This is a great powder. I haven't bought it again because I'm still trying out different powders, but this is a good one. Goes on smooth, great for touch ups.

As far as color ranges go, MAC pressed powders just can't be beat (I use NC25, sheer pressed powder). I have yet to find another powder by any cosmetics co which comes even close to matching so many tones and types or addresses so many skin needs (such as desired coverage, matifying, sheer, etc). The only cons I see is that it can go on pretty chalky if applied with the puff it comes with; I really wish it were more finely milled. But hey, I solve this dilemma by using a brush instead and spritzing post application. Also, I feel it could and should be a little less expensive. But if you are like me and have a tough time finding good matching shades, the price is def worth it.

I have oily skin and have been searching for the right pressed powder. MAC is the best one I've used so far. Though it is a bit pricey and hard to find it here. But I will definitely repurchase it! Should try!

I suffer from oily skin and absoutley hate it - i hate looking in the mirror and seeing a constant shine on my face! Whilst browsing the MAC website searching for something to combat this problem i came across this lovely product and WOW! It is FANTASTIC! I have a lot of scars and uneven skin tone not forgetting redness and this fades them all perfectly, i will re-purchase this product over and over again! It is brilliant! I never go round looking shiny and horrible, my skin looks beautiful and matte! For all those people wondering whether to buy this product and are in 2 minds .. GO FOR IT! It may seem a little pricey but if you buy cheap you buy twice! Amazing product- could never ever live without it EVER!! I use Revlon Colorstay underneath and my skin has never looked for good :) these 2 products definately make me very happy as i'm embarresed about my normal skin!
Hope this has helped all you people out there wondering whether to go for it!

Love this product. I don't usually wear foundation or powders, but after this I would definitely change my mind. If you are going to invest in skin products/makeup, then it's worth spending a little more for something better. This powder goes on with a velvety finish and perfectly blends into my skin. The powder lasts long and comes in a sleek black compact. I think the best thing about MAC products is that the sales reps are so helpful in matching a product to your skin tone.

I used to use Mac concealer & pressed powder for years & I felt like I was wearing a mask. Not light at all. Especially, since I have acne prone skin, I would not recommend this product. I converted to BE & I gave away my Mac concealers & powders to my mom. Sorry, Mac...wont purchase this again.

I use this to set my makeup, and then for touch-ups throughout the day. It's light and takes away shine without making you look powdery. One of my must-haves.

This is my HG powder. its very finely milled, and though it can hang to those dry spots on my cheeks, the problem is easily fixed with a little moisturizer. Im 20, with very fair skin and i use NC5, the lightest shade. I was matched with NC 25, and found it to be much much to dark and yellow on me. Im asian but i have more pink undertones. It does have a tendency to oxidize and turn orange quite quickly, so I'd recommend getting a shade or two lighter than what they recommend. They never match my color right. I have clear, normal/combo skin with occasional dryness on my cheeks. It is pretty sheer, but i use it every morning to neutralize the slight redness in my cheeks thats highlighted from using moisturizer and to take away shine. Its perfect at evening my skin tone and makes me look like i have naturally perfect skin. I also used the lancome photogenic powder for a short while (borrowed my moms) until i replaced this, and i find that the two are very similar but MAC is much cheaper in price. If anything i like MAC better because its better and evening the slight red/pink in my cheeks and doesnt accentuate the dry flakes on my cheeks as much as the lancome powder had a tendency to do at times. it takes me like 30 seconds to brush over my face after lotion/sunblock. I've been using it everday for almost a year after my skin started getting more dry in the fall/winter and i decided i needed something to take away the shiniess/redness accentuated from lotion. Its reasonably priced and one compact lasts me about 6 months with everyday use. I used to use the sponge applicator that came with it, but now i use a powder brsuh from chanel. If you're looking for a sheer powder just to even out skin tone a little, then this is definitely worth a try.

