I'm not impressed by any of these carol daugther's products. This product specifically is much too greasy to use on any hair imo. It makes my hair super greasy/oily, and the scent is sooo overpowering- citrusy. While it makes the hair super oily, my scalp feels super itchy and irritated when using this (may be from all of the perfumes)

I agree with most of the positive reviews here. Used in conjunction with Healthy Hair Butter, this product helps define and smooth my relaxed, air dried midback length hair.

My problem with CD is that corn oil and soybean oil do NOTHING healthy for the hair. There are only three oils that are known to actually penetrate the hair shaft; olive, avocado and coconut. Argan oil may also belong to this group but I don't know whether any scientific studies have shown this.

CD makes such a big deal about using all natural ingredients. For the prices they charge they should be using more effective, better quality oils.

UPDATE- I have sworn off all CD products. They are obnoxious smelling, over priced and made with cheap ingredients that do little for the health of your hair.

This is one of the few Carol's Daughter products that I like. Most seem cheap and smell awful. This smells a little orangy and floral, still not the best I have ever smelled, but i can handle it. A little goes a long way as other reviewers have noted. It makes my hair super shiny and healthy looking. Best of all, and what keeps me coming back is how soft it makes my flat ironed hair. Sample first if you can.

I have relaxed hair, and use the hair honey on my edges and ends of my hair. Overall the product is pretty decent, I like that it has natural ingredients in it. It can weigh your hair down, so you don't need a lot.

I bought this about 2 to 3 years ago and it is still half way. The smell is OK, but it doesn't do anything special to my hair. If used in large quantity, be prepared to wash your hair again as it EXTREMELY greasy. I honestly don't see what the big fuss is about this brand. I think it's just a trend. All the products I've smelled make me gag a little.

I tried this in Sephora and the scent is amazing! The ends of my wavy/curly hair can get tangled and dry and I was looking for something that I could rub in and make brushing easier. The scent is rose based with lavender and a hint of beeswax and other essential oils--very nice, clean, refreshing. It is very subtle and I can sometimes get a faint whiff of it throughout the day. I do like to read the ingredients of my products and realize that corn and soybean oil is not very expensive or high-end; on the other hand I don't have any interest in making my own hair oil and investing in expensive essential oils so I'm okay with that. I also don't flatiron or style my hair on a daily basis so I don't need any silicones. A small dab is enough for the ends of my hair, anymore and it can get greasy. Don't let the tub get too hot or it will liquify! Overall I think this is a nice product. I would buy this again, but since I bought the large tub I think it's going to last a very, very long time before I have to repurchase.

Awesome product!! Every curly/natural girl should have this!! I twist my hair up at night with this moisturizing each twist and in the morning it's amazing what my hair looks like...I've had so many compliments since I used this...AND get this...I've only been using it a couple of nights because I actually got a tester/sample to see if I would like it and I LOVE it!! I would say that the people that don't really like it are probably using it wrong...try it and incorporate it into YOUR hair routine and see if it works for you...

UPDATE: Bought the 8oz jar and still loving it!!

I was buying makeup from a curly girl in a major department store who recommended that I try the Mimosa Hair Honey. I put it on my hair then and there and have been delighted ever since. I use a small dab on my 3b hair after it is dry. It adds shine, definition and eliminates frizz. It also allows me to get great lift and see each curl. This is a curly girl must have!

I have been free of relaxers for almost 10 years due to some serious scalp damage that I am still suffering from. Anyway, CDs stuff is very expensive BUT I am amazed at how the Mimosa Hair Honey hooks up a press & curl or flat iron. My hair is very dry, shrinks more than 50% when wet, thick and porus. ANY amount of steam or humidity will "snatch" my wig back INSTANTLY. But with this product my hair looks relaxed when i used this with heat styling to keep my hair soft and supple and shiny and believe it or not bouncy. It contains no water so it does not exacerbate my frizzies. It is my HG hair product. A VERY LITTLE goes a long way. A lot of ladies complain because CD uses a lot of ''simple" oils BUT these oils actually work for "us" and unless you are planning to make your own concoction, there are few products out there for "our" hair that are natural AND beneficial. I love this, Lisa's Elixir and Hair Balm.

