This definitely cleans your face.....I felt like it had stripped me of my skin by the end of this ordeal. Yes...this was an ordeal.....lol my eyes were sore after it and by God do I make sure my mouth is pursed shut when I use this. I don't think I would have ever sworn again if my mother had washed my mouth out with this!!!
Okay okay it's not that bad.....it's a face wash. But as some have described, it's like a foamy soap. Like, crushing and blending a bar of your standard drying soap, and mushing it into a tube.
The scent doesn't offend me. It is the assault on my sense of sight and taste that is off putting. Surely they didn't mean this when they talked about pain is beauty....Definitely need a decent moisturiser after it, now I've bought it I'm going to use it but I blend it with a moisturising exfoliator like St Ives to add moisture so my face doesn't feel like my fingers are tugging at my skin when I lightly brush over my face when I have rinsed it.....
Xx

Definitely not my go-to cleanser when given the choice, but I've been using it lately so I can use it up and it hasn't backfired on me yet. This claims it's for normal/oily skin, back when I first got it I found it to be extremely drying, (I have combination skin, but I was given mine to try after I purchased another Estee Lauder product,) however now that I've found a good moisturizer it's not an issue for me anymore. It doesn't make me break out any more than usual, which I would consider a plus. I do love the scent of this, though I do find it can be a little overpowering when it's used directly around the nose area. One tube can easily last for a long time because the product is a very thick cream, I only need to use about a pea sized amount per wash. This isn't for someone who's on a budget or looking for that "miracle product." It gets the job done, but so do most other facial cleansers, so there isn't anything about this that makes it worth the price.

I would not buy any product from estee lauder. It gave me a break out for a week and half. It will last a long time. I returned this product 2 weeks after I purchased it. Highly up set. I now have dark spots from it.

This is by far the worst cleanser I've ever tried.
It is very strong and contains unsafe ingredients such as Urea and SLS. It severely irritated my skin to the point where I broke out all over my face. Be cautious when trying this product out

My mum uses this and she loves it, so thought I'd give it a go, but nooo! This is sooooo fragranced! I have never used anything as fragranced on my face! It's so irritating! Its literally like a foamy soap or even worse. For an every day use, it would sting my eyeballs out as well as my nose! Okay, it might get make up off, and cleanse your skin well... but I just find that its not worth the pain. For the price as well, psssh! Its impossible to do my make up in the morning right away when i use this. I can barely see for the next hour. My eyes are red, wattery, irritated, stingy...just blergh! And for my breakouts... I dont find that it helps at all... I dont see a difference when I use this on my skin whatsoever.. Very poor product..

I ran out of my usual cleanser, Clinique Rinse-Off Foaming, and I had a tube of this as a potential back-up. It's definitely not as good.
I found it difficult to squeeze the product out of the tube. It's heavily fragranced. Its texture is much thicker than my Clinique cleanser making it more difficult to lather up. In addition to all that, I found this product to be very drying as well. On the plus side, this cleanser is very thorough, my face felt absolutely clean and without residue. No irritation either, despite the fact that it's so strong.
It's not so horrible that I won't finish up the tube but I definitely won't repurchase.

I am a combo skin kind of a gal and this is marketed for normal/combo skin - Ms Lauder, I humbly beg to differ! Oily gals only need apply!
This comes in a sturdy blue squeeze tube, which I like, and it is not terribly dear considering that it is a 'luxury' brand. My low score for the tube is from this morning. I thought I was 'out' of the cleanser; it had been getting harder and harder to get any out for the last few days. Being a sturdy Navy type girl, I cut the tube open and there was TONS left. Seriously tons! Girls, cut the tube open!
Now for the results...this is my AM cleanser; I use an oil at night for removing make up. I've tried this at night and I don't feel that it is enough to remove mascara etc... In the Am it is super effective, perhaps too effective. I am squeaky clean after this. Tight, slightly red, you know what I mean. So if you are oily, this would be awesome, but as a combo girl, it is a little too much for my skin.
Not a cleanser I would repurchse based mostly on being too aggressive for my skin and having a cut open tube on my counter for weeks.

I really like Perfectly Clean Splash Away Foaming Cleanser it is ideal for me. It takes it off everything so easily, and leaves my face neat and clean! It lathers so beautifully and doesn't cause my sensitive skin to flake. I love it!

NEVER AGAIN. My face feels like it's on fire after washing with this. I get red patches and skin feels inflamed, like I washed my face in acid. The wash is very drying and harsh, it stings when used around the eye area. I have small red bumps on my chin that developed since I started using this 4 days ago and my nose is very dry and flaky- something I NEVER had any issue with before in my life. Dissapointing.

