After using the Herbal Facewash, thus causing oiler skin but no breakouts, and the Blue Algae cleanser, which clogged my pores due to the castile soap, I found this to be great at getting a nice squeaky clean feel but not too squeaky clean. Does not break my skin out and gets rid of makeup if it's not too heavy or waterproof/resistant . Price is great also. Only flaws are 1. using too much causes really dry and tight skin due to high alcohol content and 2. all Aubrey's facial skin care packaging with the push down top gets water in them, when brought in shower, and leaks when the bottle is shaken. Great stuff other than that and will keep using.

You know, I really like this product. I bought the small sample size that comes at Whole Foods for $10. This cleanser is creamy and I love the consistency. I don't think that it's successful in removing makeup completely but I follow it up w/ the accompanying toner, which seems to get the job done. It hasn't broken me out but I also don't notice a huge improvement in my skin either. I think this is a great alternative to dry skinned folks who need a creamy hydrating cleanser.

I love this stuff. It is the only cleanser I've use that doesn't make my face feel tight and dry after using. My skin feels soft and smooth after I use it. LOVE IT!

I didn't experience any particularly negative side effects to this product, but I'm not sure that it actually cleaned anything. It has alcohol to take care of the oil, but other than that, I'm not sure whether it cleansed my face any more than rinsing my face off with water would have. It was nice and soothing despite smelling like the alcohol wipes nurses rub you down with before giving you a shot -- but I wouldn't repurchase as, being acne-prone, I want to make sure my cleanser is actually cleansing the dirt/oil/moisturizer/etc off of my face.

Surprised at other reviewers because I felt as if I were dousing my face in alcohol with this one. No matter what, the smell and slight sting of alcohol stuck with me and my skin isn't sensitive. The size and container are great but that's it, I can smell alcohol in the product, probably due to high levels of grain alcohol found in it which I generally steer clear of particularly in 'organic' brands. The formulation quickly lost consistency in bottle and is now only runny though I gave this up in favor of another product. I bought this because I blinked and was thinking 'Tea Tree' and not payng attention to "Green Tea', ah well. I like the Aubrey brand but I am very disappointed with this product.

TRIAL PERIOD: Tried only one time.
MY SKIN TYPE: Combination dry skin.
EFFECTIVENESS: I have combination dry skin but wanted to try this anyways even though I don't the skin type. My skin was a bit flaky dry after using this once, but keep in mind I have combination dry skin AND I tried it during winter-dry season. It wouldn't be fair/honest to give this product a bad rating because I think it would be a great product IF I fitted the skin type for this cleanser which is suppose to be for Normal Skin.
TEXTURE: Not too thick, not too runny. The texture is in between Aubrey's SeaBuckthorn Cleanser (too runny) and Aubrey's Vegecol Cleanser (too thick) which makes the Green Tea Cleanser just perfect texture-wise. The way your skin feels after you wash it off is also in between the SeaBuckthorn & Vegecol Cleansers. The SeaBuckthorn Cleanser washes off squeaky clean and smooth and after you pat your face dry, your skin feel smooth with no residue feeling. The Vegecol Cleanser makes your skin have a residue feeling after washing it off (similar to how Noxema feels after washing it off). So the Green Tea Cleanser is in between the two, but more closer to the SeaBuckthorn Cleanser.

On my quest for a cleanser that doesn't strip my skin I gave this a try. Thankfully I got a sample amount which I've been using the past couple of nights. I am surprised to report that it does actually leave my skin feeling quite comfortable- which is not easy to achieve, especially in the winter months of Canada. Now the problem is, I detest the scent. It's quite funky- heavy on the alcohol and infused with almost a rubbery odour. Apparently the alcohol is not the drying kind...Unfortunately, due to the scent I am still on the hunt for a cleanser, but if I don't find a better one, I may end up returning to this as it seems to produce skin happiness. My skin type is dehydrated/combo, and easily irritated. In closing, I can't report how this removes makeup because I haven't been wearing any lately, but it seems to remove sunscreen fine.

This is the BEST FACE SOAP EVER!! A friend let me use hers a few years ago, and I've never used another cleanser on my face since. It's the only one I've ever found that leaves my sensitive combination skin feeling totally clean without any tightness or drying. I love the fact that I actually recognize the names of all the ingredients, too (natural products are awesome if they work well). I wish it were a tiny bit thicker so it would be easier to use, but I'm willing to cope. Thanks Aubrey!

A great cleanser for normal or combo skin! My skin is classic combo that is on the oily side in summer, and more normal to dry in the winter. The Green Tea & Ginko is great for me to use during the winter months. (I use the Blue Algae in summer) I feel like it does a great job of cleansing my skin w/o overdrying; and it does not aggravate my breakouts at all.

i really wish AO didn't change the formula because the old one works better for me. but this cleanser doesn't remove makeup. it's a very good cleanser that doesn't break out my skin and seem to keep blemish at bay. sometime i have those soft pink blemish, a warning for pimples, after washing my face with this cleanser, i notice that the pink blemish is greatly reduce and doesn't breakout. tone my skin complexion and leave it nice and hydrated. most cleanser, after u wash off, it will make ur skin dry or taut, but nearly all of AO cleanser is not. i don't remember using any of AO cleanser that make my skin dry after washing it.

As I've said in reviews of other Aubrey Organics products, this brand is very hit-or-miss for me. Sometimes I want to give up on this line after trying a dud, but then I'm reminded of the items I really love. Anyway, this cleansing lotion is a lotion with a soft texture, with very little lather to speak of. It is loaded with green tea and other wholesome ingredients. It leaves my skin feeling very soft and clear. It does not, however, remove makeup (mineral powders) well at all.
I like that it has no synthetic ingredients. I don't think that all synthetic ingredients are bad, or that natural is always better, but I do think that natural ingredients tend to have a longer track record of safety, if that makes sense. I keep finding out about synthetic ingredients that were thought to be safe but then turned out to be carcinogenic or at least unsuitable for certain uses. So if I can find a natural product that works as well as a synthetic one, I'll use the natural one. That's how I feel about this cleanser.
