This is my HG shampoo, I've been using it for 8 years. I highly recommned trying Jessicurl Hair Cleansing Cream if you have problems with madly dry frizzies but don't want to go no-poo.

I have super duper dry hair. This does not strip it. I still have frizzies for a couple days after using it, but they aren't too bad. I don't use it daily, but then my hair doesn't need shampoo daily. I buy the unscented version. That doesn't mean it has no smell, just no added perfume, fragrance or essential oils.

It is not strong enough to wash my hair if it's filthy. For example, if I put bug spray in my hair, swim in a chlorinated pool, or spend hours in the ocean. I use Kinky Curly Come Clean in those situations. Come Clean strips my hair a little, but not as badly as other stronger shampoos.

I've tried DevaCurl shampoo once. It seemed similar to the Jessicurl but the scent made me feel ill.

Jessicurl is no good if you have oily hair, using it is worse than using nothing at all for oily hair.

Giving this an "eh" as it's ok but didn't wow me. It cleans but that's about it. Offered unscented is a great option. I love what I'm using now but if for some reason I couldn't get it, I'd buy this one. No bells or whistles, just a basic no-poo cleanser.

I've been using this for several years and love it. I tried Co-washing and cleansing conditioners but could never get used to my hair not feeling clean. This shampoo is super gentle and moisturizing yet my hair feels clean. I'm having issues with fragrance (used Aveda Smooth Infusion and it made my scalp itchy) so I'm glad I can order this in unscented. It does have a faint Earthy smell from the ingredients but it's very faint. I use this with Too Shea! or the Deep Conditioner. I'm somewhere between 2A and 3A, fine hair but lots of it with more defined curl on the top and sides than the back.

This is probably the best sulfate-free shampoo I have tried yet. I have hair that is highlighted, long and dry and this is nice and moisturizing. My scalp is also sensitive and this doesn't irritate it at all. I would buy again but Jessicurl is very hard to obtain in the UK now and very expensive when it is (the standard size of this cost £11.95).

Edit 6/10~I returned to this after my experiment with Devacare LowPoo~my hair definitely needs the moisture this provides...I just need to be vigilant in cleansing my neck/back after using this and the Too Shea Conditioner. I've also used the Jessicurl Gentle Lather Shampoo, which is good for a bit more cleansing power, while still not drying out the hair.~end
I really liked this for a time, and used it regularly, but have found the ingredients too rich at times and alas gives me acne on my normally clear neck and arms, even though I wash my body afterward. Very pricey when you add in shipping. I have switched to DevaCare.

Maybe this review is unfair because it might just not be suiting my hair type? It left my hair feeling greasy and it was very hard to distribute evenly without using up half the bottle (very thick consistency). I have very dry, thick and curly hair and I thought this would be just the thing for it but it was a bit OTT for my hair. I probably need something less heavy. I really like Jessicurls styling products Rocking Ringlets and Confident Coils Styling Solution so there's really nothing wrong with the quality of Jessicurl products, just as long as you find a match for your hair type.

I keep coming back to to this shampoo and it has not let me down!

I've been using it almost continuously for the past 2 1/2 years. It's gentle, moisturizing and leaves my curly hair feeling completely hydrated, even in different seasons and locales. I prefer the clean Citrus Lavender scent, but the Island Fantasy scent is nice too.

I was able to swap for Jessicurl Hair Cleansing Cream but I was really disappointing. I have used Devacurl No Poo and Wen Cleansing Conditioner so I am used to the concept of cleansing without shampoo but this one did not work for me. I just didn't get good results. My hair was still dirty and felt coated (and I was using Jessicurl styling products as well which I do like). Also, I did not care for the smell at all. I'd much rather use Devacurl or Wen. I tossed this in the trash.

This poo is great for my hair & even better when paired w/the Too Shea dish. Really leaves my hair soft. This stuff is different from other poo's ive used. Its just runny & it seems like it takes more to use but I still think its worth it since my hair loves it. Will repurchase.

