I received this product as an extra in a swap but before that, I'd never heard of this brand. This cream eyeshadow is quite versatile and lasts all day. I like to use it as a base/wash over the lid and then apply other (generally powder) eyeshadows over it. It's an interesting color: browny taupy colour with some mauve/purple/gold coming through, so it's not intensely purple which makes it suitable for daywear in the office. Did I mention it stays put? My eyelids get quite oily by lunchtime so it is impressive that this stuff stays in place.
It can get quite intense in color and shimmer if the product is layered over itself. I think it's lovely and well worth the price.

I found out recently that this can be a pretty intense color if you apply it over a base. I used to wear this as a wash and it was fairly sheer, but since I started using a base this turned out to be very blendable and nicely pigmented. However, I have also found a nicer eggplant purple alternative: ArtDeco #82, which is bluer than this but also better quality. This shadow does produce quite a bit of fallout so one has to take special precaution when applying it.

This is an okay color. I wouldn't buy this again since I prefer my eyeshadows to have more pigment.

The color of this shadow is really beautiful. It's a shimmery deep eggplant shade. It looks amazing when used in the crease or as a liner. I'm very impressed by the lasting ability of these shadows. My eye make-up looked just as good at 8pm as it did when I applied it at 7 in the morning. The price is also great considering how lovely the shadows are. Big rave from me!

I really like Sonia Kashuk's shadows in general, but Amethyst was quite a disappointment. The quality is there (nice blendability, softness, etc.), it's the color that's the bummer. I've been after the perfect shade of medium violet for a while. In the case, this shadow looks durn near perfect--not too blue, not too pink, just a nice simple purple. On, it's aubergine. Kind of a medium dull fuschia pink with a hint of purple. This may be your thing, ain't mine. Oh well, back to the drawing board.

This is the only Sonia Kashuk product that hasn't been a disappointment so far for me. This shadow comes in a nice rectangular white compact and contains a decent amount of product. The shade attracted my attention because I love violets/purples so I went for it. It's pretty silky, however,it does tend to crumble in the process of application and fall under my eyes in little pieces(I use a layer of loose powder for that). The color itself is gorgeous though-a nice shimmery violet/amethyst (like the stone) color that I like to wear as a sheerer wash. However, I tried layering it over Lancome Colour Dose in Lilac Valley and it looks great but much more intense and suitable for a night out. I haven't located a liner that would look great with this (except the regular black ones). I would probably repurchase this unless I can find a shadow that has the same nice color without the crumbles.
