With the holidays upon us I had to take the time to review a product that I have been searching my whole life for....LipSense lipsticks. I am a lipstick enthusiast, and I love trying different colors and textures. The product promises to be kiss proof, drink proof, etc...and it certainly lives up to its promise. I am a stage actress (when time permits) and this Sweetheart Pink stayed on me from start to finish. I drank from water bottles, coffee cups, kissed, sang, and died at the end and the lip color did not budge. I swear by this product and have ordered several since. My other favorite color is Plumeria with Sand Gloss on top. I don't need any other lipsticks and coming from me- that says so much.

As a person who wears red lipstick nearly every day, I love the convenience and staying powder of indelible lipsticks! I was a huge fan of a similar product, Lip Ink, which I happily wore for many years. However, the formula (or perhaps my chemistry) changed, and this product stopped working for me a couple of years ago. After reading that Christina Aguilera was a fan of Blu Red Lipsense, I purchased a tube. Initially, I wasn't too impressed with this product, as I didn't like the feel of Lipsense (it seemed to remain slightly tacky, unlike Lip Ink, which I found to be a weightless stain.) However, after playing around with the product for a bit, I've decided that I actually like this as much as my beloved Lip Ink. In fact, I love it more!

Blu Red is a wonderful bright, true red, perfect for 1940s-50s looks. It is incredibly long-wearing, so long as I reapply the accompanying gloss (I actually use Lip Ink Shine, as I prefer the feel of this—Lipsense's gloss has a very sticky feel to it), and I never have to worry about smearing, bleeding, or fading. Application requires a steady hand but is fairly easy—you must apply this in thin layers (I usually apply two layers), letting each layer dry before applying the next (and you must also apply in one direction, as swiping the wand back and forth will remove the product.) Removal is a cinch—a couple of swipes with a tissue soaked in rubbing alcohol takes it right off. I also find that Lipsense is very conditioning; my lips tend to be quite dry, but Lipsense seems to solve this issue. Overall, I am extremely pleased with this product and will continue to repurchase!

I have been on a hunt for the perfect bright red stay-put lipstick. Among the 2-step products (color and gloss) I've tried everything from drugstore brands like Revlon and L'Oreal to Higher-end products from Estee Lauder and MAC. None of the reds seem to have the staying power to last all day, so I bought LipSense in Blu Red. After just one meal, the color was completely gone in the center of my lips. After another hour or so, it started flaking off the outside edges of my lips (something I've never seen before with a semi-permanent lip product). I watched the tutorial and did put the product on correctly, so it wasn't my error. MAC's Pro Longwear in Lasting Lust is almost the same shade as LipSense's Blu Red, but lasts much longer. With MAC, I get a bit off rub-off in the center, but it takes about 7-8 hours for that to happen. Also, the application is easier with MAC. I guess I'll never find the perfect 'all day' red, but for now, Mac is the best out there. Don't waste your money on LipSense if you're looking for a good red. For less than 1/2 the price, L'Oreal's Infallible will give you the same semi-permanent, flaky coverage.

While I do think Lipsense works a lot better and lasts much longer than any other long lasting lip colors, I personally find that some colors stay put longer than others. I've used a combo of sheer berry and pink champagne that truly did not budge at all for 18 hours, even after eating, kissing, etc. (had to finally scrub it off with a wet washcloth and jojoba oil). However, blu red, which is a gorgeous color, only stayed completely intact for me for about 5 hours. That's miles better than any other red in my collection, of course, and I'm happy with that. After the 5 hour mark, when it starts to crack and flake off, it still looks ok, unless you look closely. Overall, yes, it's a great product. I've only bought mine from ebay, though, as I just can't bring myself to pay $20 for lip color. Just be sure to keep glossing!

I don't sell this product,I have even bought it on EBay,I use several different online sellers. This product is a 5 for me. At night,if I do have any dryness,I use a good lip cream,no particular brand..But good. With other lipstcks or lipstains,from Channel to Lancome,Avon,Mary Kay,my lips flake.With Lipsense,they never do.Nor does it come off on my teeth.I mix the colors because they do seem to be very bright,I mix the Glosses also.The matte Gloss is great,so are the Sand,Pearl and Shell..I have never found a lipstick that I could wear,without flaking, The glosses keep lips soft & moist feeling,so I am extremely happy with LipSense.It does plump a bit (nice) I find it easy to apply,I use the liner, also for lip fullness. It is not as expensive as Lancome.More than drugstore brands though. Last purchase price was $20.00 plus S&H.

I have used Lipsense lip color for about 10 years now and continue to always go back to it for my lip color. All lip stains I have tried that are not Lipsense dry out my lips and surrounding skin and don't last. Lipsense has never dried out my lips, and is so easy to apply. If I want little color, I just put a little on. If I want more, it's buildable. If I want a hybrid color, I can mix coats of two different colors.

