As a long time user of Clarins all I can say is that this is the best serum of any type I have ever used. I am in the Restorative line for women in their fifties, and use the Vital Light Day and Night creams; as well as the Restorative Day Cream without SPF, which I use alternately. The creams are the best; but with the added serum underneath I am really getting the full benefit and treatment of moisture. You use a portion the size of a small hazelnut (without the shell) all over your face, and then apply your moisturizing cream. I tend to use mine at night when sleeping, as the benefits are greater then. Your skin is at work repairing and feeding skin.

The only downside is the price. It is very expensive and you don't get a lot. But saving for it is not hard, and you get probably three to four months' worth of product, depending upon how you use it. Twice a day would use it up faster, of course. I have been known to use it more often as I feel my skin needs it, but always at night. It has a heavenly scent which dissipates soon after application.

Highly recommended.

I had a really negative experience on my skin from using EL ANR, and decided to try a few things from Clarins to bring back balance to my skin. I have used it for 2 days and I all I can say is WOW! My hubby keeps staring at me saying how radiant my skin looks and he doesn't even know I am using a new product. I love the texture of this lotion, which to me feels like a gel/lotion combination. I use this after I cleanse in the a.m., and after I use any "target problem" products. It smells divine, like peaches, but the smell fades fairly quickly. I usually have deal breaker issues with products that have a scent, so I am pleased that this has not caused eye irritations, or skin reactions. Love this product, I think it is a fair price for the amount you use and size of bottle.

A fantastic range - I use the serum, night and day creams and the wake up lotion. Keeps my skin supple and looking and feeling good. I live in sunny Sri Lanka and there's a lot of humidity. My skin tends to dry up but responds beautifully to this range.

I got this as a combo pack with the day cream. First of all, I live in cold Canada, and I use this in winter, so my review of this product is "climate-sensitive" and that if you live in warm location like Florida, my review may not be relevant.

As a serum, it does it job, which says much more than many other name brands. It is absorbed in very quickly and I have a light glow to my skin. Mind you that I use this together with the day cream so I don't know what is doing what to my skin (though I am sure the serum is NOT doing the moisturing part). All in all, high price and high return. If you are really short of cash, just buy the La Mer cream and skip this. Otherwise, buy this to use with whatever cream you use.

This really is designed for skin over 40. It contains vegetal based isoflavones, antioxidants and skin brighteners. I noticed no change in my skin radiance, skin tone or reduction in wrinkles from using this product. The serum is more like a lotion than a serum. It has a light scent that fades. Product absorbs easily into skin and is an effective, albeit, basic moisturizer.

Bought the whole SR line and at first I was happy with it but now I am not even sure if it's doing anything at all. The serum doesn't last long, half way through it already and for that price I won't be repurchasing. Back to finding my HG serum.

As some body said here in a review, this product should not be used by a young skin, as many ingredients would be wasted.
Fact is, I am in my early 30’s and I have used both the Serum and the Night cream of this line. It is expensive, but I did not buy it myself – I use many different Clarins products and I always choose carefully the product closer to my age range. I won this set (Serum + Night Cream) in a magazine beauty contest and I decided to use it – rather than to give it right away to my Mom (it should be indeed a line suitable to her age) – just because of the…smell! Yes… it smelled divine and I decided to try it.
I thought to myself: ”if this is too heavy/greasy/breaks me out, I will give it to mother”. And that’s for the cream, that I never gave to Mum as I finished myself alone! :o)!
The serum is even better: it has the same delicate scent, and lighter texture (its’ a serum, indeed), get into the skin soaking immediately and I could use it in the morning under my foundation, in winter.
It never broke me out, I was never greasy, it was instantly absorbed. In a word: I truly enjoyed this serum.
It is indeed expensive (some 90 Euros for a 30ml bottle), but this is an excellent product, and for sure I can recommend it (I have started also offering it as a present to my Mum!!) :o)

I love this product but it is for occasional use only....when skin is stressed/dry/flaring up. I've used this after pregnancies/ illness, generally at times when my skin's not been at it's best. Only need a few drops. Can be used day or night, under moisturiser/make-up or alone. Pretty versatile really. Price is a bit steep but the smell is lovely. Minty and refreshing. Would recommend to those who need a skin pick me up or some TLC....

