I agree with those who said it was runny for a lotion, but I'm ok with that except for my hands. I've found also that after a few months, you need to shake it a little as it separates. The fragrance is a sort of mandarine orange which I like but could be too strong for some people. The dark blue glass protects the essential oils, although it has crashed to the floor a lot (not broken at least). In general, I've always found the Weleda brand to be very high quality. And sea buckthorn is meant to have excellent benefits for skin.

I bought a sampler kit and Sea Buckthorn was part of it. Even those it says lotion it is pretty runny for a lotion which doesnt bother me as it is supposed to be more natural but just as an fyi for all the MUAers! It decently moisturizes but wears out after 4 hours. Given the price and that my skin doesnt stay soft I will not buy this again.

Found a 2-for-1 sale at CVS on Weleda products, which I used to use on my baby, but haven't purchased in a long time. I hadn't tried this lotion before, so thought I'd try it. It's ok... nothing impressive for the price. It's kind of runny and thin and I prefer heavier, creamier lotions. Unlike other reviewers, I don't mind the bottle, although I wouldn't travel with it. The scent is pleasant, although I generally avoid scented cosmetics and skin care products since I wear perfume. I do appreciate that Weleda products are all-natural and that the bottle can be recycled.

I have to agree with everybody about the packaging. As far as looks go, I kind of like the glass bottle, but for using, it's very uncomfortable. To be honest, I don't really like the smell of it either. Something about the smell reminds me of little babies xD The only thing I like about it is how moisturizing it is. It leaves my skin feeling very smooth and hydrated :)

So I have to agree with everyone else that the packaging is horrible, the glass bottles are really stupid - it's impossible to get everything out and it takes a while to get it out as well. Other than that I love it, the smell is very fresh, but isn't overpowering and you barely smell it once it's on. It absorbs nicely as well.

This is a very nice lotion---it smells fresh & nice and absorbs quickly. I think the blue glass bottle is very pretty but I don't know that it is the most functional, including a pump might be helpful to get all of the product out. The consistency is fairly runny, which is not a bad thing, it just seems packaging in a tube might make it easier to get all the product out. As much as this stuff costs, I would like to be able to use every drop of it. I found this on the clearance aisle at Ulta for half off; there is no way I would have paid full price for it. I found this to be nicely scented and moisturizing but not greasy. It absorbed quickly too. I normally use Lubriderm, which I also find to be moisturizing, non-greasy, and quick-absorbing. The difference for me is the Weleda smells nicer. I will use and enjoy my bottle of Weleda but will be going back to the Lubriderm. I might consider switching to the Weleda but it is just too expensive. EDIT: husband LOVES the scent of this lotion. Says that I smelled "delicious" after applying it!!

Again, what is up with the packaging, Weleda?
This whole glass bottle thing is not working for me.
It would be MUCH more user friendly if they put the product in a squeeze tube.
The product smelled like oranges.
At first it just sat on my skin but after a long time it finally sunk in (or rubbed off or evaporated ....I'm not exactly sure but I'll give Weleda the benefit of the doubt and say that it sunk in).
I haven't really seen any improvements so far but I will continue to use it....even though it will be a pain in the butt because of the stupid packaging.

I have to say I like the Sea Bucthorn Body Oil of Weleda much more than the lotion. The oil is rich, heavenly scented and produces a glowing, soft skin, whereas the lotion does not hydrate enough for my liking and smells overpoweringly. Moreover, the usual glass bottle Weleda uses for its products is totally unfunctional for a lotion: you either get too much or too little of the product and it`s simply impossible to fully empty the bottle. If you`re in a hurry in the morning it`s anyway much more time-consuming to rub in a lotion on dry skin than to spread oil on wet skin when still in shower. The oil is at that more economical and thus money-saving.

i love the scent. it smells like oranges left in the hot sun. the lotion is thin yet not watery and absorbs quickly. i like this for when i am in a hurry and need to moisturize fast. i will reuse the bottle when it is empty for a homemade blend of some kind since the bottle is light resistant.

This is an amazing lotion if you can afford it. This lotion comes in a lovely colbot blue glass bottle but you only get 3.4 oz of it. The scent is devine if you are a fan of citrus scents. It's a combination of orange, lime and a hint of mint. It reminds me of something that should come from Origins or a deluxe day spa line. The lotion absorbs into you skin and lasts for hours without feeling greasy. Definitely a treat but a pricely one. For 3.4 Fl oz pricing close to $20.00 it may be awhile before I get another bottle anytime soon.

My HG natual body lotion- love the smell and performs well- very moisturising without being greasy. As with most Weleda products it's good valkue for money and the packaging is lovely.

