My first ever cleansing oil was clinique's take the day off cleansing balm, and while I liked it, I wanted to try something more affordable. I purchased the kose on recommendations from the skin care board and can say I'm quite pleased with it. It's not great, but it's not bad either. The pros: It takes my makeup off, as intended. Smells nice, like an orange creamsicle. The price $11. The cons: Feels very thick, doesn't rinse off super clean. Stings my eyes. I've used up a whole bottle, and while I would consider repurchasing, I'm not, as I'd prefer something with a thinner consistency that rinses off better.

Discovered this last summer and can't believe I ever lived without it. Removes dirt, oil, and makeup better than anything! A fraction of the price of DHC's cleansing oil, and works just as well (I actually like the texture of Softymo better).
I am HIGHLY acne-prone and this has never caused a breakout. Once you get over the weirdness of using oil to combat problems caused by oil, you will be hooked. My skin is looking better all the time.
I have purchased it on Amazon, but it's also available in pretty much any large Asian market that sells toiletries.

I have been using olive oil as my cleanser for some time but there were two things I did not like about it: 1) it left my skin oily and 2) I had to really work at it to get eye make-up off. So I decided to stick with the oil concept, but also went to the Japanese method and found this cleansing oil to be well recommended.
I love it! It takes everything off so far including waterproof eye make-up, face paint, and body paint without me having to scrub hard. And it wipes away quite easily.
I have used it both over the sink and in the shower and it works equally well. I have also gone with nothing afterwards (no cleanser) and still no oily feeling. I prefer to use a cleanser afterwards, but I do not feel I have to.
It is more expensive than olive oil or drugstore cleansers (I think, have not bought those in a while), but that may be because I purchased online instead of trying to find it locally. I still do not consider it "expensive" just more so than the standard stuff. And I think it is every bit worth it. I will definitely be repurchasing!

This is my favorite cleanser that I use every night to wash my face. Since my skin is very acne prone I always wash my face and remove my makeup at night. What I love the most about this product is that I only have to use one product to get off all my makeup. I was using the Cerave hydrating cleanser at night but I would have to use a separate makeup remover prior to washing my face to get off all my foundation or eye makeup off because that was not good at taking off makeup. This removes all my makeup including mascara, liner, etc without me having to tug at my eyes. It washes right off and doesn't leave an oily residue on my skin. Afterwards my face doesn't feel tight or dry it just feels comfortable which is important to me because I use a tretinoin cream at night to help with my acne and that sometimes leaves my faces feeling dry. The bottle is relatively inexpensive at about $15 compared to say the Boscia cleansing oil, which I like, but is $26. I've already purchased a second bottle of this. The first one lasted three months for me and that was with my sister using it nightly as well, so I imagine it would last most people about 6 mths.

I use this every night to take off my face makeup, this isn't effective for me to remove eye makeup so I use a baby wipe for that. I read that this product helped some people with acne and blemishes but unfortunately I can't say the same. My skin does feel a lot smoother and cleaner though. I rub it all over my dry face and then add a bit of water and repeat, then fully rinse off. This removes my makeup quickly and effectively, I love how I don't have to use a cream cleanser then a face wash, this does everything in one step. A little disappointing that it hasn't done anything to my blemishes but I would definitely buy a cleansing oil again to remove my makeup.

love this. has cleared up my skin a bit since i started to use it and makes my skin feel ridiculously soft after washing and applying moisturizer. has a strong citrus scent that some may not like - also is primarily made of mineral oil, which may be harsh on some skin types. i have relatively sensitive skin, but haven't had any issues with this.

So far, this is my favorite cleansing oil! It does not take off heavy mu like ELDW in one wash (I need something more like cold cream or Albolene for that), but it does a great job if I am wearing light mu. I've tried DHC, Origns clean energy oil, and MAC cleanse off oil, but this one is my favorite because...1. mineral oil based with emulsifer, (no fancy mixture of irritating oils) 2. CHEAP for the size ($12 at local japanese market) 3. fresh clean scent, not overpowering ...4. MOST importantly...I actually feel little hard plugs come of my skin when I massage for a minute!!! That never happened with the other oils I used! Never broke me out... Rinses clean..I LOVE this oil

This cleansing oil doesn't work well for removing makeup. I prefer DHC. I always felt like I needed to follow this cleansing oil up with another cleanser, and sometimes when I didn't, I would break out. Yes, it's cheaper than other cleansing oils, but not a good alternative.

I bought this at Mitsuwa, which is surprisingly close to my city in a way. To keep it short an sweet, I like this cleansing oil. I was nervous about the mineral oil content but so far my skin is behaving normally. Smells nice, cleanse my face well. Not wild about the price but hey it came from Japan.

Oh, I have been using this oil for quite some time from an oversea seller. On my dry skin, it felt a bit tight after rinsing, which is not a big deal since serum & moisturizer comes next. BUT ...... lately I find a way of extending this oil, is to mix it equal part with olive oil, I have even mix in 1.5 the amount of olive oil to it and find it felt luxurious and less drying and yet it is still water soluble. Amazing.
Although I am quite sure other oil like sweet almond or grapeseed oil will work just as good.

My first time trying this back in 09, heard about it and bought some from the japanese supermarket ! I thought it was good, but never really understood why my skin was getting better... Fast forward to this year, I started breaking out again, wanted a cleanser that would get deep into my pores and CLEAN the oil without stripping me like most cleansers, which in turn creates more oil and more breakouts- nasty cycle eh? Anyways this stuff I've been using it for about 3-4 weeks and when I stopped my skin took a beating. Love how it is cleansing yet moisturizing, 5 STARS and will rebuy unless it breaks me out which if it was going to happen, would have already, great for sensitive, acne prones looking for something to take off that makeup or ss !
UPDATE::: 6 MONTHS later.... still love this, it is HG material, keeps my skin in balance, soft, radiant, never overdrying.

