I used to use MB seaweed cleanser -- loved the smell but found that it didn’t remove all my makeup despite its claims.

I started using the orange cleansing soap and will not go back.

It removes my makeup *even my super waterproof mascara*

It’s gentle.

I definitely agree with one reviewer about it smelling faintly crayon like -- it reminds me of a cross between a creamsicle and a crayon for sure.

But it’s gentle, effective and really reasonably priced.

This is a great everyday cleanser. I use it at night and massage it on the face. It's gentle but cleanses well. I love it that it doesn't dry my skin out but doesn't leave my face greasy either. The packaging is great. There's no fuss with lid and squeezed out easily. I hate it when I find good products with lousy packaging. The price is very reasonable. will definitely buy this again.

I was pleasantly surprised by this cleanser. I have generally dry skin that can flake sometimes in the morning and wanted an everyday cleanser that wouldn't leave me any dryer. This left my skin smooth, clean and wasn't drying at all. It's easy to control how much product you want with the squeeze bottle (I only need a pea size amount for my whole face) and it rinses off easily with water without leaving any oily residue behind. I've tried removing face makeup with this- works a treat. The orange scent seems artificial to me- but not off-putting. I will keep using this - its the best cleanser I've tried!

An excellent, reasonably priced daily cleanser that removes all makeup and tenacious European sunscreens from my dry, sensitive skin without overstripping it. Nice, natural orange scent, too.

Yes, I filled out the questionnaire at mariobadescu.com, and received this as a free sample. I assumed I'd use the sample, find it disappointing, and go back to testing the cleansing oils that are generally recommended for my Baumann DSPW skin. (Why was I experimenting at all? Well, I had yet to find a cleansing oil that rinsed clean without over-drying.) Instead, I fell in love. In. Love. I ordered a full bottle before the sample was done.

I use less than a dime's worth to cleanse my face and neck. It rinses absolutely cleanly, gets everything off, but never leaves my skin dry. Miraculous. In cleansing power, it is very like philosophy's Purity, but much less drying for me. I follow with the Alpha-Grapefruit Cleansing Lotion as a toner. Mario Badescu is old-school, three-step cleansing: Cleanser, toner, moisturizer.

What else? $12 for 8 ounces. It's packaged in an easy-to-squeeze plain plastic bottle with a dispenser cap. I love the no-frills look.

HG.

I like this. It's a simple, no-nonsense cleanser. I think I like it a little more than the Enzyme cleansing gel for an everyday cleanser. It seems to be gentle but still gets rids of makeup and dirt. Does not leave my face feeling dry afterward. Doesn't cause breakouts. The ingredients are ok, nothing special. I still use the glycolic cleanser a couple of times a week - these two are a good combo.

I'm doing a regimen kind of review since they all go together I think. I changed to the Orange Cleansing Soap from Dermalogica's UltraCalming Cleanser. I found the Dermalogica to still be too harsh for my face. I was also using the Smoothing Cream which made me sweat on my face (yuck), and made my face red (excacerbated my very slight rosacea into real redness). I used them for about a year until I got smart and wondered if it was the Dermalogica doing it to my face. Lo and behold! lol The moisture of them were ok, I had no problems with shiny skin or excess oil production but just couldn't get past the sweating and redness. If you like the moisture of these but are looking for a cheaper alternative that could work for you, try this:
The Orange is a pearlescent-colored creamy wash - it feels much creamier on your hand than it will wash off on your face - I tried it in the store - so if you're just rubbing it between your fingers, you're going to hate it. It washes away though and doesn't leave that oily film behind (like the MB Cleansing Milk- now THAT stuff is for dry skin though it does have mineral /Carnation oil in it. If you have really dry or mature skin (and can handle mineral/Carnation Oil) use the Cleansing Milk and the Buttermilk Moisturizer - i loved it but it was just too much moisture for my dry / combo skin).

