I come to MUA all the time to read reviews, but never leave any myself. I was recommended this product after asking for something to help with the redness/scarring present on my chin from pimples there that I've been unable to get rid of. The acne doesn't bother me as much as the scarring does. I was a bit hesitant to purchase this after seeing the price (!!!), but I opened the box and saw how big the tube was. The girl at Ulta also told me it would last awhile, and that she had good results using it for the same reason. Anyway, this stuff is great! I noticed an immediate difference in the redness on my chin from past pimples! I am still working on getting rid of all the acne, which means some bumps are still present, so I cannot tell if it is helping relieve the slight cratering left in that area as well. I think it has been. I have been using this on new red marks left from pimples, and can see them lightening within a day or two. I also use this on my under eye area before applying my eye cream. I can't say for sure if it's doing much there, but a little extra retinol never hurt anybody. This product it is definitely helping my redness/scarring which is what I bought it for. I am very pleased with my results. Will recommend and re-buy!

I have only been using this product for the past 5 nights but I think I am falling in love with it. I am 27 so don't have any real wrinkles but I DID have some very fine lines on my forehead which now have practically disappeared. I have very dry skin which is prone to flaking in Winter time if I don't puts heaps and heaps of moisturizer on so I was a little dubious about using a retinol product, but I can safely say that my skin, in just a WEEK, is so much better and smoother, no flaking whatsoever! I do however have some acne scarring on my chin and I haven't noticed a difference with them yet but they are probably deep and will take longer to clear. I also do get hormonal breakouts every month so it will be interesting to see if this product helps with that but I will have to wait and see - I will update in a few weeks but right now I would say this products is EXCELLENT especially if you are after that smooth, plumped up, glowing looking skin...and who isn't!!

This product saved my skin. After years of having clear skin I started breaking out on my forehead and cheeks at age 38. I tried different moisturizers and stopped using hair styling products, thinking I was having a reaction to them, but nothing worked. Help Me completely cleared up my skin after about 2 weeks of using it, and a year later my skin looks better than it has in years. I use this with Hope in a Jar SPF during the day and non SPF at night.

i got Help Me to replace "On a Clear Day retinol lotion" because they discontinued it :( Help Me is a little stronger & you use it at night instead of in the daytime. it work great as long as you remember to use a moisturizer afterwards, i use hope in a jar. i have acne & this really does help keep control of it! i have been using it 2 days on & 1 day off before bed for 4-5 months & it really has helped me :)

I have dry, sensitive, breakout prone skin. This is fragrance free so does not bother my sinuses or skin. This helps my 'fisherman's face' : I have pale, couperose skin, with whiteheads and acne. So it definitely helps dry up whiteheads, lessen breakouts, and fades my pinkish brown melasma. It is drying so I put my Cerave lotion on first, wait 20 to 30 minutes and then put it on. I use 1-2 x a week. Will always repurchase.

I have sensitive/combination skin, and I was looking for a miracle after experiencing my first intense breakout in months if not years. I've been using a pea-size amount on my face for approximately three weeks every night, and I have noticed that my skin is significantly clearer/brighter without any retinol-induced irritation. I am usually pretty sensitive to harsher products and was apprehensive of a break-out/rash, but I've only seen improvements. I highly recommend Help Me for others with sensitive skin. For those who are not seeing results, I would recommend exfoliating and toning before using this to give it a little boost.


EDIT 1/7/13: Still awesome, but purchase this on Amazon! It's much cheaper than at Sephora/Ulta.

EDIT 2/27/13: My first tube lasted me for 3+ months of generous, daily use!!

This stuff is so expensive, it's $60 in Canada. Ouch. But a little goes a long way. when I put this on before bed I wake up with nice skin. It's not working miracles, but I really do see a difference in my skin when I use it.

This is a great product!! Usually retinol products irritate my face badly but this did not AT ALL. I use this only at night and I was my face with purity, use Origins Perfect World Serum, then this Help Me lotion and then I finish with Bobbi Brown's Intense hydrating night cream....face has looked great and I haven't had any breakouts while using this combination. Highly recommend for those in the 30's that are looking for a product with retinol in it that doesn't irritate your skin and the price is great...a little bit (less than a pea size) covers my entire face.

I keep buying this when I run out, which says a lot. The packaging doesn't thrill me because the tube looks sort of sad and used-up after the first couple of uses, which is tragic if you like to play with your products and line them all up to admire them.

I noticed that my lines and red splotches were really helped by this when I first started using it. Now I don't know if I'm really seeing any difference, but my fine lines and splotches aren't getting worse and I've been going through the sort of surprising early 30s aging that reminds you that 25 is long gone, so it has to be working.

