Can I just say that this is my favourite beauty product of all time?? It is amazing how it moisturizes my lips. I have very dry lips and once I use this (mostly at night) I wake up with amazing lips. They are moisturized, they feel baby smooth and they look plumper. This is the only lip balm that seems to soak into my lips rather than sit on the surface. I definitely recommend it.

I use this every morning and night. So far have only tried this and banana boat's. It is definitely more moisturising than the other. Would buy again.

By far the most moisturizing lip balm I have EVER used! I have the "Norwegian Formula" one with the red stripe and it came free with a Neutrogena face sunblock. The spf 15 is great too! I highly, highly recommend it! :)

Something was drying the hell out of my lips and all i ever use on my lips is either this or regular chapstick so i swatched this and my chapstick on my finger tips and lo and behold. The finger with the with the neutrogena was rough and peeling after 30 mins. This disgusts me.

Is it pretty? Smell delicious? No. Is it practical? - hell yes! My lips recently went through a odd dry/irritated phase. Some suggested maybe they were sunburned, so I tried to find a balm with SPF. The first two I tried burned my lips (full on stinging pain and inflammation-Blistex...stay away). Then I went old school and picked this one up (& it is always hard to find because stores keep it with the Neutrogena main line instead of with all the other balms). No irritation, nice soft lips, SPF 15, and goes well under other lip products. *Ahhhhh* - you here that? It's my lips they are happy.

UPDATE 7/28/11 - My lips are still hypersensitive, but this lip balm soothes them. I even tried all natural balms like Badger balms w/out SPF and they freaked out my lips...this is heaven.

FYI-This did not heal my issue, but it helped get them through it. I turned to Aquaphor Lip Treatment to help with the healing part. But now I keep the Neutrogena balm with me when I leave the house and have sun exposure.

My mom always had this around when I was little so I'm surprised they still sell it in the same packaging and everything. Its very moisturizing but doesn't sink in. Bad taste and I don't love the way the stick can come all the way out. Its worth trying if you really need a lip balm but I'd keep looking.

This is a very good lip balm for people who live in cold climates. It is the most heavy duty lip balm I have ever tried, and I've tried everything on the shelf. I don't own one at the moment, but I can do this review from sheer memory.

I don't know what they put in this balm that gives it such a rich formulation, but I've always imagined (in my head) that there is some seal blubber in it. Sounds gross, but the sense I get is a dense amount of wax/fat in this product, which is probably why it works brilliantly to protect your delicate lips from extreme cold weather.

This product is not an everyday balm for me. I've actually never repurchased it since I've moved to a warmer province in Canada; however, I know for certain that this is easily a staple for people who do need intense protection. As an everyday product, this balm would be too waxy for me. It sat on my lips and didn't soak in. Like I said, it would be fine for people who need that extra layer of long-wearing protection, but it would not be comfortable to wear on a normal day to day basis in moderate climates.

Great lip balm! Haven't found anything better, so i guess this is my HG. Used lipsmackers before this and this works better. When i use it i can actually feel it softening the chaps in my lips after a few minutes. I use this on its own for natural satiny soft looking lips, or under lipstick to keep my lips moisturized and for even application. Great texture; satin-y and not oily, the SPF is a definite plus too.

In general, I'm not a fan of Neutrogena products, and this is no exception. Its' peice-ey texture unevenly coats the lips and is not nearly as smooth and moisturizing as say, chapstick, and one must apply around 3 layers to get any smoothing effects or moisture from this product whatsoever. Also, the smell of this product is unbearable; it smells so heavily of castor oil! Additionally, the wear is horrible- this balm lasts for two hours tops whereas other balms tend to last for at least four. Finally, it costs far too much to be doing so little and I've sound cheaper lip balms of much better quality that give more nourishment to the lips, such as the aforementioned chapstick and Burt's Bees lip balm in a tin. I may tread on till the tube is finished but won't be going near this product ever again.

A good basic lip balm with SPF20. It goes on lightly and with no discernible taste. I actually like the faint smell it has which is not strong or overly perfumed as some other balms are. It's a standard workhouse balm that I think goes well under lipstick or by itself. Good for the summer and the winter.
The top two ingredients are castor oil and paraffin.
UPDATE: HG because it moisturizes, goes on lightly and is a great base for lipsticks and gloss. But please note, the European formulation is not the same as the North American one! My review is for the former which has the castor oil as the top ingredient. I think this will be the only lip balm I will ever completely use up. Love it.

I believe I've found my HG daily lip balm. Moisturizing, lightweight, has SPF 15, and most importantly NO flavor whatsoever. So many SPF balms I've bought in the past have been super bitter and chemically-tasting. I love that it's so cheap and widely available. Nice looking, simple packaging too.

Possibly the perfect lip balm? Delivers the perfect amount of moisture. Not too greasy. Excellent for under lipsticks. Great on its own. So affordable.
My only gripe is that it can be hard to find! I used to get it at CVS, but then couldn't find it there for a while. I actually saw it in the impulse buy checkout bin at Nordstrom Rack recently and snatched up two tubes. Love it.

I got this lip balm as a bonus when I bought some Neutrogena sunscreen. I really liked this lip balm. I lost it for awhile. Turns out it was in a blazer pocket. So happy when I found it again because it was great under lipsticks and really moisturized my lips!

HOWEVER, I took it out to use today...and it had mold growing on it. Lots and lots of black mold. The cap was capped all the way so I can't explain what happened. It was in a blazer pocket no where near water or anything. I've never had this happen before. Maybe this is a positive that there are no preservatives in this, but its too gross. It really has turned me off to this product.

My only idea about this is that maybe the cap is not really that great even though it was capped on the way. So I will not be repurchasing this product.

Wow, I really like this lip balm. I actually got it for free with some Neutrogena sunscreen- otherwise I probably would not have bought it.

This is probably the best lip balm with SPF I've ever used- maybe one of the best balms in general! I recently got a Chapstick brand lip balm with SPF and the consistency is just...weird. The feeling and taste is unpleasant, and it makes my lips chapped just from me rubbing my lips together constantly. However, the Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Lip Moisturizer feels like regular lip balm- no real fragrance or flavor. Very light- perfect amount of slip and waxiness. I put it on and can just kind of forget about it. I shouldn't be surprised- everyone in my family has sworn by the Norwegian Formula hand creme for DECADES.

Plus, the container is kind of cool looking :-)

PROS: SPF No irritating scent. (Seems to be almost fragrance free.) Stays on well for a balm.

CONS: The only con I could find is the cap is very slick and sometimes hard to get a grasp on.

ALTERNATES: Lypsyl has a wonderful spf lip balm. When I don't need spf, I love Neosporin Overnight lip treatment. It lasts on me all night.

*******There is another review for this under the heading Neutrogena and the name "Norwegian Formula Lip Moisturizer SPF15" that has a few reviews, but this one has a lot more.********

This chapstick has become a part of my daily routine now. It doesn't feel waxy or greasy, and it makes my lips smooth as soon as I apply. This lasts a lot longer than any of my other lip balms or glosses from other brands, so I don't have to reapply as often as I used to. I have very chapped lips, but with this moisturizer they feel amazing.
