Amplified is the type of lipstick consistency. I purchased the color "Craving" which looks like a deep pink berry and goes on just the way it looks onto my lips. Looks great on my Asian skin with yellow and olive tones.
PROS:
-Non-drying
-Great staying power for a creamy lipstick. I only reapply if I had something oily to eat like pizza or pasta.
-Great pigmentation, the color I saw on tube is pretty much the color that was on my lips.
-Does not seep into fine lines.
-Great price at $14.
-The rose pink shade I got really looks great on photos, makes my teeth and skin look brighter.
*CONS:
-None.
*Notes: All in all, a great creamy lipstick. Like other reviewers mentioned below, some of the other MAC lipsticks I have tried are a bit drying and would need a balm or gloss with it. But with the amplified consistency, I can wear alone. Not a fault of the product but I would not buy again only because I am shopping for greener makeup... hopefully can find a green lipstick that is as great and reasonable priced as this.

i have been using creamsheen over some time and thought about trying out other finishes. the MUA suggested amplified, and omg... its simply awesome. I got the fast play, it has pink undertones and complements my skin tone perfectly. Its now my everyday lippie. i apply it over burt bees, and end of the day my lips are as soft as ever.

I thought there was nothing new under the sun when it comes to l/s. Now, I will only buy a MAC l/s if it is the amplified formula. It's creamy but highly pigmented and long wearing. It doesn't seep into the lines around your lips nor smear on your teeth. The price, between $14-16 depending on if it's a special issue, is very reasonable compared to other department store brands. They have mostly light colors except Dubonnet and another red. I guess most people want the paler colors. Me, I like gutsy, in-your-face colors like deep dark red. I wish they had more of them in Amplified forumula. Whenever a new collection comes out, that's the first thing I check for. Luster, luster, luster, cream sheen, glaze, yuk. Nice colors but that's about it. Finding a new Amplified is like finding a hidden gem.

I must say that "not all amplified are equal." I bought a very deep purple (Dark Side from the Venomous Villains collection) and it doesn't go on evenly. Eventually you get there, but you have to work it a little. I don't know the name of the collection, but they had a red color named Dangerously Hot that is one of my favorite colors in life. And it goes on evenly. In summary, it is long-wearing, has great coverage, looks creamy and is comfortable. Lipstick doesn't get much better than that.

I love MAC's Amplified formula. Very intense colour, creamy and not drying as compared to their Lustre, Satin and Matte formulas. It does provide intense colour with comfortable wear even for dry lips with just one swipe. Although if you have very very dry and peeling lips, it might be best to apply some lip balm or gloss over it. Also, the vanilla flavour makes MAC lipsticks so enticing!

Wow, this lipstick is long wearing and is very vibrant! I got this in a bright hot pink color called chaterbox. It's creamy but it stays on. The packaging is somewhat great in a way ;) The only thing I have to say about this lipstick is that the lipstick tends to have such staying power that if you mess up while applying your lipstick onto your actual upperlip, it'll stay there even when you try to rub it off. You have to use makeup remover to get it off which will take off your foundation. Other than that, I really like this. It's a bit pricey but once in a while, it's okay to plurge right?

I used to be partial to cremesheens and lustres because I like my lip products to be slightly glossy, moisturizing, and I don't care much for super bright colours. Those two finishes were smooth and had many everyday sort of colours. But now I have to say, Amplified Cremes have a texture to die for! They are creamy, pigmented, and go on like a dream. I think I am going to venture into the world of brighter lipsticks now!

Interesting thing...I HATE Mac lipsticks, because they all dry out my lips and just look bad on me. However I had a "back to Mac" and had to pick a l/s...and I decided to get Cosmo. I totally expected it to give me the same problems as the other 4-5 I've tried so far, so I put it on one night before going out, with another l/s in my purse as a backup. And here came the surprise: I did not need the backup!!! This l/s is everything I had been looking for in a l/s: lasting power, not drying, not to emphasize the fine lines on my lips, and not cause them to become/look flaky. It actually melts on my lips and becomes one with them (that's never happened before to me, with any l/s), the color stays vivid for hours, but feels like I have nothing on. I am just shocked. My lips look plump and slightly glossy with this on...just perfect! The only (minor) drawback is that the color turns reddish on me, and because I'm fair with blond hair, I can only wear such a "loud" color when I go out at night, it would be too much for daytime use. But at nighttime, it looks awesome, it goes very well with smokey eyes and it just makes me look good. I will most definitely go find another shade, more natural, for daytime use, in the Amplified line, it seems to be the only one that doesn't have an adverse reaction on my lips. LOVE!!!