Lipsense tends to be highly pigmented, so be careful in choosing darker and more vibrant colors because they will easily be very dark and very vibrant. I have leaned more toward VERY light shades, and then I just build them if I want a darker or more vibrant effect.

I used to buy the gloss, which is really a great gloss. But, I started using The Balm's Plump My Pucker glosses and stuck with them instead because I could matte down vibrant color with the more nude-ish Balm glosses PLUS get a plumping at the same time.

I LOVE this product.
I ordered a bunch of different colors in the lighter more neutral tones like latte, nude creamy pink etc. I have been using these for over 2 weeks now so I could give a good review. The first thing I noticed when I used my LipSense was the smell. The smell was almost unbearable the first 2 times I use it, but by the third time I didn't even smell it anymore. It was so bad at first I didn't think I would be able to use it. I think part of the problem was I wasn't shaking before using. It is very important to shake the tube like you would with nail polish before using. This will give you better more even coverage. I personally like a very nude light tone lip and this product gives me that I truly love this product. It is very important to apply this correctly by only applying in one direction there are application tutorials on youtube . One really cool thing about this product is that it can be layered with different colors so you can get different effects and colors. I have used MANY semi permanent lip products ie Covergirl, MAC and Max Factor and more and the LipSense is my favorite. The reasons why are
1- it really does last.
2. It is very sheer
3. There is a better color selection for a light nude lip
4.different colors can be layered together to give you more color options
and
5. The topcoat is moisturizing and lasts.
The top coats are so much better then any other semi-perm lip product and they aren't sticky.

First of all, thank you MUA and everyone who reviews here, because otherwise I would never have heard of this product because it isn't on sale in the UK. I ordered two colours over eBay, and have been so pleased I have just ordered 5 more, plus enough gloss to put one in the car, bag, bathroom, desk, kitchen and gymbag.

This is the ONLY thing that has ever lasted all day, let alone stayed looking nice! I wouldn't say it is 100% comfortable, but then, nor are a lot of lipsticks. The glosses are great, except that I have always disliked my hair sticking to my lips in a wind. Maybe the Matte gloss will be better.

One thing I find terribly frustrating is the tiny swatches of colour used by distributors online. How can anyone make a choice based on a tiny smear of colour against a white monitor screen? I ended up having to email the seller to ask if some of the colours were warm or cool based, because I couldn't see. The two I have already, while very nice, are NOT like the swatch on the screen.

HOWEVER, it is wonderful knowing that I can apply an attractive, accurate lip product at 8am, wave gloss at it every couple of hours and then arrive home at 6pm with it looking EXACTLY the same. It lasts so well that I struggle to get it off at bedtime!

I am always very skeptical of long-wearing lip colors. I know that they are EXTREMELY drying, chalky/chunky looking, overall not flattering. So when I tried this product, my first impression was.. wow, this really lasted all day. But for me to seriously spend more than $25 on a lip gloss, I had to make a PRO's and CON's list. CONS: terrible smell of paint, horrible taste, CANNOT get it off without a heavy duty make-up remover. PROS: Color stayed ALLLLLLLLLLLL night! (lots of eating, drinking,laughing..etc), Has an amazing moisturizing gloss for a top coat, Did not transfer on to a single thing, applied to lips at 7pm and at 3am looked as fresh as it did at 7, CANNOT GET IT OFF!! It was amazing, I got the color in a deep Ruby Red, the best part of the gloss... THE RED NEVER BLED ONTO MY SKIN!!! Another bonus, they have EVER color under the sun! I highly recommend this product to everyone!!

Love love love this lip stain. I've had difficulty finding the perfect color or combination of colors but this is still better than the dozens of other stains and lipsticks that I keep trying. Absolutely no bleeding into lip lines or leaving marks on cups, glasses, or napkins. At first it seemed to make my lips dry but that is no longer the case.

I use other brand glosses to help w/color but mostly just use it alone. Wish I could afford to sample more combinations as my "salmon" is a touch too bright. It has become my "signature" now though after many years so maybe I shouldn't change!

This product absolutely changes your life when you find that you NEVER worry about touch ups or carrying lipstick with you. If I eat something greasy I may end up with the "ring" but I can trust that on most days the color will last from morning to night.

Awesome Awesome Awesome... my HG lip product. You must use the gloss with it otherwise it will look like you used paint from the hardware store on your lips. :-) Keep the gloss with you and reapply every couple hours! It'll last all day through eating and drinking.