I have a combination skin, only breakout during extreme weather conditions. But this cleanser caused my skin to be sensitive (reddened skin) and my cheeks starting to have little acne(s) after using it for 2 days. After washing the skin, I feel my skin oil is stripped off and tight. For those who have combination skin or sensitive skin or not so oily skin, this is definitely not for you.

I used to have a weird mixture of acne prone skin and dry skin. As the weather got warmer and my skin became more acne-prone than ever. This cleanser actually solved my acne problems!
I reduced my previous complicated regime to only this cleanser and an oil-free moisturizer. AND, the acne is gone for good in a few days, first time since I was a teenager!! (For reference, the old regime was: cleaner, toner, serum, moisturizer AM/PM. Then, mask and exfoliator weekly.)
Using this without a moisturizer is totally unimaginable for me since it really cleans away any impurities and strips away its oil along with it. Also, I close my eyes when I use this cleanser. Otherwise, it really hurts the eyes.
I've to give up all other products I use, such as ones for evening my skin tone, but if my acne is rid of. The cost is worth it. The tube is quite cheap considering that it lasts forever and that it took away the need of many other products.

This product is listed for normal/ combo skin types but to my amazement this works well with my super oily/ problematic/ senstive skin. Ive been using this product off and on for some years now and it always removes any and all impurities while refreshing my skin. This is one of the two face washes that cleans so so well. I have a habit of looking at the rinsed off soap/ impurities flow down the drain. Everytime i see that, i touch my face and feel so refreshed :) it gives me the reassurance of a noticeably clean face without stripping the the neccessary oil from my face. Perhaps that is the rebalancing. Overall, i will definitely continue to purchase this product unless somewhere down the line it starts to irritate my skin.

I LOVE this so, SO much. Got a free sample of this at christmas and it's lasted me a few months.. it can be quite drying but if you use a night cream and a day moisturiser it shouldn't make a difference... my skin is combination skin but tends to get dry on the forehead and i find if i don't use a moisturiser at all this does dry my skin out... but the way it removes dirt and oil is worth it!!! Its not cheap but it does last for AGEEEEESSS... My sample size lasted 4 months and that was free!! People have also commented on how good my skin looks.. never going back!!

After adding Estee Lauder's Advanced Night Repair to my skin care routine, I started thinking back to when I only used Estee Lauder. I found some picutres of my honeymoon (Estee Lauder skin care only) and realized that my skin was flawless without any makeup on.
So I have slowly switched most of my products back to that line beginning with this cleanser. I love the light scent and the creamy texture, I love how much it foams up as well. I dampen my face and spread a large pea size amount on my skin and cleanse with my Olay Pro-X brush. Absolute perfection! I know people think it is too stripping but I found that it did a better job of keeping my blemishs at bay than a more gentle cleanser.
Right now I follow with my Clinique level 3 toner and my serums and moisturizer and I love it. I don't think I will be switching any time soon. Also, the tube lasts a very long time so the value for money is certianly there. One thing I will say is that if you don't have oily skin (and I mean oily oily) this might feel too stripping for you. I think more normal skin types might find the Clinique Mild soap to be better or Estee Lauder's Soft Clean cleanser instead.
Happy Cleansing!

I really love this cleanser. Its very simple, gets off make up very well, I dont find it harsh or too soapy and I have a sensitive skin which will tell me straight away if something is not good. I like this and will continue to use - a little goes a long way.

A very strong cleanser that left my skin feeling a bit too tight for my liking afterwards. My skin is very sensitive and it didn't react negatively, but at the same time it was left somewhat dry after including this product in my cleaning regime. It smells nice and putting the foam on feels lovely. Only qualm is how it seems to strip down my skin beyond just makeup and impurities.

Used this cleanser just once, and am glad I just had a random chance to use it and didn't spend my own money on it. It was *super* drying and felt really harsh. My skin felt really stripped for several hours after using it. It does have a couple of things going for it, though. As others have said, a little goes a long way. It also doesn't have a harsh scent. The packaging is also simple, but of good quality, and lets you easily control the amount of product dispensed. This is not a good fit for my sensitive skin.

I'm generally speaking not a great fan of foaming cleansers as I find they can be a little too drying for me. That said, I got this as a GWP recently and decided to give it a go. I use it in the morning in the shower as I don't really have time to be futtering around with cream or lotion cleansers.
This does have a lot going for it. A very tiny amount goes a very long way. I squeeze the tiniest amount out and then lather up between my hands before applying it to my face. Any more and you could have a family bath with the lather it gives off. It's a bit too harsh of a cleanser for me but I can see how it would be very effective at removing heavy makeup or for people with oilier skin types. I won't rule out using it a couple of times a week for when I need a deeper cleanse, I just won't be incorperating it into my every day skincare rountine!