I'm not sure what the hype is. Sure, it smells great, but I already have a lotion that smells even better and natural. I thought the ingredients looked a little terrifying, but due to the great reviews here I overlooked that. However, since this lotion has just been a bit less than average for me (I think it is making me itch more), I will mention them:
water, sesame seed oil, alcohol, hippohae rhamnoides (seabuckthorn) oil, glyceryl stearate SE, fragrance*, limonene*, linalool*, benzyl benzoate*, benzyl salicylate*, geraniol*, citral*, farnesol*, xanthan gum, tapioca starch
* from natural essential oils

Well you're mainly paying for water and sesame oil and...alcohol!? I'm not sure alcohol is so great as the 3rd ingredient in lotion? Maybe the sesame oil masks the drying effects? I think the sensation that the lotion absorbs so quickly is due to the alcohol, since it evaporates fast at room temp. Sea buckthorn oil, the "star ingredient" is AFTER alcohol. Looking bad...

The essential oils are mainly from various citrusy plants, but also most of them should be avoided by people with perfume allergies (according to wikipedia)
more info from wikipedia:
"Limonene and its oxidation products are skin and respiratory irritants, and limonene-1,2-oxide (formed by aerial oxidation) is a known skin sensitizer. Most reported cases of irritation have involved long-term industrial exposure to the pure compound, e.g. during degreasing or the preparation of paints. However a study of patients presenting dermatitis showed that 3% were sensitized to limonene.[8]"

maybe that's why I get itchier :(

Of course, if this really helps people then by all means use it. But just from the ingredients alone, I would not feel comfortable using it. I will stick to a more natural lotion (and at $19.99 or less, you could buy a much nicer lotion!)

I broke down and spent the $19.99! Considering the size of the bottle- it's rather expensive! I really needed something for my very dry legs now that the weather has changed. I love the scent and was rather relieved it didn't smell medicinal. This feels wonderful on the skin, it just sinks in and leaves you with smoothness!
I just started using it on my face, since it has natural ingredients, I'm hoping I won't break out from it.
This is a nice splurge if you have dry skin. I think the oil has been discontinued, I can't find it anywhere in the stores.

Wow. I can not say enough. I have used the Skin Food, and honestly, wasn't as impressed. For my dry skin oil-like consistencies seem to work better-- I use this after I shower or bather, and my arms have never been softer. I live in a very dry climate, and have struggled to find something that works well, is natural and isn't so pasty. I didn't do well with the Skin Food because it never seemed to absorb as well into my skin, but this does, and the lotion itself can look deceiving in its runny appearance, but fear not! This stuff is amazing, smells nice and coming from the dryest skin possible, has done wonders and isn't irritating at all! Highly recommended and HG material.

Love, love, love this body lotion. Simply the best body lotion I have ever used.

At first, I was a little skeptical because the lotion is rather thin & runny in texture, and I'm used to heavy creams like Aveeno & Cetaphil. But once I read the product insert, I realized it is a oil-in-water emulsion with water & seasame oil as its main ingredients. I use this at night before going to bed, and Weleda Wild Rose Body oil in the morning (on damp skin after shower / bath). It sinks in right away, and my skin is left feeling silky smooth.

I normally have problems w/ scented lotions because they make my shaved legs itch & burn. Even though this has a yummy fruity scent, it doesn't irritate my legs in any way.

I only wish Weleda makes this in a larger size & put it in a pump bottle. But in truth, I like the old-fashioned dark blue glass bottle. I just have to extra careful not to drop it on my bathroom floor.

I prefer the lotion to the oil. Tried the oil first which I found very messy but it did not work that well for my face but did wonders for my body. This lotion however worked well for both my face & body, I prefer a versatile product that could do more than one task. I use the lotion as a nightime facial moisturizer over my Desert Essence jojoba oil and my face is very baby smooth, well moisturized & radiant the next morning after I wash it off!

As for my body, the lotion is very therapeutic for my shoulders and back area immediately below my neck. I tend to get bad acne around this area as I sweat a lot around these areas causing my skin to erupt in acne. With the lotion, the problem has been contained, the oil does an excellent job too but I just find it too messy. The lotion is also more economical than the oil.

I think this has to be my favourite Weleda body lotion. It's more moisturising than even the rose lotion. It smells divine...like oranges. You don't need to much and it keeps the skin nice and moist. My legs get pretty dry and this seems to be working for me. Plus there are hardly any ingredients in it and they are all very innocuous. Actually it's probably safe to eat! (There's some tasty tapioca in there to go along with the orange oil.)I like the glass bottle but I dont' have kids and I can understand the dangers if you have a kid around. Big thumbs up I will definitely buy this again.

I thought this product was pretty good. I LOVED the scent, and my skin felt very soft and smooth after use. However I found that for my very dry skin it wasn't moisturising enough, and the results didn't last long enough. But overall I did really like it.
