Stila tinted moisturizer is a nice consistency. Wanted to like it but couldnt find a good color. Purchased Tone and it was too yellow based. (have fair-light skin tone) Also the illuminator effect looked rather fake-like theater makeup. My skin is dry so maybe that is why finish appeared a bit strange. Possible that normal/slightly oily skin would be more compatible to this product.

I love this product. It also breaks me out something awful. So, since it's so pretty on, I wear it for special occasions when it's worth it to me to battle the resulting zits on my chin. It feels heavy after you apply it, but gives the skin a unique, dewy glow. I wear it on its own or under foundation. This product prompts people to tell me what beautiful skin I have. I agree with them--it DOES make my skin look great. Sigh. It's a shame I have such a love/hate relationship with it.

Only 2 days in, but dare I say HG?! At first I feared this would just be too illuminating. But a dusting of Makeup Forever HD powder & my skin looks like I've given up hope on! Coverage is light, but just enough for smoothing & evening out tone. My skin looks dewy & fresh & I feel beautiful. I'd say at least 5 years are gone. Happy happy happy!

I bought this a few years ago and was really pleased with it so decided to buy it again. i have found that this breaks me out a little bit as it contains oil. This is best used as a base as it does not provide much coverage but it does highlight the skin and gives a glow.

Love this product as it is hands down the best illuminating moisturiser I have used. However, it is a bit oily. If you have oily skin STEER CLEAR!
I also found that the shimmer particles crept into the creases around my eyes. I am 25 so they are tiny, but with this moisturiser it made me look like they were much larger.
I now use this as a weekend moisturiser - a bit of this, tiny bit of powder and I look like I am wearing nothing more than a daily moisturiser.
I do sometimes use this is a primer, but have to stay clear of the eye area. Blergh - cannot believe how much the shimmer particles make me look like I have heaps of wrinkles.
Although I think this is the best illuminating moisturiser on the market, I won't buy it again because of the particles easily sinking in to fine lines and its oily factor - its as if the natural oil in the moisturiser doesn't sink into your face.
If you have super dry skin, I think this would be your dream illuminator.

This the first tinted moisturizer I have ever tried. I LOVE its illuminating qualities. I am going to buy it again for sure. I only gave it 3 lippies because I am convinced there is better out there for me to try. I am getting into wearing tinted moisturizer on a daly basis instead of foundation. The transition has lessened clogged pores and made my complexion excellent!
I am going to order this in Ivory (Shade 1) next time as I am NC20 and found Shade 2 was a tad orange for me.

I cannot STAND this tinted moisturizer. First of all, it doesn't even give any coverage whatsover! It just feels like a really thick lotion that's super hard to spread around my face. On top of that, within 2 or 3 hours after applying it, i'm already a greaseball, granted that I have oily skin.

i really like this product. the coverage is really minimal but it's good or a no-makeup day. i use it as a basic moisturizer/sunscreen.
if my skin is looking relatively good, i use this alone with a little bronzer and it definitely makes my skin appear healthier and more glowing, sort of a dewy effect without looking greasy.
also, i am really prone to breakouts and so far nothing from this product

I like this, it's nice to put on areas i want highlighted before any powder m/u. (i mostly use powders) I would say it's a subtle shimmer and neutral color that makes for dramatic brightening of my eyes and cheekbones. Sometimes mix it with Ulta liquid minerals. I bought it in a cheap set @ nordstrom rack so i don't know what it typically sells for, but if its less than $15 i'd re-buy.

I am a big fan of tinted moisturizers but I already have a favorite brand. Still, Stila's shimmer won me over and I got it to switch things up. It was understated but at the same time gave the appearance of luminosity. But the coverage is sheerer than LM's and I didn't want to build on it because of the effect of the shimmer. Ultimately, this was a worn-alone product for a good skin day. Fun, but also a bit gimmicky. Couldn't see myself going for another tube.

Just found this yesterday for $13 at Nordstrom Rack (who knew that NR has Stila make-up for cheap??) It doesn't seem to have much coverage, even more a TM (Laura Mercier is much better I think), but it does "illuminate," and it's quite sheer. I wish it had more sunscreen in it.

I don't really like to wear foundation unless it's special occasion or event so I prefer tinted moisturizers for everyday makeup. I got this during the winter and I loved it! It did a nice job of evening out my skin tone and it looked really natural. I feel like my skin looks lifeless during the winter and the "illuminating" effect of this helps to give it that fresh dewy look. However, during the summer months the illuminating effect can look greasy, i guess because of the heat, but I usually just fix that by dusting a little powder over top!

