I love this soap! I actually use it on my face as a cleanser, and it does a good job taking off my makeup. The big plus is that it doesn't dry out my face or make me break out - and it smells fantastic.

I bought this on the basis of reviews here because I have gone on a bit of a soap buying spree and I just love rose scented things.

Usually soap makes me feel icky and dry so consequently I have always used shower gels or mousses but I am pleased with how this feels after I get out. Yes there is some film left initially (feel a bit squeeky clean) but it goes away magically after drying off. I do use a body lotion after but only Johnsons baby lotion which is pretty light. Amazingly it has managed to get rid of those annoying bumps on the back of my arms which has never happened! Lovely creamy lather too.

Now I was so pleased about body performance that I dared to use it on my face (eeeek!) and I am very happy. Not broken out with acne and my skin looks smooth and lovely. I use this on it's own in the AM but use it along with a cleansing balm to take makeup off in the PM (the Simone France way). I make sure to moisturise after.

The smell is a bit strong but fades nicely after use. I prefer Rose Maroc scents but this is a nice change for me. The only thing I don't like is all the major chemicals and preservatives in it. It is not all 'drawn from nature' as the box may lead us to believe!! This won't put me off using it though as long as it continues to perform well. Oh also the box itself is delightfully beautiful and vintage looking. At about £3.30 a bar it is brilliant as it doubles up as face & body wash. I would have been spending twice that on seperate products.

UPDATE: uh-oh, seems that although this does not aggrevate my acne, it makes my facial skin over produce oil so much I end up REALLY greasy after only a few hours. I tried going sans moisturiser but it still did the same - BOOO! Still great on the body though so i'm not reducing my rating. Back to Avene Cleanance...*sigh*

I bought this for my mother who loves the smell of roses. She's always looking for a nice rose scented soap. The only thing is, she loves this soap so much that she refuses to use it. So, it has become bathroom decor. I was tempted to buy her some more but I fear that it might become more decor. Ah well. I love the scent also and would buy it again. :)

No matter how many face products I try (and I try many), I always come back to this soap. It's very gentle and keeps my face hydrated as well as clean. I honestly don't know why I stray from using this (curiosity, I guess!), because nothing ever does as good a job. It has never broken me out, and it has saved my life many a time after a "skin abuse" period. I would highly recommend it, but be sure you buy the cold cream version, NOT the glycerin one. I tried that once and it was too drying.

An excellent, long lasting, hard miled soap, pricey but worth it. Dense and creamy lather. Using this at the end of a hellish day will make everything better. I tried the transparent glycerin Rosewater soap but it melts away too quickly. The whole Rosewater line is recommended, I somehow like this fragrance more than their Evelyn Rose line which is too peachy-powdery for me. The baby size of this soap is cute for stocking stuffers or travelling - forget those hotel soaps!

I buy this in bulk whenever its' on sale and have been using it since I was 15 (12 years ago-wow!). I go through spurts if using this as I do with all my beloved products and the reason this is my staple is that it is an instant calmer for the skin, clears and softens the face almost instantly and smells heavenly (if you like rose smell)--highly recommend!

This soap is wonderful for cleansing (rosewater acts as a gentle astringent) and the cold cream is an incredible humectant, making you soft and smooth. Overall, this soap left my skin the softest & cleanest feeling and I have sensitive skin to most fragranced soaps.