This is a very good product. It blots oil and does not leave much in the way of residual powdery-ness or color. It is the best pressed powder I have used so far and I have bought it a couple times.

A lovely soft powder, I use a light sweep with a brush over my foundation. The packaging is good and the powder doesn't break in your handbag. The puff supplied is good for on the go touch-ups.

I about almost done with my first compact and I just purchased the mineralized skin finish instead of the select sheer pressed powder. At first, it worked really well or maybe I was much more tan but I soon realized it made my face look dirty, streaky and orange, yuck! so I will not be repurchasing. And believe me, I LOVE MAC but they really struck out on this powder. I also use the blot powder for my oily skin but so far so good. :-)

Typically, I don't wear foundation. I've never needed to. As my skin becomes more "mature." I notice my skin tone is uneven. For years, I have heard friedns rave about MAC products. I finally broke down and got some. My concern about using powders/foundation was that it would look cakey or fake. MAC's Select Sheer/Pressed powder didn't disappoint me. It is perfect for a first time user. There is no way you can mess this up. Coupled with their concealer Select moisture cover concealer, I have a very polished look in the morning. The powder helps me enhance my natural skin tone and that is exactly what I was looking to do. No cover up. I highly recommend the select sheer powder. It is very good and the price didn't bother me much either because of the amazing results.

I used some CoverGirl stuff before to control shine and it sucked. I have combo skin and my nose can reflect light! With Mac even though it was a big jump in price it's definitely better quality. This stuff works well and does not dry skin. Of course i wear moisturizer before powdering my face because i don't wear foundation. Also, I use a tone slightly darker (NC 30) and blush shows up better with this powder on. Lastly, this stuff can stretch for a while, you don't need very much. Will definitely buy again!

This is good stuff. Does what a powder should do. Just that it's expensive. The packaging is nice, just the puff wears out fast and needs to be replaced. You tend to take a powder like this for granted until you try some of the other stuff out there, then you go back to it and really appreciate it!

I LOVE THIS PRODUCT! It goes on smoothly, but I would recomend putting a moisturizer on before applying it because it does attach to those dry spots. You can apply it quickly, by the end of the day it will still be there, it makes you skintone very even and with most foundations, when you sweat it looks all blotchy and not to mention TERRIBLE but this one is very good! I WOULD DEFINITELY buy this product again!!!!!:)

I'm hoping I have the right review category here...this is for the pressed blot powder. I have it in medium. When I read reviews on here pre-purchase I decided that I wanted to go w/ the pressed vs. the loose due to ingredients. I have combo. skin so I do experience some oil throughout the day in my t-zone. This is very effective at controlling that. I use a makeup primer underneath my makeup but no moisturizer. I only use this a few times a day and it controls my oilies. Love it!!

I always find this unnatural and making me more pale and whitish than ever. It really looks like i had touchup and that's a real big headache. I dislike the use of this and half way through i change to another brand. I just hate it. Nothing good about, wonder why i brought it....must be the work of the SA.

NC 45, dry combination skin with a few dry patches, nearly 30 years old.

Advantages: Quick, convenient and easy to apply. Probably good for those with oily skin.

Disadvantages: If your skin is naturally dry, this product does tend to grab onto those dry patches. Also, be careful not to overapply.

Although I wouldn't buy it again, here are some tips to make it work if you can't return it.

1) First, as with any powder, your skin must be moisturized. The way my skin reacts when I am exfoliating, using masks and using the right moisturizer is a total 180 as compared to when I am washing only and using a cheapo moisturizer. Bottom line, this product won't hide much more than a few freckles, it mostly just works with what you have.

2) Apply using a brush. I used that pad that MAC gave me, and it was a disaster. I use the Body Shop Body brush (24.50), slightly pricey but much less than MAC's 60.00 brush.

3) Start light, and build up. This product doesn't look good caked on.

4) This works best SHORTLY after moisturizing (like just a few minutes after applying moisturizer.
