One of my favorites from BPAL!
To me, it doesn't smell like this description really. "Arabian spices wind through a blend of warm musk, carnation, red sandalwood and cassia."
It smells fabulous though! Like a warm sexy vanilla with a hint of spice. Once it dries, it gets sweeter.

I have an imps ear of this and I LOVE it! All I need is a tiny bit, the residue from the wand on the inside, for this scent to work! This is considerably lighter than my other BPAL scents and it smells exactly like a chai tea latte on me. It's so yummy! i'm seriously considering buying a bottle of this with my next order because it's not sickeningly sweet but it has that perfect balance of warmth, sweetness, and spice that makes you want to curl up and fall asleep. love this scent!

This review is for MOROCCO, which is formerly known as OLD MOROCCO per the BPAL forum.
"The intoxicating perfume of exotic incenses wafting on warm desert breezes. Arabian spices wind through a blend of warm musk, carnation, red sandalwood and cassia."
Based on the description, it's not at all what I expected. There is something very comforting about this fragrance, and I'd call it a comfort scent.
I get a bit of powder, then it morphs into the carnation, which is warm, lovely & just a tad spicy. It's a bit sweet, maybe with vanilla? Definitely more vanilla than sandalwood or musk. It feels like a soft blanket, rather than an dry land. Definitely reminds of Cavalli's Oro by Maurice Roucel, but a bit simpler and softer.
Definitely one of the best in the BPAL range. I still think ZOMBI is my favorite because it is unique, but MOROCCO is a close second, that;s for sure.
Highly recommend it for sampling, which I would say is a MUST lovers of soft carnation scents.

The Lab's description is pretty accurate for this one: "The intoxicating perfume of exotic incenses wafting on warm desert breezes. Arabian spices wind through a blend of warm musk, carnation, red sandalwood and cassia." It's sweet and foody in a cookie-dough or rice-pudding kind of way, but not cloying in the least. I'm averse to cloyingly sugary scents, so that would certainly be a deal-killer. The spices and musk render it into more of a skin-like sweetness--skin with a lick of delicious rice pudding. Comfy and sensual and subtle. Not at all the crazy syrupy strong scents you sometimes get from BPAL--but I do love that house even when such fragrances don't work on me.

My friend sent me an imp of Morocco and I'm really enjoying it. It's warm and cuddly vanilla with a dash of delicious Arabian spice. This is lightly sweet and creamy. This is the ultimate comfort scent, really lovely. This is lighter than most Bpal fragrances I've tried and just really beautiful.

This used to be an exact replica of MMU's Sands of Morocco. When I reported this on the forums, the next batch of Morocco that went out had a strong note of cedar added.
The "old" Morocco that did not contain the cedarwood can now be found at Bath and Body Works under Twilight Woods.
These perfumes are not "original" creations. If you're buying them, you're getting ripped off.

This is an interesting fragrance. I'm not sure whether I'll buy a vial of this, but I might. It's spicy yet sweet, but not cloyingly so. It's not head-shoppy AT ALL (I have gotten a head-shop vibe off quite a few BPALs). Just...not at all. It's welcoming and comforting. I like it...might buy it.

I have an imp of Old Morrocco and Im not sure how much they differ.
This smells an awful like Dior's Poison to me. This is the second imp in a week that Ive tried that has reminded me of Poison -- I cant think of the other off the top of my head right now.
It spicy, but not in a cinnamon spicy way, more like a warm spicy floral note. My mother would love this as she can't live without her Poison. Reminds me of something very Gyspy like....another reason my mother would love it...shes very Bohemian
Probably just not for me though.

Oh I like this! Creamy spicy, warm, sexy. The musk is really strong in this, and I really like how the sandalwood complements it. Then I get more of a softer floral in the dry-down, but with the spices still present. I do believe this is one of my top ten.