The Orange Cleansing was easy to use (packaging), needed about a pea sized amount (or a touch more, but not a dime). It doesn't foam, but it does cleanse. It will leave a slight bit of ... something on your face - this is not a bad thing. It doesn't have any oil in it; it's not oily, it's very matte. I use the Seaweed toner to follow, although I may try the Chamomile once I'm done with Seaweed, and it's the perfect compliment. Hyaluronic Eye cream, a little goes a LONG way, I mean like a touch; and it sinks in nicely and looks good under makeup. For once, you couldn't see every line and wrinkle I had under my eyes, which are usually pronounced by concealer / makeup etc. (I also used the Hdrating Smashbox trial primer - like it!) Then, the Collegen SPF moisurizer (with my sensitive skin I didn't have to scrub it in to eliminate the white SPF of it, it settles into my skin almost immediately and doesn't make my face shiny, just enough moisture - win/win!), and bam! I think I've found my new HG regimen. My face doesn't sweat, it doesn't feel greasy, it's not dry, I'm still hydrated but not oily / shiny after 8 hours at work. I rarely wear makeup (daily at least) and my skin looks a ton better (don't need makeup now!), bright and pink and plump and cleared up in 2 days (I had some slight blemishes and I have been trying to get rid of these blackheads on my nose but the stubborn little bastards won't go away! lol they're pretty clear now and it's only been 2 days) I use the Hydrating Gel (this is great at night! a little tacky for daytime use but you could do it if it drys first) and the Cellufirm (jury is out on this since I just got it) at night for now; I'll need to add a night cream. I used the Chamomile Night Cream but it was just a bit too heavy for me. For reference, I have dry / combo skin where if I wash and don't use lotion, my face itches and is very tight. In about an hour, my face is an oil slick, except my cheeks - they are always dry. My cheeks are red from a mild (very mild) case of rosacea - I look like I am always wearing blush, not bad but still a touch red. Smooth and hydrated without being greasy or shiny. Yay.

At one time this was my favorite cleanser, but lately I've not been impressed with it. The smell is nice, and I like the texture of it, and the way it applies and rinses from my face. It is slightly drying so I would not use this without a deep moisturizer afterwards. Did it improve my skin tone like it claimed to?... Not really. There was no noticeable difference. After I switched cleanser my husband commented that my skin looked amazing (without makeup!)... Hmmm, while that's a compliment, it also soured me on this cleanser since I only received compliments after I stopped using it lol Still, it removed makeup well and I enjoyed the scent. It no longer resides on my shower shelf, but I may return to it once in awhile for a change.

YUCK! This smells and feels like you are smearing crayons over your face. It has a terrible waxy feel. It does not feel like it cleans AT ALL, and is hard to rinse off. I'm glad I got this as a sample. Would never purchase.

I like this cleanser - it is a no nonsense basic cold-cream-but-better product that does what it promises. No stripping, no drying, no tightness.

The bottle is huge and lasts for ages (i'm 3 months into my current one and not even half empty). The smell is slightly unpleasant with a hardly detectable orange scent.

I am torn as to whether or not to blame it for my current totally unexpected cystic acne on my chin - since changing skincare regimes 3 months ago to wean myself off Proactiv i've been using this Badescu cleanser along with Peter Thomas Roth pads and a Perricone apple concentrate acne serum. So it is hard to say what is causing this acne; I have not had pimples like this since my teens and it is very disappointing.

That said, this cleanser is still good. It is good quality and definitely worth using. Great value for money.

I've repurchased this cleanser 3 times and don't show signs of stopping. This is an amazing cleanser if you'e acne-prone and traditionally oily, but thanks to topicals or the season you've got a few dry patches. This cleanses my skin without stripping it of any moisture while also removing any flakies I might have (I use RAM, so, I'm prone to some dry patches around my chin/mouth). This cleanser doesn't foam, which is fine by me because that means it doesn't contain the harsh detergents other cleansers contain that dry the skin out. The name is a little misleading, as this is soap free, but an incorrect name won't stop me from using this. I highly recommend this if you're breaking out and already using other products to treat that issue but need a cleanser that won't irritate your skin.

I have combination skin and this cleanser worked really well to brighten my complexion without overdrying or breaking out my skin. My forehead is usually very sensitive to cleansers, but this orange soap didn't give me one blemish. I was extremely happy with the results after a week of using the product (washing with it once in the morning and then again before bed). I don't like all of Mario Badescu's products, but for me this one is a keeper.

