Wow! This makes my skin so squeaky clean. I had been searching for a better cleanser because of my chronic clogged pores. I've been using this only in the evening and following with some light exfoliation. Together, they have done a good job of getting my skin clearer and all of the makeup/sunscreen off of my face. For $20, this is a reasonably priced cleanser that will do exactly what it says. I follow up with a heavier moisturizer in order to assist with the dryness that this cleanser can cause. Definitely not for dry or sensitive skin types.

I give this 5 lippies just because it does exactly what it says it will. Foams up very well and your skin feels super clean. Says it's for oily skin, so don't use this and complain that your skin is dry..it definitly could have that effect for normal-dry skin. I am oily and it's summer and very humid here so this is just what I was looking for. Will probably not use in the winter. I don't feel that I need to use my clarisonic with this because the creamy thick foam is enough to throughly get all my makeup off!

This should be called Squeaky Clean, not Sparkling Clean. My skin really does squeak and is very clean after using this. And yet, it is not dry, red, stripped, irritated, or itchy. My skin tone is improved. Haven't had a new spot since I started using it. I have combination skin that is very sensitive and has hyper pigmentation, so it is a miracle this doesn't make my face red. I will def repurchase.

I've been on the search for the perfect face wash for quite some time now. I bought this due to the good reviews here on MUA and I have not been disappointed. First, let me tell you what I look for in a face wash. Different strokes for different folks and all. I have pretty oily skin, and I wear both primer and foundation daily. I wanted a face wash that FOAMED - and foamed well. I like that squeaky clean feeling after washing. Squeaky clean, not dry and tight-there's a difference. So here comes Estee Lauder Mud Foam Cleanser. I paid $20 for this at Macy's and while that's pretty pricey for a face wash, it certainly delivers. This stuff smells light and airy and pleasant. And you only need a little tiny bit to make a big bad foam. It removes all of my face makeup, and just about all of my eye makeup too. (I wear UDPP and plenty of eye makeup.) I'm in love. I ordered two more to keep under the sink in case they decide to stop making it. If you're looking for the same things I was in your face wash, try it, you won't be disappointed.

I had initially wanted the gel cleanser in this line but the SA talked me into buying the 'mud' cleanser saying it would last longer. I did and using it along with the toner and clear difference moisturizer cleared my skin. That's saying something after having struggled with cheek breakouts for the past 5 years. Now when I ran out, I bought the gel cleanser just dying to try it however it dried my face out more and led to a pimple. So for me...this creamy texture is perfect. The botanicals really seem to calm my skin and the price is not unreasonably steep like some other department store lines.

I really like this product it cleans like a dream ! The very thick formula means that you only need a very, very small amound of product to make for effective cleaning of the skin. I am not sure it is as deep cleaning as the company says but it does a great job. The only down side to it i think is the amount of product you get, for £19.50 i would expect it to have the same amount as its sister cleanser the Estée Lauder Sparkling Clean Oil Control Foaming Gel Cleanser 200ml also £19.50.

A good cleansing foam for those with oily skin. The texture was very luxurious and the skin felt very clean and smooth, but it dried out a bit, and it was pretty strong parfumerad which sensitive individuals may react to.

I got this as a birthday present 2 months ago.
I love the smell and the lather.
I don't use much product. A dime size is good for me.
Leaves my skin clean and not oily.
I will def buy this after i finish it!!!
EDIT: I use this to clean my brushes and this is amazing as a brush cleaner. I will repurchase only to use for my brushes.

My skin is slick oil in the summer. I recently bought this because i needed a cleanser that is foamy to use with my clarisonic. It cleanses really well and lather up easily with my clarisonic. It did not dry my skin up (like i said, i have very oily skin). The SA did warn me that this could be really drying for some people. But i knew i needed an oil control cleanser in the summer so i bought it anyways.
When the weather turns cold, i will get the splash away cleanser (for combi skin) to prevent my skin from drying. $20 for a cleanser is still okay for me because drugstore brand cleansers never meet my expectation. They are either too soapy and strip off my natural oil or not oil free enough.

I started to use this cleanser in the summer and it was good,I like how it lathers and clean perfectly. But tube lasts really long time, and I couldnt finish it by the end of the summer. I was using it through the winter as well,as I dont like to keep opened bottles and tubes,I like to use up all product always.Anyways my skin is dry and I felt during the winter was bit drying me out. This tube really lasted me 1 year, used only in the morning,at night I like to use cleansing milk...
I will not repurchase just because my skin is dry and aging but I will try blue tube EL cleansing cream instead.Probably will suit better for my dry skin.

