I don't know why I shy away from dark berry/plummy blushes from NARS. I guess it is because previous berry shades and plum shades make me look old (well in my opinion it does). On my cool skintone (MAC equivalent of NW45 or greater) it looks like a pretty berry color but it looks pretty and dare I say age appropriate. I guess it is all about application. On my very oily skin, it didn't slip and slide all over the place like I thought it would. In fact, the cream changes into a powdery texture when applied on the skin so you have to work somewhat fast. I will rock this when fall comes around. I will purchase this again and explore more shades of NARS cream blushes.

I really wanted a cream blush as I've heard that it gives you the most real and natural looking blush. So I decided to get NARS. The pigmentation of this blush is very strong so you only need a little. The colour is beautiful and it really does look like a natural blush and not makeup. The only downside is that it does not stay on very long.

This creme blush is a dark burgundy/wine color in the pan, but when applied with a light hand or with the mac 187 brush it goes on like a natural berry flush. i have fair-med skin, with yellow undertones. (BE fairly light for reference) i love that it is unscented, i have had no breakouts with this product. when you look closely at the pan it appears to have fine sparkles but when applied to my skin i do not notice any. i think this is going to last me a long time, since it is so pigmented and a little goes a long way.

This is a gorgeous shade that just doesnt flatter me. It would be beautiful on the right person and I'm not going to give it a lesser rating just because I picked the wrong color. Same NARS quality, texture and pigmentation that I have come to expect.

It IS a really pretty color! I admit to being a little scared when I first got it. But it goes on smooth and doesn't irritate my skin at all. You can layer the color to make it deeper too. It's worth the $$... I use it to cut down some of my more diffucult (and muddy) eyeshadows as well. If NARS Mekong eyeshadow is too muddy... consider layering this directly on the lid first, before applying the shadow.

Everyone is too scared to put it on. Its color looks scary in pan, but very wearable on my cheek. It does give me the best natural flush. none can compete. one more thing is it gives me a natural sun-kissed look (maybe due to its undertone of brownish mahogany) I look like i just came back from the beach. A+

the downside is for me the staying power is not there.
packaging is just like other NARS-- become sticky/ greasy after several uses.

This is a beautiful, sheer plum/raspberry shade which is slightly muted with brown. While it looks deep, bright and unwearable in the pan, on the skin if applied correctly, it transforms into a natural, rosy flush- a previous reviewer had it right when they likened it to the rosy flushed cheeks of jcrew models.

my favorite nars cream blush shade to date!

I was really worried getting this. I exchanged Penny Lane, a nice, light, pinky brown which unfortunately was kinda orange on me and couldn't find another neutral one that worked. So I got the Montenegro. I am fair, blue eyed and gray haired and this seemed really dark but applied lightly, looks great! Natural actually. Just sort of rosey and outdoorsey but with a slightly heavier application, great for evening. The cream blushes tend to drag a little but if applied over the top layer of moisturizer, foundation, sunscreen, whatever while it is still a little moist they go on very smoothly. My other favorite is Cactus Flower. Update 1/20/08: I reluctantly returned this last week. Still looked great when applied but I was looking later & noticed the color looked a little rusty. Tried it on my wrist and sure enough, in about 15 minutes it had turned more orange. Very disappointing. Thank God, it hasn't happened with Cactus Flower.

I find that when I have this on, I feel like a J Crew catalog model. It gives a lovely flush to my NC35 Asian coloring. Gives a summer resort look with mussy hair. Need nothing but a berry lip gloss.

When I purchased this blush, I was a bit apprehensive, to say the least. I did not know how the darker color would look on my LLL olive/yellow skin, but I assumed it would give me a natural colored flush. I was not disappointed. It was as beautiful on my cheeks as it was in the pan. It gave me a flush that I would get if I were sitting in the heat or the sun for too long, at the first time I tried it, I knew it was love. I took one lippie off because the texture makes the blush hard to apply a small amount, but Montenegro looks gorgeous nonetheless. Worth every penny. For reference, my skin type is oily and acne-prone. My haircolor is a light brown with golden brown highlights. My eyecolor is green.

Nice on darker skin (NW45)...this is a browned berry colour. It blends very nicely and the compact it comes in is great. I probably would not buy it again only because I like brighter colours.

I am black with NC50 (?) skin so this product is perfect and definitely NOT too dark for me. Leaves a nice berry-ish contour. :) I would definitely buy it again (with a gift certificate ;o)).

This blush looked beautiful on my olive skin. Its a berry red and if you apply a little bit, you will get a perfect berry flush. The texture of NARS creme blush is amazing and this blush is easy to blend.

This is a dark berry that goes on a bit brighter, but not only do I find it hard to blend with a definate drag to it, but it seems to accentuate any freckles of ages spots I have! This is definately not a good thing on my 42 year old face. Also, I have oily skin, and nothing drags on me! I will stick to I do think the Nars Lockhum is OK, but for a good natural flush I'll stick to the Sue Devitt Rana (the only Sue Devitt I could honestly rec) and the Smashbox sticks which you can even apply over powder and blend like a charm!

This is such a beautiful color. But it's truly not every day. Just for going out at night. A date type of blush. It looks beautiful-just be careful when applying it because it's rather dark, even on my very tan asian skin. I'm "mountain" in the Nars powders. But I think if applied right this blush is beautiful! I said that I would buy this again-but seeing that I only need to dab a little on-I don't think I could ever use it all up.

Such a gorgeous berry-red in the pan, I couldn't resist. On my NC20 skin, this is a bit much - dark red/purplish undertones - as much as I enjoy making an entrance, this blush lends credence to the idea that one should never be complemented on the makeup alone. Beautiful texture however. This color would look marvelous with a tan - bottled or not.

I was afraid to order this, thinking the texture might be hard and dry like the Sumatra Multiple. It is not, nor does the color have as much violet as I thought it was going to. It is a lovely berry rose color which creates the look of a natural flush on my NC35 skin. This one has no shimmer but it looks lovely topped with the Maldives multiple. I think this is my fav. so far of all the NARS cream blushes. I took off one lipstick because I find NARS cream blushes do not last very long on me unless I top them with powder blush.
