I really like this product

I use it on a daily basis and even though it's quite a dark blush, it still looks good on a medium skin tone, like mine.

This is a very nice colour and it gives of a healthy shine.

I would reccomend it to people in summer and people who have medium skin tone

I can't tell you how long ago I first purchased this blush. It's a mainstay. Why? Because it really pops on my skin, particularly when I am more tanned like in summer and Fall.

It's a plummy blush with a touch of pink and a touch of shimmer. To me, it appears a slight bit more shimmery in the pan than on my skin (NC40/42). I do think this color works best on tawny, tan, and dark skin tones, and I am probably a little to fair for it when I hit the true NC40 shade. It looks best on me when I have a real tan and hit NC44 (which is rarer these days than in the past).

This is an office and evening blush. It can do dual duty, and is feminine. However, fads change over the years, and plum/pink blushes do not appear as "in" this year as when I first purchased this. I use it with neutral eye maekup and clothing, with black clothes, and for classic beauty styles. It is probably too heavy to pair with a smoky eye look.

Finish/texture: Plum-Foolery goes on the skin like a normal MAC blush. However, it is quite pigmented so begin with a light hand and build. It is slightly shimmery. The finish is more than a shine but still wearable in an office. It looks best at night.

Staying Power: I would say it begins fading after 6 hours of use (with primer).

Overall impression: Even as I begin to see signs of aging that include enlarged pores and dark spots, this blush works better than most on me. There will come a day when I will no longer be able to wear it as I tend to be getting paler over the years. But for now, I am enjoying it as much now as when I first purchased it ages ago.

I am VERY pale, with just a little bit of freckles on my cheeks, blue eyes and dark brown hair. I wanted a blush for winter, and this is PERFECT. It doesn't not look purple or muddy at all on my skin. It is a beautiful wintery-pink when used with a light hand. It is very pigmented, so it is necessary to use a light hand and blend out if needed. I would definitely buy this over and over again, and I suggest it to anyone who is willing to try it!

I somehow can’t fully bring myself to coming on here and saying how bad this is since I did enjoy this for the most part for like 2+ years so I don’t think It’d be fair to say it’s horrible but I can say I’ve found way better. I don’t think the color exactly suits me and it’s too powder for my liking. I like more of a natural looking blush and this is for a darker more dramatic look. My mother and grandma who have tried MAC blushes aren’t happy with their purchase. They both think it’s too powdery and overpriced for what it actually is. My mother loves her Chanel blush which I think is amazing..I know because (ssh) I’ve tried it and loved it.

I would buy it again and have. I have Nars blushes, Cargo, many Mac blushes and Bobbi Brown and Iman I have hit the pan with this before. Now I am using more my Iman bronzer trio, as I have been into peaches lately but it's so pretty on tan skin, a nice flush. I am Mac Nc40-42 MUFE 140 or Bobbi Brown 4.5 for reference.

I bought this blush yesterday at the Nordstrom in Downtown and it was my first ever MAC purchase. :)
About a year and a half ago I was just browsing around Macy's and had a makeup artist at the Chanel counter ask me if she could try a little something new with my makeup. I don't know if my makeup looked crappy, if I looked like I needed a boost, whatever - but she sat me down and talked with me for a bit while applying the most beautiful blush I had ever seen on myself which I came to find out was Chanel's Plum Attraction. The effect was captivating! I had never seen anything quite like that blush on my face... it looked absolutely stunning. It brought out the best in my fair skin, espresso black hair and grey-green eyes. I didn't buy it because I didn't have a job at the time and anything over $9 on a drugstore blush seemed like a robbery to me. But the minute I left the department store I kept getting stopped and stared at by men and women.
I was on the hunt for a fall/winter blush because I didn't own one. My skin tone is very fair and I already have a little natural pigmentation in my cheeks - hence why a lot of blushes don't work for me. It can be difficult to find a blush that doesn't make me look like I got slapped in the face or something. I was at Sephora and the m.a kept steering me towards Nars blushes even though I was never that attracted to the brand (yes, I said it). After some sales pitching and convincing on her part I bought Nars Amour which I was very "eh" about from the get go. I tried it on only twice at home and something just didn't look "right" about it. I had already made up my mind to return it and return it I did... but I had to make two separate trips back to Sephora to make it happen. To say the least, Nars Amour was a pain in the a** to get rid of but I did receive a full refund in the end. (Sorry that part was so long I just wanted to vent my grievances about my quest to find the perfect fall blush lol.)
I walked over to Nordstrom and instinctively headed straight to the MAC counter. I had to wait for a while but I had a very nice m.a ask me what I was looking for and she only smiled, walked away for a little, came back and said "We only have one of these left in stock..."
I fell in love with MAC Plum Foolery from the minute I laid eyes on it. This was IT. It was "the one", I knew it right away. The m.a first applied some bronzer to contour my cheekbones and then applied the blush on top and the effect was STUNNING --- eerily similar to the Chanel Plum Attraction. I also subconsciously was thinking this blush would be perfect for holiday festivities such as Halloween and Christmas but I don't think it will turn into one of those makeup items limited to special occasions due to impracticality. I was also pleasantly surprised that the total was $21 as opposed to the ridiculous $30 I spent on the Nars Amour.
I really like the MAC packaging and after this purchase would be interested in getting more of their blushes.