I had never heard of this brand until I saw their booth at a beauty show in Las Vegas in June. I bought four colors (Radiant Red, Blue Red, Nude and Capuccino) for $20 each which i think is kinda steep. But I am wearing Invisalign and regular lipsticks rub off quite easily on them, so I am a complete convert to semi-permanent lipsticks (at least until I'm done with the Invisalign). The colors are all great and they do have amazing staying power. You do definitely have to know the technique for applying these properly to get the most out of them. You absolutely have to let each coat dry before applying the next (3 coats required) and you HAVE to keep your lips apart until you apply the gloss. I'm still trying to get used to the weird feeling when you first aply it - it's alcohol based so it feels cool and a little tingly for a few seconds. I haven't noticed it drying out my lips. They are really difficult to get off. I usually apply either an oil-based cleanser or lip balm and rub my lips together for a minute to work it in. Then I wipe off what I can and re-apply the cleanser and do it again until I get everything off. While these are very good, Revlon ColorStay Overtime lip colors win as my favorite semi-permanent lip color.

I just tried this product for the first time. I have tried all the other long lasting lip colours and this one lasts the longest. My lips are always really dry and this has been fine and has not flaked off like all the others. I have tried LipInk but it doesn't last as long and the colours are not as nice as LipSence.

I've tried a lot of stains & also the competitor LipInk, this tops them all. Takes a little getting used to and its best if you can see the colors in person, but once you know what you want, you can easily get these for $15 each on ebay. (caution: avoid sellers with too good to be true prices on "testers" and such. I've found that they are old products with inconsistent color due to pigment settling in the tubes). The reds in this line can't be beat. Stay on all day, no flaking, smudging, or transfer. I find that you do need to use the Lipsense glosses with these or the product does flake and transfer, and if you wanted less than ideal performance, why bother with this at all? So spring for the glossy gloss too.

First of all you have to use the product properly or you will not like it.
I have used it for 6 years. Its amazing. The new colors that are out now are beautiful.
You must have Clean dry lips!
You must apply 3 coats .
You must reapply your gloss.
Some have mentioned other glosses . 99% of the time other gloss brands will break down the color.
Yes, I"m a distributor , I love it and have 100's of satisfied customers.
The burning will only last a week or so , the shea butter gloss will heal your lips.
The lipsense also provides a mechanical sheild from the sun and enviroment.
You should try the rest of the products.
There are also 6 new summer shades out.

The color lasted about 2 hours..it is too 'pearly' looking, and actually makes my lips look wrinkled. I bought this years ago, but was hoping the formula had changed. Also, so many of you seem to love it--but it just isn't working for me. The color I got was 'rose' which is very pretty in the tube, but has a 'bubblegum' quality on the lips. Maybelline superstay actually lasts much longer for me at a fraction of the price.

I am new to LipSense, having just recently started using them (the past few weeks), and I am pleased. The one thing that I did not realize is that they have a burning sensation when you first apply them. This is not a sting as in clove, but a burning, hot sensation. Like too much cinnamon oil. But the feeling disappears immediately, and the color really does last for hours and hours. Unlike LipInk, which I tried several years ago (and to be fair, may be different now...), LipSense seems to fade evenly, without a ring on my bottom lip. I talk all day long, and this lasts through talking and eating, with or without different lip glosses. I bought it in Sheer Pink, Mauve Ice, and a new "diamond" shade of Trillion Berry. These colors sink into the skin like a true lipstain, not a lipstick, although some of the darker shades may be different. These were all nice medium shades with the right pigmentation for my fair coloring. I also bought the Glitter LipSense, but can't really recommend it. It leaves little sparkles that get all over my chin and above my lips as it dries. Doesn't stay in place or make a difference over the other colors. Their gloss to go over the shades is nice, actually fairly liquid and non-sticky. I would purchase the colors again, but not the gloss, not because I didn't like it, but because it just wasn't very different than way too many other glosses out there. I'd probably compare it to Hard Candy's Shine or Stila's glosses. All in all, I would recommend the lipcolors, and they do have a nice range of shades. Love the Mauve Ice and Trillion Berry!

I love LipSense. I used to sell the products about 4 yrs ago, but that did not work out. I still use the LipSense. It's the only Senegence product that I really liked and still use. As a matter of fact, I haven't used any regular lipstick since. I don't use their glosses though. You can use any gloss. Colored and frosted glosses work great too. I've used Mary Kay frosted glosses, and Lancome Juicy tubes over the LipSense. Even Chapstick gives you a nice matte finish. I do layer the colors because sometimes it's hard to find a nice, lighter shade. I put the Beige Champagne, Snow or Pink Champagne over the darker shades. I had the advantage of having access to all of the colors when I was a distributor, so I used to experiment. If you are a wearer of red lipstick, then this is really great for you because it won't smudge or bleed. I also don't use the remover. It usually wears off by the end of the day, but you can wash off with any glycerine soap like Neutrogena. Some people can't get passed the inital stinging on your lips, but after a short while you do not experience that any longer.
