This is definitely a MLBB shade! My lips are naturally brown-pink with a hint of mauve when it's cold out. I thought this looked too dark in the tube but it's quite pretty on, and it's a lustre finish which is a plus. I got Brave before this and I prefer the color because it's a tad pinker, but sadly it's too drying on me. I wish they had that one in a lustre but midimauve is the next best thing!

This lipstick is just boring. I really tried to make it work, pairing it with different lip glosses, but it didn't do anything for me. First, the description on the mac website is a bit misleading. This is not a "rosy mauve with pearl." Rather, It's a brownish-plum with a hint of red. I'm NW 50, and this looked like dark pinkish-brown on me. It wasn't bad-looking, just nothing spectacular. Also, although this is supposed to be a lustre finish, it felt more like a satin to me. It was a bit more opaque than I expected. I think this could look beautiful on other skin tones, especially olive. For me, it was just bland. I returned it.

Great neutral mauve lipstick that matches perfectly with MAC's Whirl lip liner. Not over the top luster, just a your-lips-but-better color on me. For reference I'm NC30-NC35, black hair and brown eyes. A great go to if you want lipstick but also want to look effortlessly put together.

I am a blue eyed NW10 (NW20 when tanning from a bottle).
this lipstick looks like a very pretty mauve in the tube, but applies kind of brownish plum. Eh, it's ok but not a necessary addition to any collection.

I'm NC20ish, brunette, light brown eyes. My lips are very pigmented, dark pink. I bought Midimauve to use for my wedding and I think it was the perfect "blushing bride" shade. I wanted something natural and rosy, but not too pink, and I definitely didn't want anything paler than my natural lips. Midimauve has enough warmth to tone down the blueness of my lips, without pulling orange or brown. It's like the perfect plummy MLBB shade and it photographed really well (very natural). It's not very long lasting, which would be my only complaint. I think this would work on a variety of skintones.

I am pale, NC15 and I always have a hard time finding a nice, barely-there lipstick shade. My lips tend to pull the brown from lots of lipsticks. When the SA tried to get me to try this, I thought I'd hate it. Mauve? In a lipstick?! You mean that purplish color? I am so glad I tried it on though. It gives me a little extra oomph without being "WOW, LIPSTICK" like most lip colors.

This shade is flattering but a bit boring. It looks mauve in the tube, which I was very excited about. But when I put it on, it is more of a generic sheer brownish nude that you could buy just about anywhere. I will probably finish this tube, but I wouldn't repurchase, as it is nothing special.

This lipstick is a must-have! It's a gorgeous mid-brown colour, with a slight mauve undertone. It lasts forever on my lips, definitely one of the best products I have tried for staying power.
It also has a lustre finish aswell, my favourite!

Similar to rubia lipstick, but more natural looking, Kinda like viva glam v without the huge glitter look. Sleek & somewhat shiny give a dewy soft lip. Love it, will be up to buy another soon, goes great with my nc25 complexion.

I got this for Back 2 MAC but I will repurchase for a long time in the future. Before this lipstick, I didn't think I could ever find a lipstick that would look good and feel good on my lips.
I am NC15, yellow-peach undertones with rosacea. I have deeply pigmented lips on the dark fuscia side. I know, it's odd. This lipstick looks perfect on my lips as a natural lipstick. It is moisturizing at first but sets after a while (giving me cause to reapply, which I do constantly during the day as I remove my lipstick before eating or drinking). My lips, naturally, are very flaky and I have snakebite piercings. This formula stays and gives the perfect amount of pigmentation.

I ordered this based off of a recommendation from the SA at my Mac counter. I'm a huge fan of Hug Me and I was looking for something a notch darker.
This is perfect. You HAVE to get this if you love Hug Me. The only thing I don't like is the wear time (annoying thing about the lustre finish)

I have seen some beautiful pictures of Midimauve here on MUA. On many people, it looks like a pinky mauve. This is how it is described in some of the reviews as well. So, when an online MAC artist recently recommended it to me, I ordered it sight unseen. Of course, there is always a risk doing that. I am very fair (BB Alabaster) with pink undertones, brown eyes, and light brown hair that is highlighted. My lips, however, are actually pretty pigmented on their own. On me, Midimauve looks completely blah. It does not show up pinky on me at all. Instead, it is a very neutral, very natural mauvey brown. It does not make me look ugly, dead, or dirty like browns often can, but it also does not enhance my appearance in any way whatsoever. The formula, quality, application, etc, are like all MAC Lustre lipsticks, but this color simply isn't for me. If you find it difficult to pull off lippies with a hint of brown, then this most likely will not work for you.

I just bought this today and I'm loving this color so far! I usually have a hard time with neutrals but love this one. It is a classy, everyday color that's not too overwhelming. I actually like the Lustre finish. Before getting this color I had tried Mac's Twig, which I really liked, but found very drying on my lips. For me this Lustre finish is better for my lips, but if you like more highly pigmented coverage (or are looking for a more long lasting lipstick) I'd agree that you're better off with a more matte finish.

This is by far my favorite everyday lipstick color. It is a gorgeous, soft pink/mauve color that isn't too overbearing. The lustre formula also gives my lips a perfect shine and does not dry them at all. The only reason why I give this product a four instead of a five is due to the fact that I need more than a few swipes of this on my lips to get the exact color I want. Other than that, this is my favorite!

This is the most PERFECT lipstick I have ever found. Midimauve is a truly neutral deeper nude MLBB brownish mauve with soft pearl. A lot of people think of light lilac, greyish or lavender tones when they think of mauve, which this doesn't have. The mauve tones are darker and softer, and really natural looking. This color is kind of like a nude plummy pink, and it goes with almost everything. I like MAC's Lustre formula, even though it's a little drying. It's smooth and quite long-lasting for a glossier lipstick. This looks gorgeous with Beurre cremestick liner. I'm NC35-40 with golden/ light honey blonde hair.

OMG this is my HG lipcolor. Bought it about a week ago and have worn it every day since. It is MLBB for me and a great everyday look. Will definitely repurchase. I am NC20, and on me this is a gorgeous mauve/brown.

I think that this color would look super nice on someone with a different color complexion than me. I like how it looks on me when lightly applied (good to wear to my office job), but when too much is applied it's just way too dark for me (I have pretty fair skin, but I do tan in the summer). I gave it a 4 because I know it would look great on someone else. It's pretty pricey (everything from MAC is) but it does have staying power (not as good as their lip glosses, though). Whenever I get back to MAC, I would like to get a color that has a more pinkish tone and a less brown one.
