
Cons: price point, glass-tub packaging

Ok, I was really hesitant to spend $55 on an exfoliator (I was lucky enough to get a brand new tub in a swap), but it's so worth it.

I get really bad eczema and dry patches on my face at certain times of the year and I feel like I've tried everything. Exfoliators, expensive creams, nothing has worked. I end up with flaky skin or breakouts in the areas that I'm over-moisturizing. This is where the Sugar Face Polish comes in. I use it on bare, clean skin, let it sit on my face for about 5-10 minutes and wash it away. My skin feels so soft and smooth. At first I was scared that the moisturizing oils would break out my sometimes sensitive skin, but that hasn't happened. I use it about 2-4 times a week and my skin looks and feels amazing! No more dry patches! You use such a small amount that the 4.2nd jar will last you a really long time so that definitely helps with the price point. It gives a nice and soft exfoliation for the face and leaves skin moisturizer, not oily or greasy.

One of the best skincare products that I've ever tried, I highly recommend this and I would definitely repurchase!

My favourite exfoliator for my dry skin! I apply this on cleansed, dry skin and rinse it off with warm water. It makes my skin soooo smooth afterwards and the product smells beautiful! You only need a very small amount of product each time so the price isn't bad considering it'll last ages.

By far the BEST exfoliating scrub I've ever tried!!!

Smells amazing. Like sugared strawberries. I actually tasted it and sad to say the smell doesn't translate into your mouth. Anyway...

It gets rid of all (and I mean all) my white heads with ease and leaves my face moisturized. I don't need to moisturize after using this scrub. I am not that easily convinced but this is a keeper! The price is steep but in my opinion, worth it. Better than scrubbing endlessly with those other scrubs to get less than half the effect of this scrub!

Since everybody has already raved about this, I'm just going to add my 2 extra cents, which is that I use this mainly to exfoliate my lips, and I love it for that purpose a lot more than I like to use it on my face, though it is lovely on both. On my lips, I find myself using it a couple of times a week, and the effect is gorgeous (especially when applied without wetting the lips first). On my face, I find myself using it once every couple of months (because I have so many other go-to masks and exfoliants). The jar has lasted me ages. Like 3 years. And it's still good.

Hands down the best exfoliator that I have ever used. And there seems to be something in this stuff that actually lifts my spirits I can't explain it. I had to take a lippie off for price though OMG 55$ is just to much money, and the glass jar can so easily slip out of your hands and break. But yeah...I'd buy this again and I have several times.

This is an awesome product for us dry-skinned girls! I massage the scrub into lightly damp skin for good exfoliation, then I wet my fingers & massage again. The scrub dissolves and becomes almost like a paste/gel. I work that in and let it sit on my face for 10-15 minutes and then rinse. My skin feels clean & soft, not stripped or dry, and it glows. Be advised that this doesn't rinse completely clean - it leaves a light film of oil behind, so it probably would not be a good product for anyone with oily skin. For dry-skinned girls like myself who also need exfoliation, this scrub is amazing. Bit pricey and not a fan of the glass packaging - looks nice, but not practical for wet bathroom handling. Overall, I love this product and will repurchase.

I first try this during a facial session at Fresh, once she put it on my face, I just fell in love with its sugar lemon scent and texture. At the end of my facial session I know I must buy this scrub home. I normally use this on dry face and hand, and once i put it on my face I then add some water as needed. This will dissolve when mix with water, so better work with it when dry, otherwise you have nothing to scrub with. After I gently scrub my face with this, I usually leave it on for another 5-10 minutes, the SA told me so, then rinse. Afterward my face feel polish and smooth. It does seem to leave a thin film behind which I think its from the essential oil that the scrub is in, it doesn't bother me but you can always wash it off. I usually use it about twice a week. It's retail at $55 for 125g, so the price is quite high, although a little goes a long way, you don't need much each time. It does come in a glass jar, so it's quite heavy and will break if you drop them.
I will definitely re-purchase this item.

Just finished my first jar. I will probably purchase again (next fall), although I am not 100% sure about that. The cost is quite high. It's an indulgence, but not one I feel I can have regularly. I found this great to use in the winter. It simultaneously moisturizes and exfoliates.

I personally like the scent, it was always a real treat to use it. Using about 2x per week on average, it lasted 8 months or so.... You don't need very much. As someone else noted, for exfoliation I also apply to dry skin. This may be too harsh for some. Initially I tried to dampen my skin first, but then I didn't really get any exfoliation. It is packaged in a glass jar. The jar is elegant, but heavy, and for the shower a tube is easier.

Overall, if money is no object or you really have to have something natural this is worth trying. In my opinion there are probably more inexpensive scrubs that are equally good exfoliants. Although I must say it really did polish my skin and help keep away the dry flakes from harsh winter weather .

I refrained from buying this for ages because of the price, not realizing how long-lasting the large jar is: I've used half in maybe 6 months of semi-regular use. Smells divine, is a nice, gritty scrub on towel-dried, cleansed skin, but also is quite moisturizing. It contains meadowfoam seed oil, among others, and leaves a light residue when rinsed off. As others have noted, as sugar dissolves, you can adjust the strength of exfoliation by using on damper skin. Since it is a water-free formula, it has a long shelf-life--it hasn't gone rancid on me. It leaves my skin with a pink, healthy glow.

LOVE. I've tried so many other cleansers, exfoliators, etc., but my skin has looked dull for quite a while.

Finally, I asked a colleague what she uses since her skin looks amazing, and she said Fresh products. I went out and bought this scrub, and after just one use, my face was soft and glowy and smoother than its been all year.

Yes, it's expensive, but it's still way cheaper than getting a facial once a month. Well worth the splurge, and I love the scent.

Like with all their skincare, there is something off smelling about this, especially the after-film it leaves, similar to car grease. I am uncertain as to what makes them command the high price but the philosophy sugar scrub and the sukin exfoliate foaming facial cleansers do a better job, are just as dense exfoliators at a fraction of the price. The thing I did not like about this was that it leaves behind a greasy film and you have to wash it off with a strong cleanser. Not recommended for oily skin. If you have not used sugar scrubs before, this may be a bit too harsh for you. This is 3x the price of my fave exfoliator but does a lesser job. I am well and truly done with this brand, premium price for ho-hum performance. I think Caudalie, Nuxe and Loccitane are all better natural brands with a bit more experience under their belt.