I would describe my hair as very fine and past my butt in length with natural waves throughout. That said - in humid weather my hair will puff up and feel as if it is trying to suffocate me. I rarely use a hair dryer and most of the time I let it dry on its own. I do commit the sin of putting my hair up wet in a tight bun to get it out of the way which causes breakage as it dries and the hair gets tighter in its pinned up state. All this to say...yesterday I went to Sephora to try Carole's Daughter's products. I opened the sample jar of this product and noticed the bright scent, I then applied it to the top of my hand and noticed a golden sheen to my skin. I loved what it did to my skin and I could not wait to see what it did for my hair! ...today I decided to try this product and wear my hair down for a change. I paid attention to the reviews and used a small amount and I used it on damp hair to dilute it a bit. Today I used my diffuser dryer so that I could see how this product worked. May I say...for the first time in quite some time I LOVE MY HAIR. I have defined and non frizzed out waves (normally if I dry my hair it frizzes no matter what)...My hair is shiny, wavy, thick and full now. Even my husband commented on it. Instead of dull, lifeless waves...I have shine and softness that makes me so glad I didn't cut my hair off in frustration! A little goes a long way. The scent is very nice but dissipates quickly. I can't wait to see how my hair looks after I have slept on it as I wash every other day. I have used this on my cuticles and nails and the tops of my arms to add a lovely sheen. GREAT product!

I'm African-American with natura, THICK, frizz prone 3c curls. This only works in conjunction with the cd healthy hair butter when my hair is flat ironed. When my hair is in its natural state, it just laughed at this stuff. But straightened, whoee silky, shiny hair for days!

I sort of have a "love hate" relationship with this product.

On one hand it softens my hair like nobody's business. I also get sheen like nobody's business. I especially love that I don't have to order this online. I've also had the same jar for almost a year.

On the other hand you have to be careful not to use too much or it can get a little oily (like smudge the car window if your hair lightly grazes it oily). Also, I resent the fact that it costs as much as it does and yet it is based in cheap emollients (Ingredients: CORN OIL infused with lavender, rosemary, nettles, red roses, sage, blue malva, marigolds, red clover, BEESWAX, shea butter, cocoa butter, annatto seeds, alkanet root for color, essential oil of sweet orange, fragrance.). I also find it too light to use on my scalp. Although I'm not the type of person who cares about "defined" curls, to those that may you should know that this doesn't do squat for frizz.

All of that aside, I do like this product. I just resent paying this much money for something that is based in an ingredient that you can purchase from the grocery store at 64 oz. for $3. I wish there was a "Maybe" options for would you purchase this again.

Love this product. It smells amazing and a little bit goes a long way! I have had the container for over year and there is still over half of this product left. I only use it around the edges because I feel as though it works the best this way. But not the best on my ends, tends to make my ends too heavy.

My hair background: Natural Hair, but I wear it straight and press it weekly w/ the GHD.

This is the perfect hair shine - it's lightwight, smells beautiful and keeps the frizzies away. It has NO petroleum and NO mineral oil. You just take a liiiiiiitle bit and apply it to wet or dry hair. This ain't your grandma's hair grease - this stuff is actually good (and good for you). I'm not sure how well this would play on fine hair, but for thick 3a/b, 4a/b hair this is great.

Ingredients: Corn oil, lavender, rosemary, nettles, red roses, sage, blue maiva, marigolds, redclover, beeswax, shea butter, cocoa butter, amato seeds, alkanet root, and orange essential oils.

I use the Mimosa Hair Honey on my 4 year old daughter's hair. I use it for styling purposes. Her hair is very soft and naturally curly but it can get tangled overnight. The hair honey untangles her hair as well as gives it lots of body and shine. This product also helps tame those flyaways. The hair honey also has a nice citrus scent.

I have curly 3b-3c curls and this is my hg product for slicking my hair back into my signature bun bun. Leaves my hair really shiny. I can't say that it does anything in the moisturizing department but it smells really good and leaves me looking polished. Also it washes out without any problems or build up. Love it.
UPDATE: I still like this for the shine it gives but it doesn't give any other benefits. No moisture what so ever. It kinda leaves me with that coated feeling. But i still will use on special updo occasions. UPDATE2: omg, MyHoneyChild Old Fashioned Hair Grease blows this stuff waaay out of the water!!!

This product is a VERY light oil and does NOTHING for my hair. I have natural, very curly hair, and I think this Hair Honey probably is effective only for very finely textured, relaxed, or naturally straight hair.

My hair is natural an can be very dry, this product does not add moisture but it does add shine. I have found it to be more beneficial when I flat iron my hair and wear it straight more so than when it is natural. I love the scent, compared to the traditional hair care products, the mango scent is a change.

Bought a 4oz container of the Hair honey at the same time as I bought CD Hair Milk c. Dec '06 and was so turned off by both **See CD Hair Milk Review** The smell was so much less offensive than the Hair Milk but other than the ingredients list, I found nothing likable about this product. It went on like wax on my coily hair and was more like a skin balm than pomade providing no moisture, no shine whatsoever and in some instances not dissolving at all and greasy to boot! Big mistake, go for a swap or sample size if you are curious.
