I love this color but have to agree with the other reviewer who said it makes her look like she's dead or has hypothermia. It's just too dark on me. My problem with longwear is most of the colors are really dark, and it's really drying, but unfortunately there's nothing I've tried that wears better. I own about 8 colors, and only one SA told me to STRETCH your lips when you apply it (cracks) and DON'T purse them together (wears off in the middle). Others I've tried: Lorac co-stars (fave for soft colors but only half day wear), EL Doublewear (softer colors but limited selection, not quite as long lasting, wears off strangely), and Maybelline Superstay (half the price, variety of softer colors, but it doesn't make it through lunch). I didn't care for Revlon Colorstay (dark colors) or CG outlast (two separate products just annoy me, dark colors).

It's too dark for my pale skin tone, and a bit drying. The color will fade from the center, to the point that only the edge of my lips would have color left!

Although I love the longwear line, I'm still on the fence about this color. I love darker, purply, shimmery colors; and I expected to love this one. The color just seems to be a little too dark. And when it starts to wear off or the gloss comes off it looks like I'm dead or have hypothermia. Maybe it would look better if it had more pink or red undertones? I tried putting the very thinnest layer on, but it went on envenly and looked strange, so i'm still experimenting. I can see how this would look lovely on some one with dark skin (mine is med). Or if you're going for the gothic look, try this.

I'm seriously lovin this product. I've always hated wearing anything on my lips because Ihate the constant reapplying 24/7 that goes with it. i was searching for something that was good for everyday and doesn't rub off so badly on my boyfriend lol. The mac pro longwear line is a godsend in that aspect! I'm a dark skinned DDD and thought immovable would be too light for me but when the MA tried it on me i was in love! She tried it on with chestnut lip liner which wasn't bad but I like to wear it with my Nars Times Square lip liner. On me it comes out as a plum lip color with cool toned shimmer. Love it for my pinky/purplely m/u days. I like how you can control how much you put on and the staying power is definitely out of this world! All i have to do during the day is touch up on the liner and gloss and that's it.

Mac Pro Longwear Lipcolour is, in a word, amazing. However, it is not without its' faults - price, texture - but generally, this is a fantastic product that actually does live up to its promises, which is so rare these days! Lipcolour commitment-phobes might not enjoy this lipcolour so much because of its tenacious wear. Personally, I've always been one to enjoy touching up or completely changing my lipstick/gloss throughout the day. Thus, I do have mixed feelings about the MAC Pro Longwear Lipcolour. Like many of the other reviewers have mentioned, this really really really does last a long time! Which is good, right?
Right. Until you decide you want it off. Then you've got problems. I find the only thing to make this lipcolour budge is Lancôme Bi-Facil Eye Makeup Remover, but probably any oil solvent will do! Slightly off-topic: I had never used Bi-Facil on my lips before and whoooaaah! Revelation. It makes your lips sooo soft.
Ok, back to the Pro Longwear. I think the key to success with this lipcolour is right here in these four precise steps:
(1.) Be very very careful when applying Pro Longwear. Remember, where you put it, it will stay, possibly for days. One false move outside the lipline and you look pretty dumb. If possible, use a lipbrush instead of the spongey applicator it comes with (like the MAC 316 - it's very precise). Do not apply during earthquakes.
(2.) For heavens' sake, be very sparing with the Pro Longwear Lipcolour! You only need a very thin coat to get a nice colour. Too much product and your lips will look ridiculous and will likely be unevenly stained. You do not want this. Trust me.
(3.) Although you will not need the actual Pro Longwear Lipcolour throughout the day, keep the double-end wand on hand because you will need to touch up the gloss coat pretty regularly.
(4.) Also (and this hasn't happened to me yet but it will) be prepared to spend FOURTEEN DOLLARS (Canadian - I imagine you American girls will spend ELEVEN DOLLARS) for a new gloss coat (or, for the more adventurous of us out there, a crystalizer or pearlizer). If you do end up learning to appreciate the beauty of Pro Longwear Lipcolour, there's no doubt you will go through the gloss a million times as fast as the colour. I asked the MAC MA whether I could use another (read: cheaper) gloss over it instead and she narrowed her perfectly made-up eyes at me and made me feel about two and a half feet tall. I imagine that meant "no".
Ok, now for the totally unbiased bashing: the one thing I hate about this lipcolour is the feeling your lips have after the gloss has worn off, all dry and disgusting. Oddly, if you look in the mirror at this point, you'll be shocked to see how gorgeous your lips still are (albeit more matte, less glossy) but the feeling is just something I will not get used to. Hence, I must keep the gloss on hand at all times.Another not-so-great aspect: the sheer rip-offedness of it all. HELLO? The lipcolour/gloss combo is $23.50 (CDN), and the gloss by itself is $14?! Does that mean the lipcolour itself is really worth much less than the gloss ($9.50)? That seems unbelievable. It makes me angry! Almost angry enough not to use this product...But not quite because damn! I do so love it, now that I know how to use it. I have the colour "Immovable", which is described as "a rock-steady metallic dirty plum (frost)". It's just perfect on me. It's been said before but the staying power is just unf*ckingbelievable. This would be the perfect lipcolour for a wedding or event where you have to give speeches and eat food and drink heavily and look fantastic but don't necessarily get a moment to make sure your lipcolour is still on your lips. With this one, even though sometimes the lips will feel a little dry and uncomfortable, you can be sure that you'll still look fabulous.

Immovable is a beautiful deep plum with shimmer. Not a color I normally would wear b/c I usually stick to nudes. I just couldn't resist while at the MAC counter. This is an amazing color that I can see looking great on almost everyone.
I applied this morning and then went and ate a greasy, Burger King biscuit and it didn't budge. Now its been on for 6 hours, lasted through an equally greasy lunch, without touching up anything but the gloss. My lips aren't dried out like GC and MF's long lasting lippies do to me.
Pretty impressed. I'll be checking the other colors out next trip to MAC.