It feels like cream cleanser. It does not foam. I like squeaky clean and this product does not bring that feeling. Also, I was expecting this soap to smell like orange, but it smells far from orange. It doesn't really have a particular scent I guess. I would not repurchase again.

Age: 19-24   Skin: Normal, Fair, Cool   Hair: Blond, Wavy, Medium   Eyes: Blue

I've been using MB's Orange Cleansing Soap since autumn when I began looking for a non-drying face wash conducive to the cold months. For reference, I have normal/dry skin, acne-prone of late, which often feels stripped when I use foamy cleansers. Since I've used MB spot-treatment products for years (their Buffer Lotion is a huge hit in my book), I decided to go with this cleanser and am very happy I did.

I use this stuff every morning and night, and it's really a pleasure. It has a semi-thick consistency with an orange, pearlescent finish. I wet my face only a little, do the whole wash thing, and pat my face dry. This is when I most appreciate it. My skin feels so soft and looks glowing. Not only does my face not feel dry after, but it feels like its retained its moisture. No stripped flakiness; I can move my mouth without my skin feeling tight. I got exactly what I wanted.

Now, I don't wear that much make-up, so it's not as if I need a heavy-duty cleanser. I don't need for my skin to feel stripped in order for me to believe the cleanser has done its job. I don't feel dirty when the cleanser leaves a slight film on top as I think it goes away after a few minutes, sinking into the skin to form a barrier, not take it away. The amount you get for the retail price makes this face wash economical, in my opinion. I would buy this again, though it's left me intrigued as to what the other MB cleansers are like. And with great return policies at Ulta (where I got it) and department stores, it's definitely worth trying if you're in the market for a non-drying winter cleanser.

i like this only been using for a few days... i use it at night, i remove my makeup before i wash my face... face cleanser is not to take makeup off, a thing called makeup remover is used for that. this started to control my oilyness right away i got the moisturizer too and they just seem to be working well,
over all the scent is pleasent, it cleans well, rinses cleanly, at under 20 bucks its a dandy!

I like this cleanser. It has a sorbolene cold-cream type texture that is great for a morning cleanser when you don't have any make-up to take off. I have normal skin which is prone to flakiness and therefore hate any cleanser that strips your skin, it just means i have to use more moisturiser to rebalance my skin's ph level. If you are a teenager or have oily skin i can understand that you might not like this cleanser and i have to admit i don't use it at the end of the day, i prefer Clarins foaming face wash for dry skin for this. I also like the fact that with the orange extracts it does seem to have some exfoliating properties, it does seem to reduce the flakies and add a bit of moisture. Hint for use: ok it may seem bleedin' obvious but if you store the bottle upside down you will have no problems whatsoever getting the product out, it's a solid little number!

I generally love all things MB but I received a deluxe size sample of this cleanser and thought it was terrible. It is a thick, opaque, plastic consistency with an unpleasant smell. It does not feel as though it is cleansing at all and merely creates a film over your skin and is difficult to wash off. I'll be sticking with the Enzyme gel.

I love MB products-and this was recommended for me in winter, but sadly Im just not crazy about it. Smells nice, awesome texture, and leaves skin soft. But in my experience with my combo/dry/acne prone skin, I do not fare well with creamy cleansers. After about 5 days I start getting little zits here and there, not cysts but zits that are simply clogged pores! Im going back to the Enzyme Cleansing Gel. Which is just a nice, refreshing, effective cleanser. I do think the Orange Soap is good for those whose skin is very dry or dehydrated and foremost not acne prone!!

i'm not really sure why so many people love this cleanser? it just seems like a plain, boring cleanser to me. it doesn't do anything great for my face and my skin actually feels better/softer/less dry when i skip this and just use a wet washcloth followed by toner (as opposed to using this then toner). i think this is kind of silly for the price and won't bother to buy it.

Mario Badescu soaps ar just ok. I've tried various types. They last forever and rinse well. Very inexpensive, considering a bottle can last a year! A tiny bit goes a long way. The gel versions are great for summer. I am now using the Orange version for winter. However, they are quite boring and I didn't notice the WOW factor.