This cleanser is very drying even though I have oily skin. My skin ended up producing more oil to protect itself! And on top of that, it's pricey. Drug store mud cleansers works better and are way cheaper. The only reason I gave it a overall rating of 1 not 0, is that it does clean well.

I dont have overly oily skin, I have normal skin with a shiny t-zone, and this works great! very fragranced, but I LOVE the smell. Its a cleansing foam, but all other cleansing foams Ive tried (shiseido, la mer to name a few) always leave a film or leave my skin really tight, but this does not. Ive had this tube for almost a year, a little goes a long way. takes off makeup and leaves your face feeling clean. Never broke me out either.
*** update 10/29/09 *** this tube lasted me over a year (on and off usage) and its pretty good for summer. In winter, its a little TOO squeaky clean, and too drying. soft clean is better when its colder and my skin is drier. I would still repurchase this next summer.

I only bought this so I can get the gift set Nordstrom was giving out last month. I just asked for a cleanser for "oily" skin. When I saw the key word "foam", I was very hestitate because all the foaming cleansers I have used in the past tend to dry out my face (even though I am so oily). When I use it with my Clarisonic, surprisingly it "glides" a lot better than my normal Philosophy cleanser. Afterwards, it does leave you a very clean feel, but not drying. I am giving this a 4 because I don't love it and it's not my must-have.

I have been using this cleanser for about a year now and I am satisfied. From reading the previous reviews, I have never encountered any type of granules or grainy texture, even when I was still using a tube I purchased three months ago. Also, the tube last you a long time because a little does go a long way. Which also means that even though the price may seem pricey for a cleanser, it will last for a while. The packaging is cute. My first tube was with the plastic green cap, but now they have tried to make it fancy by putting a gold screw on cap, but oh well the product works great for me and my combination skin. Bonus Tip: if you want to exfoliate with the cleanser use a pea sized amount of Clinique's Exfoliating Scrub and it just feels so good afterwards.

I have always adores this stuff from the very first time I used it. Just a tad will go a long way. Removes all of my makeup, cleanses and does a super good job of making my face look and feel refreshed. I also love the scent and the other products aimed at oily skin in this line. Great stuff!

I have only used this twice now (just purchased it) so if there are any changes from this opinion, I will edit. As far as I can tell it is a great product. I was using Clinique before but this is a much more gentle type of cleanser. At first I thought it would do nothing but my face felt so nice and clean when I rinsed it off, it was great. It has a very pleasant smell and is absolutely not overpowering. I am not someone who usually cares about packaging. It's in my shower so why do I care what the packaging looks like, I care more about what is inside and how it works and, so far, it's been great.
**edit** I have found that this cleanser does not cleanse as well as some cheaper products. It feels squeaky clean when getting out of the shower but then when I use the astrigent there is still tons of makeup coming off. Love it other than that.

I normally use EL's Perfectly Clean Splash Away Foaming Cleanser for Normal/Combi skin, but when that ran out of stock, I decided to try the Sparkling Clean Purifying Mud Foam Cleanser which is meant for oily skin.
I'm not sure where the "mud" comes to play here as the main purifying and oil-zapping botanicals are Lemongrass, Cucumber and Lotus Flower.
When compared to Perfectly Clean, I found Sparkling Clean didn't lather as much as the former did. Anyway, it still works up a sizeable amount of lather, and all you need is small, dime-sized amount. I found the mud cleanser had a slight nitty texture, like there were granule substances in there. I would have preferred a smoother, creamier texture.
The product is light green and has a fresh, green scent. I'm impressed with EL cleansers, including this one, as there's no need for a separate make-up remover. I normally go over twice to get really squeaky clean skin.
With the mud cleanser, my face is left feeling fresh and renewed with no traces of soapy film. Since this is for oily skins, it's not as hydrating as Perfectly Clean, but it doesn't strip your skin and leave it stretched tight. It has done an excellent job of mattifying my T-Zone; perhaps even better than Perfectly Clean. So it doesn't matter if you have combination skin, the mud version will work just as well for you too to stave off oil for longer.
Yes, it's a little on the pricey side, but remember that you only have to use just a bit to create a luxurious lather. I'm still scratching my head about the texture though, with its itsy-bitsy soft grains. Between Perfectly Clean and Sparkling Clean Purifying Mud, it's a tough choice between the two. I don't mind getting both actually and taking turns to using each of them every other day as both have their own unique benefits.

I honestly loved the cleanser... while I was washing my face. Afterwards, not so much. It didn't do anything for my clogged pores or my oiliness. I loved the smell though!