Nice cone free & sulfate free shampoo. I used this with Too Shea conditioner. I was reordering the WDT so I decided to add this & the Too Shea in trial sizes to my order (10% off + $5 shipping rocks). My hair was left sleek, soft & moisturized without tangles. I could actually run my hands through my hair after using this BEFORE conditioner. 1 lippy off because it's not a cream- more of a runny liquid. I was expecting this to be much thicker. Since it's sulfate free I did have to use a lot. Not sure if I'd order again, maybe if I was already going to reorder the WDT.

The name of this product is misleading, so I find that frustrating. It's not a cream at all (which I consider to be a thick opaque substance). It is a clear runny liquid. It's hard to distribute in your palms/hair without spilling some of it, since it's so thin. I like the fact that it is very gentle. I don't require lather in a cleanser, but for me the problem is that this is so unlathery that it's hard to spread through your hair/massage into the scalp without using a ton of it. (I only wash every 2-3 days, so I think that is why I don't get any lather with this. If your hair is still quite dry/clean when you wash, you may get more lather.) I would rather CO wash or use a different gentle cleanser, so I don't think I will repurchase this.

I recently ordered a sample of this from Jessicurl. It's very very gentle, and really doesn't produce much of a lather, even if I repeat the cleansing process. (So if you like lathering shampoos, this definitely isn't for you - however, I must admit, I only wash my hair every 3-4 days or so, so that may be why) It seems to clean my scalp fairly well, but I do have to use a bit more since I have pretty thick (and wavy) hair. It is runny and the consistency reminds me of egg white, not really a cream like the name implies, but overall it cleans and leaves my hair soft and moisturized. I even used it once without conditioner afterward and my hair was pretty easy to comb though, not typical for me. I love the Citrus Lavender scent and plan on reordering. I just wish is wasn't so pricey, but I am so particular about scents and love this one! Overall, a good, very gentle, sulfate free shampoo.

I'm loving this so far - very gently cleans my scalp without causing tangles. Better than MHC in my opinion, as it is thicker and doesn't rough up my hair. Might be too heavy for daily use, but it keeps me smooth and soft without feeling like it prevents my conditioners from soaking in. I had this problem with Creme of Nature; every time I shampooed I felt like my hair was so coated that the conditioners couldn't penetrate my strands.

Works well with Jessicurl WDT, and I'm sure it would work well with Too Shea also.

EDIT: This breaks me out and builds up quickly... Won't repurchase.

While I'm not blown away by it, this is a gentle, very moisturizing sulfate-free shampoo that seems to work ok on my Type 2A (i.e., not curly), fine hair. A few negatives: this doesn't always lather well or spread easily through the hair and you have to use a lot to get your hair clean; the consistency is a bit goopy, like egg whites; and it might just be a tad too heavy for daily use on my hair type. Overall, I'd say it's good, but not great. If your hair is very coarse and thick, this might work very well for you. For sulfate-free, I prefer Terax or Fresh Milk & Rose. The Jessicurl conditioners are nice though.

Loved it and have used it for ages, however am going to try a different Jesiscurl shampoo as i find that this is too gentle for my hair and i have to use too much product. My hair isn't that thick but there is lots of it, this would be perfect for natually thin hair.

Unfortunately, Jessicurl's Hair Cleansing Cream leaves my hair feeling both heavy and dry at the same time. Too bad, as the main surfactant, decyl polyglucoside, can be a gentle cleanser and I dig on the light, clean Citrus Lavender Scent.

I liked this shampoo better than the gentle lather shampoo. It did not kather very well but who cares since it cleaned well and left my hair so soft and in great condition. I only use light conditioners so this was the perfect shampoo for me.

I have only used it 3 times since it was a sample pack so I need to get me some more asap.

This is gentle but effective, and I only have to use a teensy bit. Hair feels good afterwards before conditioner, too. A little pricey though. Just FYI - this is not a "cream" at all, it is a thin liquid & it lathers.