I love this stuff. I use it alone with powder on top for a really nice glow, or when I need more coverage I mix it with regular TM or foundation and it adds a very subtle dewiness. I can almost always find it on acw.com for cheap. I've repurchased several times and will continue to do so. This is an HG product for me.

i really like this tinted moisturizer and i have tried a lot due to my dry skin. When i bought it, i wasnt really expecting coverage, but it was only about $13 at nordstrom rack, so i just grabbed it! i thought if worse came to worse, i could use it as a liquid highlighter cause it's illuminating, right? i was sooooo wrong. it provides really nice coverage and leaves a beautiful dewy finish, a little too dewy for me, but nothing some powder cannot fix. [: it also makes my skin look perhaps the most natural and glowing out of all the tinted moistuizers that i have tried. i have shade 2 btw, and im a nc30/nw25 in mac! [:
i would definetly buy this again, especially for the price!

Right. Well I have scored this 5 lippies, not necessarily for its TM properties, but more its mixability! I mix a mall bit of this with my usual Laura Mercier TM and it adds a light glow and helps the TM glide on better, almost as though Ive got primer on when I havnt!
I cant say much for its actual TM prperties, but from what Ive tested on my hand, it has minimal to none coverage, and is more of an illuminator rather than a TM. BUT if you have great skin and just want a little something extra then this may be for you!
I usually break out in spots with new makeup but with this mixed in with my TM, I havnt broken out at all (this may be partially to do with my bicarb of soda face scrub that I do daily!), so that in itself is worth a lippy!
I got this online for £7, so was a bargain from what I can see!!!
I will buy this again, if I ever need to! I only use the tiniest dollop each day so this should last me well over a year or two!!!!

"ILLUMINATING"?? Ok maybe if you do what another reviewer suggested, mix a dollop in with your foundation.
I used this straight and it had just about zero cover power. It DID leave my skin feeling supple though, not tight or greasy. But in daylight it looked like I had sparse glitter fallout from eyeshadow all over my face. This isn't any kind of 'pearly' luminescent glow; it's a straight up superfine mica or glitter particle. I can't really tell which and I took it back before I thought to read the ingredient list.
This might be nice on neck/chest but not on my face.

I bought this in Shade 01 at Winners here in Canada for under $20; I don't think I would have even picked it up from the shelf if it carried its original $42 price tag. I'm not that in love with tinted moisturizers.
But I'm glad that at 50% off regular price, I took a chance. This isn't a tinted moisturizer at all, in my opinion, because it doesn't exactly offer moisture or hydration, nor does it provide any kind of coverage at all, which I expect of tinted moisturizers (even if it's very, very slight - I do require that my skin gets evened out even just a teensy bit). No, this Stila doesn't do either of those things.
What it does do is something so, so much better.
I already get moisture from my moisturizer. I get my tint from my lightweight foundation, Lancome Teint Miracle. But what has remained elusive to me all these makeup wearing years is THAT GLOW. That J.Lo glow I've been after since what feels like the beginning of time (or at the very least, the girl's career). I couldn't even fully obtain it from MAC's Strobe Cream, which seems to have impressed every makeup artist I've come across since its release. But this, oh this! I've finally got IT. The glow.
Since there's virtually no color, it can adapt to many a skintone, I believe. I'm NC25 and Shade 01 works very well for me. I use a half pump of my Teint Miracle, and then a drop of this product and mix. I apply it all over using a stippling brush, and lo and behold, my skin looks even and luminous, without looking at all greasy or shiny. It's just amazing.
I find it even more miraculous that my sensitive, combination to oily skin can stand this without breaking out. I'm not an oil slick within an hour, either. I don't have to blot any more than usual. Really, I can't sing the praises of this enough.

this product is ok and nothing else. it gives me nice dewy look but soon my face looks a bit oily especially around my nose and on my forehead.i have to blot it with some powder. one more thing that i don't very like is that if i apply concealer before this product it disappers right after i apply the tinted moisturizer. so i had to use concealer after i applied the moisturizer. the shade 1 doesn't cover natural color on my cheeks, and it doesn't seem to even out my skin too much. i like it just because it gives me some glow which is really beautiful in the spring sun

Your skin but better! I hate wearing foundation, but I love this! Covers/disguises acne scars well. Got it in the the Stila Ulta-mate set from Ulta. The only thing is I have oily skin, and I have to blot more when I use this, but it's worth it. Imagine it's more designed for dry to norma skin.