This is just a drop-dead stunner of a scent. It's rich, warm, toothsome, cuddly, sultry and sexy. The visual my synesthesia gives me is shimmering, puddling cocoa-brown velvet.
Newer bottles of Morocco tend to be a little more on the vanilla side. As they age, the components blend together into something much better. Just be aware that this is one that tends to be out of joint immediately after shipping, and that if you haven't smelled it after resting it for 6 months, you haven't really smelled it at all.

Got this as a frimp. It's a really gorgeous creamy, buttery, spiced vanilla scent on me. Very comforting and pleasant. The downside is that I really have to apply a LOT for it to be noticeable and it fades quite quickly on me.
Love the scent, just wish it was stronger on me and had better lasting power.

Just got my imps from BPAL today and the only one I ended up putting on was Morocco! I was most excited about this one and I think I like it out of all the samples I received. It started out very spicy (reminds me of Donna Karen's Black Cashmere a bit) and then I could smell some soft, sweet vanilla. This is definitely *not* a vanilla smell, though. The vanilla seems to temper the spiciness and then another note comes through. I can't identify it myself -maybe it's wood? Anyway, this is a lovely scent that I like even more on the dry-down. At first it was quite strong (I only put a dab on my wrist) but after a couple of hours I have to get much closer to my wrist to smell anything. I think you can get one ounces for around $15 which is not bad, and the shipping time wasn't as unreasonable as I was expecting (the website warns of up to two months!) -I got mine in probably three and a half weeks (but I also live right by their factory in SoCal). I encourage people to try these scents: even though I probably only like half of the scents I received, the ordering process is so fun and the descriptions on the website are very enticing :)

In Vial: Spicy wood
Wet: Pungent spice with a little sweet.
Drydown: As it dries it becomes mostly sweet and warm, less spicey. Smells like a mild creamy spice. Becomes very mild. There is something cozy about the way this smells.

Blech. This just goes straight to cedar on me. No cuddly vanilla goodness, no yummy spices. Cedar, which I happen to hate. Ah well, this rating is more reflective of my wonky skin chemistry than anything, I guess.

I am not a big fan of perfumes. Most, except some of the Bvlgari's tea scents, give me headaches. My daughter wanted this scent as a Christmas present so I ordered some samples. Out of the 6 I ordered, three I like. Morocco is my favorite, with good lasting power. Very light and not too sweet. I will definitely order a bottle for myself.

The first time I tried Morocco, it didn't leave much of an impression. It was vaguely spicy and woody. I set it aside and forgot about it.
Months later, I came across it again. I opened the bottle and was just floored. The sandalwood and spices have gone creamy rich, the carnation has the perfect level of spice, and the musk is dead sexy. I couldn't believe how much it had changed. It shot up to one of my favorite scents.
This scent tends to be one of BPAL's most universally appealing ones, and is good for any gender.

This perfume singlehandedly changed my opinion of BPAL. After sampling 30 or so, this is the one and only BPAL fragrance that has ever worked on me, and not turned rancid or plastic. Happy to say that Morocco was totally worth going through all over those misses. Heavenly.

This is my definitely my HG BPAL scent. Even though it is an "exotic" scent it is still light enough to wear everyday. It has a powdery sandalwood scent with hints of vanilla and spices. It lasts all day but isn't offensive or overpowering. I normally like a heavier dramatic spicy scent which is why I initally choose it. But I am pleasantly surprised by how light and subtle Morocco is while still having a depth to it. I would say it reminds me of a Moroccan woman who lives in Paris- feminine, posed, expressive and surprising.

Absolutely exquisite but I love spicy musky scents. Mysterious, sexy, incensy and smokey with some vanilla, a heavy scent. Lasts a long time on me. Would love a bottle of this.

I'm more of a white floral kinda gal, but Morocco is perfect for days I want to feel mysterious and sexy. This is perfect for me because I used to wear Hypnotic Poison but as with most Dior perfumes, found it too potent and overwhelming. (For the record, I tried Addict as well, and hated it). This is a great perfume for fans of those type of scents, like UD Sin and the like. I hardly ever dabble in musky perfumes, but this is lovely. It's not very potent, but I found the staying power to be surprisingly good for a perfume oil. Would repurchase.
