I can't complain about this UV primer because it does a good job on my face: nice smooth coverage, good UV protection, some oil control. I down know what else do I need from a UV primer?
The package seems to be very tiny but it actually lasts long time. Plus it's convenient to bring it with you for the trips.
The only drawback is a very high price of the product.

P.S. I just noticed that the sticker on the package says that it's SPF 30+, but when I removed the sticker the package says it's SPF40. Weird.

Update: I think I'll take one lippie off because it's not easily spreading.

The Moisturizing Foundation Primer in 02 is my Holy Grail primer. I've been using this for about 4-5 years and have taken mini breaks but always come back to it.
This bottle of loveliness hydrates, evens out my pigmantation, luminizes and keeps my foundation in place on my finicky, over sensitive ,break-out prone skin. I ask you, what more can you ask for in a product?

I've seen the newly formulated version of this primer in a tube so I have two back ups that should last me for a few years because it never seems to run out.

I know I'm gushing but products like this is like a beauty unicorn and must be loved and appreciated.

THIS REVIEW IS FOR THE NEW MOISTURIZING FOUNDATION PRIMER
Product package is gorgeous
fragrance is lovely- kinda like orange flower but very subtle.
I bought Miel 02 spf 15 pa+ which is orange based. Since I have yellow based skin I thought this a near match at firstbut still wearable since you'll be wearing under fndt.
I liked the product a little at first but its growing on me, blending was difficult and not as moisturizing as ud think but still very smooth. excentuates dry patches such as around nose/mouth.
I think it does make your fdtn last a little longer such as my mac mineralize liquid f and thats meant to last like 4 hrs and as I like the dewy look I bought the P&J moisturizing primer which as a bonus has tiny luminizers. sometimes I wear that alone as it does also cover a little of redness and generally gives a little coverage but obviously not like a fndt. truth be told I only bought it becuase I fell in love with the botlle lol. ooh best applied with fingers but very hard to blend so unlikely use of brush

UPDATE: this works better now, since I got the P&JOE fndtn some =how the difficult blendings disappeared! MAybe b/c I changed my moisturizer to BOOts Botanics night cream

I am reviewing the Moisturising Primer in colour 02
My sister bought this for me as a birthday gift and i almost wrote it off due to the too pretty packaging. Turns out, it's probably the best present i ever got.

Notes:
(1) it's great on its own when you don't want to look overly made up. after applying just dust some powder over and you'd be good.
(2) I have very dull skin with uneven skin tone, and this evens it out for me and brightens my face without making me look like a ghost.
(3) i now use the mosturising compact foundation on top of this for work and it works well for me throughout the day.
(4) i just wish the primer bottle had a pump! Do note that the consistency of this primer is more watery than a regular foundation, so be careful when you pour some out for use. if they had a pump, this problem would be solved easily.

i bought it in the color 02 becoz of all the ravings of this products...i hv to say...i was seriously disappointed.
it wasn't moisturizing enough for me, and it sunk into my pores.
since it already provides some coverage, i find that it's too heavy to wear with a fdt, but it doesn't act well on its own either.
i would return it if i could....

This review is for the moisturizing primer #01 (without spf i think). Bought this because of the rave reviews and I was not disappointed. Gives a really smooth and natural finish. I top this with a concealer and La Mer loose powder and my skin looks flawless. Able to skip the foundation. I usually apply a layer of sunscreen before the primer. For me, this primer works way better than the Cle de Peau primer which costs twice the price.

I'm reviewing for the moisturising foundation primer.
I love this product. I got it initially in the fairer shade (can't remember which one) and ended up looking like a geisha. The SA was nice enough to let me exchange it to shade #02, (comes with SPF12, one of the shade doesn't come with SPF though) a beige shade which I simply love.
I have a lot of redness in my cheeks due to acne. This primer evens out my skin tone and tones down the redness (could be due to the shade I chose) which I had hope green-based correctors would do.
It also preps my skin nicely for foundation afterwards. I love that it is non silicone based and it feels very comfortable on the skin. It is unable to cover up acne scars (pit holes) or fine lines but what's most important for me is that it doesn't harm my skin.
It cost $53 in Singapore which I think is well worth the price.
The packaging, a frosted glass bottle with beige-pink cap looks pretty but poor functional wise. You can't control the amount and glass breaks. I transfer the product into another pump bottle and keep the glass bottle. I just finished my first bottle (lasted me 10 months). Definite repurchase.

