The only reason i ever used this was because i was looking for a cheaper liquid liner to use for awhile and i found what i wanted...but i would have been better off not buying anything. The color it applies is watery, thin, and practically invisible! i expected alot better from this product, but i was highly disappointed. The only positive remark i have is that the felt tip was ok, but I don't recommend this for anyone.

This is a great basic black liquid liner, what's not to like? It's richly pigmented, has an easy to use brush, stays put. It doesn't run on me ever but I'm not sure if it's 100% waterproof as I haven't swam with it on or anything. I really don't expect any eye makeup to be 100% waterproof but that's just me.

I rotate between a few liquid liners, but this is my HG. I used to use liquid liner almost every day - broke the habit while I was living in a tiny Ghanaian village for four months, but I still LOVE liquid liner.
I'm also a dancer in a touring company: we do all of our makeup and this has been our go-to product for over 12 years!!

The formula is thick, opaque (a single stroke will not have "bald" patches or see through areas), applies beautifully over other makeup or on its own, has >18 hour lasting power (I'm a doctor.. I wear this stuff on call!), is basically waterproof, and the felt tip makes it easy to apply a thin or thick line. You can build the thickness and even draw some simple designs. Packaging doesn't leak or break and this stuff lasts (with daily use) at least 2 months.

Also I'm a contact lens wearer and its fairly non-irritating, doesn't flake or crumble off, and comes off easily with soap and water.

CONS:
-maybe not the best for first time liquid liner users because it doesn't wipe off that easily if you make a mistake
-MAYBELLINE TESTS ON ANIMALS AND THIS IS SUCKS!!!!

Summary:
-I will buy this product again, and again and again. BUT: I'm actively on the lookout for an eyeliner this good from a company with better ethics, and when I find that eyeliner.. I'm bailing! Meanwhile, gonna keep writing Maybelline letters...

OMG! BEST EYELINER EVER!!!! Put it on my top lid, no primer or anything, and it never budges all day through gym class or anything!I rub my eyes alot, so I usually have to reapply it midway through the day, but now I look at my liner and want to cry tears of happiness! IT STAYS! Cheap too! I used to have to binge-buy at sephora to find liquid liner that lasts, and now I can finally save my cash and look great! BUY IT!

I love this! The tip makes it easy to apply, producing great defined lines without smudging. The small bottle made me skeptical in purchasing the liner, but so far, it has lasted me a good 6 months and I use it every day. It is easy to control. It can wear off after awhile, but I always apply a pencil liner over it, too. Also, little bristles can flake off the liner, but that is not a big deal. I just wipe them off. No flaking occurs after applying eyeshadow or dabbing it with my fingertips. I will repurchase this liner!

I love this liquid eyeliner! This is my favorite & I've been using this faithfully for 5-6 years. The felt tip makes this eyeliner glide on smoothly. This never irritates my eyes, never flakes or smudges, & stays put all day. What more can you ask for? This is perfect. This is the one thing in my makeup bag that I can always rely on to work exactly the way I want it to. I couldn't ask for more or anything better. I have this in black, & it is very black, so there are no problems with the intensity of the color whatsoever. One thing I will say though, is that this isn't completely waterproof. Yes, this does stay on all day long without any problems. But, this also comes off easily with water, which I don't really mind because I never get water by my eyes anyway, & it stays put when I cry, so I don't find that to be a problem. And since it's so easy to come off with makeup remover, I don't have to scrub my delicate eyes to get this off. The formula is perfect, not too wet or dry. & this dries instantly! This is $5, & the first time I bought this I was feeling like I was getting ripped off for the little bottle. Don't let the little bottle fool you, this lasts you forever. I use this every single day, & I only repurchase this once a year. So that $5 goes a lonnnng way, it takes you further than most things take you with this economy. This is honestly the best thing Maybelline makes in my opinion. I can't find one thing wrong with this eyeliner. Go get it! You won't regret it.

*Don't get the Ultra Liner, that one is terrible.

This is a good inexpensive liquid eyeliner. The felt tip allows easy application. It does wear off after many hours of wearing it, but for a cheap product it was no surprise to me. Either re-apply or, in my case, I simply use a black khol liner over top of it when I first apply it.

I will definitely continue buying this product.

this was my first liquid liner, and i think it can be a great starter for anyone. the firm felt tip is easy to control, and the pointed end is perfect for thin lines, but you can easily build it up to draw on a thicker line.

i have this in grey, i guess i mistook it for black when i bought it haha, but it's a really dark gray that could actually pass for black, so i have no problems with it.

i took off a lippie, because it wasn't really waterproof for me. but i would still repurchase.

