Initially, I was looking for a highlighting colour to replace my MAC pro longwear eyeshadow in Carefree. And this turned out to become my favourite eyeshadow of all that I own.
Beautiful colour of a silvery yellow, not really a yellow, I think it would absolutely suit everybody, any skintone. The shimmer is very delicate, and it is not this in your face shimmer, but just a subtle amount of sheen that transfers really nicely. I use this every time I do an eyeshadow look just as a base, and as a highlihter as well.
The quality of this eyeshadow is also amazing: it doesn't crease, goes on smoothly and it is very comfortable to wear.

If there`s one eye shadow that I would want to splurge on,, this is it! I find this color somewhat flattering for almost everyone .. I can use this single color for work and/or add some deep color/shimmer for the nites. Because this goes with anything and everything, it`s also travel friendly, if all you need is one eye color..

The only remotely negative thing I can think to say about this product is possibly the price – and I say 'possibly' because in my opinion it's totally worth the cost. I wear this shadow every single day, and I also wear it when I go out for a special event or whatever – it's versatile and easy to apply and looks gorgeous on your skin. It's perfect. Oh and I love Bobbi Brown's packaging. Her stuff looks so simple and sophisticated yet luxurious and sleek/sexy too; it's really fantastic. I highly, highly recommend this particular eye shadow.

Great subtle shimmer base shadow, really is a bone colour with a slight silver glisten. I often use this during the day with Champagne Quartz Metallic and MAC Teddy kohl and find that my eyes really look open without looking like I tried. Its a good blending base and like most Bobbi Brown shadows it doesn't crease or fade. Highly recommended for those who want a subtle shimmer to their base shadow during the day.

I love, love, love this as an inner corner color. It's a beautiful shimmery pearl that really brightens up my eyes. I've used it on several other people (different skin tones, etc.) & it looks good on EVERYONE. It's so silky smooth. I always use a eye primer (MAC paintpot or UDPP). With most of my MAC colors, it always seems to crease in my innner corner (weird...I know), BUT with this little gem. It stays put & brilliantly smooth all day. I'm hooked. I use it every single day.

One time I bought BB bone matte eyeshadow but the sales lady gave me shimmer wash Bone eyeshadow instead ! The store is too far for me to exchange. I tried to play around with it and found out the shimmer wash Bone is the best to highlight eye brow bone. Since then I have been used it every day. I love it. The shimmer is very fine milled. Matches my skind tone perfectly.

AHHH-MAZING! seriously great shadow. A BB consultant actully used this as a highlighter on my face over my blush, cheekbones, forehead and bridge of my nose. I was shocked, but then looked in the mirror and fell in love. It made my entire face look etherial, and toned down the blush (rose on my checkbones, apricot for the pop pf color on the apples of my cheeks) and gave it perfect glowy dew I am always striving for. No glitter, no highlighting of my pores, just perfection. He said that all the consultants love this shadow for this reason. Dear shimmerbrick...i NEVER thought I would leave you, but I am sorry, I've met your replacement.
PS- it is also really beautiful and natural on your lids for the classic Bobbi Brown "no makeup, makeup" look.

A beautiful gentle shimmering ivory colour that has much less yellow in it than the matte version. The shimmer is very subtle and I don't experience fallout. I use it as a highlight for my browbone and my cupid's bow. I also like to use a gentle wash of this over matte shadows on my lid to lift them slightly, without overpowering me with frost. An excellent shadow that I will happlily repurchase. Love the packaging and the new interchangeable palletes.

Bone is a lovely off white, slightly shimmery shade that makes a great base. As others have said, it has just enough shimmer but has no frost. Great texture. Blends beautifully with many other shades. Edited to add: Bone continues to be one of the handiest, most versatile shadows I have.

This is my #1 HG eye shadow! MUST HAVE!!!!!
COLOR: This is an off white with golden undertones, seems like it might be warm, but it comes off very neutral. It's a great highlight shade and overall wash of color.
TEXTURE: Here's the part that makes this my HG: The name "Shimmer Wash" is so appropriate. This isn't frosty or chalky or anything like it. it's a lightly pearly sheen and that's it. There is no base color and the sheen is just off white. I can't even layer it to get it as frosty as something like Stila Starlight, it just isn't in it's power. No frost at all, and like frost, don't get me wrong, but pretty frosty shades are a dime a dozen, this is just literally a subtle sheen that wakes my eyes up in a way that's almost imperceptible and just phenomenal!!!!!!! and it makes a great highlight since it's just that subtle sheen, you just can't overapply it, it seems
PACKAGING: I am a big fan of the new and INGENIOUS packaging of BB's square packaging revamp, but i have this shadow in the old round screwtop. The packaging is not as convenient as the new, but it doesn't keep me from using this shadow daily. You can find it in the old packaging at Cosmetic COmpany Outlets for cheaper as well as on ebay for even less, but i recommend the new packaging because i'm anal about organizing.
WEAR: Over a base (I use Too Faced Shadow Insurance) this wears evenly and beautifully all day for me. I've not tried it without a base and honestly don't plan to.
PRICE: $20 for the new packaging which holds .10 oz isn't bad for this HG shadow in my book. It looks from the packaging like a shadow that can be duped by any drugstore brand, but it just can't because of the texture. WnW Cream is close in color, but frosty as can be. The price is very worth it for this one in my opinion, but if you're not anal about having the new square packaging, get it on ebay or at CCO for an even better deal. I got mine from a girl on specktra for just an insanely good deal and am so glad i did.
OVERALL: I can't think of another way to put it: THIS IS MY HG SHADOW. I wear it almost every day in some capacity, and often as my only shadow. it is perfection and if i could recommend one single shadow to anyone, this is the one, boring as it may seem, since I use it for so many things.
Here is a photo of the shadow and a swatch of it on my NC25 (slowly becoming NC30 as summer approaches) hand, the flash makes it seem it might be frosty, but please take my word: it's sublime
And here's a picture of me wearing Bone as an allover wash with BB Rockstar Metallic e/s on the lid