Quite possibly the lovliest primer I have ever used. Everyone I try this on adores it. I find it works particularly well under powder mineral foundations for a lovely dewy look. Personally, i feel that under shimmery or moisturising foundation that one just looks greasy and slippy.....a tad beyond dewy. It is absolutely amazing under oil-free and non-comdogenic/non-acnegenic foundations. I always have one in my kit. It can also be used for highlighting.

Some people find this a tad too radical for during the day and prefer a softer look. In that instance I'd recommend mixing it in with your foundation on the back of your hand rather than applying it directly to the skin.

This product is lightly moisturising and suitable for all skin types so no moisturiser is needed unless your skin's very dry. Its even light enough for my acne prone skin. It has a built in SPF 12 and antioxidant vitamins. For this reason i don't even bother with a serum when wearing this. Its very multi-tasking. Whats not to love?

My supplier had run out of protective foundation primer, so i tried this foundation primer N in colour 01 instead. Am I happy I did. I love the protective primer for the glow it gives, but this is much more now, autumny, matte, sophisticated, flawless. Seriously, foundation grips to this like nothing else. It smoothes over pores and gives an impeccable canvas. A word of caution though; foundation really sticks to this stuff, so if there's anything else for it to stick to - dryness, pores - it will stick to those too, unless well blended. Foundation over this is not something to slap on hastily, this is not a silicone filler that makeup slip, slaps and slides on. And as for meticulous blending comes, this allowes it for quite a while, no pilling. Fab.

Did i groan about the lack of pump in the otherwise gorgeusly boudour-worthy bottle? I should, really.

Clarification: this review is for the Foundation Primer N SPF 12 PA+ No. 2 (I noticed that there is no separate reviews for this product and can't figure out if I can add a new product to the product list)

This is one of the best foundation primers I've used. I have sensitive, combination-oily skin that is prone to breakouts in the cheeks/chin area. Needless to say, I have some acne scars and blotchy skin. I find that most other primers I've tried (Sephora's, RMK, Shu Uemera, Skinfood, and Benefit) either did nothing, create a funky residue with my lotion/sunscreen, and/or cause me to look more greasy than I already am. I came across this primer on my way to Mac's counter (Mac's primer has pretty high ratings) and was easily talked into giving it a try by the P&J's makeup consultant. What sold me on this primer was that I could tell under close scrutiny that the 1/2 side of my face where she applied the primer, my pores seemed definitely less visible and my skin tone looked more even and radiant. Now it's been about 3 weeks that I've used this product almost daily and here's what I love:
1) skin looks more even
2) less foundation needed
3) foundation stays on better into the evenings
4) slight hint of fine shimmer particles creates more of a dewy effect versus an in-your-face glitter
5) a little goes a long way
6) has yet to make me breakout
And what could be improved:
1) glass bottle with screw cap-although cool, I would prefer a pump, I find myself pouring a little too much out sometimes
2) a little expensive for 1 fl. oz., but hey it works
3) SPF 12 really doesn't protect me against southern california sun (at least it doesn't react with my sunscreen or foundation w/ SPF so I'm double covered)
Now, on last note, I read that some people complain that this doesn't do much coverage. Well, I don't wear this alone. Primers are meant to go under your basic foundation. This product does the job at enhancing the effectiveness of your foundation. This is my routine after basic skincare to get flawless (or at least much improved) skin:
1) primer
2) pressed powder (liq foundation if I'm going out)
3) concealer
4) loose translucent setting powder

I bought this product because, 1, the package is really appealing, 2, I have seen a lot of positive reviews on this product. Overall, I am qutie satisfied with this product. It is not oily and it brightens your skin with proper loose powder used( I am currently using Anna Sui loose powder). I would recommend this product to girls with less skin problems, e.g. acnes blemish, etc.

I bought this primer because of huge rave reviews on this board. It didn't meet my expectations one bit. It was supposed to be a primer or corrector. I found it watery clear primer that doesn't do anything. It doesn't correct my redness or improve the skin texture color-wise. It just preps my skin for the foundation which any much cheaper primers whould do.
The bottle looks cheap.
For the price of $25, I would expect much more than just a cheap white plastic. This could be well better off as sunscreen. It does contain 30+ SPF PA++. But I just don't think this one would work for me.

UPDATE* I'm not sure if this primer makes me yellow-ish.