This review actually covers the entire Super Restorative range - serum, night cream, day cream and eye cream. Overcome with guilt when thinking about the obscene amounts of money I've been spending on top of the line hideously expensive skin creams from Kanebo (La Creme), La Mer, Guerlain (Orchidee) La Prairie (fab), etc. I thought that perhaps the time had come to find something cheaper and hopefully just as effective. Starting at the bottom I tried and almost immediately discarded the hideous products from L'Oreal, Nivea, Garnier, Olay etc. (Pity, because this is the ideal way for me to buy skin care. I just take them off the supermarket shelf, toss them into the trolley and at the till, my beloved husband pays for all the 'groceries' skin care included - every gal's dream come true, free cosmetics - hah I should be so lucky!) Next step was to try some middle of the range skin care but choices were limited, I hate the horrid Lancome products, am allergic to most of Lauder's skincare, don't find Arden anything to write home about and would sooner die than use Revlon (sorry, I have to admit, I am a snob. not that Revlon's up to much anyway!). Tried some Roc samples - don't know who their 'promises' are aimed at but it certainly wasn't me! Okay, Clarins is a nice range I thought, and not too pricey either. I used some of their products years ago and they weren't bad so I went and got samples of the entire Super Restorative Range. Went home and tried them out. I could not believe my eyes. Overnight, my lovely pampered skin aged about twenty years! Instead of the lovely glowing pale porcelain skin that greets me in the morning, I stared in horror at tired, grey, dried out, droopy skin , jowls that literally appeared overnight, and wrinkles I never even knew I had! How anyone can use this horrible stuff on their skin is beyond me, I binned all the samples there and then and headed for the La Prairie counter! I'd only recommend the Clarins Super Restorative range to somebody who WANTS to look twice their age! For the rest of us, who care about our appearance, there's got to be better reasonably priced stuff out there - sigh - the search continues!

I'm a little bewildered that anyone younger than 40 would be using this product...actually, anyone younger than 50. It just kinda doesn't make sense. It's for mature, estrogen-starved skin. And it costs way too much to waste all the isoflavones that aren't going to do a thing for young skin. However, Clarins isn't going to object, I guess, as they would never turn away a sale, even if inappropriate. Yes, this is remarkable for older skin. And as stupid expensive as most Clarin's products are, I'd still pay for it again. I find plant extracts very compelling, and feel safe with them. Even if they don't work as well as botox and peels, I like the idea of 'plants' on my skin. (and if added TO botox and peels, even better.) So, to older women like myself, who don't relish looking old, this is a wonderful product, and I recommend it wholeheartedly.

This is another expensive product that claims a lot, & seems very mysterious in its claims. It does help your moisturizer work better, I suppose. But I don't need that except in winter. I've used this all winter long, and have not noticed looking any younger, altho the bottle is almost gone. (But hey, who knows what kind of troll I might appear if I hadn't used it?) Seriously, it produced no miraculous or even semi-wondrous results on me. I probably have great skin FMA, and it is supposed to be for women like me, not 30-somethings. I'm older than most people here could imagine being, but for results, I'd go for an excellent sunscreen instead of these products aimed at getting boomers' money. Sleep works better, too.

I've recently started to use Clarins products again after many years of using many other high-end brands. I'm now 42 and was given a sample of this serum and have to say I am completely hooked.

I have pretty good skin for my age anyway, but this serum, together with the Restorative Cream has made my face flawless. The fine lines (and odd wrinkle) seem to have disappeared and lots of friends have commented on how well I look! What more could you ask for?!

It is fairly expensive, but not much more so than the firming range, and quite a bit cheaper than the other anti-aging ranges I had been using.

I use this with both Super Restorative Day Cream and SPF version. It calms soothes and definately adds that extra moisture my seriously dehydrated skin needs. You need just a bit of the serum- I use 1-2 pumps and pat all over face and neck. Smell wonderful and I've never had a reaction or pimples from this product and I have very reactive dry skin. I do agree though that an air pump might work better with this product. The last little bit is hard to get out. Other than that, this is always in my cabinet and daily routine... wonderful for dry skin!

I love this product too. My only complaint (besides the sky-high price) is the packaging. Because the bottle's opaque, you suddenly run out of product with no warning. When this happened to me recently, I took the bottle apart and found I have at least another week's worth of product. (By the way, you can find some great deals on this product on Ebay.)

Had to update my review & downgrade this product. At 1st my acne proned skin seemed clearer but after a few weeks my skin was back to it's old self or worse. Also after using the entire bottle there was absolutely 0% reduction in any of my facial lines (for $115+ an ounce I would expect more). I have since started using Merle Norman Wrinkle Smoother & at $49 for over 2oz. The Merle Norman has actually reduced my lines.

Based upon reviews from other MUAers, I purchased the Super Restorative Serum and eye concentrate at Saks last week. SA was very helpful and steered me in the right direction. I'm so pleased with both products! Non greasy/heavy...I feel like my skin can actually breathe, which is not the case with many other serums I've tried. Also, delivery is excellent...both are pumps (and pretty red ones, at that!) :>)

I had been using the Total Double Serum and the Contouring Facial Lift since April 2003. But when the new Super Restorative Serum came on the market, I started using it in the morning in place of the Total Double Serum. I still use Total in the evenings. I have found that the Super Restorative Serum for us ladies who are experiencing natural hormonal changes due to the aging process does a much better job of evening out the tones of my skin, firming, preventing lines, illunimating my skin, evening the dry/oily patchs on my skin than anything I had ever tried. I am 57 and look 10 years younger because of the Clarins products. I have since added Super Restorative Day Cream and Super Restorative Night Cream to my regimen replacing the Extra Firming Day and Night Creams. I has a 5-star rating with me.
