Im not a fan of the MAC lustre e/shadows at all however this one piqued my interest.
It is very much a peach & gold mixture which looks very similar to the mineralize blushes when applied.
Being a lustre, there is fall-out & the colour payoff is not instant like you would have with the matte or satin finishes so you do have to do some "work" in order for this e/shadow to "shine". I use it dry for a subtle finish or wet for more intensity. Layered over a cream colour base rich coral looks lovely too.
dont be afraid to try this because of the lustre finish...it takes time but its worth the effort.

I got this shadow when I Back2MAC'd some used up items. I think it's really pretty! In the store it looked like more of a frosty pink-orange, but when I got it home I noticed it was more of coppery-pinkish color. Normally I don't like pinks on me at all, but yesterday I wore this color with only some mascara and it was so pretty! I definitely recommend using with a primer and just patting the shadow onto the lid because the fall out is tremendous. It's that terrible lustre finish that does it. It's the only thing keeping this shadow from being 5 lippies. I wish they had made it in a vuluxe pearl or something. MAC should probably do away with the lustre finish all together, it's not very widely accepted. This is the only lustre that I would repurchase. I could see this really looking stunning on women of color though because it's just right on the scale of opacity. I'm an NC25 and this still shows on my lids. I'm going to try the method another reviewer suggested of using it wet to reduce the fall out.

Gorgeous color, its a beautiful peachy slightly pale pink shadow with a gold simmer/glitter to it, looks more pink in the pot. Very pretty and versatile.
At first I thought I'd hate this because the fallout but i find that using wet can really bring out the colour, give excellent payoff and with the 286 brush have better color payoff with less fallout than other.

This eyeshadow is actually really nice! It looks glittery pink in the pan, but on my skin its a nice light gold/pink color. It is sooo stunning! I use my mac 239 flat shader brush and pack in on to my lid as an all over lid color, after I prime my eyes with urban decay eden of course, and then I use soba to darken my crease, coquette and concrete in the outer V, and omega to blend any harsh lines. Then for some flare, with my finger I tap on some of urban decay's heavy metal eyeliner in Distortion and Midnight cowboy on mostly the inner corner of the upper lid. (A nice combo) The Lustre in gleam compliments the glitter, and vice versa, but gleam would still look beautiful on its own with other looks as well. Exactly what I was looking for! I love gold colors so this is perfect :]

NW10-15 (neutral-cool toned, very fair), blue eyes, Color season is True Summer, Baumann Skin Type is OSPW.

Love this shadow. It's a soft, adaptable, copper with gold glitter. It is lighter in pigmentation, so it may not show up on or may disappoint people with darker skin tones. I may not keep it because one of the highlight shades in my Anastasia brow palette is very similar, but I would repurchase.
EDIT: This one me is VERY similar to Stila's Kitten smudge pot. Except this is way easier to blend than Stila smudge pots, especially after they have dried. I love this shadow.

At first I thought I'd hate this - being a Lustre and having those warm tones, I was convinced it was a no-no for me. But I was wrong! Au contraire, it seems like a pretty universal eyeshadow to me now. It's a nude, peachy color with a slight duochrome to it, meaning it kinda fades out into this cool light pink sometimes, which makes it more interesting and multi-dimensional. Now I'm all against peaches and pinks usually, but this just does the trick for some reason. It looks wonderful on, pretty neutral and polished, not orangey or pinky at all - even the payoff is pretty good for a Listre, and the fallout is minimal, and it doesn't contain chunks of glitter, like most of its fellow Lustres. It's the best of both worlds (warm & Lustre-y). Plus it's so easy to wear, just throw on a liner or a generous coat of mascara, and you're good to go. Recommended for a variety of skintones, from quite pale to quite tan. Would probably repurchase.

i think i need to be wetting my brush because honestly i stopped using it because the fallout was so bad!
i liked the colour when i patted it onto my eye though, i find that if i pat it and build up colour it comes out better on my skin.
its peachy golden and very beautiful. for me i like to use it as a everyday lid colour becaue on my dark skin its great (im at nc40 in winter and darker in summer)
i would repurchase now that i know to use water with my application