This blush gives me more of a mature look. My usual everyday blush is springsheen but if I need to look a bit more formal/serious and want some color on my face this blush does the trick. I don’t think I’ll ever run out of it since there’s so much product in the pan and it’s pretty pigmented.

I’m afraid this color just didn’t work for me. I normally love plum anything (reddish-plum, purplish-plum, brownish-plum, they all usually work for me as long as they don’t lean too warm or cool either way). Unfortunately, this doesn’t strike me as plum. In the pan and on my cheeks, this looks to be a warm reddish pink, with a coppery sheen. The color itself is okay, its just the coppery shimmer that looks very unnatural on me. As with all MAC blushes I’ve used, the pigmentation is very good, and I only need to lightly touch my brush to the pan to pick up enough color. The texture in the pan appears a bit ‘chunky’ yet it goes on easily and smoothly. It could just be from use, as I received in swap and did not purchase new. The staying power is good, lasting 8-10 hours with minimal fading. I’ve experimented with this with various color palettes in warm and neutral tones, but it just doesn’t ever look right on me. I can’t really fault the product itself just because the color is wrong for me. I’d recommend this for warmer skin tones. I’d suggest trying before buying if at all possible though, because pictures and shade descriptions didn’t really give me an accurate representation of how this shade actually appeared.

I got Plum Foolery in the Hark the Heraldry LE packaging from Tartan Tales which included a beauty powder and Dame Blush. The packaging was clever and included a mirror (unlike MAC's standard blush packaging). The mirror was a nice touch and the packaging was both clever and at the same time, a bit tricky to use (hard to pick up just the one blush without my brush spilling over into the next pan).

Plum Foolery was the real hit in this trio. It's a sheertone shimmer, which is such a pretty finish in my opinion. And this is a great shade for me - a lovely crushed berry sort of plum (rather than purple-plum). It shows up beautifully, blends seamlessly and lasts all day without fading. I wouldn't hesitate to repurchase this on its own.

One of my go-to blushes. Perfect plummy mauvey colour with little gold shimmers... could be layered for a very natural or a very bold look. Love it!

Colour: mauve pink with subtle shimmer throughout. Works best with more dressy days to the office, rather than casual; the blush applies a little darker than my regular daily tones so it's best to apply this with a light hand to make sure you don't overdo it.

The subtle shimmer adds a nice bright glow to my NW25/30 complexion. A surprising bonus to an already amazing colour.

Shade: lacks complexity, much too flat. That said, on plus side: subtle results are achieveable, when applied with care. And, generously sized.

This is my first MAC blush and I do like the color on me. When applied it enhances my appearance to be more feminine when applied with a light hand. Problem is, it looks kinda dull on my skin tone. This is a sheertone blush and you can build up the color. Plum colors used to be my favorite looks because they look subtle. The only problem i have is, it doesnt really complement my skin. I find that coral blushes soothes my skin better and gives me a healthier glow and brightens my complexion.

Great blush for my fair skin.....but it would look good on all complexions! It makes me radiate innocence. The sheer texture makes it so wearable and easy to work with.

on my NC40 skin this came out very dull. i have darker indian skin in summer and sallow skin in winters. however in neither seasons does this blush make my skin glow. i have tried layering with a bronzer and it is either too light or if you add a few layers too bright - i look like an idiot in the photos.

I purchased this product about three weeks ago and have been using it every single day. I would say the color is buildable but to start off is incredibly sheer. It is also very shimmery, and mostly what shows up on the skin is the shimmer. I find that there is not a lot of color pigmentation on my cheeks sometimes, which I find aggravating, but like I said, it is a buildable blush and is really good for beginners. It's basically mistake proof and is easily blendable. I would recommend this shade highly!

This is a pretty, light plum color with a slight shimmer. It looks nice with my nc20 skin - brightens my face without being too pink. For a totally neutral look, I use Blushbaby, and when I want to step it up a bit, I use Plum Foolery. I really like the texture of these blushes. They are very smooth and long lasting, even on my oily skin. I would repurchase if I ever run out.

I like this blush, I tend to be more of a fan of matte blushes but the shimmer in this blush is very slight. The color is great for medium tan skin and looks great for a natural flush look.