Very disappointing :-( At NZ $92 for the teeny tiny tube which resembles a travel-sized toothpaste, I was expecting a miracle; however, after six weeks of continual use I have not seen any benefits whatsoever (despite taking photographs and comparing them). The good thing about this product is that a very small amount (pea size) goes a very long way.

All in all this is a good product if you use it every night. I have used it now for 6 weeks and noticed a great improvement in overall clarity and beauty of my skin.

With that being said, it took about 2 weeks for my skin to not sting when using this. Also, make sure NOT to get it in the eye area - it is really inflammatory.

Having used this every evening for the past 13 months, I have noticed huge improvements in terms of pigmentation and size of my face pores.
I absolutely love this product - Its highly absorbent, the smell is ok and it does not leave a burning sensation like other retinol creams.
I use this on top of Estee Lauder's Advanced Night Repair Serum and the combination has transformed my face from oily-acne-disaster into a beautiful and smooth young woman's face.
I do not have wrinkles so I cannot comment on the effect on wrinkles, but I had acne and high pigmentation and I swear by this product.

I have been using philosophy help me on and off for about a year now. I first got it at sephora along with the purity cleanser and the hope in a jar moisturizer. When I first started using it, it gave me AMAZING results. I used it after cleansing my skin and before moisturizer.

The retinol in this product helped with my existing acne scars, it prevented break-outs and definitely smoothed out my skin's texture. My skin truly looked amazing, clear and very even-toned. It also helps in shrinking your pores.

I think this is a gentler retinol product than for example dr. brandt's overnight resurfacing serum. However, after about six months, I felt like this product stopped working. Perhaps my skin got used to it, I'm not really sure what happened.

I decided to use this for at least six weeks before reviewing it. The verdict is in and it really is a wonderful product. It shrunk my pores, banished my red patches and acne, reduces the appearance of fine lines and gave my skin back it's healthy, even glow! I can't say enough about this product and I will always repurchase it. I love the packaging and the fact that you can get out every last drop of the product. I wish it were a little less expensive but, a little goes a long way and I can see this lasting for probably about 4-6 months... I have used it daily for six weeks and have probably used less than 1/4 of the tube, so the cost per use isn't really high. if you haven't tried this, you should!

Can't believe I'm just now reviewing this, thought I did a long time ago. I've been using for about a year now and let me say this...this is the absolute best thing I've ever done for my face. I'm a skin care junkie, love trying new things and hardly ever repurchase b/c there's just so many fun options out there but this little gem I've bought 3 times now. I use it after I wash my face and if I want particularly glowing skin use after exfoliating. Seems to work best at night, when I wake up in the morning my skin is super soft, pores shrunk, no blemishes...I could go on. Do your face a favor and try at least a sample. Price is kinda steep but for me totally worth it.

I have been using help me for almost a year now. I notice an improvement in my skin texture and pore size when I use this nightly but have not really noticed an improvement on the fine lines i am starting to get on my forehead. When I first started it did have a drying effect so now I just mix some moisturizer in with it or use it every other night. Overall a decent OTC retinol product but I am on the lookout for something that is more effective on my fine lines.

This is the best retinol/ anti wrinkle/ wrinkle remover cream I have used. I worked at Sephora and have tried just about everything. Most products are too drying and seem to enhance the wrinkles prior to peeling the skin. I've also been through the whole olay line including the rx and the neutrogena line and Roc. Nothing worked like this or was a simple to use. I'm 29 and it's taken 5 years off my face. The most effected areas are laugh lines, eyes and the line I get between my brow from working in front of a pc all day. I'm amazed and think I'll never do without it.

I used a whole tube of this stuff, and I didn't notice any difference at all. Was pretty bummed out because it seemed make some interesting claims on the packaging. Perhaps this might do more for more mature skin since retinol is suppssed to do wonders for wrinkles.

This was recommended to me by another shopper in the store.. The woman suggested using just a small amount of the "help me" with a moisturizer (like a moisture cocktail), she liked the Philosophy "hope in a jar", I used Perricone moisturizer.. I have been using "help me" and "Perricone" for 4 days and nights (yes 2x daily) and I am experiencing slight extra dryness, but no irritation.. I cannot comment on any changes other than no breakouts and no excess redness.. I will give this another 2 weeks and see how it goes.. I will breakout within 1 to 2 days of using a product, have not with this so I am still keeping my fingers crossed that my skin likes this and improves..