Bone Shimmerwash was too white for me to use as a highlighter. I tried using it on the lid for a light wash but it didn't work there either - texture not quite as good as some other shimmerwashes.

What a beautiful bone shadow. The color is pearlized so it has a beautiful sheen & glow. This is the perfect amount of shimmer- definitely not too much for daytime, simply a subtle illumination. The texture is buttery & creamy, & the shadow applies with ease. No powdery mess with Bobbi's shadows! I like the fact that this bone color doesn't look white & unnatural on my eyes. I'm slowing adding to my BB shadows colors. They're high quality, finely milled, & last a very long time. Let's see...which color do I want next...

This was a smidge light for me, but very pretty. It does have a very light sheen that is not overpowering - it's creamy and silky and it lasted. But for some reason this irritated my eyes, they just kept watering until I took it off. I've come to realize that all of BB products irritate me in some way - but I'm unusual. I like Smashbox Sand better, it's not quite as light, less shimmer, and it doesn't irritate my eyes.

Thanks to Bone, another lemming/obsession is born, as I want more BB eye shadows! This was an impulse purchase at the CCO in the old screw-top packaging--but at $13.50, I had to try it. I wasn't disappointed.
Bone is a pale ivory that isn't too warm or too cool; it's a true neutral with just the right amount of shimmer. I can use this as a highlighter or as a lid color with all kinds of colors. The shimmer isn't even close to OTT--it's beautiful and fine without the chunkiness or glitter that a lot of shimmer shadows have.
It blends like a dream and goes on like butter. I was wowed when I first tried this and blended it with Chocolate--much better than most shadows. It looked like a natural, subtle soft, yet defined eye.
Now I understand the hype. This is my first BB shadow but it won't be my last.

I love this shadow, because it is so natural! Some people below have mentioned that they don't like the way that it disappears on the lids, but it really ends up looking natural and pretty. This is a base or highlighter shadow definitely, but I wear it alone on everyday occasions just to brighten up my eye. The goal of a shadow is to accent your eye, not overpower it, which is why I love this. If you want something heavy, this is not the way to go, but for me, it was perfect. Other shimmer colors to try would include Petal and Rose Gold, both of which are also pretty

This is one beautiful base shade or highlighter under the browbone. As with all of Bobbi Brown's Shimmerwash Eye Shadows, Bone is finely milled, soft and very pigmented so use a light hand when applying! The shimmer is unlike any other I have worn as it is subtle but still packs a punch. I do wish she would repackage in flip-top containers but I will still repurchase as it is. Lovely and very versatile.

For reference, NC15 / BB Porcelain. As other reviewers have noted, Bone SW is somewhat sheer like many BB shadows. I apply this over a base to highlight the inner corner of my eye and under the brow bone. The shimmer is very fine compared to many other brands. (Talking to you UD!) Yes, it's subtle but with a color like Bone I think that is the goal. The pan is a large size and I do not expect to run out for a long, long time. A definite repurchase for me.

Love, love, love this and all my other shimmerwash e/s! For reference, I'm a 40 year-old cool PPP (NW15) w/ light brown hair and green eyes. This shadow shows up on me as a very flattering luminous ivory and seems especially well-suited as a wash as well as for highlighting my browbone and inner corners and I love pairing it with cooler taupes such as Shu ME Brown 850.

Like watergirl78 below, Bone Shimmerwash just disappeared into my lids and made me look as if I had no e/s on at all. Actually, I am quite disappointed, as this one looked beautiful at the BB counter swatched on the back of my hand. I wanted this for inner corner highlighting, but it definitely can't handle that task for me. I had to go over it with MAC Vapour in order to make it stand out. I guess it's still okay as a brow highlighter, but that wasn't my intentions for this. I love BB's Shimmerwash shadows, but Bone & Petal (SWs) were just too pale for me. Would not repurchase this one.
