Pros
-----------------------
-Buttery consistency
-Nicely pigmented
-Lasts for a long time
-Had it for a year and I'm still not done with it

Cons
----------------------
-Taupe's too light for my brunette hair. If you are going for a strong brow, I wouldn't go for this color
-Pretty pricey for brow makeup in my opinion
-There isn't enough wax to keep up with the powder's pigmentation. I've used up almost all my wax and half of my powder.

Why I'm on the fence
----------------------------
Sure the number of pros outweigh the cons, but I can't say that i'm absolutely in love with this product. First of all, the wax issue bugs the heck out of me. I have pretty dark brows and hardly need any powder in the first place. It sort of disappointed me when I hit pan on the wax, since quite truthfully I didn't use a lot of wax either! I've only used it once or twice a week at most. That being said, I absolutely love the pigmentation and consistency. It's not chalky or powdery at all. It's also very long lasting when applied with the wax.

Would i buy this for 25 bucks? Naw. I say buy a matte brown eyeshadow and pair it with a brow gel/wax/pencil. Will the result be as smooth and buttery as smash box? Probably not, but it'll be pretty freaking darn close. Currently, I'm pairing Rimmel's hazel brow pencil with revlon's matte eyeshadow in brown and it's working wonders as well!

Love this, makes my eyebrow look perfect and matte.
Make sure to blend well, or this could look a little harsh..

Use with a angled liner brush, (mac 263)

Oh my god, I love this! A brow pencil is not practical for me because I got my dad's insane and thick eyebrows that I have to pluck everyday. So when the lady at the salon messes up on my brows, I use powder and this particular one is truly the best! It stays the whole day and I don't look like I have sharpie brows after application. I don't have much to say about the wax, but it is still a great product for those with thick, dark brows like me.

BEST BROW KIT EVER! I love the blonde. Perfect shade for defining without giving overly dramatic brows. The setting wax is key.

I love this product, it is a all-in-one. I wasn't sure if I should get brunette or dark brown when I was at Ulta, but I ended up getting dark brown since I dye my hair black. There are plenty of methods of applying the brow tech, and I found two methods that work best. First, I like to warm up the wax with my finger and apply, Then I take an angled brush with the darker color and outline the lower portion of my brows (from inner to the outer tail of my brows). Since my brows are sparse and thin, I actually have to fill in the whole brow. Then I take the lighter color and fill in the whole brow and blend in the harsh line I drew. The second method I also use is taking a eyebrow brush and dipping it into the wax and the applying the wax in the opposite direction of hair growth. This way you can see what you need to fill in. I apply the light color first into the spare areas. Then, I use the darker powder to draw the line at the base. I fill it in some more with the light powder to get rid of the harsh line. The outcome is sculpted brows without the harshness of pencil (hello chola eyebrows, I'm talking to you...) The sceond method works just as fine as the first, and the results are tattoo looking eyebrows. The wax helps with the hair when you're in dire need for a eyebrow pluck or thread. It keeps the hairs down and make it seem less noticable. For me, the dark brown is not too harsh even when my black hair dye starts to fade out of my hair. I simply can not live without this.

i am reviewing the Brow Tech in 'Dark Brown'. my one also has half a segment with two browns, a taupey one and a dark chocolatey one, and a half segment with wax. it's the 3rd picture in the images at the moment.
this is my 1st ever Smashbox product, and so far, i am very impressed! the way i use this at the moment, is i dip an angled brush (i like the ecotools one or the Real Techniques one if anyone's curious) into the wax, then i dip the brush into the darker brown to create basically a DIY dark mixture. i fill in the bulk thickness of my eyebrows with this, then i go into the lighter brown powder and just use this to fill in my eyebrows completely. so this is where i would fill in more the start of my eyebrows and any curves. this way it all looks more dimensional and more bled out and shaped. i also like finishing off with powder because it sets the wax. this way, my eyebrows stay perfect all day long.
so now that i've shared that, i want to get on to why i really love this a lot. for years i always used a dark eyebrow pencil, and brushed it out with a built in brush, cleaned up around the eyebrows with concealer, then applied clear mascara. this product saves me ALL of those steps, and makes my eyebrows look a million times more shapely and defined. my whole face and my make-up looks more polished now. i underestimated the importance of brows.
i think what makes this such a great product is the great colour pigmentation, the handy effectiveness of the wax and the variety of the two colours to give you a more personally tailored combination.
now on to some cons: this is nearly £20! and it's ABSOLUTELY tiny. this lost a point in packaging for me. i think personally, that's very poor value for money. i would only repurchase this item if i find nothing that outperforms this, and i would definitely keep repurchasing this if it was a more reasonable size. i chose 'Yes'.
overall an excellent product!

This brow powder is amazing. It goes on well, makes my eyebrows look soft and natural. I've tried pencils before and those just made my eye brows look obviously filled in. The pod lasts for a long time! Although, I don't really use the wax. I feel like I don't need it.

I absolutely love this product because you can mix both colors to get the perfect colored brow and has the wax available in such a convenient package for on the go. I got the shade brunette and is perfect for my hair/skin color. I used pencil before but was quite noticeable even though was "my color", and when I used a shadow by Bobbi Brown I felt it was too dark. I will definitely re purchase.

