I have been a forever fan of the Voluminous mascaras. They never seem to disappoint. This one being the first one I ever tried (years and years ago) I always seem to repurchase it out of them all. Now, it doesn't give my short lashes much length (not that it's suppose to) but it does give them a dark color, definition and some volume and with a few coats it gives a great look. Price is amazing! I am a mascara junkie (can't leave the house without it - so I go through the tube quite quickly) so it doesn't hurt my wallet to repurchase this gold gem.

I purchased this mascara due to the glowing review by makeupbytiffanyd on youtube. The formula is very clumpy, dry, and thick making application extremely difficult. Left my lashes looking short and chunky with no definition or length. Within a few minutes this actually started to flake off and just looked absolutely disgusting. At first I thought maybe I just purchased a bad tube, but reading others reviews this seems to happen quite a bit.

I wouldn't say it's the best. I didn't have too much clumping, some flaking. It gave me decent volume and lengthening .Though I really hate that I can barely wash this off!

This is mediocre but not terrible. Not dramatic but not quite natural looking, a little lumpy and a little flaky. Slightly buildable but overall kind of blah. With a few coats it looks ok, but there are much better options by Rimmel and Maybelline.

I love this mascara! It makes my lashes very defined and voluminous and despite how wet the formula is I have no problems with smudging. The only reason I didn't give it an overall rating of 5 was because of how difficult it is to remove.

I've been a fan of the Voluminous line for years now and this one might be favorite. It gives my lashes a more natural looking boost - very pretty and dark. I don't think it adds definition exactly but it gives more weight without clumps, so that my lashes are more noticeable without screaming 'makeup'. It lasts all day without any raccoon eyes and doesn't bother my super sensitive eyes either.

This is my first L'Oreal mascara I have tried, normally when I buy drug store mascara I always buy Maybelline. However, any of the Maybelline mascaras' I have used within the last two years I have been disappointed with, and I cannot always buy high-end mascara on my college student budget. The pros: I love the way this mascara 'glides' on to my lashes w/o any clumping, never any flaking nor smudging during the day. Gives my lashes length even though it is a volumizing mascara. And the price is under $5 USD where I live. Cons: The stopper that keeps the mascara in the tube, sometimes lets too much product come out of the tube. I also like that I can have very natural lashes for day and amped up for going out/the Holiday season.
Many of my friends and family have asked "what mascara are you using?" And I usually do not receive comments on my lashes, even when buying a $20-$30 dollar mascara.

A lot of people complain about this mascara, and before I go any further into this review, I just want to mention that I have long lashes already. OKAY. In the past, I've used Maybelline and Covergirl mascaras only (Lash Blast, Illegal Length, Mega Plush...) and those have been hit & miss with me. This product can be a little clumpy, but it's nothing a quick comb-through after applying can't fix. It really lengthens my lashes & separates them nicely. It's doesn't make my lashes look thicker, but I can live with that because it makes them look natural, which is what I wanted. But if you have sparse lashes, this is definitely not for you.

makeupbytiffanyd raved about this but sadly i am very disappointed! at first i thought i had a bad one but apparently lots of reviews say its clumpy and gunky and i have to agree! formulation is dry thick and clumpy makes it look like my lashes are flaking off, like small little clumps on my lashes, not attractive to look at. it is very dark but thats the only plus side i can think of. also weighs down my lashes. not a fan! i saw that some ppl compared this to maybelline soft and full but no! i dont agree! this is much thicker and not natural looking at all.

goes on thick, hard to comb out. too much fuss. stick with original voluminous or full and soft.

I picked this up from the drugstore clearance rack. I am always on the hunt for a new volumizing mascara. My first impression upon taking the tube from the package is that it feels light, like an empty tube of mascara. I can't be sure if the tube itself is thinner than most or if the volume is less, as I can't read the bottom sticker well. The wand was average and after 2 coats, my lashes looked only slightly more plush. It's not terribly dark black and overall is just an average mascara.

I love the original Voluminous formula so I assumed this would be a more natural version. I was wrong! I don't mind wiping the mascara wand before use (I do that with Voluminous) but I was hoping that the stopper would be better at avoiding so much product on the wand. With one application, it already looks clumpy (despite wiping it) and gives very little length/fullness. I will stick with my Maybelline Full n Soft for a natural, everyday look.

i like this mascara alot. it reminds me of maybelline full n soft but i feel that this makes my lashes feel softer. its also easier to remove than full n soft. it can get a little clumpy but its not that bad. it makes my lashes look really natural and full and pretty. i really really like it.

The effect this mascara has on my lashes is good-- volumized yet still long, but it smudges way too easily. And when it does smudge, it takes a lot of effort to get off if you don't have makeup remover. The packaging is pretty and the colors are nice, but the smudgyness really bothers me. I wont be repurchasing!

Love this mascara...once I scrape off the excess mascara on the sides of the tube and then roll the wand in a paper towel, essentially removing about 90% of the mascara! Such an enormous waste of product when L'oreal can at least make a smaller stopper at the top of the tube that will help the wand come out less gunky. Complaints aside, once all that work is done, this mascara gives my lashes a nice and soft voluminous look without taking the curl out of my lashes. I would buy again.

Hated this Mascara. Comes clumpy straight out the tube. Takes foreve to clean off. It does work well after a few weeks but really who wants to wait that long and who wants to work so hard for mascara? Not this girl =)

Sorry L'oreal this is the first mascara i bought and i was VERY disappointed. I have flat eyelashes the are very stubborn and weird just after one use of this mascara it blocked my eye sight my eyelashes were all in my eyes. I think i should get the original voluminous carbon black waterproof so it can hold a curl because i heard that one was good. But this mascara sucked no definition whats so ever:(

Threw it away a week after buying. A clumpy, gloppy mess. I didn't see any definition at all, and it smeared under my eyes. Love the original Voluminous in gray tube, but this stuff was awful. Better off not wearing mascara, IMHO.

I'm not sure what L'Oreal's definition of "definition" is, but it sure isn't the same as mine. Holy spider lashes! Guess that's what I get for not consulting MUA reviews before purchasing.