I love this lipstick in Saint Germain, which is a creamy matte cotton candy/flamingo pink. It's definitely not for the faint of heart (or for everyday, maybe), but it's totally hip, chic and fun for a night out. Stays on a looong time, as well. I imagine a tube will last a long time, as a light hand is probably better!

Amplified is by far my favorite finish - nearly all the lasting power of a matte or satin but with tons of color and none of the dullness. I can use this without a gloss and it looks gorgeous. I heard a nasty rumor that they are discontinuing the Amplified line. Say it isn't so! If they do that I'll boycott! At least for a month or two.

Undecided on these. I went looking for a pink and the matte's were not strong enough. Finally chose Fast Play which is am amplified neutral pink tone. It goes on smoothly and no awful aftertaste. MAC also recycles their containers. So 6 empty lipstick containers brought back yields a free lipstick. That's great. Maybe I have to play with this but it made my lips look dry, something I definitely wanted to avoid. The jury is out on this so far.
Update: I added a lippie because when I used this alone, the color went on creamy, is a beautiful shade and my lips did not look dry. The liner may be the reason.

I love these lipsticks. Beautiful shades and very comfortable to wear. Cosmo is my latest addition and will probably replace Twig as my new "no brainer" lippie. My lips are highly pigmented and this comes across as a midtoned neutral fleshy pink on me. Not quite as browny as Twig and perhapes a bit lighter...but not by much. This will be a stable for a long time to come.

I am a total lipgloss girl, but I keep trying to find a lipstick formulation that I like since lipstick tends to last longer (and is more appropriate for work situations). This might be it! I received an Amplified l/s in Deliciously Rich in a swap, and I'm really liking it. I'm not sure that the color is quite right for me (might be a bit too cool, it's a light lilac pink), but the formulation seems great. It doesn't feel like you have anything on your lips, and yet it doesn't dry out the lips after an hour like so many other lipsticks do. I also like the formulations of Lancome Sheer Magnetic and the d/c'd L'Oreal Shine Delice, but this MAC formulation seems to last longer than both of those. Doesn't give the dreaded white line, either. Try this if you don't like the "feeling" of lipstick on your lips.

This formula is okay, in certain colors. I have tried/own Dubonnet (deep browned red), Up Note, and 15 Minutes. I have pigmented lips and loved the amplified cream formula when I tried Dubonnet. However, with the lighter nude colors (Up Note and 15 Minutes) they showed up like peachy or pink concealer on my lips, and seemed to migrate all over the place! This problem is somewhat alleviated if I apply with a lip brush, but it's more of a hassle. If I find a color I can't live without in this formula I'd continue to buy it, but I wouldn't say that amplified cremes are my favorite (i still prefer lustres).

I have a borderline obsession with MAC lipsticks and have like 5000 of them haha. The Amplified Creme formula is without a doubt my favorite finish, it's creamy without being greasy, and while all lipsticks feather a little bit, this one is pretty amazing in that when it does its very little and very easy to clean up with a q-tip. I'm an 18 year old girl who dresses like someone from the fifties down to the pin curls, haha, so I really love finding lipstick that work with my whole Sophia Loren kinda vibe. My favorite colors are Impassioned, which is a NEON pink, Morange, which is like a highlighter orange, truly the color and waxiness of the fruit, and Overtly Plum, which I don't belive they make anymore, it's a true plum with a slight brown-red undertone. obviously it takes a certain kind of moxie to ear neon pink and highlighter orange, but I do adore them, for girls who are into more subdued natural shades (which is NEVER my vibe) there's some brown-cream colors and the inevitable and often amuzing brown-mauve color, which always looks kind of gross to me. If you've only tried MACs frost lipsticks, which I usually like, you might have a bad oppinion of their otherl ipsticks because the frosts are generally drying, but the creme formula is very slick, and almost feels like a thick balm. Try it.

This is my ABSOLUTE favorite finish! It's creamy and pigmented, and it's not greasy. This only gets a 4/5 due to lack of an SPF, it should be standard in all their products.

My lips were dry with visible fine lines, therefore the sale at the counter recommended Amplified to me, I picked up Satiated. It is a mauve red I think, but not really has hints of brownish inside. It's creamy, moisturising and the vanilla scent is so yummy! I always feel like biting it off lol~ It covers up most of my lip lines and the color stays on throughout the day. The shade goes well with my lightly tanned skin tone.Plus, one thing I like about MAC lipsticks is that the swirling mechanism is so well made that it never breaks!