I love Gleam so much! It's one of my absolute favourite lid colours and it looks gorgeous with, well, any crease colour. I'm very pale (NC15) so it shows up on my skin, but I'd imagine it would work wonderfully as a highlight colour for women with darker skin than I. I don't understand why people dislike the lustre finishes so much... I personally don't have a problem with them - if I use a flat shader brush and pat it on I barely get any fallout. I added a picture where I've paired it with Sable (in the crease), and I think that combination looks really good (too bad my tired eyes don't look as good...) :)

It's a pretty colour in the pan, but in all honesty the colour payoff isn't too great. I use it as a highlight mostly, and I find that if you wet the brush the colour payoff improves slightly. Most likely won't repurchase.

I do not know why some people are so down on this shadow. Yes, it is the dreaded lustre finish complete with some requisite fall out. However, the fall out can be lessened by dampening your brush before application. Once you do that, you will see the beautiful peachy golden glitter of Gleam. The name is really apropos--the shadow color and finish do create an ethereal glow. It seems like Gleam would work for all skin from light to dark and warm to cool. I think this color is really lovely and great for an allover...gleam or just a hint of glint.

I went into my local MAC store looking for a high end version of a shimmery peach colored shadow. Gleam ended of being the perfect eyeshadow, and exactly what I was looking for. You do have to sort of press this stuff on, rather that just dusting it across your eyelid. Also, it looks great on top of peach, neutral eyeshadow, etc. I really like the color so I feel if you can learn to counteract some of its negative features (fallout) by pressing it on/using a primer it's a beautiful shimmery peach neutral for everyday or going out.

Let me give you grrls the low-down on this color. Here's my story: I received this in a swap. Uninterested in the color, just as an extra for back to MAC goodies. I complained about what everyone else complained about; rough texture, not enough color-payoff. At the last minute I decided to depot it just to keep in my stash. Because let's face it, the color is just too pretty...I put in on as a BLUSH on a whim. WOW. it has a bit of that Nars Orgasm thing going on, and can pass for a mineralized blush duo because of it's duo-chrome factor. Also works great as a highlighter for blushes like Springsheen and Margin. I'm so glad I kept it. USE IT AS A BLUSH/HIGHLIGHTER.

I used this over MAC cream color base in Pearl and it makes all the difference. It's replaced my HG All That Glitters.

very pretty color but too much glitter in it for me - seems like it is mainly glitter rather than color, if it was less glittery i could use it but as it it i don't... find it more so than my other lustre mac eyeshadow (which is honesty - i use that over top of other eyeshadows to warm them up)

When I first got this shadow, I hated it. It was just that nasty lustre finish. I talked to an MA later and she suggested I use a flat shader brush rather than a fluffy shader brush. It really helped! Now I love this. It's a beautiful peachy slightly pink shadow with a gold simmer/glitter to it. It's a great lid color. I wore it with Haux the other day and loved it. It lasted all day with a primer. Highly recommend it but just make sure and use the correct brush!
Edit-sometimes for whatever reason my brush trick doesn't work. Then I use my finger like another review suggested and it helps. Also, I tried Urban Decay "X" because it's so similar. X is more gold and less pink and the texture isn't glittery but there is still fall out. In the end I prefer Gleam.

Of my 40+ MAC eye shadows this is BY FAR my least favorite! The color pay-off is laughable and pathetic. This was one of the first eye shadows I ever bought from MAC and I can still see the press marks on it from when it was made lol. The color in the tin is also quite deceiving, I always find myself drawn to it in the store picking it back up time and time again, only to be reminded of the disappointment I encountered the few times I gave it an open minded try. Honey Lust is a far better gold tone, or if you’re looking for a pinky gold (as GLEAM appeared to be to me) try layering Sweet Lust over the Honey Lust. Sorry for the venting, I’m very passionate about my eye shadows......

A very pretty, very shimmery pinky gold. I layer this over a cream eyeshadow and I have almost no fallout - not sure what I'm doing right compared to others who have problems :( I really enjoy this color - very beautiful!

A super shimmery peach-pink. Like a glittery version of my LORAC Harmony or Mango. Love this all over the lid with a darker crease color. Great for my blue-green eyes but I imagine it would look equally awesome on hazel and brown eyes too. Another staple.