I brought this in a quad form in Brunette. I absolutely love this! I'm almost out of it, and most certainly will be repurchasing again and again, unless off course they decide to discontinue it.
The brunette shade is absolute perfect for my black hair, and tan complexion. It always give me that 'Camilla Belle' sort of brows which I love because it bold yet youthful!
No red hue, it is very pigmented. Last all day, I don't even use the wax with it.

I like the concept of this. The wax is great but the powder is expensive considering how much product you get! I found a dupe in Bobbi Brown’s eyeshadow in Sable which does the exact same job as brow tech in brunette! Now, I buy the wax pot separately and use Bobbi Browns eyeshadow in sable to fill in my brows! So won’t repurchase

I love this product. I have it in dark brown and comes with 2 colors taupe and dark brown plus the wax. I was using Anastasia's and there is no much difference between both . This is a type of product that the brush or applicator used and the skills of the person will be more important than any brand chosen.
PROS.- All in one package, ideal for traveling. 2 colors, soft texture, silky. Stays put
CONS.- Don't see any yet
TIPS.- Teams up great with Smashobox #12 double ended brow brush.
Use the light powder to fill up the brows , go light handed on the ends near the nose bridge. Underline with the darker powder along the lower arc of the brow closer to the eye to define. Start brushing upwards the dark brown underline following the direction of the hair. Now define the upper arc of the brow with a fine line of the dark brown powder. Comb brows with spooly small sturdy brush to blend colors and to soften to a natural look. Apply wax lightly

This was my first time working with brow powder as opposed to pencil and it gave me nice results. My hair is a dirty brown but my eyebrow hair is black so I always hesitate with dark powders - I don't want the brows to be too stark. I used 'brunette' for this powder/wax set and it was a decent enough color match.

The only con was the packaging. I hate having the wax right next to the powder. Over time the wax got so much powder in it - it became messy and gross. yuck.

I now use Anastasia brow powder - it comes with two colors (darker and lighter) and no wax. I like it much better and will stick with that over Smashbox.

Have this in the shade Blonde. It came with a wax and two quite ash blonde tones which match my brows and hair perfectly. I have a lot of brow products because they are the one part of my face that I play with daily. This is the one that I reach for most frequently.

The wax is a really nice consistency. It's not stiff so it doesn't change the point of and angle brush and you can use just a little to coat all of the necessary parts of the brow. I loove the fact that it's not tinted. Only because a tinted wax is almost universally done in a warm shade and I like to keep things naturally ashy.

The powders: Like the fact that there's two very complimentary shades instead of one for dark hair and one for light hair like I've found in many products. They are really finely milled and don't look like powder in your brows. They will seal up if you use the same brush for the wax and the powder but I have plenty of brushes so I find that easy to avoid. I use the darker of the two shades through the back of my brows and in any sparsely haired places and the lighter shade through the fuller front of my brows. This gives an extremely even look under both natural and artificial light.

Only complaint is that this compact is tiny. The whole thing, lid included, is about the size of an AUD 10c piece. The three product pans together wouldn't be much larger than an AUD 5c. The wax side is an OK size I guess - but I'm relieved to hear that you can buy the wax separately because I can see it running out kinda soon. The powder pans are only a quarter of the compact though and some larger brow brushes - like the real techniques brow brush, which I love to use - barely fit. Don't quite understand what the benefit of such a tiny compact was supposed to be - the guy who sold it to me had no idea either. All I can think of is that it brings a nice increase to the profit margin.

Love everything about this product. Nicely defines my brows w/o that smoky effect some brow powders give. Lately I was getting tired of that & the horrible packaging of bare minerals. Love having the choice of two colors & i like the wax. gives a nice hold & subtle sheen. 2 thumbs up.

I am on my second brow tech, and nearing the end of it .. and yet again I am disappointed with it. Not with its performance however, more so its packaging. I find it super easy to use, and it is very natural looking but when the powder is almost empty is always flakes into a million pieces! And I end up having to throw it away because its just impossible to use, and or gets all over my make up bag. Shame. I probably won't purchase again because it is quite pricey.

So, i bought the Smashbox brow tech and cream eye liner palette from sephora, and I love it. It comes with differet shades, so you can find the right one for your brows. I really like the powders. I like using the palette.

Very natural looking and the brow brush applicator is amazing-comes in a nice red color so it doesn't get lost in my makeup bag. A friend told me about this and I was skeptical--I have tried every brow product imaginable at different price points--pencils, powders for my thinned- from- chemo brows. Many would not last or were not the right color or looked like I painted on eyebrows in the sparse areas. The wax sets it and it lasts all day. Fantastic product.

Love the brow powder, hate the wax! I wish Smashbox would offer it in just the powder, instead of combining it with the wax that I absolutely abhor and refuse to use. I love the spectrum of colors that are available (any hair color should be able to find a match) and I love that the powder goes on so smoothly with any angled brow brush. The only thing that puts me off purchasing again is that half of the compact is filled with that nasty wax, so lately I've been using a soft brow pencil and blending out. Smashbox should take notice of what their loyal customers are requesting. Brow powder only please!! Wax seperate!