I love liquid liners, but I found this one to be a bust for me. The colour (black) was sheer and not an intense black that I prefer. The felt tip pen was awkward and difficult to use to achieve a thin precise line. I found this product flaked off within hours which was annoying and embarrassing. There are way better d/s brands that deliver a far superior product.

i hare it. do not waste your money. it fades, smudges, and IS NOT waterproof. it DOES NOT last. the only good thing i like about it is the easy application from the felt tip applicator, but the product itself SUCKS. would not buy again.

I'm not a fan of this liquid eyeliner, I think you can find much better. When it would dry, it would look chalky but would not budge during the day. The problem I had with this liquid eyeliner was the felt tip, after a few days of using it, the felt tip did not have a nice clean tip anymore and it was rather hard to apply. The brush had little strings flaking off it and it no longer allowed me to make a precise straight line. It was a lot of trouble. So if you don't use liquid eyeliner much and you just need it for special occasions, this is the one for you. For people that use it everyday, try something else or a cream liner.

I love the dark solid line that the felt tip and formula provide. It has a very good lasting power. It's not perfect, but it's as close to perfect as I have seen and I have tried a lot of liners. My only complaint is that the line on my lower lid, does not seem to stay a solid dark line for an entire day. It's easy to touch up though.

A great eyeliner for a beginner in eye lining like me! The tip is hard, so it's very easy to stay on. It looks smooth on the eye too. It lasts for a while, but sometimes, it still smudges.

I have used this for a few years now. I love how black this looks: not glossy on me at all. I do put a layer of dark shadow over the liquid line when it dries so as to "seal" it in and also smudge it deeper into my lash line, so that may help with it. But even on its own, this liner has great staying powder. The applicator is like a fine tip marker, easier to control than a brush, in my experience. As someone who really loves to try new things, I have had NO desire to try a different liquid liner and stray from this. My HG liquid liner 100%. 5 lippies.

I own this in brown. It is very easy to apply, but you get too much product on the felt tip, so I wipe mine off on the edges of the container before applying. I wish the tip were a little larger and didn't feel so rough on my skin. Once applied this lasts all day and won't budge until you take it off. I prefer it to Maybelline's Ultra Liner because the line is less harsh and the application is easier. However, this product does burn my eyes if it gets in them, and then it settles around the edges of my contact lenses, which is very odd looking. This would be perfect if the tip were softer and larger and if I didn't have to wipe it off before applying.

I've recently switched over to liquid liners in the past few years and started off with Lancome's Artliner pen. While that was a great product, I wasn't entirely happy with how harsh the lines looked. So then I switched to the CG line exact pen and that dried out too quickly. This Maybelline one is great because the felt tip doesn't make the lines as harsh as the regular e/l brush AND since it's a well you don't have to worry about it drying out, just dip for more product.

Purchased for around $6 at Target. I bought this primarily because I read good reviews about it on another board, and I was really in the mood for a liquid eyeliner with a felt-tip brush. I usually use cream eyeliner (L'Oreal HiP), but I'm envious of people who can apply the stuff artfully and perfectly in just 2seconds. I've been using it for over a YEAR, and I still stumble and skip when I apply the cream eyeliner. It's not the formula, it's probably more a problem with my eyelids... so I wanted to give liquid a try (plus, it's more easy to keep in my bag for touchups than a heavy jar and a brush is). In comes this. Gives a quick and easy line in a few swipes. The brush is nice and firm. The first time I used it, because of the nature of the brush, the brush wasn't saturated enough in color and it took a bit of layering for the line to finally show up opaque enough. But now that it's been opened and I've used it for a few days, it goes on fine.! Stays on all day. Only thing is it isn't very lasting on my lower lashline, so I still have to find a good liquid liner for that (cream/gel doesn't work there either).

Liquid eyeliner is a very hard thing to master but once you learn how you will find that liquid is much better than pencil. Pencils tend to crease on your upper lid and smudge. This is why I love line works by Maybelline. Once it is on it's on for good, I even sleep in this from time to time and it is still on when i wake up in the morning.

Here is a tip to clean application: use a tissue or a make up sponge and wipe off most of the liquid THEN apply it. when you pull it straight out of the tube there is way too much product on it.