I got this as a Sephora sample where they sell the full size 1 ounce bottle for $25.00. While that is not cheap, I believe that the price is justified as that bottle should last a good long time. I actually do not like opaque bottles as you never really know when you are running low on product and I hate to be caught empty handed. The product has a very high SPF of 30. Initially, I was not impressed as it is VERY watery, but a little goes a long way and it disolved completely into the skin and did not leave a white cast on my face. I was not really aware of any particular scent. My skin felt smooth and there were no break outs. I applied my make up as usual and looked in the mirror. Wow! My face glowed and my make up lasted all day. I like the fact that this is not a silicone based product which always seem to lie on top of my skin as opposed to becoming one with it like this product. The ingredients include Extract of Marigold, Extract of White Lily, Sunflower Oil, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Extract of Butchers Broom, and Linen Cellulose. While I have some other primer samples I want to try, this is definitely on my HG list and I would buy the full size without hesitation.

Please note: We're seeing reviews for several different products combined here. (The tinted base in several shades is only available in Asia, if I'm correct...?) THIS review, October 2006, is for: Paul & Joe Protective Foundation Primer / Base de Maquillage Protectrice SPF 30+ PA++ Sunscreen. It is a reformulation of the primer that was previously available in the USA, and it is a big improvement on that earlier version. This is a very watery formula (shake the bottle before dispensing!), but if you aim a little bit into the palm of your hand, and apply quickly but gently with your fingertips or a foundation brush, you'll be ok. The primer leaves a soft, matte finish to my face (without the whitish tint of the old version) and it definitely makes my foundation last longer throughout the day. It doesn't give me any breakouts, and I like knowing that I'm getting extra sun protection (although I'm already wearing a moisturizer with SPF). I'm deducting one point for the sweet floral scent, which is just too much. Why can't this be an unscented product, Paul & Joe?

I bought the primer N 02 to complement my PnJ stash, based on the glowing recommendations of gals here and in a couple of other boards. strangely enough, while my skin has always taken well to PnJ stuff, ( I use the 2way and fluid foundation exclusively - don't own any other foundations) the very first time i tried on this primer, i broke out in rashes and tiny little white-headed pus-filled bumps ALL-over my face, and it spread to my neck too. i didn't think the primer was the culprit at first - after all i had no issues with other PnJ products. thankfully the rashes went away after smothering them daily in aloe vera gel for a couple of weeks, and i tried the primer again on my now bump-free face. ouch. what a mistake! the rashes RETURNED.. while i would very much like to give this a good review, it simply didn't work for me. for sure i am allergic to something in this primer, which is a pity as i've just thrown S$52 down the drain.

Got this recently in a sample from sephora. I was a bit surprised by the consistency. It squirt out of the package like a shot and got allll over. It is VERY watery. The smell leaves a little to desire, it smells sort of like soil? Anyways, after applying it to my face, my skin was very slippery and shiny.. but out of nowehere it sunk into my face and left it completely smooth and beautifully amazing! I've tried plenty of primers, and this really really did the job. My perscriptives foundation slid right over it with ease and really blended the best I've ever seen! I knew right away this primer was something special! My face looks glowing, smooth, wonderful!
I will definitely be buying as soon as I can!!

I bought this with the light cream foundation and they seem to work wonders together. I love that this has an spf 30 but it doesnt feel like some thick, oily sunscreen. It is very light and feels great when you put it on. This product does exactly what it says it will, "light-textured lotion with spf30 to help protect skin from damage caused by UV rays, while providing optimal moisture. Its formula glides comfortably over skin and brightens, clarifies, evens out skin tone.

This is a good primer and physical sunscreen (spf30, uva/uvb) in one product. I'm giving this a 4 rather than a 5 because you have to be careful with the application or you get a very white face.

The consistancy is very runny and you have to shake it (sounds like nail polish when you shake the bottle) before use. It has a fairly strong scent, which I wish faded more quickly. It also is a pale cream color which mostly disappears. Even though I'm quite pale I notice that slight white cast from the sunscreen. Deeper-toned ladies should definitely try a sample first.

Those are the cons. The pros are that it really does provide a smooth base. I find it better than MAC's Prep+Prime overall. I have had no breakouts or reactions to the sunscreen (have been using daily for about 2 weeks now). And it really does help my makeup last. A worthwhile product at a better price than other similar primers.
