This is really fantastic. You just need to know how to apply it. Exfoliate well before use and like ALL tanning products use a tanning mitt!! Tanning mitts will prevent streaking and will buff the product into your skin evenly! There is no point spending $$$ if you don't apply it properly so definitely worth investing in a mitt (which is usually cheap and reusable) Anyway the product itself is not as easy to apply than a mousse and definitely takes longer to dry. I apply this before i go to bed, sleep and shower in the morning. The colour itself is lovely and natural on my asian nc30. I really adore this colour. Lovely brown. It beats fake bake for sure! Also the scent isnt so strong either.

**update: for nc25-30 girls this is not a super dark tan. Its brown and natural. If you want something darker than try the shade up or build this one up.

Also i tried this mixed in with a light weight body lotion and it works great as a tan maintainer/ gradual light tanner. It is winter here in australia so if youre after just a little colour but not a full on bronze colour, try this technique. Works great :)

This product was great, don't get me wrong. I would not repurchase for economical reasons. It's bit pricey. I paid almost $30 dollars for mine. If I can find it for less online, then I'd consider re-buying. This did make my skin nice and dark instantly! You must use a tanning mitten or else you will have a dark stain on your hands that's difficult to wash off. I found if I got some on my hands I would have to wash right away or else they would be stained. I like how fast this product works. Almost instantly my legs got darker. The product smells like cherries to me.

This product is SO awful. I took a shower last night, exfoliated like CRAZY, didn't use any lotions or anything after and then applied this.
For one, the color guard, or lack there of, blows. It didn't show up AT ALL and I had no idea where I was putting it. That would have been a bigger problem had I gotten ANY color from this product, but I didn't. I woke up this morning with absolutely NO change in my skin color, I smelled disgusting, and even after rinsing the "color guard" off, I still felt greasy and disgusting. Returning this because it is so terrible.

Just fyi you can get this on Amazon for $24 free shipping (free 2 day if you have Prime like I do).
I have bought at least 4 bottles of this and it's my HG self tanner. It dries very fast, smells like cherry almond and looks 100% natural! I put it on before bed and by the time I wake up I'm tan, the self guide bronze will wash off. Any dark spots it may leave washes off. I use Eucerine/Aquaphore lotion (yes, is thick and greasy) on my feet/ankles, elbows and knees. It still tans through it but will not leave those spots dry and dark.
For my face I mix it 1/2 & 1/2 with my normal face lotion so I don't get my face to dark. To do my hands I use a foundation brush to get it on them perfectly- buff, buff, .
You can use any exfoliater you have (non greasy just plain) and I moisturize my body 2xs a day to extend the life of the tan.
The green you see in the tan self guide is what counteracts any orange that a lot of self tanners leave you with.
I just don't see how you can go wrong with this! Like any self tanner practice with aplication makes perfect.
I am naturally fair skinned, this Ultra Dark is not too dark at all. It's buildable, so the more you put on either at once (wouldn't recommend for fair skin) or daily it can build up to be very dark!

This is the absolute best sunless tanner I have ever used! I've tried many. This has a lovely cherry scent and it has a green tint base so that it doesn't turn orange. It is a thicker consistency, so you have to blend it in well. It does not transfer and it dries quickly. This is the most natural looking tanner I have used and I have very fair skin.

I was soooo nervous to try a self tanner since I have naturally very pale olivey toned skin (I do tan well though), but I knew that I didn't want to use tanning beds anymore so I started doing research into which ones people liked the most. Alot of people on YouTube have amazing tans so I assumed they would know something about good self tanners. This product came up ALOT so I decided since the price was right ($16 on Amazon.com) I would give in a shot.

I was sooooooo impressed by this product! I always assumed that all self tanners left you orange but this was not the case! I have only tried it twice ( two nights in a row until I got the color I wanted) and everyone said I looked like I just got back from vacation! I even kinda liked the smell of cherries it gave off.

My only gripe (but hardly one at all) is that I had a hard time getting it to spread evenly before it started to dry so to solve that I just mixed it with a little body lotion and it worked perfect. That was certainly not enought to lower my score though, highly recommended!

Out of any self tanners, this is one of my top favs because it gets me DARK in just one application.

One trick to get as dark as possible in just one application is to NOT use any "lotions" on your body before putting this on..including "moisturizing soaps/bodywash", Exfoliate, and scrub scrub scrub (use a mix of brown sugar and honey and a normal NON moisturizing bar soap in the shower) but dont lather yourself with lotions or creams before using this etc..because if you have a layer of something underneath, the self tanner will not be able to soak in and your tan will be too light (unless that is what you want). Only use a tiny bit around your ankles, wrists, elbows, armpit area, and knees, but do not use lotion all over. That way the self tanner will show up even more.

I highly recommend this one, and always will. :)

One of my fav tanning lotions gets me really dark I am really pale and this comes out a reddish/brown so it's more believable on me. When I am in the sun and I do get a little tan it always has a reddish tint to it so thats y this works better for me. I am also using st.tropez mousse and I like that too. I have tried xen tan and I like xen tan but xen tan comes out a greenish tint and since I am a pale person by nature with no olive under tones it tends to look like I am a little dirty at first. So I stick with this and st.tropez! This gets me darker than st.tropez mousse though. This does take some time to dry not too long though and remember always wear gloves if you don't you will waste some product rubbing it in bare handed ur also rubbing it into the skin on your palms!