I am new to oil cleansers and decided to try this one first because of the lower price. It is easy to find in the Korean and Japanese marts in the city. I don't wear eye makeup, but I do use Colorstay and physical sunblock on my face, both of which are hard to get off at night. Using this as a pre-cleanse works great. I don't mind the oily film that's left on my face, because I always follow it up with my Neutrogena Naturals Makeup Remover cream cleanser. With this extra pre-cleanse, my face now feels completely clean! I wish I had known about this sooner. There's a lot of discussion about whether the mineral oil in some of these cleansers are good for you. I have not experienced any breakouts, so maybe I am one of the lucky ones unaffected by this ingredient. I will be trying and reviewing a sample of DHC next just to see whether I want to switch to something more "cosmetically elegant."
UPDATE: I have switched to DHC for good because it just rinses cleaner without needing another cleanser afterwards.

I love this cleansing oil. I bought it because I suspected my regular cleansing method wasn't getting rid of my physical sunblock completely and that it was clogging up my pores.
I haven't used any of the fancy expensive oils, and I don't see the need to - I like Softymo's ingredients, it's not hard to rinse off (comes out as an oil, but emulsifies to a milk on your face and cleans off by just splashing water so you don't even irritate your skin by rubbing at it), it hasn't broken me out, it smells like the orange oil extract it contains, it's not horribly expensive especially because you get a good amount of it and only need one pump to do your whole face. You can probably get this cheapest at a Mitsuwa or any other Asian supermarket. I have to get mine online now because there are none in the whitewashed middle of nowhere town I'm in right now, but I still feel the price is reasonable, especially if you buy in bulk to save on shipping.
I do want to mention that after I use this cleanser I dry my face and use a make-up removing cloth just to make sure everything is off (I usually still have some foundation near my hairline, but that's my fault because I don't want to get the oil in my hair). I then either hop in the shower or rinse again, and this method works for my sensitive, combo-dry skin (which hates everything under the sun, so yippie for it tolerating this!). If you experience problems with this breaking you out you might want to follow up with a cleanser to see if that helps, because this really makes removing make up and sunblock really fast and easy, it's worth giving it another chance. :) Highly recommended!

Smells like oranges. I paid around ten dollars for this product and it removes my makeup almost if not just as well as my DHC cleansing oil. Doesn't irritate my skin, but I do have to follow up with another cleanser to prevent it from breaking me out :D This is the only cleanser that that doesn't irritate my skin that can remove my Shiseido sunblock.

This isn't the best cleansing oil on the market, you can buy better. However, this cleansing oil is so cheap and does the job and you get a lot of the product for your money. You can buy it online, check ebay and sasa. I got mine in Japan and it is so cheap however you do have to pay more for it online. Using this every night, one bottle can last me a year. This product isn't fragranced artificially, the fragrance comes from the orange oil and the rest of the ingredients pose no threat to my very dry and sensitive skin. This cleansing oil emulsifies well and what I love about it most is that after using it it leaves my skin soft and moist. It doesn't dry out and tighten my skin and I don't have to quickly cover my face in moisturisier as soon as I finish cleansing. Don't skip your moisturisier though! It removes make up well, however I wouldn't count on it to remove waterproof mascara... it hurts your eyes and isn't very effective at removing it either. It doesn't remove 100% of my base make up though, more like 95%. However I don't mind this as I do the double cleansing method and I always follow up with a foaming cleanser anyway to remove residues etc. This product does have mineral oil and a lot of people may be put of because of this, but I have experienced no problems.

This is an excellent cleanser. Very gentle, removes everything well. Excellent price. A very high quality product for a reasonable price. I have sensitive skin and the wrong products cause break outs, this was great. Thank you for the reviews on this, would not have tried it otherwise and it lived up to the great reviews.

I was using the DHC olive oil cleanser for a long time, but the oil was contributing to eyelid swelling for me. I really like cleansing oils so I thought I would give this oil a try and I don't regret it. This is a great cleansing oil that does not aggravate my eyes after (gently) scrubbing mascara off. I really like it and will continue to use and repurchase.

Awesome product! I'm very impressed with its ability to remove my very very heavy make up (after becoming a bridesmaid) with just 1x wash! Ok, I repeated the washing 2 more times just to be sure, but it's just amazing to see how all, ALL, my make ups being dissolved completely the first time, even my eye make up. Amazing.
The second and third wash were just me being paranoid, I absolutely love this! And also, for daily use, we need only 1 pump, I haven't finished mine after 1 month though I'm using it almost everyday. Wow. Very cheap also considering how long it remains.
The only downturn is the packaging that comes with pump is not very travel-friendly. I need to be really careful not to drop it cos I know it will break easily. Thus, when I need to travel out of town I cannot carry this with me, too bad.
But you see how much I want to bring this and how love it too much to refrain from carrying it ^-^
Hope you all like it too!

EGGSELLENT! I LOVE! i hate paying a ton for cleanser, but i also really dislike when my cleanser fails to remove everything, including my sunscreen, my makeup & my eye makeup. this totally doesn't break me out (I thought previously that it did, so i stopped using it), but I started eating healthier (ie more veggies, less fried/junkfood&candy) and my skin is back to smooth again! takes off all my makeup, including eye, is not irritating for my sensitive skin, and is nice for massaging old acne scars and (hopefully) helping them fade. PLUS sometimes i don't use moisturizer after because my skin doesn't feel stripped. ++++! sooo happy! ps don't expect your cleanser to do all the work for your skin!
ONE BOTTLE LATER: still loving it! :)