I'm naturally very pale and this delivers a true bronze, natural hue that's both buildable and believable. With proper exfoliation in the shower, and applying lotion to hands, elbows, knees, and feet prior to this, I experienced no streaking or blotchy areas, and it began to fade evenly after about five days before I needed to maintain again. Less goes a long way with this product so you definitely get your money's worth. Picked this up at ulta for about $36.50 and will certainly repurchase when I run low

Honestly I am surprised there aren't MORE reviews for this product. I am from Florida and have tanned my whole life till I smartened up of course. Well, I have tried every self tanner under the sun and I have to say that as they have gotten "better" and more "natural"...I have still not seen a tan as amazing as this product gives you. This is in my opinion light years away from any other self-tanner on the market. I wouldn't use anything else again. Just be sure to USE GLOVES! Don't think you are going to just wash your hands right after, that won't work you will have tan hands immediately without gloves. Just pick up a cheap box of the Target brand or something.

I'm very fair skinned and I ordered the Ultra Dark and it still looks great on me. No orange tint or bad smell. I'd highly recommend this product. I didn't buy the exfoliation I don't think it's worth it. Just buy a $2 facial exfoliation for your legs, it does the same job. Also, don't apply too much- little goes a long way. Enjoy :)

This is by far the best smelling self tanner i have ever encountered. it has an almondy smell which is great rather than smelling that fake tanner smell. it gets you dark in a few moments. you can see a visible difference when you put it on. one issue is that it really turns your hands like a greenish black brown color which is really obvious that youve just put on self tanner. i would buy again.

This product was a swing and a miss for me. Bought it based on reviews here. I've used many sunless tanners, so I know the drill....I exfoliated well prior to using, and wore latex gloves for applying. I also use a makeup sponge to blend the color out on the "difficult" spots like ankles, knees, wrists, etc.

Pros:
The lotion smells really nice, not like self tanner at all.
The "guide color" is a nice, chocolatey brown with an olive tone to it. Easy to see where you have applied, looks like a real, natural tan.

Cons:
The "guide color" does not rub in fully, smears like the dickens and makes you look dirty with swirls of dark brown all over you. You can't go anywhere til you've let the product work and then take a shower!

Sticky, takes a long time to dry.

I figured the tan would be the same color as the guide color, since the guide was such a nice, believable brown (albiet smeary). But no....after I let the product work for about 8 hours, I jumped in the shower and all that beautiful brown color went down the drain...I was YELLOW-ORANGE (the color was very even, though....it just wasn't a "natural" looking tan whatsoever!)

It did fade pretty fast though - within 2 days you couldn't even tell. It faded pretty evenly too...no "speckles".

The search for my HG self tanner continues....I just can't seem to find one that doesn't make me look like a Cheeto.

After Sally's beauty supply stopped selling my favorite self tanning mousse, I was in dire need of finding another self tanner that was super dark and didn't turn me orange, I ordered this product about a year ago on Amazon, and it came in the mail within like 3 days!!! I was so happy to finally try it. This self tanner definitely gives you a dark BROWN tan, not orange! It is build able and I just love it! It smells like a cordial cherry that you get around like Christmas time, but I put it on at night and wake up in the morning super brown. The only cons are the smell about after an hour you get the self tanner smell, and you DEFINITELY need to wear gloves when applying it because if you don't, prepare to have orange Dorito hands! Love this self tanner!

Love this stuff. Will repurchase when I run out. It does smell better than many others. It's not really that dark though, definitely not extra dark. I think two coats would be better, but it's time consuming to do the whole process, especially twice.

Exfoilate well and moisturize the day before applying this. Shower and wear gloves and apply it on bare skin. The next day continue to moisturize daily. This is how I upkeep a beautiful tan with this stuff. The trick is to keep your skin healthy, moisturized, and exfoilated. Then on the days when you need to reapply your tan, you should get a smooth even look. It smells like cherries and almonds and is a rich dark brown shade. You get a slight tint of color instantly and it does not transfer. It lasts almost a whole week and is so worth it compared to the price of tanning indoors. It's healthier, cheaper, and looks better. Just remember you can't just throw sunless on, you need to take care of your skin and be a lil high maintenance if you want a natural looking tan.

I LOVE this self tanner. Every reviewer has covered what I wanted to say so I just have a couple of things to add. The SUN aerosol spray works and covers great if you can't get your back. In the summer, I also go over my collar bone and tops of my shoulders with the spray to make it look naturally sun kissed. Also, I hate using gloves to apply tanner. I use liquid callus remover on my palms when I am done. It takes virtually no time and immediately takes the color off, even the next day. I have gotten so many of my friends hooked on this tanner. Also, I find it to be much more moisturizing than many of the others I have tried.

This product smells like cherry dr pepper
It gave me a pleasant color on my arms chest face and back
It didn't give me the depth I desired but it gave a nice color
My legs looked awful
My leg hair pores became quite dark and will not come out. I don't know why it's settling in there
The color is dark when you havemt washed the bronzer off yet but once you shower it leaves you with a soft glow
Comes off fairly evenly as long as you exfoliate at every shower. I missed one day and already it started getting "freckly"
All in all I do like this product but only on certain parts of my body I would repurchase this. Thinking of trying the "dark". Not done experimenting with other types however
